Final Realisation

Chapter 2

I walked down the road completely drawn into my book, intent on finding out how the dashing hero was going to get out of his sticky situation ‘if I didn’t have flirting disasters I would be so lost’ I thought as I continued giggling to myself.
I was so engrossed I didn’t notice a young Chuinin walking towards me, also completely distracted. I stopped dead looking over the top of my book waiting from him to collide with my finger. He looked up in time to see an extended index finger resting on his forehead protector, he followed the finger confused back to it owner.
“Kakashi-sensei” as always Kakashi looked dopey
“Iruka-sensei looks like you ran into me finger”
“Aaahh I am sorry Kakashi-sensei, I was just distracted I didn’t notice you”
“Iruka you should always be alert when walking alone at night, you never know whom you may run into” I gave him another dopey smile
Iruka dipped his head trying to hide the blush forming on his face I couldn’t help but find him so adorable. I dropped my hand to my side as I waited for him to regain his composure (which was about 5 minutes as he kept blushing whenever he looked up) reading another engrossing chapter, ever so often looking up to check on his progress. Eventually when he had regained some form of composure I lowered my book again, Iruka looked uncomfortable for some reason continually fidgeting.
“Is there something the matter Iruka? You seem a little … nervous”
Again Iruka went into a blushing fit ‘he is so adorable right now’ I thought as I moved closer to him.
“Do I make you nervous Iruka” I asked as I placed my hand on his chin to raise his head, I looked into his eyes “I don’t bite ... well that is unless you want me to” he went into another blushing fit, however this time my hand kept him from lowering his head again.
I leaned forward resting my chin on his shoulder so I could whisper into his ear
“Why were the ANBU speaking to you earlier?”
I could feel his body tense up as my words travel through his ear canal
“How do you know they spoke to me?”
“Iruka-sensei you forget that I too were once ANBU” I continued to rest my chin on his shoulder waiting for him to reply
“Naruto …. Was arrested this morning”
“Hmmm … I see. If you want me to I’ll look into it for you Iruka … please don’t worry yourself I’m sure it’s just for something stupid” I reassured ‘it’s so tempting to kiss him’ I thought
Iruka eased up a little from my word’s of assurance but was still slightly tense from having me in such close proximity. I continued to rest my head on his trembling shoulder letting my warm breath heat up his exposed neck, I’m sure his face was crimson from embarrassment.
“Thank you Kakashi-sensei”
I leaned back giving him a warm smile checking that I still had my book I turned to walk away when Iruka grabbed suddenly my arm.
“Wait”
I turned back to see Iruka blushing as he held my extended hand, obviously this had been an impulse move as he stood thinking of what to say next
“May I ask you a question?”
“You already did”
He stood looking confused as I smiled secretly under my mask ‘I sure am an evil person’
“Of course you can but first can I have my hand back?” Iruka went into another blush as he released his slack grip on my hand.
“Why were you watching me?” his voice coming out unsteady
I pondered the question trying to think of some smart remark that would not give away my daily ritual.
“It was the only available place to read my smutty novel” I held up my book “I didn’t realize that you were outside with your students until I sensed the ANBU”
From the look on his face this was not the answer he had been looking for, he hung his head in slight disappointment.
“Oh … I just hope we didn’t disturb you too much”
I gave him a smile as I turned to walk away “Not at all … how can something so adorable be a disturbance” I waved goodbye as I walked away returning to my reading.
