Chapter 15: Konoha
Chapter 15: Konoha
The next morning after Shizune and Tsunade woke up they were greeted by Kakashi and Yamato. “Good morning Hokage-sama, we came on master Jiriaya’s orders because of a disturbance that happened recently around here. Master Jiriaya was concerned so he dispatched us to investigate and to check on the three of you. Are you in need of assistance Hokage-sama?”
“Hatake Kakashi everything is fine here, however we need you to take Sasuke back to the village and put him in the room of sealing and as for the other one (Tsunade pointed to the boy who was laying on the bed with Sakura). I think we will be fine to take him back on our own” said Tsunade.
“Other one what do you mean Hokage-sama” said Kakashi. Tsunade then pointed to Sakura and Naruto in the bed sleeping together.
“I see that he has finally returned to normal. So you want to keep him with you for a little while and we are to take Sasuke back to the village, Hokage-sama” said Kakashi.
“Hokage-sama do you need me to stay close to him because of Kyuubi” asked Yamato.
“I do not think that will be necessary Captain Yamato. Just make sure that Sasuke is taken back to the village and inform only Jiriaya that Naruto is back with us. Am I understood?”
“YES, Hokage-sama” said Kakashi and Yamato in unison they picked up Sasuke and left the inn.
After a while Sakura woke up and found that she was sleeping next to Naruto and holding tightly like a child in her arms. ‘Please don’t let this be a dream. This isn’t a dream is it? Has he finally returned to us?’
“Ah I see you have awoken Sakura. Did you sleep well considering that he has finally returned?” inquired Tsunade.
“Huh…uh…oh yeah I did sleep well, but tell me is this true has he finally returned to us Tsunade-sama”.
“What does your heart tell you? Does the person you are with feel real to you? Is he the person you remember years ago? Yes, Sakura he has returned but time will tell if he back to himself or not. However until he wakes up we will know for sure what has happened to him. Now then why don’t you get up and get some clothes on so we can return to the village”.
Shizune came into through the door and said, “Tsunade-sama, the inns owner says that breakfast is ready if anyone wants something to eat. Sakura do you think I can have a little time with my son?”
Both Sakura and Tsunade left the room to change and get something to eat. Shizune sat beside the bed where Naruto was asleep and said in a soft voice to him, “I am happy you returned to us my son. My only hope is that you remember the things since you have been inside Kyuubi. Just remember I will always be there for you if you need. Perhaps someday we can be a family again my sweet little boy.”
At the breakfast area Sakura and Tsunade sat down and were eating their breakfast. Sakura was the first to break the silence and said, “Tsunade-sama when are we going to return to the village?”
“Truthfully Sakura I would like to return to the village as soon as we are ready to go. However since Kakashi arrived early this morning and took Sasuke back to the village I think we can stay for the rest of the time we had already planned on. Will that be satisfactory for you Sakura, or is their other reason you would like to return Sakura?”
“I was only thinking about Naruto’s safety back in the village. He still hasn’t regained consciousness, but I just believe…”
Tsunade jumped in mid sentence “I know what you are saying Sakura and I believe in your judgment. I also believe that it would be worthwhile that Naruto remains here until he recovers. If need be I will return to the village and you and Shizune can stay by Naruto’s side until then”.
“Thank you Hokage-sama I do believe that that is might the best way for everyone. By the way do you think that the village will know that he has returned to or not?”
“I am pretty sure that Kakashi will keep this a secret. As for Jiriaya, I have known him for nearly fifty years and in all that time he has never revealed secrets openly to anybody that he doesn’t believe worthy so we don’t have to worry about that. However I would like him to be in the village hospital so that we can monitor him, but since there are three medical ninja here I don’t think we really have to worry about that. When the time comes I will announce it to the village that Naruto has returned to the leaf. Right now I want you to just relax and enjoy yourself Sakura I think that will be the best for us all.”
Sakura and Tsunade ate for another few minutes before heading back to the room. When they arrived they found Naruto still asleep on the bed and Shizune sleeping in the chair next to the bed. “Doesn’t he look so peaceful like that” said Sakura at that point Naruto had begun to stir in the bed. Sakura turned her head when she caught a glimpse of Naruto stirring in the bed. She then went to the bed and looked at her love. She knelt down next to the bed and placed her hands in his and said, “Naruto can you hear me”.
Naruto began to stir even more. All three women looked upon him and saw his eyes slowly open. As his eyes opened his vision was blurred and could only see a pink blur in his vision and said, “Sakura…is that you”.
Sakura looked upon him in surprise and said, “Yes, Naruto it is me”. After Sakura made her comment she pressed her forehead against his and kissed him on his lips.
