Yume To Akumu

So sorry for the short chapter after the long wait. My muse just all of a sudden started singing and then just stopped. So here is what she gave. Sorry for it being so short, I've been busy.

When I woke up it was to a god awful beeping sound in my ear. When I tried to open my eyes I was blinded by a pure white light. I was a full minute before I slowly cracked my eyes open again.

I was in a white room that smelled like antiseptic. The strong reek made me crinkle my nose in acute discomfort. As I looked around I recognized the room as one in Konoha hospital.

After sniffing out some of my clothes in the closet in the room I got dressed and made my way out into the hall. Down the hall I could see Sakura talking to Naruto and some friends.

Felling safer just seeing him I walked quickly down the hall. Sakura was the first to spot me.

"Sasuke? What are you doing out of bed? You need your rest!" she said.

I wasn't listing to her, so focused on getting to Naruto. When I reached him he held his arms out to ma and I eagerly stepped into them. Without thought I leaned up to sniff at the mark I had given him.

The instant the scent his my nose I jumped back, my ears out and laying flat on the top of my head, my tails twitching with my sudden anger. My teeth bared in a growling hiss.

I took a few steps back from his still growling. While everyone gave me looks of shock.

"Sasuke? What's wrong?" someone over Naruto's shoulder asked.

I didn't even spare them a glance. I was keeping an eye on Naruto, who still hasn't moved. He wasn't smiling, but nor was he frowning. I could tell he knew that this would happen.

He knew that he wasn't real. That he wasn't MY Naruto. The closer I looked at hi the more I could SEE how different he was.

His eyes where slightly washed out and his hair didn't hold the same shimmer it once had. His skin seemed paler than it should and his scent was off.

It was my nightmare all over again.

After everyone tried their best to reassure me that the man that sat across the room from me was really Naruto with little success, Naruto was moved out of the room and away from me. The others left soon after to comfort Naruto, who had been strangle silent the entire time.

As I looked around I noticed other things that where off. The sun made strange shapes when it filtered through the window and the trees outside looked sick. I'm not really sure how but they did.

Going over every last detail of my memory I noticed other things wrong. Dad had smiled at me before I left, Itachi gave me a hug, and mom had whispered that I not get into too much trouble. Dad never smiled, Itachi didn't like touching, and mom didn't have the ability to whisper.

And Naruto. Not much was different with him. But thinking back I could remember two different Naruto's. Like in my dream one was the one I talked to and held hands with all day.

The one I thought I knew.

And then when we where in the den, I remember a different Naruto. He was bright. His eyes where the right shade, his scent was right and he was the one that carried my mark.

The one that seemed real.

I was so caught up in my thoughts that it only noticed when HE entered when he sat across the room from me.

Immediately I let out a growl.

"Don't worry. I'm not stupid enough to get any closer. I just want to talk." it said.

I refused to think of it as Naruto. It was NOT him. No matter how much it looked or sounded like him.

"You are not Naruto." I said. "You may look like him, you may sound like him and you may fool all of them but I know."

"I know. I noticed it when they let me in to see you when you where sleeping." he looked out the window unable or unwilling to meet my eyes. "You don't smell right. But then the more I though about it the more I realized that it was me that wasn't right.

"It shouldn't be posable but the more I thought the more I realized. You know where we are don't you?"

"We're in a genjutsu." He nodded.

"Tell me every thing you know." I growled.

"I will tell you if only because I love you." he said sadly.

Narrator POV real world.

"Do you have any kind of plan?" Orochimaru asked.

"Yep. Get Sasuke." Naruto replied.

"Yes but do you have a way to do that? You know the vines will not make it easy."

"I know but I wasn't just trying to reach Sasuke the last time I was here. I was gardening too."

"Gardening?"

"I planted a special seed that should have taken root by now. I've been working on it for a while now. It will kill the main vine. Once that one falls the others will soon follow."

"Nice." was all he snake man said.
