A/N: O.o nani? what the hell? is this an update?!! you bet your sweet ass it's an update!! >.< i have been struck by in.spir.ation, my friends. after months (months?) of torturing me, the words just started to roll off my fingertips and onto the word sheet, amassing in this wonderful thing of beauty you are about to read, if only for the fact that it's an actual update and not because it really is beautiful. this train of in.spir.ation continues, since i have figured out how to end this hellish piece of fiction, and it shall be oh, so glorious, if only for the fact that it will be finished and not because it really is glorious... O.o i kinda sound like atobe...

Ore-sama demand that you read this and enjoy it as only something by Ore-sama can be enjoyed! *is a dork*

Special Dedication: this chapter is dedicated to hanyou_elf because she wanted it (and i mean *wanted*) and to Rasengan22 because i promised her a birthday update, and dammit, i'm going to keep that promise even if her birthday is hell and gone from today... *checks calendar* yep, hell and gone... >___>

PLEASE NOTE: there be squick in this here chapter, and i warn those that be squickish. there's a bit of blood play, because i wanted to make the sex believable (yes, i said sex, there's sex, wall sex, even). if you are squickish, please avert thine eyes, but the ending is _hella_ important, so don't miss out on that.

longest A/N ever...

please enjoy!!

Here's to the Fox: Chapter 12
____________________________

This wasn’t supposed to happen.

Sasuke ran from the shadow of a crumbling building to avoid being buried under debris. His Sharingan was spinning madly, his eyes darting about for signs of his brother. Someone – Sasuke couldn’t tell who from the dust and dirt flying about – came stumbling towards him, making a choking sound and flailing about wildly. He paused slightly, pondering whether he should take the man to the hospital or at least to a medic somewhere nearby, when a glint of silver from the person’s hand caught his eye. As the man came closer Sasuke read his body language, saw the minute tensing of his muscles before his arm was pulled back to strike, and Sasuke beat him to it, plunging his sword into the man’s gut. Sasuke caught the man’s dead weight, his eyes opening in a twinge of hysteria when he saw the ANBU mask on top of the man’s head.

This wasn’t supposed to happen.

Sasuke dropped the body and stumbled backwards before getting a hold of his fraying emotions and taking off once again. The dead bodies of Sound and Leaf ninja were scattered about the battlefield, causing Sasuke more than a bit of trouble since he couldn’t take to the crumbling roofs for fear of being spotted. As he passed between two barely standing buildings, a slight explosion sent one of the walls crashing into his side, nearly crushing him into the opposite wall before he managed to jump out of the way. The right side of his face was scratched from the rough material of the building, his hand stinging where sweat dripped into scrapes left on his bloodstained skin.

This wasn’t supposed to happen.

Sasuke stood panting, trying to get his nerves back under control, but his eyes were closed, his mind screaming at him that this was not how today was supposed to have gone. He was supposed to have woken in a dreamy and semi-confused state, suddenly to recall Naruto giving him a mind-blowing blowjob, and either fighting down the blush that would have tried to color his cheeks or smile contently, which Sasuke wasn’t prone to ever doing, so had little faith that that would have happened.

Instead he woke up to ANBU marching into his room and ordering him to Hokage Tower, where Tsunade told him and the others to prepare for battle. Something had set the Akatsuki and Sound ninja off, resulting in them attacking before Naruto and Gaara had even left. He was separated from Naruto early in the battle, watching as the blonde morphed into the Fox and bounded off in a different direction. But he had given Sasuke a look, something the Uchiha couldn’t quite define, before racing away, a look that had had his heart racing for more than the fighting going on around him.

And now it had been hours since he’d last seen anyone of importance in his life, whether new or old. Sasuke took a deep breath then pushed himself onward, his red eyes once again sweeping the area looking for signs of Itachi. His mouth quirked in a faint smirk as he recalled Akira calmly asking if the new theory about Orochimaru meant they could call Itachi ‘Itamaru.’ If he wasn’t overcome with a debilitating rush of rage at the sight of his brother, Sasuke thought he might even give the name a shot, just to see the reaction. Orochimaru never did like to be called anything other than ‘Orochimaru-sama.’

“Uchiha!”

Sasuke whipped his head in the direction of the voice, trying to see through the dust that refused to settle. He saw a shadow on a crumbling rooftop, too large to be human, and was inwardly relieved to find a large, white nin-dog jumping down to the street next to him. Sasuke continued to run, cautiously scanning for Itachi, though his brow arched in question at Kiba.

“Why does your brother have to be so damn difficult?”

Sasuke grunted in bitter amusement. He wasn’t too sure this was all Itachi’s doing, especially if Kakashi’s theory about Orochimaru was correct. Next to him, Akamaru sniffed and growled before halting.

“What’s going on?” Sasuke asked impatiently.

“He says Temari’s getting ready to do something about this smoke screen.”

“What could she possibly-”

Sasuke was cut off as a deadly gust of wind blew through the village, causing more than one person to fly into the air. Sasuke crouched down behind Akamaru with a now grounded Kiba and waited out the gale. Before their squinted eyes the dust and debris that wafted through the air only moments ago dissipated into nothing, leaving the air clear. When he felt it was safe to move, Sasuke changed direction and headed back to the Hokage Tower.

“Where are you going?”

“Temari doesn’t have the strength to do that. I don’t know anyone in the village that can manipulate the wind like that.”

“So you think it’s the fox boy, don’t you?”

“I’ve been looking for that dobe, too. Besides, no one intent on destroying the village would still be at the front gates.”

“They would try to make their way to the Hokage.”

Sasuke didn’t grace that with an answer, just kept running back to the starting point. As he and Kiba made their way back to the Tower, Sasuke could make out other shapes of people close and far away heading in the same direction. He didn’t pick up any Sound ninja or Akatsuki members in his search, and he idly wondered where the hell they were.

When the Tower came in sight, Sasuke could make out Tsunade and Naruto standing before it, arguing about something, Gaara just off to the side, clearly listening but intent on staying out of it. Their debate became clearer as they came up on them.

“You can’t tell me what to do, hag! I’m not one of your Leaf nin!”

“I don’t care, brat, I forbid you from taking on the enemy by yourself. They seem to have fallen back for the moment, we should do so as well!”

“Oh, that makes a lot of sense! Let’s just sit here and let the enemy walk up to us and hand us our asses!”

“Who the hell do you think you are? I am the Godaime Hokage, one of the Legendary Sannin, and I have the authority and experience to tell you that you going off by yourself will do nothing for us but to get yourself killed!”

“Bullshit! I have the strength and power of a centuries-old demon. I could snap you in half if I wanted. What makes you think I can’t do it to this Uchiha prick?”

“Dobe!” Angry gazes swung his way, but he didn’t flinch. He simply returned them before focusing on Naruto. “While I agree that we shouldn’t sit here and wait for them to attack us, we can’t overlook the fact that this may just be a clever ruse on their part to lure us into a trap.”

Naruto just glared at him more, but Tsunade closed her eyes irritably. “You have a point there, Uchiha. Though I am leery of this being a trap. Orochimaru isn’t the type to sit idly by.”

“Which means it’s probably Itachi that has called this retreat,” Sasuke added.

“Which is still a mystery, since neither Orochimaru or Itachi are the type to think they can’t handle any situation. Both have just brazenly entered the village before for what they wanted,” Kakashi said as he joined the small group. Kiba had moved off to check on the others, leaving them to discuss this on their own.

“So, we should send someone out to find out what the hell’s going on, yeah?”

Naruto started bouncing in place, a pleased smirk crossing his lips. Sasuke and Tsunade glared at him, both biting out a sharp, “No!” But Naruto was already gone, taking off to the gates, a feral smile on his face.

“Naruto!” Sasuke called out frantically. Where the hell did that idiot think he was going? Without thinking, Sasuke took off after him, ignoring Tsunade’s calls for him to return.

He caught up with the boy easily enough, for Naruto was going at what could only be termed as a ‘leisurely pace.’ He tried several times to get Naruto’s attention, but the dobe was having none of it and just kept moving forward. Finally getting fed up, Sasuke increased his speed and jumped in front of Naruto, halting them both in the middle of an abandoned street.

“What are you doing, teme?”

“Getting your attention! What part of ‘no’ don’t you understand? You could be walking right into a trap!”

“I’ll be fine, Sasuke! It’s you who should turn back!”

“Naruto, this is my fight, if anyone’s!”

“That’s funny, Sasuke, ‘cause I don’t remember a demon being sealed in your body that the Akatsuki are after.”

Sasuke glared at him. “This is no time to be cute, Naruto! This is my brother, my crazed sensei, this is my battle!”

Before Naruto could reply, something dropped from the air, exploding upon impact with the ground. Sasuke and Naruto neatly dodged the resulting dust cloud, jumping into the air only to be pelted by tiny bombs that stung their skin. They landed on a nearby roof, both crouched on one knee, breathing hard from the dust.

“What the hell was that?”

“That would be Deidara, I would assume. He must be trying to create another masterpiece, against Itachi’s orders, more than likely.”

Naruto raised an eyebrow, but Sasuke shrugged it aside. More bombs descended on them, an influx too great to completely dodge. Sasuke was tossed into a wall after leaping into the air, the breath knocked out of him for several seconds. He was disoriented, lying on his side on the ground, struggling for breath. He knew he was vulnerable, but he couldn’t move properly.

“Sasuke!”

Someone was calling him. The dobe. His dobe. Naruto.

“Sasuke!”

“He-,” Sasuke tried to choke out, but his mouth was dry, his breath still hard to grasp. “Here,” he gasped weakly, his throat constricting painfully. But Naruto heard him, with his inhuman hearing, was able to find him.

“Sasuke,” he spoke gently, bending to help the pale man up. Sasuke leaned against the wall, heaving deep gulps of air, lifting a hand to wipe away the dust trying to blind him. “Stay here,” he heard Naruto say, and his eyes flew open, his hand reaching out for the fox.

“No.”

Naruto let out an exasperated sigh. “We’re both targets here. If I get away, they’ll more than likely track me.”

Sasuke shook his head wildly. “I won’t let you go,” he said evenly, despite the rising, uncharacteristic panic.

“Sasuke-”

“I won’t lose you!” Sasuke said defiantly, an edge of finality to his voice. Naruto just stared at him, his eyes hard and cold but for a small spark of something that Sasuke knew hadn’t been there a moment before. There was blood covering the Fox’s entire body, what looked to be a serious gash at his temple. But before he could say or do anything else, Naruto’s body slammed into his, a tongue snaking out to lick his lips before forcing its way inside his dry mouth, filling it with Naruto’s saliva.

Sasuke swallowed, his brain finally catching up to what was happening, and he eagerly kissed back, his tongue dueling with Naruto’s, his hands clutching at the material on Naruto’s back.

Naruto moved, his hips rubbing against Sasuke’s, and the Uchiha moaned into the blonde’s mouth, silently asking for that sensation again, hurriedly forgetting where they were and what was going on around them.

Naruto obliged him, continuously thrusting his hips into Sasuke’s until the raven had to pull away from the kiss to pant and moan Naruto’s name silkily. Naruto’s hot mouth moved up to his ear and whispered softly as he nuzzled the delicate shell.

“This may be our only chance, Sasuke.”

A rough thrust had Sasuke’s head thrown back in pleasure, his neck exposed for Naruto to start licking and nipping his way to the other ear, where he whispered yet again.

“Will you love me, no matter what happens?”

“Naruto,” he began to answer, but Naruto silenced him with another kiss, his hands traveling down his sides to his thighs, encouraging him to lift his legs and wrap them around the blonde. Then his hands began to undo Sasuke’s pants, the Uchiha unable to protest as Naruto sucked on his tongue.

He pulled back when Naruto began to pull his pants over his hips, his half-lidded eyes gazing hazily at the blonde. Then his hands moved from Naruto’s back to his front, sliding down a sweat and blood drenched chest to press his palm over his fox’s heated erection. Naruto bit his lip, one fang dipping dangerously into the pouty flesh, and Sasuke stifled a gasp at the sight, coupled with the feel of Naruto’s clawed hands raking over his bare ass.

Sasuke didn’t know what was going on and didn’t give himself time to think about it. Naruto’s mood was suddenly so serious and intent, not angry and energetic like before. It was too confusing for Sasuke’s still too-addled brain, so he leaned back against the wall and watched as one of Naruto’s hand came up, two fingers swiping at the blood on the blonde’s temple.

“This is all I’ve got, Sasuke,” he whispered before trailing his fingers over the Uchiha’s ass and plunging one finger in swiftly, his mouth claiming Sasuke’s scream of pain. A moment was all he took to move it in and out before the second joined, pain racing up Sasuke’s spine. He screamed again, the sound taken in by Naruto’s mouth once more, and Sasuke bit down on the blonde’s lower lip harshly, drawing blood, letting it fill his mouth, but all Naruto did was move his fingers in and out, stretching them out every now and again to prep Sasuke sufficiently.

It was so painful, though not the most pain Sasuke’d ever been in. He’d had worse wounds before, both physical and mental. This, this was nothing. And it was a pain inflicted by the one he loved, so it was a pain that was to be cherished, especially since his brain was finally catching up to what Naruto was doing. He mind was clearing, and he knew this pain would only be followed by pleasure, surely.

Naruto pulled away from him, breathing heavily. “I’m sorry, Sasuke. This is going to hurt, but I need you, this may be-”

He choked on his words and Sasuke leaned forward, his forgotten hand undoing Naruto’s pants. “This may be… our only chance,” he whispered, kissing the side of Naruto’s mouth as he drew the blonde’s erection from his pants. He used his thighs to rise up over Naruto, his head still bent to kiss him as the fox lined his cock up with Sasuke’s ass.

Then he rammed in quickly, and even Naruto’s kiss couldn’t catch all of Sasuke’s screams as he felt fire race along every nerve, his back arched in pain as Naruto held him steady against the wall.

As Sasuke tried to get air to his starving lungs, Naruto pulled out and rammed in again, groaning even as Sasuke lost his breath again, his back connecting roughly with the wall. Naruto did it again, and again, until the pain was replaced with pleasure, and Sasuke’s need to breath was replaced with the need to move, to impale himself more fully onto Naruto’s cock, to take it in deeper as if to make it a part of himself.

His thighs tightened around Naruto’s waist as the blonde thrust into him, and he thrust his pelvis out to find some friction for his own weeping arousal, and the change in his position helped Naruto to spear something inside him, and Sasuke saw stars fly across his vision.

“Again, Naruto.” Naruto complied, thrusting harshly against that spot, and Sasuke cried out in pleasure. “Again. Again. Again, again, again, Naruto, Naruto, Naruto, Naruto…”

His chants grew in volume, Naruto growling and thrusting faster, in time to his demands. Sasuke’s back was rubbing vigorously over the rough stone of the wall, the friction adding a heat to his body that just drove him forward to claim Naruto’s lips in a fevered kiss, his tongue thrusting into Naruto’s mouth at the same pace Naruto was thrusting into his body.

Then one of Naruto’s hands that had held his hips in a vice grip moved to circle his aching cock, and Sasuke screamed in release, a wordless cry that echoed off the buildings still standing, the added pleasure too much to stand, and his inner muscles clenched down on Naruto’s thick cock, making the fox howl before driving in even more forcefully than before, his mouth attaching to Sasuke’s neck, the distinct pain of fangs through his skin registering through the haze of his orgasm.

They both slumped against the wall for a moment, trying to get their breaths back, and then Sasuke lowered his stiff legs to the ground, one hand lazily drifting down to catch his pants. Clawed hands then took over, pulling his pants back up, and Sasuke let them, his own moving to tuck Naruto back in. He shivered lightly at the sight of Naruto’s flaccid, blood-covered flesh, but it wasn’t so much in disgust as… lust. He closed his eyes, moaning quietly at the realization that he was turned on by his lover’s blood.

When they were both decent, they just stood there, Sasuke leaning against the wall, Naruto’s reassuring weight settled on top of him. Naruto’s bloodless check was resting on his head, and Sasuke was staring out at the dust-covered city through the opening between the stone walls.

“This doesn’t change anything, Naruto,” he said quietly, his arms tightening about the blonde’s waist. At the fox’s questioning noise, Sasuke swallowed thickly, his eyes shining with emotion he wouldn’t let anyone see. “You still have to come back to me. You promised.”

“I did,” was Naruto’s quiet answer. “And I will.”

“How touching,” a sibilant hiss greeted them. Naruto turned to the side to look behind them, Sasuke’s red eyes already looking for the enemy. He spotted a shadow atop the wall opposite them through the dust-haze, and he tensed as he recognized the shape of the cloak. He opened his mouth to spout something heated at Orochimaru, moved his body to throw himself at his brother, but a sudden pain bloomed from his gut. He couldn’t move from the wall.

“Foolish little brother,” came his brother’s soft voice, an eerie echo from the past, and Sasuke squinted through blurring eyes at the figure, noticing that one arm was outstretched. Then he finally let his eyes fall to his body, blinking dumbly at the sword sticking out from his gut, a river of red flowing down his pelvis and legs, dripping to the sandy ground below.

“Sasuke!” someone cried out, someone close by, but Sasuke was having a hard time remembering who was there. His vision began to dim, and someone shouted his name again as he slumped over the protruding sword.

Sasuke!”

It was a terrible cry, Sasuke thought, almost like a wounded animal or the howl of an angry beast. It made his heart ache and followed Sasuke down into the darkness.
