That One Rare Sakura

(A/N: This is a chapter with a main SasuSaku pairing! I'm posting double so you can skip this chappy if you want, but a few people were wondering about Sakura's 'scar' mentioned earlier and how Sasuke came to return to Konoha! Hope you enjoy! Yes, it is very relevant to the story, lol)

Naruto watched from the kitchen window leading to the backyard as Hinata pushed herself to do two-hundred one-handed push-ups with her arm behind her back. She alternated hands about twenty minutes ago and was working on her other hand now. He watched Koishubi, Hinata's faithful guardian watch her. He'd grown close to Akamaru's size and just in such a short time: it'd been two days since Hinata had been released from the hospital and she'd been training ever since. Upon finishing her push-ups, Naruto watched her pant heavily, trying not to blush as he noticed the white t-shirt clinging to her chest and the black, tight biker-shorts clinging to her curves. She adjusted the black fingerless 'biker gloves' on her hands before sitting down by the small koi-pond and began meditating to strengthen her chakra. Naruto found himself sighing a little bit as he watched her chakra exude from her body, taking the temporary form of a white tiger before it drove itself back into her body. Naruto knew she'd be sitting there until sunset and it was only two pm. He finished washing the dishes and went upstairs to get changed. When he returned downstairs, he was dressed in a pair of his favorite orange pants and a black t-shirt. He left Hinata a note saying he'd train with her later on tonight and left. As he walked, he noticed the sweet smelling air that had become more noticeable lately: the seasons were slowly changing and it was in the middle of spring. He looked up at the cherry blossoms and smiled a little. The ground would be covered with snow by the time Hikaru was born. So, Hinata was born in spring, he was born in fall and their child would be born...for the time being, life was pretty good, if you excluded the small fact that Hinata would be returning to the Hyuuga estate exactly on her birthday in a week or so. Naruto sighed, looking down. He kicked a pebble and watched it bounced until it landed at the feet of a familiar shinobi. He looked up and saw Sakura, sitting on the stoop of Sasuke's home, looking lost in though.

"Yo, Sakura."

Sakura looked up in surprise.

"Naruto-Kun. What are you doing here?"

"I'm on my way to get some of that special herbal cream from TenTen. I'm worried Hinata's pushing herself too much, so everynight, her muscles are really sore."

He looked up at the Uchiha household and looked back down at Sakura.

"Waiting for Sasuke-Kun?"

She shook her head and sighed.

"No...I don't think he wants to see me right now."

This caught Naruto's attention. He sat down beside Sakura who was dressed rather cutely in a pink halter and pair of black capris. She'd obviously been shoe shopping with Tsunade again because a pair of black, strappy sandals graced her feet.

"You two have a falling out?"

Sakura sighed a little and looked up at the sky with a smile so sad, it was almost heartbreaking.

"I don't think it's gonna work between Sasuke-Kun and I."

"What is...?"

"Sex." she sighed, looking at him with a small blush.

Naruto blushed at the thought of his two teammates getting it on, but asked,

"What, is it no good?"

"Naruto!" she blushed.

She shook her head and sighed.

"It's non-exsistant."

"So you're a...?"

He looked around and whispered,

"Virgin?"

Sakura blushed even worse, looking down at the silver rhinestone butterflies on her sandals.

"I guess with Hinata-Chan being pregnant, the thought of having kids sort of scares him. But...!"

She looked up at him and looked as if she might cry.

"He's always talking about rebuilding his clan and a future and stuff! But then...whenever we get ready to do it...he sees this..."

She pulled down her shirt just enough to show him the beginning of a large, X-shaped scar on her chest. If you hadn't know about the backstory behind it, you wouldn't know it covers most of her chest. Naruto sighs as Sakura pushed her knees together and sighed.

"Maybe I just don't turn him on. Maybe he's repulsed by my scar."

"Well, I won't speak for Sasuke, but a lot of guys find you attractive."

Sakura blushed and giggled.

"I know you did for a while."

He scratched the back of his head with a blush and grinned.

"What could I say? You're one of the best looking girls in Konoha."

Sakura blushed even worse and smiled.

"Arigato, Naruto-Kun. But...maybe Sasuke just doesn't see that. I mean, I've stayed over his place a lot of times, but we never do anything. He just says 'goodnight' and rolls over and goes to sleep."

She sighed, leaning back to look up at the sky.

"I wonder if I'm not trying hard enough. I even bought a pair of sexy panties and a matching to seduce him last night."

Naruto blushed, but it faded when she said,

"But everytime he undresses me, he stares, then just suddenly stops and says 'maybe another time' or 'Let's wait a little longer'. Why doesn't he just come right out and say it: 'Sakura, you don't turn me on'. I hate myself for this scar, but I'm also reminded of how loyal and true you were to me, Naruto-Kun."

Naruto put his arm around Sakura and sighed. She rested her head on his shoulder and the two were silent for a moment, both thinking about that fateful night when they went hunting for Sasuke. Sakura had finally cornered Sasuke in a dangerous rainstorm, his teammates all been taken down by a bloodied and determined Naruto. He glared at her as Naruto stood back, watching, waiting.

"Sasuke-Kun! Stop this! Please! Come home with us!"

She wondered if her cries had reached his ears with all of the thunder and lightning surrounding them. He pulled out his blade and sighed.

"You're still as dumb, as clueless as ever. Give up, Sakura. I thanked you once for you admitting your feelings...now, I'm just annoyed."

He charged at her and she him. He moved his blade, taking his fist and planting it deep into Sakura's stomach. Time seemed to stop completely as she felt her skin and muscles cave in. She thought she heard Naruto yelling for her. Blood slowly started cascading down the sides of her mouth as she whimpered. But the blood from the kunai driven deep into his neck where his cursed seal was, ran down her arm and dripped into a small puddle. Panting, she looked at him, his dark eyes shaking a little. He wrapped his arm around her waist, pushing his hand deeper into her stomach while she drove the kunai deeper into his neck. She thought he heard him chuckling as he barely rasped,

"Do you intend to kill me...Sakura?"

"As long as I can die by your side...I don't really care..." she growled, putting her hand on his shoulder.

"Hmph...I just want you to know, Sakura-San..."

"Whatever you have to say...make it quick..." She could feel unconsciousness beginning to take her over as more blood poured out of her mouth.

He pulled her closer, pushing his fist into her stomach until she though she might throw up. She gasped, but never let her resolve down. He whispered into her ear,

"I have always hated you...for loving me..."

Tears began flowing down her face as she felt his fireblast dive deep into her stomach before sending her a good thirty feet backwards. She watched Sasuke back up a little bit and pull the kunai out of his neck. He threw that on the ground as Naruto kneeled by Sakura and held her in his arms. He glared as Sasuke, but his glared turned to one of panic when he realized he was stepping further and further back towards the edge of the cliff...

"Sasuke! What are you doing?"

He gave him a weak smile and chuckled, grabbing his neck.

"When she comes to...tell her...I've always hated myself for not being able to love her in return..."

"SASUKE NO!"

He took another step backwards and Naruto watched his best friend smile as he descended down into the mists below. He ran over to the edge of the cliff, tears streaking down his face as his cry rivaled the loud clap of thunder as lightining streaked across the sky.

"SASUKE!!!!!!!!!!!"

He heard a slight whimpering behind him and watched Sakura crawl on her belly towards the edge of the cliff. With tears in her eyes, she grabbed the bloody kunai of which she'd used to stab Sasuke...and could only cry in anguish. Naruto, weak and tired and hurt, carried Sakura back to Konohagure, greeted by a frantic Tsunade and Shizune. Even after Sakura was bandaged and laying in a hospital bed, she remained awake, listening to the storm. She looked over at her clothes and weapons that had been laid over a chair to dry. She looked at her belt where she kept her kunai...the same one she'd used on Sasuke. She stood up weakly, walking over to her clothes and opened her weapons case. She saw the bloodied kunai had yet to be washed off. She returned to her bed, clasping it to her chest.

"Sasuke-Kun...I'm so sorry...I'll be with you soon..."

She took the kunai, running it across her chest with a scream. She could feel Sasuke's blood seep into her wound. Sakura's door went flying open onto to see Naruto with bandages wrapped tightly around his chest, dressed only in a pair of black pants.

"SAKURA!"

She looked at him before running the blade across her chest once more, dropping the kunai as she fell forward, blood staining the bed. She saw a sobbing Naruto doing all he could to stop the bleeding and it was suddenly then...she didn't want to die any longer.

"N...Naruto-Kun..."

Tears flowed down the boys face as she raised a bloody hand to his cheek.

"I love you...so much, Naruto-Kun..."

She closed her eyes and when she opened them the next morning, the rain had stopped and her chest was bandaged. Naruto was by her bedside the entire time, not caring about his own injuries. Months later, after she healed, she became stronger and healthier again and all seemed well...until a passing villager from another village came to Konohagure seeking help. Apparently...a young man had washed up near one of the rivers near Konoha...and he was still alive.

Sakura looked at Naruto with a heavy sigh before putting her hand on her chest.

"I attempted to cut out my own heart that night over the great pain I felt...but you saved me. I meant what I said that night, Naruto,"

She looked up at him, tears slowly flooding down her face.

"I really do love you. I cherish you so much..."

Naruto simply kept his arm around Sakura with a heavy sigh and whispered,

"I love you too, Sakura-Chan."

Both remained sitting there, understanding that the love they felt wasn't romantic love...but a special type of love that went deeper. A love formed by an unbreakable bond.

"So what will you do now? Are you gonna continue to wait for Sasuke?"

Sakura nodded and sighed a little.

"Of course. Sasuke-Kun...is my life, after all." she smiled.

"Sakura,"

Naruto stood up and smiled at her.

"He really loves you, he's just an idiot. Remember that, okay?"

Sakura blushed and laughed a little as she stood up as well.

"I'll do my best."

There was a moment of silence between them as they stood there, looking at the row of cherry blossoms, or sakuras, in the distance and watched how the pink petals covered the ground like snow. Naruto smiled and headed on his way. Sakura continued standing there, staring at the falling cherry blossoms with a sigh. She opened her hand, watching as three petals were about to fall into her open palm. She was startled when another hand reached from behind her and cupped them in his own hand. A voice behind her spoke.

"The cherry-blossoms in Konoha bloom the most beautiful. I've learned something by standing under the trees: if you grip these blossoms with force, they'll crumble and die. Yet...there is one Sakura I've seen never do that before. Which is why no matter how hard I have crushed her in the past, she still comes back, just as strong, just as beautiful. Maybe that is why I came home..."

She watched him open his palm and watched the cherry blossoms, completely unharmed, flutter away. She turned around, looking into the dark eyes of Sasuke. He was adorned in a simple, dark-blue, 'beater', revealing his strong arms, as a pair of black jeans graced his lower body.

"S...Sasuke-Kun..." she blushed.

He put his hands on her arms and kissed her forehead and whispered.

"I was tired of seeing such an ugly world...so I returned to the one and only place where everything is made beautiful because of the smile from a certain girl."

Sakura blushed as the tears began cascading down her face. He moved one of his hands from her arms and to the side her face. His eyes were so intense, she wondered if his gaze was cutting through her and seeing into her soul.

"I want you to know something...I have never doubted your love for me. But I couldn't force myself to look at what you'd done to yourself because of me. Your body is beautiful and I haven't even fully seen it yet. But...that doesn't mean I don't want to."

He surprised her when he shamelessly kissed the side of her neck and inhaled her sweet, lavender scent. Sakura blushed, suppressing a small whimper.

"I wanted to wait until I was one-hundred percent sure about how I felt about you. Now,"

He looked at her and chuckled a little.

"How about we redo last night?"

A blush arose to her cheeks and she looked down, feeling her heartbeat race.

"Hai...Sasuke-Kun..."

"I want to see you later on tonight. I've got a few things to do, so how about you come over after Hinata's training...and you can make dinner..."

He leaned in, whispering against his ear as he gently licked the lobe.

"...and I make you my dessert?"

"But..."

She looked down and lowered her voice.

"What if I get pregnant...?"

She listened to the silence then heard him laugh. She looked up at him and watched as he smirked.

"Well...we have to get ready to rebuild my clan soon, right?"

Sakura's blush flared across her face and down to her toes. She smiled a little.

"I GUESS we can start rebuilding your clan..."

Sasuke smirked and kissed the space right over her eye and she giggled.

"You won't be sorry, Sakura-Chan."
