Chapter Two:
Find me here speak to me…

The soft sunlight filtered through the tree outside of Iruka's window, bathing the sleeping chunin in green light.

“ You’re going to be late,” The voice jerked Iruka out of his sleep and he looked up at the window groggily. ‘ Kakashi?’

“ What?” Iruka was still half asleep and he didn’t quite comprehend what was just said.

“You’re going to be late, little dolphin.” Kakashi jumped from the windowsill and smiled down at Iruka who was trying to sit up.

“ Oh? What am I going to be late for?” Iruka gave up on trying to sit up and he flopped back down, throwing his arm carelessly over his eyes.

Kakashi laughed softly, “ For your lessons sensei.” Kakashi put a little more exasperation on sensei than was necessary and he smirked as Iruka scrambled out of bed.

“ Shit!” Iruka ripped off his Hitai-leaf headband and pulled out his ponytail, his hair falling straight and slightly tangled around his shoulders. “ Shit shit shit shit!” Iruka chanted as he scrambled around the room, jerking off his vest and searching for a clean one.

Kakashi chuckled as he watched the distressed chunin scramble around the room. He jumped off the windowsill and he grabbed Iruka by the shoulders, forcing him to stop his frantic actions.

“ Calm down, it’s a Saturday, you don't have any classes today.” Kakashi laughed as Iruka's face flushed with anger, he looked so adorably cute like that, but his thoughts soon changed as Iruka's fist flew around and connected with the silver haired Jonin’s cheek.

“ You…you…” Iruka couldn’t figure out why he was so angry but he could feel the anger in him, chocking him. He was surprised as his fist slammed into Kakashi’s jaw, he hadn’t expected to hit the more experienced Jonin and when he did it sent little stabs of pain through his arm. He watched as Kakashi’s head snapped back and he flew back hitting the wall with a *crack*

Kakashi refused to look up at Iruka as he groaned softly, rubbing the back of his head where he had cracked it against the wall and he flexed his jaw, touching his bruised cheek with a slight smile playing on his cloth-covered lips. “ You throw quite a punch, Iruka, well for a teacher at least.” He looked up and watched as Iruka's face flushed with anger and he sputtered again before turning and storming out of the house leaving a smiling Kakashi to show himself out.

Iruka couldn’t believe Kakashi had been laughing at him, if he didn’t know better he would say that Kakashi had been mocking him. He bit his lip hard to keep from screaming in frustration, last night Kakashi had kissed him and all night he had fought with himself, debating the pros and cons of accepting Kakashi’s invitation of no longer being alone. He hadn’t made a decision and that morning Kakashi had the nerve to come and mock him!!

He felt like all the years of anger he had kept buried so deeply were about to explode out of him. He huffed through the town, making his way mindlessly towards the memorial stones and he stopped in front of them, falling to his knees before them.

“ Mother, Father, is what I am doing right? I know you want me to be happy, but I feel as if the whole world is conspiring against me. Kakashi, he…he wants me to be happy too, but I am afraid, what if I do something wrong? I don't want to get hurt, not again…” Iruka whispered the last words as his throat tightened with the tears that were threatening to spill over. “ I…I don't think I can do this”

Kakashi watched silently as Iruka pressed his forehead to the memorial stone and he watched as Iruka cried softly. Something in Kakashi twisted at the sight, it was so pitiful and he wanted to run out to the hurting chunin and whisper to him that things would be okay, but he knew that Iruka would probably kill him if he knew Kakashi was watching him. He sighed softly and leaned against the tree he was presently perched in. He waited till Iruka’s sobs stopped and his shoulders rose and fell in the soft rhythm that indicated the young chunin had fallen asleep.

Kakashi decided it was safe to come down out of the tree and with shinobi skill he landed softly next to the sleeping Iruka. He kneeled down and gently brushed as few strands of stray, brown hair out of Iruka's face and he inhaled softly. Iruka was so beautiful and he hated to see the young man hurting so much. He sighed softly and reached down to pick up the sleeping Iruka, but when he stood back up he suddenly had a struggling Iruka in his arms, not a sleeping one.

Kakashi was surprised Iruka was fighting him like this but suddenly he realized Iruka wasn’t awake, but rather he was still asleep, just having a nightmare. A bad nightmare, Kakashi determined by the way Iruka was fighting and the little screams that were sliding past his lips. He took off with the struggling chunin, heading for his little apartment that was closer than Iruka's own house and when he got there he gently deposited the whimpering dolphin onto his bed.

“ Iruka…” Kakashi whispered, gently stroking Iruka's sweaty brow. The sight of Iruka flailing and sweating on his bed made his stomach turn and he swallowed the lump that had jumped to his throat. He reached down once again, trying to wake Iruka, but when the palm of his hand touched Iruka's forehead he pulled back suddenly. Iruka was burning up, and if Kakashi didn’t know better he would say the dolphin lying on his bed had a fever.

“ Shit,” Kakashi got a bowl of cool water and a washcloth, gently sponging Iruka’s face as the chunin twisted and whimpered, fighting off invisible attackers in his fevered sleep. He didn’t know els else to do besides that but he really didn’t think he could do anything till Iruka awoke and then he would make him eat something, take something. He piled blankets onto the sick Iruka and he pulled a chair up by the bedside, determined to sit there all night, if he had to and take care of his Iruka.

‘ My Iruka? Did I just think that?’ Kakashi mentally slapped himself, he couldn’t be thinking of Iruka like that, he had already done enough damage to begin with and he could only wonder what Iruka would do when he awoke to find himself in Kakashi’s care.

Iruka came out of his fevered sleep later that night, opening his eyes slowly before closing them again in pain. Everything hurt, even opening his eyes hurt and he whimpered slightly.

“ Hey, your awake,” Kakashi whispered as Iruka groaned. He placed a gentle hand on Iruka’s forehead and bit his lip, Iruka still had a fever but the chunin was already trying to sit up. “ Hey hey, clam down Iruka, you still have a fever and you need to rest some more.”

Iruka looked up at Kakashi as he placedirm irm hand on his chest trying to push him back down into the pillows. He allowed himself to be persuaded back down but he didn’t relax, he rubbed his head, feeling the promises of a monster headache. He looked up at Kakashi and a pink tingle rose to his cheeks. Kakashi’s eyes held a soft glow to them and he was gently pressing the cool cloth against his head. The soft touch and the Jonin’s whispers sent shivers down his spine.

“What am I doing here?” Iruka asked feeling slightly uncomfortable lying on Kakashi’s bed as the older man sat by the bedside.

“ You became ill, you shouldn’t sleep by an open window, and I brought you here, now wasn’t that nice of me?” Kakashi smiled gently at Iruka and he brought the cloth up again but his wrist was caught in Iruka's hand, holding him still.

“ Why didn’t you take me to the hospital?” Iruka asked holding Kakashi’s wrist, keeping him from sponging his burning forehead and suspicion rose in him. “ You…you didn’t…”

Kakashi’s brow furrowed, Iruka couldn’t possibly have that little trust in him to think he would take advantage of him did he? He gently pulled his wrist from Iruka's grasp and he was a little unnerved at how easy it was to remove the chunins grasp.

“ What?” Kakashi had to take his wrist out of Iruka's grasp because at the first touch of the young chunins hand sent shivers through is body. “ What are you talking about?”

“ You know…” Iruka knew Kakashi was a total hentai, always carrying around with him his Icha Icha Paradise and as if proving Iruka's thoughts Kakashi leaned back in his chair, whipping out volume three of his favorite book.

“ Honestly Iruka I have no idea what you are talking about,” Kakashi said as he tipped his chair back dangerously and turned the page. He knew exactly what Iruka was talking about but he wasn’t about to give in easily to Iruka, it was too much fun to see him get all flushed and huffy. In fact it was kind of sexy.

Kakashi stood up suddenly, “ You hungry?” He whispered turning his back Iruka, “ I’ll get you some painkillers huh? And something to bring down that fever okay?” With out another word Kakashi left the room leaving a confused Iruka in his wake.

‘Did I do something wrong?’ Iruka stared at the spot Kakashi had last been standing, why had the silver haired man left so suddenly? ‘ OMG maybe he did…no, Kakashi wouldn’t, he has too much respect for me as a person he wouldn’t do anything he knew I wouldn’t like.’ He sighed and sank back down into the pillows. His head hurt and he was shivering again, he hated this but he strangely didn’t mind being here in Kakashi’s house. It made him feel…safe.

Iruka scoffed softly at himself, why shouldn’t he feel safe? Kakashi was an elite ninja, he would take good care of Iruka, be sure nothing happened to him, yet Kakashi’s strength wasn’t the only thing that made him feel safe and he feel into the sleep that beckoned him, feeling totally, utterly safe.

Kakashi splashed water on his face, turning to turn on the burner so he could make some soup for Iruka. Iruka, the young chunin that stirred feelings in him he had never had for anyone before and when he saw him laying on the bed like that, sweating from his fever and flushing from embarrassment, he could easily let his imagination get carried away and to his embarrassment he had.

He banged a pot down on the oven wincing at the loud clang it made, he couldn’t think of Iruka like that. The poor dolphin had been hurt too many times in the past, ‘ but I wont hurt him’ he told himself as he poured the soup into the pot and jumped up on the counter top. ‘ That’s the last thing I want to do to him.’ He sighed and leaned his back against the cabinets, ‘ Now I am just getting ahead of myself’

When the soup had finished cooking Kakashi silently crept down the hallway, knocking softly on the door before walking into the dim room. He balanced the tray in one hand, held Iruka's tall glass of water in the other hand and he balanced his Icha Icha Paradise on his head. He was a top ninja, a Jonin and he could have stood there like that all day but the sight in front of him made him give out a small yelp and he jumped slightly causing the dishes to tumble to the ground.

Iruka had some how worked his way out of his shirt and pants. He had pushed the covers down and they tangled around his legs, giving Kakashi a generous view of his chest and his lean stomach. He moaned softly in his sleep and twisted himself up more in the blankets.

Kakashi’s watched in slow motion as the dishes feel to the floor with a loud clang and Iruka jumped out of bed with a yelp. Kakashi felt this face flush as he stared at the sight of all that smooth skin and the way Iruka’s boxers slid down just a bit as he jumped out of bed.

Iruka gave out a yell as he jumped out of bed and landed in his soup. “ What the hell?!” He looked up at a blushing Kakashi, as he stood with his mouth hanging open in the doorway. “ Kakashi! What the hell is this?!” He suddenly felt the world spin and his knees gave as he fell back to sit on the bed. His breath was coming hard, just the movement of standing up suddenly made him feel his sickness full force. “ Ohh,” He moaned softly as he put his pounding hen hin his hands, “ I think I’m going to be sick” He whimpered before he lost it all over the floor and Kakashi’s prized Icha Icha Paradise book, volume three.

“ Ahhhhhhh!!!!” Kakashi screamed as he saw Iruka heave his guts all over his lovely book, “ Whaaaa how could you? You sick, twisted person!!!!” He practically sobbed as he leaned against the doorway, using it for support. He couldn’t believe Iruka had just hurled all over his book and it was his favorite one too.

“ I…I’m sorry” Iruka whispered as he spit onto the floor, trying to get the awful taste of bile out of his mouth. “ I didn’t mean to…” He leaned back against he wall that was next to the bed and he closed his eyes to his pounding headache and the mixed scent of his vomit and soup.

Kakashi sighed loudly, “ I know you didn’t mean to but…could you have at least aimed somewhere else?” He reached down and picked the book up between two fingers, holding it an arms length away from him.
“Ewwwwww…” He crinkled his nose and stuck out his tongue in disgust, “ Ok…” He threw the book in the nearby trash with a little sob, “ Ok …just lay back down and I’ll clean this up and get you more soup.”

Iruka nodded but he stopped quickly seeing as the motion sent sharp, daggers of pain through his head.

“ You going to be sick again?” Kakashi asked as hechedched down and picked up the remains of the bowl that contained the soup.

“ No…I’ll be fine” Iruka whispered sitting on the edge of the bed, wrapping himself in the blankets. “ Do you want me to help you clean up?”

“ No just stay there and I’ll be back” Kakashi stood again the bowl in one hand and the glass once full of water, in the other. He headed for the kitchen, depositing the bowel and glass in the sink, before pulling out another can of soup. ‘ Well that could have gone much better’ He thought as he stirred the soup unable to get the image of a semi-naked Iruka out of his mind.

When he reentered the room Iruka was on the verge of sleep and Kakashi roused him gently.

“ Hey,” He whispered brushing the loose strands of hair out of the younger mans face, “ Hey Iruka, Take this and then you can sleep okay?” He placed the painkillers in one of the chunins hand and a glass of water in the other.

“ Hmm,,,” Iruka mumbled but he opened his mouth and took the painkillers with out much of a struggle. He was tired again and he felt as if his body were on fire.

“ You should be feeling better soon ok. Just lay down and sleep alright?” Kakashi whispered, pushing the already half awake chunin down into the pillows.

“ Okay,” Iruka managed as he sank into Kakashi’s pillows, the jonin’s smell surrounding him and giving him a feeling of comfort. He closed his eyes, feeling utterly at peace with Kakashi stroking his forehead gently and he gave over to the darkness completely.

Kakashi sighed as Iruka feel asleep and when he was sure the chunin wouldn’t wake up he stood and went to grab the cleaners out from under the sink. He kneeled on the floor of his room with a bucket of warm water and cleaner. ‘ Man, this is so gross.’ He scrubbed the floor vigorously, trying to get the soup stain out and the smell of vomit.

Iruka slept soundlessly and when Kakashi had finally cleaned the floor to his likening (no more soup and no more stinky vomit) he leaned back by the bed, resting his head on one of the pillows that was falling off the bed. He tilted his head so he could look up into Iruka’s sleeping face, ‘ I could fall in love with him…but that’s not what matters, what matters is could he love me?’ He sighed, exhausted and he though it would be alright if he feel asleep, he was right next to Iruka so if he woke he would know. He feel asleep listening to the gentle breathing of Iruka and he quietly mourned the loss of his book but it was ok, he could get another one.

Iruka awoke to the morning light gently filtering through Kakashi's window and he heard the gently breathing of the Kakashi before he actually saw him. He was sleeping peacefully next to him by the head of the bed and he was sure the Jonin was going to be sore. He watched, unable to pull his eyes away from Kakashi’s pretty face bathed in the sunlight and as he watched the Jonin murmured something in his sleep that made his heart jump in his throat.

“ Iruka…I want to be with you…”

Iruka swallowed as Kakashi breathed the same words he did the night he had kisthe the young chunin and he felt something in his chest loosen, his heart skipped a beat. He couldn’t stand this anymore and he reached over, gently tickling the jonin’s nose causing him to slap at his face.

Kakashi hissed softly as his palm smacked his face and he glared up at a laughing Iruka. His butt hurt like hell but he couldn’t help but smile at the laughing Iruka.

“ Well, you’re looking better. You want breakfast?” Kakashi struggled to his feet and he stretched.

Iruka nodded wordlessly as he stared at the inch of skin that was visible as Kakashi stretched. “ Ummm, y-yeah I’m feeling better and…uh breakfast w-would be nice” He stuttered as Kakashi turned to him and smiled, his silver haired mused slightly and Iruka felt his face flush.

“ Ok! I’ll be back!” Kakashi smiled and left the room, heading to the kitchen, humming softly. He had never had a better nights sleep, even though he was a little cramped when he woke, he awoke to Iruka smiling at him and he would love to wake up to Iruka's smiling face everyday. He sighed as he fixed Iruka his breakfast and set it on the tray.

“Okay,” Iruka sighed, now that he had gotten his heartbeat back under control and his breathing had slowed back down. “ He’s just going to bring me breakfast, that’s it, then after that I can go home and life will go back to the way it was. Yes and I will be alone again.” He finished sadly, the truth was he never knew life with someone else, besides his parents of course, and he was afraid of life with someone else, it frightened him.

“ You want to go home?” Kakashi asked stepping into the room, this time being sure he had the tray in a firm grasp and he smiled softly at Iruka. He had been standing outside of the room listening, with a little dash of guilt, to Iruka talking to himself. He knew the chunin had been alone but he wanted to show the younger man how wonderful being with someone else, but he didn’t want to force himself upon Iruka, that would only make things worse.

“ Kakashi! Ummm…no I don't mind staying here.” Iruka blushed and stared down at the blankets. In fact he actually liked it here and he didn’t want to leave but if he stayed any longer he was sure he would over stay his welcome.

“ We’ll you can stay as long as you would like, I don't mind…taking care of you.” Kakashi blushed as he set the tray down on the bedsiableable and he looked at the floor. He waited as Iruka silently stared at him, his face as red as the jonin’s. He looked up at the blushing dolphin and lost his reserve, leaning forward and capturing Iruka's lips gently. Nothing but the slightest pressure, an asking kiss, not a demanding one and when Iruka didn’t respond he pulled back quickly hoping he hadn’t gone too far.

Iruka wasn’t as surprised as the first time Kakashi had kissed him but he still didn’t know how to react to the gently pressure against his lips. All he knew was the slight pressure felt scandalously good and he gave a soft whimper as Kakashi pulled back quickly. He felt his face get red hot and he stared at the sheets, not believing he had made the small noise asking for more.

Kakashi could hardly speak as his ears heard the soft noise Iruka uttered as he pulled away and it took everything in him to keep from jumping the young chunin right now. He reached out a gently hand and softly stroked the dolphins cheek, “ Hey, eat your food okay? I’m going to go shower…youna cna come with?” Kakashi laughed as Iruka sputtered at the question and he walked to the dresser in the corner,” Just kidding, I’ll be back okay, so don’t wander off. You can get in the shower when I’m done and I promise not to use all the hot water okay!”

Iruka watched, his face on fire at Kakashi’s seemingly innocent question as the Jonin left the room and he laughed softly. He pulled the tray into his lap, smiling at the rubber band laying on the tray and his eyes widening at all the food. There was rice, miso soup, eggs, and fried vegetables, Iruka sighed, how long had it taken Kakashi to prepare all of this? He hadn’t had a meal like this in a long time and he smiled again.

“ I want to be with you Kakashi,” He whispered, “ I don't want to leave, if I am going to be hurt by anyone, I wan to to be you Kakashi,” Iuka wiped his eyes as he finished his little confession and then he focused his full attention to the food in front of him. He was starving and he dug in, ‘Delicious. I bet a woman cant even cook this good.’ He felt like crying it was so good and he quickly finished and laid back,” I want to be with you.”

Kakashi smiled and leaned his forehead against the closed door. Iruka wanted to be with him and something in him swelled. He quickly turned and left for the shower a new feeling bubbling in him, giving his step just a little more spring.

Kakashi knocked softly on the door to Iruka’s temporary room and when he got no answer he gently pushed the door open. Iruka was sitting on the windowsill, now fully dressed and a slight color to his cheeks. “ Iruka?”

“ Kakashi, I want to tell you something.” Iruka felt the nervousness in his stomach twist but he made himself smile and he gently slid off the window, moving close to the freshly showered Jonin. ‘ Mmm…he smells good.’

“ Sure Iruka what is it?” Kakashi smiled down at the younger man even though his stomach was a flutter,
‘Why was Iruka getting so close?’ Then to Kakashi’s surprise Iruka leaned up, pulling down his collar and cupping the back of his neck in his hands and he gently captured his lips in a kiss. Waves of excitement went crashing through him as he gently returned Iruka's kiss, not wanting to scare the younger man and he wrapped his hands around Iruka's hips pulling him closer.

Iruka felt his face flush as Kakashi returned his kiss and he whimpered as the Jonin traced his tongue over his lips. He opened them to Kakashi's probing tongue and he whimpered as Kakashi teased his bottom lip, before diving inside and exploring his mouth. His hand tangled in the jonin’s silver hair and he tangled his tongue around Kakashi’s whimpering, making Kakashi answer his whimper by tilting his face so he could get his tongue in deeper.

Kakashi couldn’t believe Iruka was kissing him like this, kissing him with a certain fierceness that made him shiver. He felt Iruka pull back and with a little moan he slowly opened his eyes to stare into Iruka’s. He smiled slightly and pulled the chunin closer to him, feeling Iruka bury his face into his shoulder. He leaned down and kissed the top of Iruka's head, “ What did you want to tell me?”

“ I don't want to be alone,” Iruka's voice was chocked with tears that he didn’t know how to explain but he felt Kakashi tighten his arms around him and he sighed into him, closing his eyes.

“ You wont be, I promise, you’ll never be alone again.” Kakashi buried his face into Iruka’s still loose hair and he leaned down, “ How about that bath hmmm…?”He whispered into the trembling chunins ear.

Iruka pulled back and looked up into Kakashi’s face, feeling his own face flushing again.

Kakashi laughed softly, “ Don't worry, you can take this bath alone okay? But next time…”

Iruka cried out in surprise as he felt Kakashi squeeze his hips then slide lower as he squeezed his ass gently. His blush deepened and he made his way to the shower leaving a laughing Kakashi in his wake.

Kakashi smiled and laid across his bed, burying his face deep into his pillows, inhaling Iruka's scent as he smiled. Though Iruka had admitted his feelings, Kakashi would still have to go slow, this was all knew to Iruka and he didn’t want to scare the dolphin, now that he could have him, he certainly wanted him.
