Chapter 2: Dreams come true??

Anko had no accurate idea about his dwelling place, but she would find him sooner or later, she thought. The former Sound Village was no longer inhabited, she was pretty sure of that, but Orochimaru and his followers must be living somewhere near. “What will I tell him? This is his fault, I didn’t want a child. No, it’s my fault. I’ve always been so weak when he’s around. My skills are useless.” He had taught her everything, so nothing Anko could do ever took him by surprise. She was his first student, his first follower; while he was the first… “Bastard”, she thought as she kept on walking through the forest. “I know you will find me before I can even guess where you are.” The kunoichi stopped and felt cold out of a sudden. She hated it when her memories came back to slap her in the cheek.

[F-B, 13 years ago]

`The Fourth is dead,’ Orochimaru said, looking at the setting sun. ‘And regarded as a hero for saving the village from the Kyuubi. I thought he might be a bit more intelligent at least.’

Anko stopped kicking and blowing up the surrounding trees and looked at him, narrowing her eyes. No matter what she felt in her heart at the moment, she went on training, training so that she would become someone worthy of… affection? Her last sparks of innocence hadn’t extinguished then.

‘Konoha is not even worth the sacrifice of a life,’ he added, this time turning around and looking back at her.
‘But the Hokages have to do it,’ she dared to reply.

She could see in Orochimaru’s expression that he still hated the village for not having been chosen. In fact, his hatred only increased day after day, and sometimes she was afraid he would become an immense shadow of hatred that would destroy the place where they came from. However, she was loyal to the core.

`I’m sorry, sensei,’ she said. ‘Your dream is more important for me than… them.’

The sannin taught her many different techniques; even if most of the time she trained on her own while he looked for followers with quite positive results. At the same time, she surrendered her body to the older man whenever he demanded it. She missed so many things that she could only find comfort in her master’s lustful embrace. If there was no love in his demeanour to her, at least there was recognition.

Strong shinobi, most of them very young, enlarged the number of Orochimaru’s allies, working under his command in the Sound Village they had founded, waiting for the moment when they would attack Konoha. It might not be soon, he told Anko; it would happen when the Third was older and weaker and the village peaceful and gullible again.

‘Are you tired already?’ he asked her one day, after a specially hard training session in which Anko had started controlling snake-related techniques.
‘No. I can go on…’
`Then stand up,’ he said, apparently disappointed.

She tried to do it but fell on her knees again. All her chakra had been wasted in performing a forbidden technique over and over again, and she was doing her best not to faint.

‘You’ve been my pupil for almost four years, and this is all you can do?’ he said, scornfully.

Anko felt a sudden wave of pain and fell face down on the floor, her nape burning. Orochimaru was really upset with her that time, she thought, and whenever he was angry the dark seal on her skin started aching. She blamed herself for her weakness, for not being able to follow his rhythm.

‘I’m doing… my best,’ she managed to say, and tried to lean on her palms to get up, but the pain was unbearable.
‘I don’t like burdens. If you become a nuisance, I’ll get rid of you,’ he replied, approaching her until he looked like a huge unreachable tower from her ground-level perspective.

Her eyes filled with tears as she heard the man walking off, heading back home without her. She couldn’t move no matter how much she wanted to, so she just fell asleep on the ground.

That time she dreamt that she was given a kiss. A tender hand caressed her face and a voice whispered on her ear; it sounded familiar yet different, it was warm, gentle. Then her lips were kissed, and she closed her eyes and enjoyed it because a part of her knew that everything was only a dream, that in fact she was lying on the ground, abandoned. By the one who would never kiss her.

She was astonished when she woke up and found that she was lying on her bed. Her body ached and she still hadn’t recovered her chakra and her strength, so even if she tried to sit up she didn’t manage it.

‘You alive?’ said the voice of someone who was standing near the bed.

Anko faintly recognized the robes of a shinobi of the sound; she didn’t know his name, but she was sure that person might have brought her home.

‘Did he… bring me here?’ she asked hopefully.
‘If you mean Orochimaru-sama, he ordered me to pick you up from the training field. So I brought you.’
‘Well, thank you,’ she mumbled, and closed her eyes again. She heard the footsteps of the unknown ninja boy walking off and remembered her dream. “I have to get up and find him. Why is he doing this to me? I’m doing my best, I thought I might die this afternoon.”

She finally sat up felt strong enough to try walking. Then she left her room and looked for her master only to find him at the door, whispering something on the ear of a kunoichi of the Sound. Her cheeks were flushed and Anko knew that Orochimaru wasn’t telling the girl about a mission. She felt a pang in her heart and she walked towards them.

‘Yazuo-kun told me you were ok, but shouldn’t you be sleeping, my overworked pupil?’ he asked with contemptuous voice.
‘I’m fine,’ she said, unable to repress her rage. ‘Can you just come with me, sensei? For a second?’

Orochimaru nodded, quite surprised, and the other kunoichi walked away. He followed her student to her room and saw how she leant on a wall in order not to fall down out of exhaustion.

‘What do you want?’
‘Why… why don’t you care even a little whether I die or live?’ she asked, more furious than he had ever seen her. ‘I’m doing my best to serve you.’
‘I did send someone to pick you up, didn’t I?’ he answered coldly.
‘Yes, after saying you would get rid of me.’
‘Only if you give me good reasons to do it.’
‘I was feeling weak just for a while. I pushed myself too hard, but I’ll get better. I can go on training… or doing whatever I have to do.’
‘You’re even letting your temper show, Anko. That means there’s something else you want to say.’

She stared at him as if it was the first time she’d seen him. She focused on the yellow eyes that made everyone else tremble in fear, while she was excited by them. She was scared, but she would go mad if she let all those thoughts stir in her mind. Before thinking it twice, she stepped forward, leant on her tiptoes and kissed the part of his cheek she could reach. The sannin was a little puzzled by his pupil’s strange reaction but he didn’t push her aside. Seeing that she wasn’t rejected, she put her arms around his back and pressed herself against his chest.

Some minutes later, she was lying on her bed again, naked this time, with the desired body over her, touching her and biting her skin mercilessly. Her tiredness didn’t let her move, so she surrendered more easily than usual, and was filled by his master in a matter of minutes.

‘I know you wanted this because you saw me talking to the girl,’ he said as he thrust in and out her body. ‘You girls can be so confusing.’
‘Iie. I…’ she said, closing her eyes and letting the pleasure weaken the volume of the inner voices who advised her not to say it. ‘Aishiteru.’

He peaked without paying immediate attention to those words, and went on moving until the girl did the same. Some moments later, she tried to turn around to bury her face in the pillow, but he tangled his fingers on her loose black hair and looked at her in the eyes.

‘The meaning of that word is unknown to me,’ he said, softening his voice. ‘But I don’t think I’d even consider killing you. You are my first survivor, and pleasing in bed.’

“Those are the two things I am”, she said to herself, her already small hopes diminishing. Orochimaru didn’t even think about *love*. She closed her eyes and felt his lips pressing against hers. “Another dream”, she thought. His long hair brushed against her breasts as the kiss deepened and he devoured her mouth with his skilled tongue. When they parted, she realized she wasn’t asleep at all. He was not warm nor tender, but nevertheless a dream come true was a good compensation for the pain she had gone through that day. Wasn’t it?

[End F-B]

“Will you deceive others with a kiss, too? Will you make them believe that you love them just to get people’s souls for yourself?” Those were twenty-nine year old Anko’s thoughts as she went on looking for him, for the cause of all her problems, including this one, the baby she mentally addressed, the one that she feared would resemble its father. Wasn’t it more intelligent hiding her pregnancy in Konoha, hiding the baby’s existence so that he would never know? For her it wasn’t an option anymore, *he* was responsible so he would either assume it or die. Or else kill her. But she couldn’t care less about dying.

Notes: My paranoia gets worse every day, I hope it’s not affecting this story too much… lol. This chapter is *relatively* peaceful because I really believe Anko could have spent some pleasant moments with Orochimaru. It’s my view… if yours is different review and tell me but please don’t flame me! I know there has been little explicit content in this chapter but get ready for it in the next ones.
PLEASE I’m still looking for a beta-reader T_T English is not my 1st language, it’d be nice if someone gave me a hand…
