Chapter 17

~*~*~*~*Chapter 17~*~*~*~*

Shinakio was a closed off child. He never had friends or family… well he did have a family but he was the black sheep in the family. He was a child born of a supposed rape. Everyone knew his mother was just a tramp who slept with any cute guy she could. Even though she was married with three children, it didn’t stop her. No, she continued to flirt with men… she continued to sleep with them.

It was seventeen years ago when she slept with a man who left the village the next day and soon after that she found out she was pregnant. She and her husband hadn’t had sex in years so he knew it wasn’t his. She began to claim the stranger in the village had raped her and everyone believed her.

When Shinakio was born, he looked just like the stranger and because of it he was shunned by his family. Even his own mother shunned him. His two older brothers and older sister bullied him and the villagers abused him. Why wouldn’t they? It was obviously his fault his mother was‘attacked’ by the passing stranger, it was obviously HIS fault he was the child born of such an ‘attack.’

Shinakio was hated by everyone in his village, well mostly everyone. Shinakio’s grandpa loved the boy… or took pity on him. Shinakio was unsure which. The man always let Shinakio stay with him as long as he wanted. He treated the boy as if he were wanted, loved and a part of the family. When Shinakio was seventeen, his grandfather died and once again he was alone.

He’d decided to leave the village and head off towards Sunagakure. He would beg Gaara of Suna to allow him salvation. Shinakio had been trained by his grandfather to defend himself and to fight. He could be of use to Gaara.

It took days in the desert before he even got near Sunagakure but he didn’t care. It’s not like anyone in the village would miss him. His family probably didn’t even notice he was gone. It made him laugh to think about it.

The smell of blood halted his travels. Something was injured… something... or someone. Years of abuse would have made him shy away from any stranger, but his grandfather always told him that doing good to others always brought good things your way. Shinakio began to follow the smell.

When he found the boy in the sand, passed out due to the heat, Shinakio quickly began to work, forcing water down the boy’s throat and undoing his shirt to keep him cool. Shinakio rolled out his blanket and placed the younger teen on it. It was amazing how light the boy was. Shinakio knew the boy had been running from something. His forehead was covered in sweat, his breathing was labored. Shinakio just couldn’t find any signs of injury that would result in the smell of blood but before he could thoroughly check, the golden eyed demon jumped over the sand dune and a fight broke out.

Shinakio assumed the demon had done perverted things to the brunette teen, and that’s why the boy had run. Shinakio would have happily died to protect the boy from the demon. It would mean he could go to heaven and be by his grandpa’s side. But before the demon could kill him, three strangers appeared, one being the great Gaara of Suna. The man seemed to gladly accept Shinakio into his village. Seemed the boy was Gaara’s child…well one of many of Gaara’s children: Yuudai Uzumaki.

It was now almost a complete day later and Shinakio felt very out of place at Sunagakure. His mismatched eyes had made the villagers fear him, so he took to hiding again- new village… same reactions. He was a monster and he was shooed away. Though these villagers did not harm him physically, mentally they damaged him as much as his home village had done. He hid in the abandoned buildings to the north of the village. There he felt safe, away from them all.

But then he smelt it again, the faint smell of blood, the same blood from before. Shinakio ran to the rooftops, his eyes wide seeing the brunette from before. He looked upset and he seemed really sad. Shinakio knew exactly how he felt and for the first time ever Shinakio felt like he could connect with someone. He felt like he could possibly make a friend. Slowly he began to approach the brunette, unsure whether or not he would scare the brunette away. He really didn’t want to, he wanted the teen to stay and talk.

Shinakio caught the thrown kunai with ease. He was used to things being thrown at him and it was almost always something sharp. He held the kunai in his hand and then noticed tear stain marks on Yuudai’s whisker-marked cheeks. He gave a worried, saddened look towards Yuudai which caused the brunette to glare at him.

“Yuudai is it?” Shinakio was fluent in Japanese. Though his village raised their children to speak their secret language, Shinakio hardly knew his village tongue. He was raised by his Nin grandpa, who spoke Japanese to him though a lot of words still confused Shinakio.

“I’m not going to hurt you… I find you in the desert.”Shinakio side stepped, dodging another kunai. He wouldn’t hold it against the boy. He knew the boy didn’t know him. Trust took time and Shinakio was a patient person.

“You… it’s your fault I’m back here?! It’s your fault I came back!?” Shinakio felt his face darken. He had nothing to do with the boy returning to Sunagakure. That bastard demon had carried the boy back. Shinakio knew better than to attack the demon. He was powerful… he would have killed Shinakio in a second!

“The demon man brought you back.” Shinakio watched as the brunette’s black eyes darkened, but it wasn’t a glare towards him, it was towards the demon man Shinakio had spoken of.

“So I take it you don’t like Base?” Shinakio’s eyes went wide. The boy acted as if the demon was nothing new to him, like her personally knew the demon man!

“You know the demons name?!”Shinakio watched Yuudai sit down. He was obviously tired. Whatever had the boy depressed was taking a toll on his emotional state. Shinakio felt badly for the boy.

“Unfortunately yes… He’s my pet.”

Shinakio couldn’t resist anymore. He wanted to get closer to the boy with whom he felt all of a sudden so close to. Shinakio stepped towards the brunette slowly, remember how when his grandpa’s cat got injured, she had the same look this boy did, scared, sad, and untrusting. Shinakio had to catch the cat to treat her and to do that he had to approach her slowly. So he did the same thing to Yuudai. He wouldn’t do anything to scare the other away.

“May I sit with you?”

“Isn’t it customary to give your name to someone before getting their name?” Shinakio’s body stiffened, his eyes went wide. He had no clue what Yuudai’s words meant. He was fluent in Japanese but the boy had used so many words at once, so fast. Shinakio was confused and lost.

He began to shift from one foot to the other. He understood the words ‘name to someone’ and he prayed he didn’t offend Yuudai in some way and make the other hate him. Shinakio never did have any friends. The only other person he was on good terms with was his grandpa.

“What is your name?” He understood that, Yuudai wasn’t angry with him. Shinakio had gotten nervous for no reason. He was a bit or a worry wart, he knew he was. He began to smile, happy he didn’t offend his new friend and so happy he actually understood what Yuudai meant this time.

“Shinakio, my name is Shinakio.” He watched the brunette stare out at the setting sun and Shinakio sat beside him on the edge of the building. For a second he just watched the brunette. He hated to see such a cute face so sad. Reaching into his cloak pocket, he took out the red silk fabrics he’d bought earlier that day. He did enjoy making flowers from silk fabric. It was a hobby and enjoyed very much. Twisting and weaving the fabric, he smiled at his work. The red rose looked nice. He leaned over slowly and stuck the rose in the raven black hair. Yuudai’s eyes were wide, worried about something, before narrowing into a glare. Shinakio looked at Yuudai confused, a small blush crossing his face as he pulled his hands away from the flower.

“You looked sad… I just wanted to make you… good?” Shinakio blinked. It sounded right but yet, not right. Was there another word to use? He was confused so he watched Yuudai reach up and pull the rose free, before his black eyes stared at the flower.

“Red suits you… makes your eyes bright!” Shinakio smiled brightly as he watched Yuudai blush. The brunette was very cute when he blushed. Shinakio hoped to see Yuudai blush more often.

“Thanks Shinakio.”

Shinakio stared at Yuudai. Such beauty he’d heard of only in stories, always fairy tales. Shinakio wondered if Yuudai was a princess, who was searching for a prince charming? Maybe Yuudai was under a witches curse? The demon must have been the curse!

Shinakio blinked confused when all of a sudden Yuudai was gone. He heard a soft mumble behind him from the younger teen, and looked back. Shinakio jumped to his, feet his eyes wide. The beast in front of Yuudai was outrageously huge! It was past Yuudai in height, almost as tall as Shinakio, and he knew that was tall!

Shinakio heard the growl, saw Yuudai’s kick, and witnessed the wolf transform into the demon man. So the beast was a demon? That explained a few things. Shinakio was pulled from his thoughts when he heard Yuudai’s cry of pain. The demon had a hold of Yuudai’s arm squeezing rather tightly. Shinakio’s memory went black. It was a blur, his knuckles felt sore, like he’d punched a brick wall and the demon man was gone. Shinakio ran to Yuudai helping the younger up. When he saw the wolf again he was ready to fight, ready to die to protect his new friend even though those teeth were awfully big.

“I’m done playing the criminal here! You wanna fuck around and spread your legs to every man you meet!? Fine!” Shinakio was confused. The demon man made no sense. Well he probably did to Yuudai, but Japanese was so tough to understand when people talked fast! Those golden eyes flashed and Yuudai was suddenly on the ground in obvious pain and distress. A new scent filled the air, a huge amount of blood and sexual musk. Shinakio had never had sex in his life, but he knew the smell of sex, of semen. It always covered his mother after she came home from a‘friends’ place. Had this demon raped Yuudai? If so, how did the smell get covered up? Did it just happen? But Shinakio was sure he hadn’t blanked out again.

“What you do demon!?” Shinakio saw the golden eyes narrow at him. He felt scared. Those were the eyes of monster, a beast!

“I took back the gift bestowed upon him from the gods. His body is just as it was before my brother found him. Yuudai’s body is tainted by a real demon.”

Shinakio shook. He wanted to grab Yuudai, to hold him and sooth him like his grandpa used to do to him when he was a child and injured, but he knew that if he touched Yuudai right now it would only cause pain to the boy. Yuudai’s body began to shake and heave. He was trying to throw up, but obviously had nothing to throw up.

The demons eyes flashed again but nothing happened. For the first time in his life Shinakio wasn’t scared of a demon. He grabbed the wolf’s muzzle and pulled him down. He hated the demon for causing pain to his friend. He wanted to kill the demon! But the demon was the only one who could save Yuudai!

“Help him!” The demon pulled free, turning human once again. He picked Yuudai up and Shinakio saw it. The demon truly loved Yuudai and he was regretting what he did. Sometimes you do horrible things to the ones you love, especially when jealousy is involved. Shinakio shook when Yuudai was pushed into his arms.

“Take him to the hospital. I will be back with help.”

Shinakio frowned. The damn demon spoke too fast again. He was lucky to have understood ‘hospital’ and ‘back with help.’ Shinakio watched the demon run off towards the gates of Suna. Shinakio held Yuudai close as he began to run towards the hospital, praying Yuudai would be ok.
