Coming out? Why thank you.

At 7:30 am sharp, there was a knock at Gai's door.

Half way buried in his pillow Gai didn't do anymore then twitch for a moment at the sound intruding into the quiet room, but easily settled back into his dream.

Outside, Tenten was worried. Gai-sensei was NEVER late for training. Ever. In fact, that she could recall, he was never on-time, either. No matter when they got to the training grounds, Gai had already been there for at least an hour already. She'd already checked the hospital and every training ground, this was the only place left. Silently, she took to the roof and began looking for any unlocked entrances to slip in through.

Snuggling closer to the warmth next to him Gai smiled in his sleep, his dream taking on very distinct features.

Tenten managed to find a window who's lock she knew was one that was easy enough to bust. A quick push, pressure in the exact right places, and the window opened just enough to allow her to slide through - she was thankful once more for her slight figure.

She dropped silently to the ground of Gai's living room, scanning the room quickly. She thought of calling out to her Sensei, but decided to search the apartment first, in case there was some lingering danger. Eventually she ended up peeking into the bedroom. Gai was in bed... that couldn't be right, Gai never overslept... as she took a step in to see if something was wrong... she noticed Gai was not alone in the bed. In fact, she recognized the other man, the other TEACHER in bed with him by his distinct hair colouring. Tenten gasped, backing up quickly to the door once more.

The sound of a shocked inhalation had Gai awake in a second and he had rolled out of bed in a defensive position before he could identify the cause of his sudden alarm. Blinking at the intruder in confusion he straightened fully. "...Tenten?" he asked, his hair tousled even more from sleep and his voice rough. "Did something happen?"

Tenten's face was bright red, eyes wide. Yes, a shinobi should be prepared for anything, but walking in on your teacher in bed with someone was a little like walking in on your parents in bed with someone. There was just no way your mind could handle it, no matter how old you were.

"...We were supposed to train at five thirty." Tenten managed to blurt out. "It's seven-thirty, I got worried so I came to look for you, and, uh, you... look okay so I'll just go."

In all this Gai had completely forgotten about Kakashi's presence in his bed and he rubbed a hand though his hair. "Why don't you wait in the living room? I'll get dressed quickly and then we can start training." Shooting Tenten an apologetic smile Gai tugged the hem of his pyjama bottoms up so that they no longer hung indecently low on his hips.

Looking away quickly, Tenten shook her head. "No, no, it's okay! You ... you just take the day off, okay, sensei? Clearly you're otherwise occupied anyway and I don't mind, we can always train tomorrow."

Kakashi, for his part, was not inclined to wake up anytime soon. He stopped by the memorial this morning anyway before he came to Gai's in the first place.

"Otherwise occupied...?" Gai wondered before finally the third set of deep and even breathes registered and he cautiously turned his head to look over his shoulder to his bed.

Kakashi was laying on his stomach in Gai's bed, the blanket pushed down to his waist from Gai's movement. His face was still covered from his arms though, folded on his pillow in front of him. Kakashi slept through the intrusion, silvery hair tousled. The blanket rode low enough in his waist to show he wasn't wearing anything under the covers.

Tenten was pointedly Not Looking.

Blushing furiously Gai looked back to Tenten. "Wait in the living room for me..." It really was more a request than an order. As much as Gai wanted to explain the situation to his female student at the moment he didn't feel he had the right to force her to stay.

Even so, Tenten just nodded before darting out of the room. After all, giving Gai a chance to explain was the right thing to do, and...and... there were perfectly reasonable explanations for why another male teacher whom Gai was extremely close with was naked and sharing a bed with him, right? ...

Well... Tenten could at least explain that she wouldn't tell anyone and that she supported whatever relationship lifestyle he chose.

Sighing Gai rubbed a hand over his face before silently stepping up to the bed and pulling the covers back up so that Kakashi was fully covered once again. Then he pulled out a fresh uniform from his closet and a towel before taking the shortest of all showers, emerging once again dressed in his clandestine uniform.

Throwing a last look at Kakashi, maybe in search for some sort of support Gai entered the lions den, formerly known as his living room.

Kakashi slept peacefully. Maybe that was support, in a way. He probably wouldn't be safe with Gai if he had let the scarecrow ninja leave in the first place...

Tenten was sitting on Gai's couch, fidgeting. Her eyes darted up as Gai entered. Jumping up to her feet, she spoke as quickly as she could. "Gai-sensei! It's okay, I understand, and I won't tell anyone. Not that I think it's bad, I totally support any lifestyle choices you make and I'm sure Neji and Lee would say the same!"

Unable to contain his emotions at Tenten's youthful show of support Gai wrapped his arms around her in one of his usual affectionate bear hugs. "This is so wonderful of you to be this supportive to your sensei Tenten!"

Tenten let out a surprised choking sound as Gai caught her up in the tight hug. She coughed, patting Gai on the back as much as she could. The more she thought about it, you know, the more she was okay with the idea. After all, love was a wonderful thing, right? That's what people said, anyway, and if you could find someone, it was great. "Well, I'll just leave you with your... um... uh..." she suddenly realized she didn't know what to refer to Kakashi as. "Anyway, I hope you two are happy together."

Setting her down again Gai shook his head. "My eternal rival and I are not in any kind of relationship Tenten. I understand that the situation could make it easy to come to the wrong conclusions..." he trailed of unsure what to tell his cute student.

Tenten gave Gai a measured, sceptical look. "...Sure. Of course, Gai-sensei. You're not in any kind of relationship." it was clear from her tone she was only humouring him and didn't believe a word he was saying.

“Tenten..." Gai sighed hoping to find the right words. "Kakashi had a ...bad night yesterday. He came here early this morning rather intoxicated. I offered him the use of my bathroom and a place to sleep. And sometimes there are times when a shinobi can't find peaceful sleep when alone. There is no relationship between Kakashi and me apart from our youthful rivalry and nothing sexual happened between us, all we did was share my bed."

Well... that SOUNDED like it made sense, to Tenten. But one part still stuck out. "...But... why was he ... um... he looked pretty naked."

"Err well... Apparently I wasn't fast enough with finding something for him to wear for his taste. He didn't wait before laying down and since I was still wearing something I figured it wouldn't be absolutely necessary to force him." Gai paced along the room unthinkingly evading the various training gear scattered throughout it. "Can I offer you something to drink…or maybe breakfast?" He finally changed the topic, not wanting to discuss this further.

Before Tenten could answer, the bedroom door opened again and Kakashi appeared there.

Kakashi had not bothered with any form of clothing.

Thankfully, Tenten's exact line of sight was obstructed and she didn't see any more of Kakashi than she had of her brothers over the years as Kakashi rubbed his face, still half asleep, a pained expression on his face.

"Gai, I've got a killer hangover, and morning wood. I could use some help with at least one of those, preferably both." he said before turning to go back into the bedroom.
