Because You’re There
Sasuke was exhausted both emotionally and physically. He’d agreed to work a shift after his classes as a favor to his brother despite it not being his regularly scheduled night. Research for his thesis coupled with his job left barely any time for sleep, much less time for his boyfriend, Naruto. They’d been together for almost three years but over the last six months, things had seemed strained. There wasn’t anything specifically wrong he could put his finger on. It was just a feeling he had developed of late with Naruto’s less than forthcoming attitude.
Pulling his car into the restaurant he worked at as a waiter, a flash of familiar blond caught his eye. Glancing in the direction of the jewelry store two buildings from the restaurant, he was surprised to see Naruto exit followed by a girl. The hair said it all, identifying her as Sakura Haruno. Sasuke had never been overly close to her, only knowing her as one of Naruto’s closer friends.
He watched, dread building in his stomach. Naruto looped his arm around her waist with disturbing familiarity. The two were so comfortable with each other, it caused dread to seep into his very core. The killing blow, so to speak, came when Naruto lowered his lips to brush them across her cheek in an almost gentle touch. How long had it been since he’d received the same touch?
Unable to think, he quickly turn the car over and raced towards the apartment he and Naruto shared. Traffic made the drive slow and he felt his control wavering. His thoughts kept playing in his mind the sight of Naruto laughing happily with Sakura. The way he brushed his lips across her cheek gave the impression to any who witnessed it of the obvious way he cared for her.
His hands shook a bit as he reached for his cell and pressing a button on the speed dial. “Akatsuki. How may I help you?”
“Let me speak to Itachi.” Sasuke refused to let his voice waver. He was better than this. He wouldn’t let Naruto’s infidelity break his composure. His insides might be a muddled mess of hurt and anger, but he would never show it.
“You sound weird, Sasuke,” Karin, the hostess for his brother’s restaurant, stated.
“Just put him on.”
“Sasuke?” Sasuke released a shuddered breath at his brother’s cool voice.
“I can’t come in tonight. I know I said I would but something came up.” He was quite proud of the way he kept any and all emotion from his voice. The last thing he needed was Itachi on his case.
“What happened?” Fuck. He should have known Itachi would see through him.
“Nothing. I just can’t come in,” Sasuke lied less than smoothly.
He could almost see Itachi‘s frown. His brother should have gotten a job as a lie detector instead of going to culinary school. “Littler brother, you can’t get much past me.”
Sasuke wanted to correct him. He couldn’t get anything past him. He wanted to tell Itachi all his troubles but bearing his soul to a slightly over protective brother wasn’t something he wanted to deal with while he felt this way. “I’m fine. I just can’t come in. Let it drop.”
“If you don’t call me tomorrow and explain what the hell is going on, I will come banging on your door and make you.”
“Thanks Itachi.” Sasuke felt bad leaving Itachi short a server but in the mental shape he was in, there was no way he could do his job.
His key sounded loud in the lock, almost forewarning him. The room, a mishmash of colors and themes, was much like him and Naruto. Their personalities clashed just as loudly as the furniture and knickknacks.
Naruto wasn’t there, not that he expected him to be. The apartment seemed too quiet and lonely. Sasuke stood, about to leave when the sound of laughter and the clicking of the lock alerted him to the return of the object of his distress.
As soon as they entered, Naruto paused upon seeing Sasuke seated in the large leather chair adjacent to the burnt orange couch. He wasn’t smiling. He couldn’t. Seeing Naruto bringing her into their home, likely thinking they could fuck in the bed he shared with Naruto. Hurt quickly bled into anger so thick, he was literally seeing red. His fuse was so close, he was likely to explode at any moment.
“Sasuke? What are you doing here?” Naruto hid the jewelry store bag behind his back. “I thought you had to work tonight.”
“I called in.”
Naruto scratched his cheek and shrugged. “I’m just going to change my clothes, I’ll be right…”
Sasuke’s hand shot out as Naruto passed, latching on with painful grip. Naruto shouted in surprise. “What the hell, bastard? Let go. That hurts.”
“What were you doing today?” Sasuke snarled, eyes narrowed.
“I uh…Sakura and I caught an early movie since I thought you were going to work after class.” It was a lie, of course. Even if Sasuke hadn’t seen them together, he would have been able to spot it a mile away. Naruto couldn’t lie worth a shit. His face was too expressive.
“I see. Why is she here?”
“Um…I’ll just go. It looks like you two need to talk.” Sakura moved towards the door almost cautiously as if she expected Sasuke to attack. He probably would have if his hands hadn’t been busy keeping Naruto still.
“Stay right there Sakura. Don’t think I don’t know what you two have been doing.” Naruto, currently tugging at his arm, shot Sasuke a surprised look.
Sasuke had to admit it was pure chance he discovered Naruto’s infidelity. He never would have suspected that and if he hadn‘t come in early to work, he wouldn‘t have ever known. Sure, things had been strained between them, but not in a way that gave him even the least bit of worry about Naruto taking physical comfort elsewhere. They might not get to see each other regularly, but they were both men and fucking was a very regular thing.
“You know?”
Sasuke‘s eyes narrowed. “I know everything.”
“Well shit.” Naruto stopped struggling and sighed dejectedly.
“That’s all you can say? I’ve caught you in a lie. I’ve caught you screwing around with Sakura and all you can say is that?” Sasuke felt the anger he’d somewhat tamed burst free almost violently. It scared him. For a moment, he felt he could kill both Naruto and Sakura. He couldn’t think. All rationale left his mind with a whoosh.
“Huh? What? Who’s screwing around…wait a minute…” Confusion spread across Naruto’s face, followed by distress. Sasuke didn’t care. He wasn’t in a position to care. It hurt too much to care. If he’d been in his right mind, he might have reacted differently to Naruto’s confusion. Instead, he saw it only as a backtracking attempt.
“No. I’m not waiting a minute. I still can’t believe it. I thought things felt strange. I thought it seemed like we were connecting like we used to. I blamed it on exhaustion and being distracted by school. I’m so stupid.” Sasuke pressed a hand to his eyes, tears he refused to shed threatening to spill out. He would not cry--not in front of Sakura.
“Sasuke, wait…you got it wrong.” Naruto reached forward to pull him into his arms only to fly backward from the fist Sasuke plowed into his face.
“Don’t talk to me,“ Sasuke growled. Sakura gasped loudly, rushing to Naruto’s side where he sat on the floor, hand pressed against his rapidly swelling jaw.
Several emotions played across Naruto’s face--shock, hurt, and finally anger. He stumbled to his feet, his eyes lowered to the ground. “I’m leaving before I do something I’ll regret.”
Naruto turned and stormed towards the door. Sasuke moved quickly after him. “Running from your problems, Naruto? Too afraid to face what you’ve done?”
Naruto paused, his hand on the door. “The only one who needs to face what they’ve done is you.”
Naruto exited the apartment, followed by Sakura. With Naruto gone, he needed an outlet for his anger. In a quick motion, Sasuke turned from where his lover had left and slammed his fist through the wall. Pain shot up his arm but in no way compared to that flowing through his heart.
Sliding down the wall in a smooth motion, he sat staring blindly into the room. Hours or minutes could have passed and he wouldn’t have known or cared. The room grew dark and regretfully, Sasuke rose and made his way into the bedroom. The bed he shared with Naruto called to him and he gave into the tears of hurt and anger. No one had ever seen him cry, and it looked like no one ever would. Naruto, being the only person he’d ever considered allowing to see that very vulnerable part of him, was gone.
His sleep was restless when it finally took his mind. He didn’t even set his alarm for class and slept through all of them. If a hand hadn’t been shaking him roughly, he might have slept the entire day away.
“Sasuke! It’s one thing for you to call in. It’s another entirely for you to not bother showing up at all.”
His eyes felt heavy and crusted, taking more willpower than he thought possible to open. “Tachi?”
“It’s four in the afternoon, Sasuke. Your shift started at three. You weren‘t picking up your phone so I came over here.” Itachi frowned down at him, dark eyes scanning him for signs of illness.
“Four?” Sasuke’s heart thudded in his chest. True it had been nearly six before he’d finally drifted off but he hadn’t expected to sleep more than an hour or two. “I’m sorry, Itachi. I’ll get ready.”
“You said you would tell me what was wrong.” Itachi lounged against the frame as Sasuke splashed water on his face.
“I said I would call you. Two different things.“ Ugh. His face looked like a corpse. Huge black smudges stood out in stark relief against his pale visage.
“Which you did not do.”
“Well, I was sleeping so sue me.” Sasuke rubbed his face dry with the thick towel, attempting futilely to bring some color back to his cheeks.
“Interesting. Where’s Naruto? I figured if you were sick, he would be fluttering around you like a little mother hen.” Itachi examined his nails in an almost bored motion.
“I don’t know. He…he was seeing someone else.” Sasuke’s knuckles whitened where his hands gripped the porcelain edge of the sink.
“Come again?” Itachi asked, discarding his previously unconcerned attitude.
“I caught him with someone else, we fought and he left with her.”
“I suppose that explains the hole in your wall. I disregarded it as just another one of your kinky sex games like last Christmas.” Itachi chuckled. “Was this an attempt at apology?”
Itachi held up a small open jewelry case. Inside against the velvet interior was a small gold band. It wasn’t anything extravagant--a simple band with tasteful engraved designs. Itachi lifted the small circle, looking at the dainty inscription on the inside. “To my bastard, forever and always. He certainly likes to lay on the apology thick.”
Sasuke startled into loosing what little control he possessed, snatched the band from Itachi’s hand to stare at the engraving. “Oh God.”
Itachi arched a brow, watching Sasuke’s face lose what was left of his color. Sasuke’s hand traced the band, tiny tremors making his hand shake. It was obvious to him it was a wedding band. Legality or no, Naruto had planned to propose.
“I’ve got to go…Itachi, I need the day off.” Sasuke charged to his closet in search of clothes.
“This is becoming a habit, Sasuke,” Itachi smirked.
“I know…fuck….I’m sorry. After I patch things up with Naruto, things will get back to normal.” Sasuke threw on the first things his hands grasped, turning out to be one of Naruto’s orange tee-shirts and a pair of loose jeans. He hated orange but was in too much of a rush to find something different.
Itachi chuckled at Sasuke’s less than perfect appearance. “I’ll hold you to that, Sasuke. Be prepared to work your ass off once you settle things with Naruto.”
Sasuke smiled, relaxing a little. “Thanks Tachi.”
Sasuke raced from the apartment with full confidence that Itachi would lock up after him and not wanting to wait for his teasing brother to leave before he went in search of Naruto.
He was in such a rush, he didn’t see Itachi flip open his phone. He didn’t see the knowing smirk or hear the amused words. “He has been educated, Sakura. I expect payment in dinner and a certain little black number we both know is hidden in the back of your closet.”

Sasuke fought the afternoon traffic with a vengeance. The store Naruto worked in closed at five-thirty. He could have kissed the ground when he finally pulled into parking area beside the small series of upscale clothing stores where Naruto worked.
Naruto hadn’t cheated on him. It had been a huge misunderstanding and the sooner Naruto was back in his home, the better it would be. The little shop bell jingled, alerting the employees of a customer.
“Oh hey Sasuke.” Ten-Ten looked up from where she was organizing a few racks. “Naruto is in the back if you want to go see him. Tell him he can kick off a little early. I’ll handle closing and while you are at it, tell him to stop being so clumsy. Customers don‘t like bruised up employees.”
Sasuke nodded his thanks and slid silently behind the curtain. Naruto was sorting through boxes of clothes and accessories, his back turned towards him, making it all the easier to sneak behind him. His hands slid across Naruto’s abdomen and pressed him firmly against his chest. The other started at the touch.
“What the hell? Who do you think you are…Sasuke?” Naruto gasped as warm lips pressed into his jaw where a dark bruise had formed from Sasuke’s punch.
Sasuke felt a tingle of guilt for having slugged Naruto. He couldn’t blame anyone but himself for jumping to conclusions. It had just been so hard seeing Sakura and Naruto laughing and teasing each other in a way the two of them hadn’t done in what seemed like ages. He’d been jealous of Sakura. He’d always felt Naruto’s smile belonged to him.
“I missed you last night.” Sasuke murmured against the jaw, placing soft kissed along the curve.
“Sasuke, what are you doing?” Naruto struggled to push aside Sasuke, only to be pressed the wall.
Sasuke breathed in the slightly spicy scent of Naruto’s cologne. He loved that smell. He got hard just breathing it in as Naruto splashed it to his face and neck after shaving each morning. Now was no different, and he pressed his hips into Naruto‘s ass, making sure the feel of his erection couldn‘t be missed. “You smell good.”
“And you smell like a bastard. Let me go.” Naruto’s attempts to push him away only inflamed him all the more with the touch of a firm ass pressed tight against his crotch.
“Fuck Naruto. One night and I missed you so much.” Sasuke licked down a long column of neck, sinking his teeth in just the right spot. Naruto’s accompanying moan was proof he knew how to play the other’s body like an instrument.
“Bastard.” Naruto seemed to get a hold of himself and shoved Sasuke away, making him stumble over a few random boxes. “You hit me. It wasn’t just you accusing me of cheating on you. You hit me. I can’t forgive that.”
Sasuke’s good mood made an immediate U-turn. “Naruto…I…”
“Just don’t…I’m going to be staying with Dad for a few days. I’ll know better what to think and do then. Don’t come around Sasuke. I…don’t want to see you.” Naruto shoved past him and out of the store. The jingling of bell alerting him to his lover’s exit.
What he’d hoped would be a make up turned sour so fast, he was still attempting to make sense of it all. He couldn’t blame Naruto. He’d fucked things up. He shouldn’t have hit him. Even if he had cheated on him, he had no right to hit his lover. He’d just been so hurt and confused--striking out at anything near him. If his one lapse in judgment cost him Naruto, he wasn’t sure what he would do or how he would cope with the loss.

Two days passed and Sasuke refused to speak with anyone. He went to class, a zombie amidst his fellow students. His mind refused to concentrate on his thesis and Itachi told him not to come back to work until he could focus.
When he wasn’t forcing his mind elsewhere, he sat aimlessly stroking the ring Naruto had bought. He never put it on. He wanted Naruto the privilege of sliding it on his finger for the first time.
He was slumped once again on the floor of his living room when Itachi approached him. Itachi always seemed to have a sixth sense about everything, including Sasuke. He barely registered his brother’s approach, instead focusing all his attention on the little gold band.
“I swear you are the most helpless creature in this universe. You look like Golem from Lord Of The Rings, sitting there stroking that ring. I half expect you to talk to it and call it precious.”
Sasuke shot his brother a dark look, but continued to run his finger around the band in a loving stroke. The slap to the top of his head garnered a significantly more vocal response. “What the hell, Itachi?”
“Get off your ass and woo that idiot blond before you lose him for good. I swear, you are hopeless. Just because he didn’t fall immediately back into your arms is not excuse for not fighting for him. Unless, you don’t think he’s worth fighting for.” Itachi crouched before his brother, lifting a hand to pull their heads together. “I’ll help you but you have to be the one who spins the wheel. I don’t want to end up with a blond in my bed. My tastes run a bit more unique. Like for say, pink.”
Sasuke blinked before pulling back and sending Itachi a particularly shocked look. “Sakura?”
“What can I say, she likes my cooking.” Itachi smirked, leaning back to thump Sasuke’s forehead. “Now, how are you going to win Naruto. You can’t just send flowers and say I’m sorry. You need something more. He needs something more.”
Sasuke sighed heavily. “I don’t know.”
“Well, then use that Uchiha brain for something other than sitting in a pile of your own self pity.” Itachi stood, pulling Sasuke to his feet. “Now. Lets get to work.”

Naruto lay listlessly on his father’s couch. Minato was in his studio composing, the tinkling of piano keys had a soothing effect much as when he was a child. It wasn’t enough though. His heart still ached for Sasuke. He wanted to go home. He wanted to crawl in the bed with Sasuke’s warm frame and cuddle.
At the same time, he was so angry. Sasuke hadn’t trusted him at all. He had jumped to the wrong conclusion and then hit him so hard, his face was just now losing the blue and yellowish tint. Sasuke didn’t hold back in anything, including his punches.
The doorbell rang, forcing Naruto to his feet and shuffling across the floor. He wanted to just let whoever was at his door just assume no one was home. It’s not like he was much of a host and his dad was working. Pulling open the door, a man dressed as a giant bowl of ramen grinned happily back at him. That wasn’t something a person saw every day. “What the hell?”
“Naruto Uzumaki?”
“Yeah.”
The giant ramen cleared his voice. “Roses are red. Violets are blue. Come back to me, idiot. I miss you. The guy was adamant about the idiot part. I swear.”
Naruto shook his head, torn between the urge to laugh and the urge to slam the door in the giant ramen’s face. His face lightened almost immediately as a large plastic container of ramen was pulled from a insulated chest at the ramen’s feet. “I was told to give this too you as well.”
Naruto didn’t miss the emblazoned red cloud over the top of the container. If Itachi made this for Sasuke…well, needless to say, Naruto’s mouth was already watering. He looked up to see the giant ramen wobbling precariously back to its truck. “Hey, you! Ramen! Tell that bastard I can’t be won with ramen alone!”
The ramen man paused, seeming to remember something. “He said you would say that and to tell you not to bet on it.”
Naruto slammed the door, storming into the kitchen and pulling a fork from a drawer. Upon opening the container, he was overwhelmed with the flavorful scent. “Oh God. Itachi made this himself.”
Itachi didn’t cook for just anyone. He spent most of his time running the restaurant and handling the customers. That he actually got in the kitchen and cooked, well Naruto’s stomach was nearly bursting in happiness. He was slurping the seasoned broth down when his father walked into the room.
“I see Sasuke’s trying to win you back.”
“The bastard thinks he can win me back with ramen.” Naruto slumped, his stomach slightly distended from the almost orgasmic worthy food.
“Is it working?” Minato asked, tossing Naruto a napkin.
Naruto crossed his arms. “No!”
Minato kept his opinion to himself but was fully aware of the fact Naruto was blushing and not from the heat of the ramen.

“Mr. Uzumaki?”
Naruto glanced up from arranging the hangers, seeing a woman holding a particularly large bouquet of…chocolate roses. “Who are those for?”
“I’m Ino Yamanaka. I run a specialty store that hand bakes and crafts edible flowers. I have a delivery for you. Each one of these roses are created with smooth milk chocolate. The centers are either vanilla crème, peanut butter crème, or chocolate crème. The stalks are composed of spun sugar, as are the leaves. Everything but the wrapping and vase is edible.” The woman transferred the massive bouquet of at least two dozen crafted flowers to his arms. “By the way, there is a gift note attached to the flowers.”
“Jesus Naruto.” Ten-Ten approached him as soon as Ino Yamanaka exited the shop. “Did you have a fight with Sasuke and not tell me?”
“I think the bastard is trying to fatten me up so no one else will want me,” Naruto moaned dejectedly.
Naruto plucked the card from amid the spun sugar leaves, placing the vase of edible flowers on the desk in the back.
I love only you.
Sasuke.
“Fuck me!” Naruto slammed his head against the wall. “I’m so royally fucked.”
~*~
Naruto dragged his feet up the drive to his father’s house. It had been a long exhausting day and he wanted nothing more than a hot shower and a warm meal, not necessarily in that order. Today was the first day all week he hadn’t received a gift from Sasuke. First was Itachi’s ramen…which that alone could have won his heart, followed by the edible flowers, a professional massage, and the complete autographed collection of one of his favorite fantasy authors-including the author’s rarely found first publication. Thankfully, it appeared Sasuke had steered from his route of food. Naruto was still sure the bastard was doing that just to fatten him up.
Pushing open the door, Naruto numbly tossed his keys on the table. “Dad, I’m home.”
“He’s not here.”
Naruto’s gaze shot up to see Sasuke standing before him dressed in simple black slacks and a white button up shirt. “What are you doing here? Where’s Dad?”
“I asked him if I could have some alone time with you. He’s staying at our apartment tonight.” Sasuke stepped forward and brushed his lips across Naruto’s. “Welcome home.”
“I don’t want you here.”
Sasuke smiled devilishly. “Too bad. Itachi’s in the kitchen now cooking for us.”
Fuck. He was using the Itachi’s cooking card again. The bastard knew him like the back of his hand. This confirmed he was trying to fatten him up. Three out of the five gifts involved food.
“Just go, Sasuke.”
“No. I’m miserable without you. I can’t do anything when I know you won’t be at home when I get back. Itachi says I’m neutered without you.” Sasuke winched the last part.
“Good.” Naruto tried to look away only to have his chin gripped and forced to stare into Sasuke’s eyes.
“I love you. I shouldn’t have doubted you and I should have never hit you.” Sasuke pressed a kiss to Naruto’s brow, nose, and cheeks--kissing everywhere but the lips. “Give me another chance.”
Naruto couldn’t lie to Sasuke anymore than he could himself. He’d been waiting for Sasuke to show up, not his delivery men or giant bowls of ramen. He’d told himself after the flowers, if Sasuke came to him and apologized, he would take him back. It wasn’t the act of Sasuke wooing him that had frustrated Naruto all week. It was that Sasuke never showed his face. Tonight, however, was a different story.
“I’ll kick your ass if you ever hit me again.” Naruto wrapped his arms around Sasuke’s waist and pressed his head to his shoulder. “You just caught me by surprise.”
“Idiot.” Sasuke pressed his nose into Naruto’s neck and gave a huff.
Naruto grinned snaking his hands beneath Sasuke shirt. It had been over two weeks since he’d gotten off--a life time for the two of them. They rarely went two days without at least a blow or hand job. Two weeks was a nightmare.
“How long until Itachi is finished cooking?” Naruto groaned, wrapping a leg around Sasuke’s hips to pull him closer, their bodies slamming into the wall.
“Long enough for this.” Sasuke detangled Naruto’s leg from his waist and tugged him towards the bedroom.
They both fell to the bed in a tangle of limbs, lips, and questing fingers. Their entire focus was on each other. Clothes fell away in rapid succession until tan and cream colored skin rubbed against each other.
“Did my little slut miss this?” Sasuke purred, running his fingers to tease over Naruto’s pierced nipples, tweaking each in turn.
“Fuck yes I missed it, Sasuke.” Naruto’s legs lifted to wrap around Sasuke’s waist, tugging him closer.
Their lips slammed together, meshing, while tongues danced wildly in mouths. Sasuke pulled back panting, only long enough to ask, “Will you ride me?”
Naruto groaned, releasing his legs to fall away, pulling back to sit. His blond eyebrows arched at the bottle of lube on the bedside. “Arrogant fuck, aren’t you?”
“Would you have me any other way?” Sasuke traced his hands down the tone chest, stopping once more to tease the silver jewelry gracing Naruto’s nipples.
“I’ll take you anyway I can get you, bastard.” Naruto snatched the lube from the bedside and turned his rear to face where Sasuke laid on the bed.
He slicked his fingers, sliding them around the pink pucker before disappearing inside and releasing a faint grunt. Naruto’s sweat streaked face scrunched tight and his very hard arousal hung down within Sasuke’s sight.
“You look so sexy like that, opening yourself for me.“ Sasuke sat up, lifting one of his fingers to press alongside Naruto’s. “Fuck Naruto, you’re practically eating your fingers.”
“Yours too.” Naruto began moving his hips, letting the slick fingers slide easily into his body.
Sasuke felt close to his end just watching Naruto. His hips moved in deliberately slow movements. Each bunch and clench of his muscles created a similar reaction in Sasuke. He snatched Naruto’s fingers from the clenching hole and turned the other to face him.
“I’m going to fuck you so hard, your eyes will cross.” Sasuke positioned Naruto above him.
Naruto’s neck arched, his body sliding down easily around Sasuke’s girth. “Fuck Sasuke. I missed you.”
Sasuke panted in time with Naruto. “Move, idiot before I flip you over and do it myself.”
“Pushy,” groaned Naruto but did as he was told, starting off slow before moving into a harder rhythm.
“You’re so tight, Naruto.” Sasuke’s hands clenched in Naruto’s hips, guiding his movements with increasing ardor.
Sasuke’s hand reached forward to palm Naruto’s erection. “Jeez, Naruto. You’re leaking all over the place.”
Naruto only released a garbled whine, his hips moving even faster Each stroke of Sasuke’s hand brought another small gush of pre-cum to dribble from his tip onto Sasuke’s abdomen.
As Naruto’s motions became ragged and uncoordinated, Sasuke began stroking Naruto even faster to match the pace. He felt the agonizing burn of release, threatening him. “Fuck Naruto, you are gnawing me in half.”
“Ugh…Sasuke!” Naruto body clamped down on Sasuke’s erection as thick jets of warm fluid flowed onto a pale abdomen.
Sasuke’s eyes rolled back and he rolled Naruto’s limp body to his back. Two deep thrusts later, he was shooting thick cum inside the still clenching entrance.
“You are suck a good fuck. I think Itachi was right when he said I was gelded,” panted Sasuke, his hands running back and forth over Naruto’s hips.
“At least I don’t have to worry about you cheating on me.” Naruto nuzzled Sasuke’s chest.
“Never,” he promised. He would never take Naruto’s smile from his face again.
~*~
Sasuke blinked open his eyes, staring at Naruto’s sleeping face. He frowned a little at the dark marks under his eyes but relaxed at seeing the smiling lips. Sleeping alone was not an enjoyable experience and neither wanted to go through it again. Reaching for the pants he’d discarded the night before, he placed the jewelry box Naruto had dropped during their fight and set it beside Naruto’s side of the bed.
Stomach rumbling, both having forgotten about food in favor of each other, he dreaded confronting Itachi later. His brother was quite oppressive when it came to missing food he’d cooked not to mention, he had footed the bill for the entire seduce Naruto plan.
Padding into the kitchen, he found a note taped to the refrigerator and Itachi’s flowing script scrawled across it.
Sasuke and Sasuke’s idiot,
I prepared something that would be good warmed over since I very well doubt either of you will be thinking about food tonight. Just heat the pasta in a skillet with a little oil. Try not to burn it, I know how you are in the kitchen, Sasuke. The bread is in a bag by the stove. Be prepared to work your ass off come Monday.
Itachi
“I’m not that bad in the kitchen,” Sasuke muttered to himself.
Warm arms wrapped around him. “Yes, you are.”
Sasuke huffed and set about taking out the food to reheat. Naruto pulled him around, forcing him to relinquish his food making plans. He saw the bright gleam in Naruto’s eyes.
“You’ve seen the ring?” Naruto removed the small velvet case from his pocket.
“Yeah.”
Naruto smiled. “Would you wear it?”
“Only if you wear this one for me.” Sasuke walked to the counter and pulled out an identical velvet case, popping it open to reveal an identical gold band. “It says property of Sasuke Uchiha.”
Naruto frowned. “Bullshit.”
He snatched the ring from the case, glaring at the underside of the ring. To my idiot, Forever and Always. “Sasuke--”
Sasuke slid the ring on Naruto’s finger, followed by one being slid on his own. “What a moron. Don’t start crying now. You have to fix me breakfast.”
“Bastard! What makes you think I’m going to fix you anything?”
“You said I couldn’t cook, that means you get the pleasure.” Sasuke deftly avoided the tossed spatula, sending Naruto a cocky grin. “I think I’d like breakfast in bed.”
“Bastard!”
The end

“Bastard!”
The end
