Present 2. Lights on the Avenue

Lights, to everyone those are bright colored bulbs just to make your home look good and expensive. To me, lights are stars that you can touch if you just reach it. Lights are things that make our eyes gleam with hope. Everything haves something to do with lights like seeing through the dark, keeping you slightly warm, messages that only you can understand, even the sun haves light-hell the sun is light! Everyday I see lights but the day I see a lot of lights the most is on Christmas night.

Almost everywhere I go I see nothing but houses covered with lights and winter figures. For me, I
don’t put up lights at all, I don’t really know why I don’t, I guess it’s because I never celebrated
Christmas before and that I have no one to celebrate with me. Every Christmas night, I walk around Konoha at night and look at the bright figures for as long as I can remember. Some years, I skip an
area or two because something always prevented me from going.

The moments I look at the multicolored objects, I forget all of my loneliness. When the lights make
their yearly visits, I always go and stay by them for as long as I can.

But as years pass by, people celebrate Christmas less and less, and I fear that one day, everyone
will not care anymore. I want to save my yearly friends but I just can’t seem to just get myself to
celebrate Christmas, and if I force myself to…

I’ll be lying to my friends and myself.

So here I am again, standing by a shop full of toys, looking at the moving lights that cover little
dolls, plastic ninja stars, and signs that fly around the room. ‘This year seems colder than the other
years, that might make a few houses not celebrate.’ I sighed as I put my gloved hands on the glass
and leaned closer to get a better view. The toys looked happy like children in a candy store.

I wish I could be happy like those lights. But I also wish that I didn’t have to be lonely anymore and
to have someone to be with.

And look how far that got me.

My breath fogs up the glass, I wiped it away but stopped when I realized that I would just fog it up
again. I stepped back from the glass and turned to walk away.

As I walked to the next shop, something caught my eye, something big and bright. Turned toward
that direction to find out what that thing was. When the object gotten bigger, I started running until I
fell over a bush. I groaned as I rolled off the spiky cold plant. I then found myself face to face with
a small silver snowman? “Ade?” I tilted my head as I picked up the tiny snowman and looked
around. When I looked up, I saw a tree covered in lights, I smiled and tilted my head higher to get
a better look. “So pretty,” I whispered as I looked at the blinking white lights.

I was surprised when something tugged on my pant leg. I looked down to see a little girl with short
black hair wearing a big sweater that covered everything but her big green eyes.

I smiled and she stepped back. She then looked at my and looked away. She started fiddling with her fingers and looked at me. “Um…in your hand…can I have it?”
I looked at the snowman and kneeled down to her. “Sure, take good care of it,” I said as I put it on
her gloved hand.

The little girl giggled before running off. I smiled and headed back to the shop I wanted to see.

When I got back on the streets I looked around to see where that shop was. When I looked to my
right, I smiled as I saw the very bright and colorful store. I walked up to the window and looked
inside. Just as I suspected, another toy shop. The inside seemed to kind of look like the other one
except for the color moving lights and the moving dolls that shines the light all around the display
table. I smiled at the lights move like water on a windy day.

“I never thought such a “tough guy” like you would look at shinning crap,” said a deep voice from
behind.

I turned around and gasped as he looked at the eyes of Hyuuga Neji. “Neji? What are you doing
here?” I said as I slightly turned away. “Shouldn’t you be home with your family?”

Neji looks at the glass window. “I don’t really like to spend time with those people for a long time,”
he said as he turned back to me. “Why are you here?”

“I just looking at lights,” I shrugged. “There’s nothing else I can do since I have no family and all,”

“What about your team?” Neji asked as he took a step closer to me.

“Kakashi-sensei is “spending time” with Iruka-sensei, Sakura is with her family, and Sasuke is on a
mission. I tried to get a mission too but they gave the last one to him.” I said as I look down at the
moving dolls once more.

“So you’re just going to be walking around this village looking at lights?” he asked, as he looked at
me in a weird way.

I look up at him and flashed a smile. “Yup, that’s what I every year!”

Neji’s face slightly softens. “Do you mind if you have some company?”

“No, so who’s going to join me?” I asked as I looked around. I smiled as I felt Neji gaze on me. Be
fore he could say anything I quickly turned to him and stuck my tongue out. “I’m not that stupid
Neji-baka, I knew it was you!” I teased as I started to walk away.

I couldn’t tell if Neji followed me or not but it didn’t matter, I just wanted to look at the lights. I
finally stopped in front of a leafless tree that was decorated with lights and tiny ordainments. I look
at the tree and smiled. The illuminating lights fill my eyes with bright hope once again.

I heard soft footsteps coming towards me, I wanted to see whom it was but my eyes just couldn’t
leave the tree.

“Enjoying the sight?” asked the same deep voice.
I suddenly turned around to once again face Neji. “Oh, I see you decided to come along, well…then
just don’t get in my way.” I said as I turned back to the tree. “And yes I am enjoying the sight.”

Neji looked at the tree, then me, and raised an eyebrow. “Why are you looking at a dead-poorly
decorated tree?”

I twitched before answering... “Why do you care?”…With another question of course.

“…” He just stared at me.

“Well, I just like lights, is that a crime?” I spat as turned back around.

“No, but it is odd to just stand in front of stores and houses looking at lights for over five years.”
Neji said as he crossed his arms.

My eyes widened in surprise. ‘What! How dose he know?!’ I then ignored what Neji said, closed my
eyes, and walked away.

And he walked behind me.

I walked faster.

And he walked faster.

I started to jog.

And he started to jog.

I started to run.

And he started to run.

I then started jumping from tree to tree, ‘Why the fuck is he still following me?’ I asked myself as I turned a corner and jumped off a branch. I looked back to see no one following me. I smiled,
started walking but as I turned, I bumped into someone and landed on my ass. “Itai!” I yelled as I
rubbed my rear and looked up. “Sorry about-eh?!” I screamed as I looked up at a smirking Neji.

“You know, when people invite someone to join them in an activity, they don’t ditch the person after
they just asked a question,” Neji said as he put his hands in his pockets.

“Well, I’m not like those people. So I can run away,” I said as I tried to get up.

“Well, now that you’re not running right now, you can answer my question,” he said as he offered a hand to me.

I glared at the hand and slapped it away as I started to get up on my own, only to fall back down. I
sighed and tried to get up again, but only to fall down again.

I could tell Neji was getting very annoyed by this, but it’s not like I’m doing this on purpose! Does
he think I like falling on my ass on really cold snow?! I was about to attempt to get up again. But I
slipped over some ice. As I was about to fall again, two hands grabbed my waist and pulled me up.
I, of course, managed to slip on the same piece of ice and made us both land on the snow. And my
aching ass was once again on the freezing snow but this time Neji was top of me with both of his
hands on either side of my face. I looked up into his pale eyes. They almost glimmered like the
lights I see. I stared to lean my face closer but he suddenly rolls off of me and stood up.

My face started to feel hot so I quickly stood up but I slipped once again. ‘What’s with me and
slipping on snow?!’ I asked myself as I felt my face landing on something really warm. I looked up
and noticed that I was in Neji’s arms. I looked at Neji’s reaction but I can only tell that he was
tensed for some reason.

I then realized that I was still in arms and quickly stepped away. “S-sorry,” I stammered as I quickly
turned around.

“Wait,” Neji called.

I froze as I heard him stepping closer to me. “You never answered me Uzumaki,” he said as he
turned me around and lifted my chin to make me face him.

‘He’s still asking that damn question?!’ I slapped his hand away,” Why the hell would you chase me
almost all over the village to just wanting to know why I like to look at some fucking lights?! I don’t
even know how the hell you knew about me looking at them for those years but I’m am not going to answer your question until you answer mine!” I yelled as I pushed him away. I didn’t know why I was
acting like a bitch to him but he was really getting annoying with that damn question.

After a few moments, Neji stared to speak. “You want to know why I’m asking you that question?”

I nodded as I took a tiny step back.

Neji looked like he was going to kill me, I backed away a little more until he closed his eyes and
took a deep breath. He then walked up to me while still having his eyes closed. I took another step
back and asked, “Why?” I didn’t know why I asked that but I knew that I couldn’t take it back.

He stopped when we were about an inch away from each other. He opened his eyes and looked
down at me. “Why you ask, why do I want to know about your interest? How do I know about that
activity for those years? The answer is very simple,” he said as he leaned his face closer to mine. “I
knew you were doing this ever since I saw you looking at my house five years ago.”

My eyes widened once more, I opened my mouth but closed it again. For once I didn’t know what to
say.

Neji put his hands on my shoulders and continued. “I saw your smile, your happiness, your hope,
and your unwanted loneliness. Back then I thought you just passed by and notice our decorations
but then a year passed and I saw you in front of my house once again. I wanted to know why you
were doing that. So in the third year you came by I waited on a near by tree and looked at what you
were doing. I then followed you to all of the other houses. I saw your happy expressions when a
house haves many decorations, and I also saw your sad faces when a house didn’t have any
decoration at all. This year I waited for you again but you didn’t come so I looked for you and
decided to ask you why do you like to do this. So that is why I’m asked you that question.”

‘He…he knew all along and…he followed me and…’ I closed my eyes and looked down. “So you did
all of this for just that one question?” I asked as a smirk was planted on my face. “What a dork,” I
teased as I looked at him. “I just look at them because they remind that I’m not alone,”
Neji once again shocked me again as he gave me a quick smile. I felt my face heat up as Neji leans
his forehead against mine. I gripped his sweater as I moved my head slightly up so that our noses
brushed. I then closed my eyes as he leans in and put his cold lips on mine. I never kissed a boy
like this before, unless you count that peck with Sasuke but that wasn’t a real kiss to me.

I moved my face a little to the side to give him more access; he took that chance and deepened
the kiss by licking and nipping my bottom lip. I opened my mouth and let his tongue invade my
mouth. I moaned as I felt his hot-wet tongue explore and lick every inch of my mouth. I then slid
my tongue in and started the fight for dominance. Moments passed by like centuries when my
breath was being taken away. I finally pulled away and breathed in as much air as I can. Neji
smirked in victory before he kissed me again.

I didn’t know how long we were kissing but I know it was getting late as the wind started to blow. I
shivered leaned closer to Neji’s warmth and opened my mouth once more. But he just kissed me
with no tongue. I whimpered before I slid my tongue in his mouth instead. I pulled on his sweater
harder as I roamed my tongue everywhere, trying to find out what he taste like. I manage to find
lemon with a hint of mint but that wasn’t enough for me. Neji then broke the kiss and looked at me.
“You’re cold,” he said as he started rubbing my arms. I nodded and put my head on his chest.

“Come on, let’s get out of this weather,” he whispered as he turned around and started to walk
away.

“Wait Neji,” I called before I ran after him. “Where are we going to go?” I asked as I tugged on his
sleeve.

“My family will still be at my house for at least the rest of the night.” He said as he started rubbing
my arm. “I wish you would’ve told me you were cold earlier.”

I leaned on his shoulder. “It’s your fault, your kisses are too good,” I pouted as we turned to the
direction of my apartment. “Oh and let’s go to my house Neji, I won’t mind,” I said sarcastically.

“I knew you were going to say yes if I asked you anyway,” he said as he stopped rubbing and
walked up the icy steps. He then held out a hand. “I don’t want my little snow fox to fall again,” he
teased.

My cheeks puffed before I took his hand. “Oh, but I want my winter bird to fall,” I said as I pulled
him down.

Neji lost his balance but he still held my hand. “Oh shit,” I cursed before we both fell off the steps. I
managed to land on top of Neji, I sighed in relief that my ass was okay. But my face suddenly
turned red as I looked at out position. I was straddling Neji while my head was resting between his
neck and shoulder. I lifted my head to look at Neji; he was stiff like he was holding back or
something. I leaned down to capture his lips.

Neji tilted his head up before he pushed me away. I looked at Neji with confusion, he smiled and
touched my cheek, and he then leaned to my ear and whispered. “Naruto…get off of me, my ass is
freezing and I want to get warm.”

I blushed in embarrassment and got off of him. I helped him up and we walked into the apartment
together.

When we entered my room I took off my sandals and sat on the bed. “You can take off your stuff or
something,” I said as I tried to hold back my blush.

Neji took off his sandals and sweater and sat by me. “So, you don’t celebrate Christmas?” he asked
as he turned to me.

I looked down. “No, I don’t have anyone to celebrate it with so I just walk around to make myself
feel better.”

Neji looked at me before he kissed my cheek and wrapped his arms around me. “So you had a sad
childhood, no one liked you or even acknowledge you, no one wanted to help you or teach you
anything…”

I wanted to stop Neji before he says something really bad but then he put his head on my shoulder
and whispered. “But now you have me so you don’t have to lonely during Christmas or any other
day,”

I smiled while restraining myself to punch him. ‘He could’ve at least say that with more positive than
negative’ I sighed and elbowed him in the ribs.

Neji oofed before he let me go and held his side, “That really hurt Naruto,”

“Well next time say something that will convince me that I’m not alone,” I said as I crossed my
arms and stuck my tongue at him. I then closed my eyes and turned away.

Neji got up and walked behind me. “I’m sorry,” he said as he wrapped his arms around me. “I won’t
say that many hurtful things to you, will you forgive me?” he asked as he nuzzled my neck.

“Hmmmm, you can make me some ramen. And feed it to me!” I said as my face started turning
bright red.

I knew Neji was holding back from punching me but he just sighed and went to the kitchen.

I decided to lay on my bed and wait for him to come in. ‘Too bad ramen still takes three minuets’ I
sighed as I rested the back of my head on my arms.

A few minuets later, Neji came in with a cup of hot ramen. He then got on the bed and handed me
the ramen. “Hold this and don’t eat it yet,” he said as I took the ramen cup.
He then spread my legs and settled himself in between them. He takes the ramen cup and leans in.

I started breathing very hard when he was just inches away from me. “Where…where are the
chopsticks?” I asked as he kissed my chin.

“We won’t need any,” he said as he poured some ramen in his mouth. Before I could complain, he
captured my lips. I moaned and opened my mouth. I ran my fingers through his hair as I swallow
the miso ramen that was being transferred from his mouth.

Neji pulled away so I can breath and not chock. While I saver the great taste, Neji tips the ramen
cup and took out a chunk of ramen with his mouth.

I smirked before I opened my mouth. I squirmed as I felt the tip of the noodles brush against my
tongue. I then lifted my head and kissed him. Neji dropped the ramen in my mouth and I gladly
swallowed it before I pulled away.

Neji looked at me and licked his lips. I blushed and wiggled a little. Neji looked in the little ramen
cup. “We only have a little left so lets make this one last,” he said as he took a few stands of
noodles out with his fingers. He then dipped it in my mouth. I quickly swallowed the ramen and
started sucking his fingers.

I could hear Neji holding back a moan. I smirked at the challenge and started sucking harder. Neji
quickly took his fingers out and took some more ramen. But this time he ate the ramen himself.

I pouted and took the ramen from him. I then poured the rest of the little noodles and juice and
left my mouth open. Neji leaned in and stuck his tongue out like a straw and started drinking from
my mouth.

When he was done I swallowed the rest before I kissed him once again. “That was good,” I sighed
as I lay back on the bed.

“Yeah,” Neji said as he laid by me. “So Naruto-kun, am I forgiven?”

I leaned into his touch but I quickly shook my head. “Not yet, you have to do one thing for me,”

Neji stopped and turned me around to face him. “What do I need to do?” he asked as he brushed
his nose against mine.

I lifted my head and whispered. “I want you to…”

“Yes?” he asked in a husky voice as he gave me a small kiss.

“…to celebrate Christmas with me every year for now on,” I said as I kissed his cheek.

Neji smiled once more before he cupped my face. “Okay, I promise,” he said as he took his lips to
my own.

And that was the last time I was ever alone on Christmas-hell I was never alone ever after that day!

I can’t wait ‘til next year little stars…

because it’s called Icha Icha paradise but you got the point right? Oh and that idea I had with Neji
and his straw tongue…yeah I actually got that from…me! Most of the time I use my tongue as a
straw because it’s so long and because I like creeping my sisters saying I’m like Bakura and Malik
(Yu-gi-oh) with their long creepy tongues! So anyway, was that story good?

Naruto: No, why did I have to look at lights? You made me sound like a psychopath! And what
stopped me from going to Neji’s house?

Yaoiloverclause: Oh that, it was because you kept on slipping on ice witch made you forget to go to
his neighbor hood, isn’t that kool?

Naruto: …lets just got to the next present before I kill you

Yaoiloverclause: Oh? You’re going to kill me? We’ll see when I- :looks at viewers: oh I mean on to
the next present!
