Narrator POV Real world.

"Are you sure we can't be doing something?" Orochimaru asked for what seemed like the thousandth time. The two where sitting by a fire, and Orochimaru was becoming increasingly agitated

"I already told you, we can't do anything until the sun rises again. The vines have the advantage at night. If we move now we may miss Sasuke and the vines will have us running in circles. Be patient."

"Jiraiya would never believe me if I told him you just said that."

"Jiraiya is an idiot."

"We finally agree on something!"

Naruto just chuckled.

"We should get some sleep. We move out at first light. When we find Sasuke tomorrow, we will need to act fast."

Orochimaru just nodded. He did a double take when the fire light highlighted a glaring bruise on Naruto's left shoulder.

"What happened to your shoulder?"

"What?"

"Your shoulder, theirs a bad bruise. I don't remember seeing one earlier." Orochimaru said reaching over to tug Naruto's caller down to get a better look.

"Don't!" Naruto snapped, causing the snake to flinch back. "I'm fine. I know what it is. Theirs no reason for you to worry." he said pulling his collar up to cover the mark.

"If you say so. We should get some sleep, well need all our strength if we're going to take on the vines in the morning." he suggested.

Naruto only nodded.

With the others.
"I have a question." Neji said out of the blue. The group was sitting by a fire over looking the field of flowers that had calmed down.

"What?" Jiraiya asked.

"How did Sasuke get in the forest? I mean if the flowers where supposed to keep people out how did he get past them?" He pointed out.

"Maybe he flew like Orochimaru did?" Hinata suggested quietly.

"But the flying snake only obeyed him because of his dead wife. Sasuke would have been eaten alive if he tried to summon it." Sai said.

"Shut up! Sasuke can take care of himself! I could so see you dyeing like that but not Sasuke." Sakura snapped at him.

"You forget that the reason he's here is to die." Kakashi said solemnly.

That shut them all up.

"Hey Shino, have you seen anything with those bugs of yours?" Anko asked.

"No. Even with the massive amount of chakra gone they keep getting distracted by the flowers. Not to mention the unnatural amount of small animals that are trying to eat them. With the mix of the vines and flowers the bigger predators can't survive in there."

"Hey Jiraiya?" Anko asked.

"Yeah?"

"You think you could teleport across that field?"

"Me? No way. Why do you ask?"

"If I'm not mistaken Sasuke has gotten pretty good at doing that didn't he? If he really came here to die then he might have done that to get across."

"I don't think even he could have gone that far. Not with the flowers. He may have used his hawks to fly across.." Sakura said.

"Why do you think that? I thought Sasuke was all powerful. Even dickless somehow got across. " Sai said before Sakura whacked the back of his head, face-planting him into the dirt.

The others ignored him.

"Have none of you noticed that the plants have been slowly taking the chakra from the area? That some of the plants on the other side looked like they where dyeing? I think the flowers are steeling it and converting it into the poison they use." Sakura explained.

"If thats the case you think we should move further away from them?" Kakashi asked.

"No, I think where fine here. Its only the chakra in the air and from the plants. But if you use a jutsu, then I would be careful. It might open your chakra network to pollen from the flowers. The pollen has the same affect as the red dust its just not nearly as strong." she explained.

"Great, we really can't do anything can we?" Sai asked.

"Sai if you don't stop talking I will feed you to Orochimaru's flying snake." Sakura threatened.

"She did say she could see you dying like that." Anko pointed out with a smile.

Sai didn't say another word till everyone went to sleep.

"I'm surrounded by crazy people." he muttered.
