Out and About

Thank you so much to everyone who reviewed! And sadly, walz_iz_cool, AFF doesn't like the little bracket that I originally used as part of the heart in the title. I will try to extend the story from the original length that I had planned. Sadly, all that will have to wait until I'm done with finals (stupid summer school) and get some sleep.

Chapter 2:

To say Iruka was shocked would be an understatement. He couldn’t seem to decide what to stare at; the note or the jounin in front of him. Each seemed as confusing as the other. This couldn’t possibly be real.

“Well sensei?” Kakashi asked. His exposed eye was crinkled in a smile and he tilted his head to punctuate the question. After a long pause with Iruka still looking stunned and unable to speak the older mans face fell a bit. He hadn’t expected his arrival to be this big of a surprise. Why did no one else ever look underneath the underneath?

Who else would go to the trouble to spend all day looking like a kid, going to school and suppressing his chakra so no one would notice who he was? He had even gone to a lot of trouble to make his child body look like him and yet not look like him at the same time. The thought that someone else would go to all this trouble for HIS dolphin made Kakashi furious. Before he could do anything about it Iruka had found his voice again.

“When? Or did you mean tonight?” His voice didn’t have the confidant ring it usually did, but it was there and that was an improvement. Kakashi’s expression did a 180 and he was beaming again.

“Yes! I will pick you up at 6.” He winked, or possibly closed both his eyes, it was impossible to tell. Before Iruka could wonder at this Kakashi was gone. The tiny puff of smoke he left behind cleared leaving the dark haired man behind in stunned silence. He thought indignantly that Kakashi might at least have asked if he had plans, not that he did.

Walking home from school was usually time spent unwinding for Iruka, but today he was just panicking. The man that had been abducting his fantasies for almost a year now had just asked him out. On the one hand he was thrilled, but on the other he was uneasy about how a date would go with the famous Copy-Ninja. After all, Kakashi had just spent an entire day disguised as a school child just to ask him out. Nothing about that man was normal.

For at least six months he had been tormenting Iruka in the mission office. At first it was a torment of embarrassment, making lewd comments and forcing the teacher to blush and yell at him. After enough of this behavior, Iruka started getting used to it; he was even able to hide his blush most of the time. This, of course, just forced Kakashi to make his teases more and more lewd. But gradually, and most frighteningly for Iruka, he had come to expect the come-ons and take them seriously. Or at the very least let his mind run away with the images of himself with the Copy Ninja. He started blushing again every time it happened, but for a very different reason.

Still, being asked out by the man he lusted after was a good sign. Iruka decided to look on the bright side and started walking with a little more confidence.

Six o’clock came around faster than Iruka had expected. Maybe it was because he had spent so much time trying to make himself look good. Maybe it was all the time he spent agonizing over why he thought he should make himself look good. No matter what the reason, he was surprised when there was a knock on his door. He threw his hair back into a ponytail, the classics were always best.

Kakashi had a grin on his face that he was glad to have mostly covered up with a mask. It was stupid and silly, like he had everything he could want. Well, almost everything. But with some patience and time he might just get it all. He was practically bouncing with anticipation when Iruka answered the door.

There was a crash inside the apartment resulting from Iruka tripping over the shoes he had taken off too hastily earlier. Thus, when he finally opened the door he was a little more flustered than he had anticipated. Thankfully the white haired jounin was happy to break the ice.

“Good evening Iruka-sensei! Are you ready to go?” He forced himself not to bounce again.

“Ahh, good evening Kakashi-san. Yes, I’m ready. And you don’t have to call me ‘sensei’ for tonight. You’re not my student.” He felt very uncomfortable with the title suddenly. Probably the fantasy he had been having earlier when he was getting ready about Kakashi as a bad student in need of a lesson.

“Are you sure? I seem to remember spending quite a bit of time trying to pay attention in your class earlier.” Kakashi retorted, his voice soaked in satisfaction. Nothing made his day complete like making Iruka uncomfortable. But he was willing to let this go for now as he gestured that the other man should come with him. For a moment Iruka fumed without a response, wanting to scold Kakashi for tricking him and wasting his time in class. Then he realized he was being asked to leave and was much more interested in actually starting the date than fighting.

Kakashi led the way north from Iruka’s apartment walking like he had no particular destination. He was humming softly and kept looking over his shoulder at his companion, just to make sure he was still following. After almost ten minutes of meandering Iruka recognized the shops they were passing as being fairly close to where he lived. He could feel the vein in his forehead throbbing.

“Kakashi-san, do you have any idea where you’re going?”

The jounin stopped at this comment. He stopped so suddenly that the man following him bumped into him. Kakashi was mildly surprised to have heard from and collided with the man. His aimless wandering was meant to be getaway time for Iruka, in case the other man decided against their evening. Just because he had a reputation of being a pervert didn’t mean he was going to force Iruka into anything. Plus for the last ten blocks or so he had been utterly lost in thought, planning and plotting his potential options.

“You have no faith in me, Iruka-sensei. I always know where I’m going.” He smiled in that disarming way and turned to face Iruka. He wrapped his hands around the smaller mans waist and flashed a rapid series of seals behind his back.

They reappeared in front of a small Indian restaurant half way across town from where they had just left. After the momentary shock of what had just happened faded the chuunin realized there were still arms around him. He blushed and pushed Kakashi away trying not to think about how close their crotches had just been to one another. The jounin was looking far too pleased with himself, again.

“Typical! You didn’t know where you were going at all!” Iruka huffed. This time he led the way, walking into the restaurant without looking back. If this date was ever going to get started he would have to do it himself. It didn’t take good ninja sense to tell him that there was a jounin on his heels.

Inside it was cozy and full of people talking quietly. The hostess gave them a fairly secluded table, nodding to Kakashi as she sat them to indicate she remembered their agreement. Money found its way into her pocket and she left without hesitation.

By the time food had arrived the two had been making small talk easily for some time. It was clear there was something the white haired man very much wanted to ask, but was waiting for the right moment. Iruka began to eat as soon as his food arrived, but Kakashi sat silently looking in all directions. He was far too careful about removing his mask in public. During a lull in conversation the sensitive subject was finally broached.

“What were Naruto and Sasuke so upset about when they broke into your classroom earlier?”

Iruka coughed on the bite he was trying to swallow. His thoughts had been stuck on imagining what was underneath the other man’s mask and how he was finally going to find out. The question caught him utterly off guard.

“Sasuke was upset about… something Naruto had done. Naruto was trying to save himself by coming to me.” He didn’t know how much detail he should go into, since as far as he knew the couple hadn’t told anyone else about their relationship. Kakashi’s gentle smile grew tremendously.

“So, they’ve sworn you to secrecy about their relationship too? I heard a rumor on the playground that someone had seen them kiss; I thought they might finally have decided to come clean about it.”

“Yes! It was about the kiss! Sasuke was furious and Naruto was oblivious, as always. Naruto always comes to me for help when he messes up. And I told them they should let it out also, but they won’t listen. I had no idea you knew about it.” Iruka sounded relieved.

“Well, I think anyone who knows them has figured it out. We just pretend not to notice when the two sneak off at night together, or how they always seem to just bump into each other going to the public bath house. It’s scandalous to think of the things two of my students will do in public.” Kakashi shook his head, still grinning, but it was difficult to tell through a layer of cloth in low light.

At this last comment the chuunin across from him blushed madly and hid his face for a moment. When he had composed himself enough to look up again Iruka saw that all of the food that a moment ago was on Kakashi’s plate had vanished. The other man was adjusting the mask on his face so that any little wrinkles were removed. Shock and disappointment registered in equal parts on his face as Iruka realized he had missed his chance to see one of the greatest mysteries in Konoha.

After several more minutes of gossiping about the private lives of Naruto and Sasuke the check came. Kakashi grabbed it before his date could even attempt too and looked at it sternly, as if to set it on fire with his gaze alone. The hand not holding the check was searching his pockets. After many awkward seconds of this his other hand was enlisted to help in the search. Finally after standing up and making a real effort to check all of his little hidden pouches and scattering several kunai and a set of tiny shuriken on the table he was forced to admit it.

“Ahhh, Iruka-sensei, I’m so sorry. I seem to have forgotten my wallet.” He looked like he was only half sad about this. His face showed an apologetic sort of look that was ruined by the smile underneath.

Iruka rolled his eyes. He had eaten out with Naruto enough times to know that look. He left a generous amount of money and left without saying a word to his companion.

Night had settled over the hidden city and it looked so peaceful and calm. The cool air felt refreshing and came with a lingering scent of curry. The chuunin was unsure about what would happen next. Kakashi’s brain seemed to have completely checked out as he stared blankly out at the night sky. When this glazed look showed no signs of returning to normal Iruka said goodnight quietly and turned to head for his apartment. This wasn’t how he had hoped this evening would go. But then, Kakashi was unpredictable, he had probably changed his mind in the middle of the date.

A warm, gentle hand on his shoulder stopped him.

“I feel bad making you pay for the meal,” Iruka gave a skeptical snort. “and I would like to pay you back. Why don’t you follow me back to my place and I can get some money? Or at least stay for a drink?” Kakashi sounded so sincere, it was difficult to refuse. The shorter man opened his mouth to try but found himself embraced for the second time that day by the Copy Ninja.

Iruka was slightly more prepared for the sudden rush and slight disorientation of being carried away, but completely unprepared for Kakashi’s hips grinding into his. He gasped at the contact, sounding both surprised and aroused. The lack of light in the hallway outside the jounin’s apartment helped to hide the blush he felt.

“Sorry, I’m not used to doing that with someone else.” Why did Kakashi’s apologies always sound so insincere? Iruka nodded, not trusting his voice right then.

The silver haired shinobi didn’t want to take his eyes off the man in front of him. This posed a problem as they couldn’t just stand out in the hall like idiots. Somehow Kakashi managed to open the door with his back to it and after a not so graceful stumbling entrance invited the teacher inside.

Iruka forced himself to calm down before following the jounin’s lead and falling into the apartment.

“Oww! What the hell was that?” He glanced back to see his feet still on the other side of a trip wire. Kakashi was by his side almost instantly helping him stand up and step over the trap.

“Such language! And from my teacher, no less” He teased; then more seriously “You can never be too careful when it comes to home security.” Nodding sagely at his own words Kakashi continued to hold his guest longer than necessary.

“I told you, right now I’m not your teacher and you’re not my student! But if you were I think you would be in a lot of trouble for setting a trap for me.” Iruka squirmed away from the jounin’s grip and bent down to take off his shoes.

“Iruka-sensei… would you punish me for that?” His voice was a low and drawn out, like he couldn’t quite get his thoughts together. He had the most amazing view of the other mans ass.

“It is a pretty serious offence; usually if my students try something like that I have to punish them. The worst I can really do is tie them up and yell at them.”

“T-t-tie them up?”

“Well, the teachers aren’t allowed to give spankings any more…” Iruka finished with his shoes just as his mind caught up fully with the conversation. It seemed his mouth had been on autopilot for a while and what would have otherwise been an innocent conversation had taken a rather kinky turn. He blushed furiously and turned around to yell at the other man for making things sound so dirty only to find him sitting on the floor several feet away. Kakashi had a hand over his mask to try and stop blood from dripping through the cloth.

“Kakashi-san, do you have a nosebleed?” He sounded very amused by this. Blood was slipping through the silver haired man’s fingers but he still shook his head.

“Are you sure? Are you okay?” Iruka’s face looked serious, but he was only barely suppressing a laugh. The well respected jounin just looked so undignified trying to hide his perversion.

Then it hit him. HE had given Sharingan no Kakashi a nosebleed. Iruka’s eyes were drawn to rest on his crotch where standard issue ninja pants were not hiding a bulge. He was just a chuunin, a teacher, nothing special. But here was very solid evidence that he was arousing to this sexy jounin.

The only question now was what he was going to do about it.

To be continued.
