Chapter One: A New Stalker__
When Uchiha Sasuke woke up the next morning, everything was perfectly at its norm. His buzzer was blaring in his ear, telling him he had school to go to and the sunlight was shining through into his eyes as if to say ‘don’t you dare go back to sleep’. As he sat up and yawned, shoving the blankets off him, his hair was messy like usual and his pjs were rumpled. With everything the way it was, he could never imagine in the least that anything about his life had changed.
Yet that had been an awfully odd dream he’d had last night. He couldn’t remember it all that much, but he could recall dreaming for a moment that he’d woken up to find something like an angel hovering above him, blue eyes and a gentle smile turned down on him as he’d slept. Letting out a short strained chuckle at the stupidity of some of his dreams, Sasuke shook his head and headed into the bathroom to freshen himself with a shower and such.
Afterwards, he pulled on some loose jeans and a black t-shirt sporting the image of his favorite band, the Akutsuki, on the back. He pulled on his socks, and then padded out of his room to the kitchen for some breakfast.
“MORNING!!!”
Sasuke froze as he was suddenly hugged by a complete stranger in his kitchen. Standing their stiff and wide eyed in confusion, he sweatdropped slightly and looked at this kid slightly freaked out. “Wha…who…”
The kid chuckled and nuzzled him before letting go and bouncing back on his feet, grinning a toothy grin at him, “Hiya, Sasuke! Boy, I thought you’d never wake up. I made you breakfast and your bag is already packed for school and everything!”
Sasuke stood there just staring at the kid, “Who are you and what are you doing in my house?”
He was a boy who seemed about his age in blue jeans and an orange shirt with a mass of blonde hair on his head and odd whisker marks on his cheeks. There was a red swirly design on the arms of his t-shirt and a silver chain necklace rest around his neck with an old shinobi style shuriken strung on it. The kid would make you think Japanese, and then make you doubt that thought when you saw his blonde hair and bright blue eyes.
“Oops! Right,” The guy chuckled, flashing him that grin again before pointing at himself proudly. “I am your guardian angel! You can call me Naruto. I’m here to make sure you’re happy and safe from this day forth!”
“Uhhh…right…” Sasuke blinked, slightly confused and wondering if he was dreaming.
“Come! Eat!” Naruto smiled happily and grabbed hold of his wrist, hauling the still in shock youth to his dinning table. Naruto sat him down, then stood there smiling happily with his arms crossed behind his back.
Sasuke looked at the ‘food’ on the plate in front of him. Or at least…he figured it was supposed to be food. Though he suspected that if it had been food at one time then any trace of ‘food’ in it was surely gone. He glanced at the blonde who was standing there obviously waiting for approval, then picked up his fork and poked slightly at the blackened bits on the plate. What was once probably bacon crumbled into black ash at the slight nudge of his fork.
He sweatdropped.
“So! Is it good?” Naruto asked, searching for approval.
Sasuke pushed the plate away, not feeling up to getting food poisoning that morning. “I’ve got to get to school.”
Naruto pouted, which would have amazed the other with its perfect example of a true *pout* if he’d not still been in a mild state of shocked confusion.
Sasuke stood and quickly grabbed his stuff, walking out of his apartment and locking the door behind him. He stood there for a few moments, before unlocking his door and entering his apartment again. Had there just been a complete stranger in his house claiming to be an angel? He looked around, but his place was empty as it had always been. The burnt breakfast was not at the table nor were there any dirty dishes in the sink hinting to its existence. Shaking his head, Sasuke headed back outside and on his way to school.
“Must have imagined that…” Sasuke mumbled to himself, shaking his head again. He needed to study a bit less and sleep a bit more. He was starting to see imaginary things.
After walking his usual path to school, Sasuke nodded when he spotted Hinata and Shikamaru hanging around by the tree in front of the school building obviously waiting on him. Stepping up to join them, Sasuke sighed and turned to Shikamaru.
“Did you get yesterday’s science homework?”
Shikamaru looked at him like that was the dumbest question and pushed himself up from the tree, “It was too troublesome to bother with.”
“I…I did…” Hinata spoke up shyly.
Sasuke rolled his eyes at the brunette and turned, walking with Hinata towards the school building, “What answer did you get for question twelve? I got something about the nucleus.”
Hinata looked at the paper he offered up and hmmed thoughtfully, “I got the nucleus to.”
“Waste of time,” Shikamaru sighed and followed a bit behind them, looking up at the sky until they were inside the building. He then developed an even more bored expression, stuffing his hands into his pockets as they entered the classroom and took their seats.
Sasuke settled down, continuing to discuss and compare homework with Hinata. After a while, he relaxed and set his checked homework aside. “Man…the weirdest thing happened to me this morning.”
Shikamaru looked about as interested as a kid was with the news channel. However, Hinata perked up and smiled, always one to enjoy the rare conversations they sometimes got involved in between the three of them.
“Really?”
Sasuke nodded, unphased by either of the two’s reactions. “Yeah. I must have been half asleep or something. There was this weird kid in my kitchen claiming he was an angel and he tried to make me eat the most charred bit of food I’d ever seen.”
“You should sleep more,” Was Shikamaru’s lazy reply.
“Um…what did this kid look like?” Hinata asked with a slightly perplexed look.
Sasuke shrugged and brushed his bangs out of his face, “Blonde hair, blue eyes, weird marks all on his cheeks…”
Hinata’s eyes widened slightly and she blushed, raising her hand and pointing behind Sasuke, “Um…Sasuke-kun…”
“Hn? What?” Sasuke frowned and turned to look out the school window that was behind him by his desk. He eyes widened slightly in shock as once again he came face to face with said blonde. “WAH!?”
Naruto was out on the other side of the window, pressed up against the glass as if trying to go through it and knocking, “Sasuke!!! Hiya!!”
He then lost his grip for a moment and tipped back slightly on the window sill, arms flailing as he tried to regain his balance. “YEAAHHH!!!”
Shikamaru looked utterly surprised while Hinata and Sasuke both shot to their feet and had the window open in an instant, each grabbing one of the blonde’s arms and hauling the kid inside the building before he could fall two stories down to the ground.
“YOU! What are you doing here!?!” Sasuke shouted at the blonde, drawing stares from the other occupants of the room.
Naruto regathered himself for a moment, before grinning innocently and rubbing the back of his neck with a relieved laugh. He then registered the question and hopped to his feet, suddenly glomping Sasuke happily, “YOU SAVED ME!!”
Sasuke sweatdropped as he was once again hugged by the weird blonde. “Um….your welcome?”
Hinata blushed lightly, staring at Naruto in complete fascination.
Naruto nuzzled Sasuke happily, “Sasuke, you’re so kind! Oh, I forgot to tell you, I’m going to the same school as you! We’re in the same grade and have all the same classes together, so I’ll be able to protect you at all times!!”
Shikamaru watched this little exchange along with the rest of the class, eyebrows rising up as the blonde starting talking about all the fun he and Sasuke would share and stuff.
Sasuke looked utterly freaked out now, partially because this kid he’d never met before in his life was cuddling him in the middle of his class and partially because of all the stuff said blonde was rambling off about. After several attempts, he finally managed to pry the blonde off him and hold the other away at least two steps from his body.
Naruto stood aside as moved by said boy and continued to smile happily, completely unbothered by Sasuke’s cold behavior. Whispers suddenly broke out among the students; some of the girls glaring at Naruto while others where staring, blushing, and giggling with their friends. Most of the guys seemed either thoroughly amused by the scene before them or utterly surprised that Sasuke hadn’t killed said blonde yet.
Sasuke made to say something but just then the teacher walked in and frowned at the gather of students in one area of his classroom, “Excuse me…Is something going on that I don’t know about?”
Students gasped and rushed to take their seats, leaving only a blushing Hinata, an unnerved Sasuke, and a carefree happy Naruto left standing. Hinata quickly apologized and moved to take her seat, about dieing from blushing in embarrassment. This left Sasuke and Naruto.
“HIYA!” Naruto smiled and greeted the teacher.
Umino Iruka blinked slightly, surprised with this kid’s friendly attitude, “Hello…you’re the new student. Am I right?”
Naruto nodded and made his way up to the front of the class without hesitation or hint of nervousness. He turned and grinned at the entire class fearlessly, “Hello people! I’m Uzumaki Naruto! I’m Sasuke’s guardian angel and when I grow up I wanna be the Head Angel of my order!”
Iruka and the rest of his class sweatdropped, the general thought running through all their heads being ‘what a weird kid’.
Sasuke sunk down into his seat and let his head fall onto the desk, his thoughts along the lines of ‘why is it always me?’.
An hour later signaled the end of morning lab and most kids took their time leaving, unwilling to head to their next class early. Sasuke couldn’t give a damn, so he packed up his stuff and headed out with Hinata and Shikamaru.
A couple steps past the door and then…
“Wait up, Sasuke!!”
Naruto rushed out after them, after being held up when he was having some slight trouble with his backpack. He quickly caught up with the three and glomped onto Sasuke from behind, hugging the other.
Sasuke stiffened then scowled, really starting to get annoyed with the blonde. Did this kid really want to die this much? Sasuke was about to murder said blonde when another even more irking voice shouted over the sounds of the school hallway.
“SASUKE-KUN!!!”
Shikamaru sensed trouble and quickly made his way to class, which was an oddity for him since he hardly ever rushed anything. Thus this provided some warning to those who didn’t already know the horror of what was about to appear before them.
Haruno Sakura rushed up to Sasuke with a love-stricken expression, until she noticed the blonde hugging her future boyfriend. “Who the hell are you!? Let go of my Sasuke-kun!”
Naruto blinked like the blonde he was, confused with the girl’s anger. Had he done something wrong? “You’re…Sasuke?”
“Sakura…bug off,” Sasuke growled out at her, fixing her with a death glare.
Sakura ignored Sasuke’s death glare, immune to them much to his annoyance as mentioned before. She glared at Naruto looking ready to kill. “I heard rumors about you! You’re the new kid that’s been man-handling my Sasuke-kun!!!”
“Um…Sakura-chan…” Hinata nervously spoke up, hoping to quail the storm but not having the courage or inner strength to really assert herself.
“Yep!” Naruto smiled, still not seeing how he’d done anything wrong and not understanding the term ‘manhandling’ in the least bit. “I’m Uzumaki Naruto, Sasuke’s guardian angel! I’m here to make Sasuke happy and protect-ugh...HEY!!”
Sakura had grabbed onto him, trying to pry him off her Sasuke. Very much confused and now slightly scared, Naruto clung to Sasuke tighter with tears at the edges of his eyes.
“STOP! Lemme go!!”
“NO! Let Sasuke-kun go you annoyingly ugly blonde weirdo!!!!”
“WAAHH!! STOP!!!”
“LET GO!!!”
Sasuke was being chocked during this little scene, and once again half the school’s students were watching curiously.
“Sasuke-kun? Hey! What’s going on!?” Another voice spoke up, and to Sasuke’s horror Yamanaka Ino appeared from among the crowd of students, her eyes widening at the scene in front of her.
“Hey! Stop that! Let go of Sasuke-kun!!”
She rushed forward and grabbed onto Naruto’s arms that were wrapped around Sasuke’s neck, trying to pry him off as well.
Poor Naruto, confused all to hell and scared to death, clung to Sasuke for dear life as two strange girls tried to pull him in half and worse…take him away from his charge. “STOP!!”
Iruka stepped out of the classroom, drawn by the racket they were making, and saw the scene in front of him with a look of shock and uncertainty. Well…what to do in this sort of situation?
Sasuke was still being chocked and Ino was not helping screaming his ear off. He attempted to reach for one of the smoke bombs kept in a small pouch at his side, but then realized with horror that in his dazed state that morning he’d forgotten to grab said pouch and belt. And far worse seemed that the fight over him was escalating out of control.
“LET HIM GO!”
“STOP CHOCKING SASUKE-KUN!!!!”
“LEMME ALONE!!!!”
“STOP!”
“LET GO!”
“WAHHH!!!”
“STOP!!!”
“AHHH!!!” Naruto screamed out in a mixture of anger, confusion, and fear. A powerful wind suddenly discharged from him knocking both girls and everyone else around them away and onto the ground, then Naruto’s wings burst from his back through his shirt and he quickly flew out the window with Sasuke in tow, soaring off to somewhere safe out of reach of the terrifying girls that had tried to harm him and his charge.
Back in the school building, the children sat back up with confused expressions.
Iruka shook his head and frowned as he stood back up, “What just happened?”
He was met with many confused and dazed looks as everybody seemed for some reason to have forgotten why they were all lying on the floor in the hallway.
