Chapter 15: A birthday filled with surprises:

“Okay then! Kakashi-san, Sakura-san, please be so kind to follow me.” Kira motioned them into the living room where the blonde fox was relaxing on the black leather couch.

“Naruto! Are you alright?” the pink-haired girl squealed as she ran to the confused male.

“… Sakura-chan?”

“Kakashi-sensei and Kiba´s here as well… Sasuke tells me that you are ill… Let me have a look at you!” It was more like an order than a request and Naruto didn’t dare to say no even if he wanted to.

“Damn Sasuke! I told I didn’t need a medic… even if it’s Sakura-chan,” he barked at his lover.

“Hnnn… Stop the bickering and let Sakura do her job, Dobe!” he stated calmly. The Uchiha felt relieved now that he knew that his blonde was in good and very capable hands with Sakura.

Even if he found the girl annoying and a royal pain in the ass, he knew that Sakura looked at Naruto as her big brother and would do anything to make him feel better.

“Sasuke… can I have a word with you?” Kakashi gave the Kage a serious look and the Uchiha knew what his former sensei was going to talk about.

“Follow me!” Sasuke lead the silver-haired nin to his office and closed the door behind them, avoiding distruption of Sakura´s examination of the fox.

“So… what’s going on?” The copy-nin crossed his arms above his chest and leaned against the wall behind him.

“Hnnn!”

“He has to go home eventually, you know!”

“He’s already home… and will be going nowhere without me at his side as long as you won't free him from his commitment to Konoha!” Sasuke said protectively.

“Oh… so I was right after all then?” Kakashi smirked underneath his mask.

“I don´t know what you are talking about… but he stays right here where he belongs!”

“I want to see him happy too… The three of you are important to me, but it won’t be easy to make Tsunade-sama give Naruto up… And I can’t help you with that without betraying Konoha…”

“I don´t ask you to. You helped me to find him and to be able to go after him, Kakashi-sensei… I owe you for that and I´m very grateful… more than you could ever imagine!” Sasuke said, staring at the floor.

“Oh I understand very well… You loved him for so long… without being able to be honest with yourself… Now that you finally have him, you don´t want to let go of him or the happiness and warmth you share with him… right?”

“… Kakashi… is it about Iruka- sensei?” Sasuke dared to ask, as he somehow felt that his former sensei was just as much in love as the Uchiha were.

“So, Naruto, let’s have a look at you!” the pink-haired medic said while unpacking her bag.

“… Eh? There’s no need to examine me Sakura-chan… I´m fine!” The blonde said as he sat up in the bed.

“… Stop it, O-nii chan! I´m gonna examine you so just shut up and take of your shirt already!” she ordered. Naruto was sure that it would be a bad idea not to obey her, so he dragged his shirt over his head and let it drop to the floor.

“It´s good to see you again O-nii chan…” she said, examining his throat to see if he had an infection.

“You too!” he whispered. He was a bit embarrassed to meet up with his friends like this again.

“… Why did you leave? No one blamed you for what happened to Konohamaru! You killed that blue fish guy and saved him…We were afraid that we’d lost you for good, Naruto!” She activated the green healing chakra and ran her fingers above his broad chest.

“Sorry, but I just couldn’t stand being there anymore. I just needed to get away to think things through… “He explained, staring out the window as Sakura´s hands hovered above his heart.

“I kinda knew you were a slow thinker sometimes, but you were gone for two years… don´t you think that’s a bit long?”

“I didn’t plan to come home anytime soon… I would not even be here if it wasn’t…” he sighed and trailed off.

“What?!” She leaned back and gave him a glare as she paused her examination.

“If Sasuke hadn’t asked me to meet with him at the wave… I would….” He didn’t know where he would have been if Sasuke hadn’t sent a message to him. Maybe he would have stayed with Gaara… or he would have traveled on. He was sure that he wouldn’t have returned to the Leaf, though… He had made up his mind that he wouldn’t go back home.

“Well… why are you here then…? I thought you hated The Sound!” she asked as she began to examine the blonde again.

“Nah… I never hated the Sound! I hated Orochimaru because he took Sasuke away. I hated Kabuto for betraying my trust in him and because he tried to kill Baa-sama. The city has nothing to do with that!”

“I see… So you’re gonna stay here then, O-nii chan?” She searched his ribs for damage before moving on slowly so she wouldn’t risk overlooking anything.

“Yeah, guess so… I´m happy here and the new city is cool… Kira told me that a ramen stand will open shortly, though I doubt they will be able to make ramen as well as Ichiraku´s!” the blonde grinned.

“Heh heh… you and your obsession with ramen,” Sakura chuckled happily. She was happy that Naruto seemed to be feeling at home here, though she would prefer that he would come back home with her.

“What’s the deal with you and Sasuke? Have you finally decided to become friends again?” Naruto stiffened at her questions, should he tell her the truth?

Kakashi gave the raven-haired Otokage a smile beneath his mask. “Yup… I love my sweet little dolphin! And I´m happy that I finally pulled it together and ask him out!”

“Thought so! You’re together then?” Sasuke gave his sensei a glance that said he’d understand.

“Heh heh… yeah, he was feeling the same way… Did you know that my dolphin’s a closet pervert? He’s so cute and a real animal in bed!”

“Hey… I don´t wanna hear another word… pervert!”

“So… what are you planning, Sasuke?”

“Hnnn.” Sasuke leaned against the wall next to Kakashi. “Not much yet, but Naruto is counting on Gaara’s help.”

“Oh, I see… Not a bad plan! Gaara and Suna are strong and Tsunade wouldn’t want to upset the Kazekage nor the Otokage heh heh!”

“Guess that what’s the Dobe was thinking,” Sasuke crossed his arms above his chest and sighed. “I should give him more credit, eh?”

“Yup… He’s smarter that he wants us to believe… He’s a clever fox!” Kakashi chuckled.

“Hnnn.”

“You should try to ask Tsunade first, ya know! She’s gonna be really pissed if you just threaten her to give up on Naruto… She likes him a lot!”

“I know… I… I just love him so much! I would die if I’d lost him again,” Sasuke confessed to his own surprise.

Kakashi looked at him while he raised his visible brow. “Feels good to say it out loud, doesn’t it?”

“… Yeah!” Sasuke smiled at the silver-haired nin and felt his heart sing with joy. He had told Kakashi that he loved Naruto… and it had felt so good that he actually felt like telling everybody.

A load scream from the bedroom caused both males to look at the door then each other before rushing towards the bedroom.

“Um Sakura-chan, about Sasuke… I…” Naruto began.

“Huh? What is this?” She muttered without hearing the blonde as something had caught her attention, as her hands reached his stomach.

“Sakura-chan?” The blonde asked with worry as he saw her concentrated face.

“Be quiet… There’s something strange here!”

“Strange?” Naruto´s blue eyes widened in confusion.

“Yes… your gut… It´s wrong somehow… and there’s something in there…!”

“Did I swallow something and it’s making me sick?” he asked, wondering what he could have eaten that could be causing his illness.

“No, not something you ate… Oh God! It can’t be that you are…!”

“What?! What... tell me?” He urged her to answer but her face just turned very pale before she screamed out as she realized what was wrong with her friend.

Sasuke and Kakashi barged through the door as Sakura screamed in shock of what she had found out.

“Sakura… what’s wrong?” Kakashi and Sasuke cried in unison. Both were worried that the blonde may have a deadly disease or something like that.

“She says that there’s something inside on me!” Naruto looked scared and that only made his lover and sensei worry even more.

“Something… inside of you?” Sasuke´s eyes were wide as he dropped down on the bed next to Naruto.

“…. He’s…. he’s…” Sakura stuttered.

“Tell us! Is it something dangerous?!” Kakashi grabbed Sakura´s shoulders and began to shake her.

“Naruto… He’s… he’s pregnant!”

“WHAT?!” The three males cried.

“Naruto is pregnant…” she repeated with a slightly trembling voice.

“How is that possible?” Kakashi was the only one able to speak.

“Kyuubi?” the blonde suddenly whispered. “It told me that everything was alright and normal for my current condition!”

Sasuke stared at the blonde. “What?!”

“Guess that the Kyuubi´s a girl then?” suggested Kakashi with a grin.

Everyone just glared at the silver-haired nin as he chuckled at the thought of Naruto with a huge round belly.

´ You’re a girl? ´ Naruto stared at the huge figure inside the cage in his mind.

´That’s right, kit… I´m a girl… Aren’t you happy?” The Kyuubi purred with satisfaction.

´ And why would I be happy about being pregnant? It´s not normal for a guy to have kids like this! ´

´ Heh… heh… this fulfills your lover’s dreams… to be happy with you and have a real family with you! ´

´I know… ´ Naruto sighed. ´ But you could have warned me… and how could I possible be pregnant? ´

´ Remember the first night here in Oto-Gakure? You had sex with your sexy lover as a girl! It only takes once to get pregnant, ya know! ´ The fox chuckled.

´That’s why you were so eager to talk me into it… stupid fox!”

´Heh heh… You should thank me! Don´t you want to have a real family with the man of your dreams? ´

´Sure I want to… thank you… ´ he mumbled. ´ So how is this going to work? ´

´ I changed your insides to make you female, so don´t worry. As long as you’re pregnant I’ll make sure that everything goes smoothly.´

´How do I give… um… birth then? ´ He sounded a bit worried.

´ The little girl will explain it to you later, so don´t worry about that yet! ´ the fox yawned. The effort to keep Naruto´s body like this was restraining her powers greatly.

´So why do you do this for him and me? ´ Naruto asked.

´Guess I want to see both of you happy… I’ve kinda grown to like you, kit! ´

´Thank you… I love you too, ´ he said with honestly.

´You should go and celebrate with your lover… It’s his birthday after all and I need to rest.´ Naruto could feel her blushing.

She was happy and suddenly she didn’t regret to have become a part of the young loud blonde… She felt at home… like she had always been destined to become a part of this joyful boy. It was only sad that so many… including the blonde’s father had to die in the progress and that Naruto had to grow up on his own.
