Now I can See You

A blurred face emerged when Sasuke opened his eyes, he couldn’t tell who it was, and he also didn’t know where he was, his head ached too much. He looked at that face again and familiar features started to become clearer, pink hair, light green eyes, it was Sakura, she looked terribly worried. She was very quiet watching as Sasuke slowly gained consciousness.

“Sasuke, are you alright?” a familiar voice was heard.

“Naruto?”

“Yeah, I’m right here.”

Sasuke turned his head to the left and saw a figure sitting next to him, his vision was still blurry but he could perfectly tell it was Naruto, he’s hard to miss, blonde spiky hair, that orange outfit, and his blue eyes that can be seen miles away. He let out a small smile when he saw the kyuubi boy “I’m fine dobe. How about you?” Naruto didn’t answer right away, instead he moved closer to Sasuke and pressed his lips against his forehead.

“Naruto??” Sasuke blushed a little, what the hell was Naruto doing?

“Mmm, good, your fever is almost gone, Tsunade baa-chan told us to check your fever”

“You didn’t have to do it like that Naruto.” Sakura said with a tone of jealousy that was quite obvious. Sasuke noticed some bandages around Naruto’s wrists “What’s with the bandages?”

“Oh this…” Naruto lifted his arms until his wrists were in front of his face, then, lowering them again said ”It was noth…”

“He got those wounds because he pushed himself too hard to carry you out of that crater, he was in a very bad condition but even so he managed to pull you out.” Tsunade stated while she entered the hospital room. Sasuke’s eyes widened. The dobe risked saving me even in such bad conditions? He looked at Naruto, their eyes met for a moment and Naruto blushed a little, he couldn’t keep looking at Sasuke so he rested his eyes on the floor.

“Am, Naruto…” The blonde boy looked up again “Thanks for helping me get out of there, I didn’t know it was being so hard to you…”

Naruto smiled gently at Sasuke. Heheee… Is he alright? He’s acting too nice…

“Don’t have to thank me, we are team-mates, I did what had to be done, I couldn’t just leave you there.”

Sasuke felt warmth in his heart. What’s with this feeling?? Since when do I have feelings like this?

“I’m glad you are starting to get along better, your constant discussions are a pain in the ass!” Sakura stated with relief, they burst in laughter. “What?? It’s true!”

“We should let Sasuke rest, he’s not completely alright yet, and you Naruto, you should go home and rest too.” Tsunade said while looking at her watch, it was past 4 o’clock in the afternoon. Damn, I wasted precious time, I could be taking a nap by now. Her face showed a little disappointment.

“Tsunade baa-chan, you are dismissing us because you wanna go to take a nap like you always do, you always leave work to do.” Naruto stated while hiding his laughter with his hand, Sakura and Sasuke couldn’t help but to laugh a little too.

“Youuuuuu, don’t call me baa-chan (old lady) and for your information, I’m not going to sleep and I don’t leave work to do, got it??”

“Sure, sure, I’ll pretend I didn’t see you the other day taking a nap in your desk, hihihi!!” Naruto let out an evil smile.

“When I put my hands on you…COME HERE!!!!!!” Naruto smashed the door open, along with Tsunade that was chasing him furiously and yelling something like “I will teach you to respect your Hokage!!”

Only Sakura and Sasuke remained in the room, they were both there, looking at something else that not each other, then Sasuke broke that awkward silence “Listen Sakura …” Sakura almost jumped, it was so silent and suddenly Sasuke said her name “Yes Sasuke-kun?”

“I just want to say I’m sorry for always treating you so coldly…” Whoa! I’m insane! I just said sorry to Sakura. Did I hit my head or something? Fuck!

“No, it’s alright, I’m very annoying, I’m always chasing you around, it’s normal that you act like that with me, I’m the one who’s sorry, I’m really sorry.” YES!! Sasuke-Kun apologized to me!! Sakura took off the mask and was being herself in that moment, Sasuke was amazed, he never knew Sakura could be so comprehensive and mature like that, he thought that maybe Sakura was not such a bad person, he liked this side of her.

“Thank you Sakura.” And it gets better! Now I say thank you. Plus I thanked the dobe earlier too, but he saved my life, I guess it’s not that bad.

“No need for that. Well, I better get going, Hokage-sama said you needed to rest, I’ll see you later!”

She smiled softly and exited the room going through the door Naruto and Tsunade burst open a while ago, she tried to shut it, but it was a bit damaged, it was impossible to completely close it. Those two... She let out a small laughter and continued down the hall to the entrance.

Sasuke was left alone with his thoughts, he knew he was supposed to be sleeping, but he just couldn’t, he was thinking about this sudden change in Sakura’s behaviour. She acted so much different than she usually does. He was thinking she could be always like that, it would make team work easier. Suddenly another image invaded his mind without notice, Naruto was kissing his forehead. That dobe... Sasuke thought while putting his fingertips on the spot Naruto kissed minutes ago. His lips were so soft. He rapidly shook his head and slapped his hand on his forehead. I DID NOT think that!!! What’s wrong with me?? What kind of thought is that?? He sat down with his hands covering his face. I really, really should get some sleep; I’m going out of my mind!! He tossed his head on the bed and covered it with the pillow; he was tired and fell asleep in a few minutes.

Geesh, Tsunade baa-Chan runs pretty fast, I had a hard time running away from her . Naruto thought while getting back to the room where Sasuke was resting, he reached the door and grabbed the door knob opening it. He entered the silent room, it was a little dark, only a little glimpse of light was seen near the window. As he approached the bed he started to hear small and slow breaths, Sasuke was fast asleep. He looked down at him, the pale boy was sleeping, his head tilted to the left, and locks of his black hair covered part of his handsome features, his lips were parted as he breathed through them, his right hand was on top of his chest and the other rested near his face. Naruto watched him with those intense blue eyes, a smile formed on his lips. Funny, who would say the terrible and cold Uchiha Sasuke looks like an angel sleeping, so peaceful…

Without becoming aware of it, Naruto’s hand moved and caressed Sasuke’s cheek putting away the locks of hair that covered his face “Soft” he said in a whisper, he bowed his head to kiss the boy’s forehead but he stopped when the brunette moaned “Nnnnnnhh…” Naruto froze right there eyes wide open and a blush on his face was becoming visible. What am I… He didn’t finished his thoughts, Sasuke suddenly woke up and saw the blonde boy’s face near his, he immediately shoved Naruto away and he fell flat on the floor.

“You dobe!!!!!! What were you doing you scared me!!”

“I was just checking if you were alright!” I was wasn’t I?

“Your face was so damn close!!” Sasuke replied looking to the window.

“Well sorry I’m not as good looking as you are, Sorry for scaring you with my ugly stupid face Mr Perfect!” Naruto shouted in anger, his hands clenched into fists shaking nervously.

“Don’t be childish Naruto” Sasuke said rolling his eyes.

“I’m not childish, I’M NOT!! I thought things were going to be different since you actually thanked me earlier, but I was wrong, you’re an insensitive bastard!!”

“I’m not that cold hearted, I thanked you because you saved my life.” Sasuke was now shouting too, he was becoming irritated with all those things Naruto was accusing him of.

“Yes you are you don’t know how much you hurt people around you…”

Sasuke opened his mouth to argue back but was interrupted by Naruto’s low voice “Just…Don’t say anything…” With that he turned to the door and left.

What the hell was that all about?! Damn you! Fuck Naruto!! You’re so childish! Sasuke thought tossing his head on the pillows. I’m not an insensitive bastard like you say, I feel too, you are so wrong about me… He raised his hand up to his forehead touching it with his fingertips once more, he smiled. I guess I gave you the wrong idea of how I really am, it’s my fault… I just don’t like to show my feelings.

Someone knocked at the door “Mmmm? Who could it be?” Sakura asked herself while making her way to her front entrance. She opened the door and was surprised with the person standing there, it was the last person she would expect to see in her house.

“Naruto? Is there something wrong?”

“No…” He said, but Sakura wasn’t dumb, she immediately understood something was not okay, not only because of the way he spoke, but also because of his expression “… I came to warn you that after tomorrow we have a mission.”

“A mission? What about Sasuke’s condition?”

Naruto’s hands closed into fists as he heard the Uchiha’s name, he remembered the discussion they had yesterday, he was so angry at Sasuke, but he didn’t quite know why, on his way over to Sakura’s house he thought that maybe he overreacted a bit.

“Sasuke leaves the hospital today, he recovered surprisingly well, he’s alright now.”

“Oh, that’s good news!” Sakura jumped with joy “Hey, wanna enter? I was going to eat something, care to join me?”

Naruto lifted his eyebrow; this was so strange, Sakura inviting him to enter her house? As if guessing his thoughts she said “Come on, I know it’s strange to you, I never did this, but you’re already here so you might as well come in.”

Naruto stepped in and took his shoes of, he entered and saw a big hallway that ended in a white wall, there were 3 doors on the left, he presumed it were the rooms and the bathroom, and two doors on the right, clearly the living room and the kitchen could be seen.

“Make yourself at home!” She smiled and run off to the kitchen “Mother, Naruto is here, can you prepare something for us?”

“Of course! Go to your room, I’ll take your food there!”

“Come Naruto, my room is here!” She was standing on the last door at the left.

“Uchiha, you can leave the hospital, you don’t need to be here any longer” The nurse said and retreated.

“Humph, about damn time I left this place.”

Sasuke exited the room and made his way outside, it was a dark afternoon, the clouds in the sky were grey and covering the light, it could rain any moment now. He passed Ino’s flower shop and made his way to his house, as he was walking the events from yesterday started flowing through his mind, he remembered how Naruto got so pissed just because he got scared to see his face so close to his. I mean, who wouldn’t, I was sleeping so calmly, and open my eyes and see a face right above me, it’s normal that I got scared. He stopped for a moment and punched the wall. Such trivial thoughts, why do I even bother to understand that dobe? Sasuke felt drops of water running down his body . Rain, just what I needed.

“Want another cookie? Help yourself, you can have as many as you want!” Sakura stated with a wide smile on her face.

“Um, Thanks Sakura-chan “Naruto lifted his eyebrow once again. Sakura is strangely nice today, I’m starting to get scared.

“So…” Naruto looked at Sakura who was now speaking “What happened Naruto, why are you so down today?”

I knew something was coming. He thought while taking a sip of his tea and grabbing another cookie.

“It’s nothing special, I had another fight with Sasuke yesterday at the hospital”

“About what?”

“It was over a stupid thing, it’s not important.”

“You need to get along, you always fight, you fight about everything, insignificant things, looks like you need to battle each other to live.”

“It’s getting late Sakura-chan, I’ll get going.”

“Alright, I’ll walk you to the door.”

They both got up and walked to the entrance, Naruto waved goodbye to Sakura’s parents and then exited her house. It was raining hard and his place was a little far from where he was, he run to try to catch as less rain as possible, which didn’t work, he was by now soaked to the bones. Shit I need to find someplace to take shelter from the rain till it stops. He couldn’t see clearly with the rain coming straight towards him, he managed to see the shelter he used to play in when he was a kid, the vision was blurry but it looked like he could go and stay there until the rain stopped, or at least calm down a bit. He arrived at the spoken place and started to shake his blonde hair in order to release it from some of the water, he leaned against the wall, strangely it was very warm and soft, he felt so good leaning there, his back against the wall, his body heating, he was very cold and shaking, all of a sudden he had the feeling the wall moved. Wha?, That’s impossible! He thought at the same time he felt two arms wrapping around him “Feeling good dobe?” a teasing voice whispered in his ear. Naruto’s eyes widened and he immediately turned to face who was talking, he screamed in surprise to see it was Sasuke who stood behind him.

“Aaah…OUCH!!” Naruto fell with his ass on the floor.

“You’re always so clumsy Naruto.”

“Shut up idiot you scared me.”

“I did? Why is that?”

“I wasn’t counting you’d be here.”

“Like I wasn’t counting you’d be staring at me when I woke up?”

Naruto froze, his gaze on the floor, suddenly realization came to him.

“Yeah, just like the situation yesterday…”

“Do you understand now why I got scared and shoved you away?”

Naruto nodded with his head and then, getting up slowly he said “I’m sorry…”

“It’s alright.”

The rain stopped falling and some of the clouds moved away letting in some of the late afternoon light, Naruto looked at the sky “I guess I’ll be going now, Um, I’ll see you around, OH!! I almost forgot, we have a mission after tomorrow.”

“Alright, thanks for the info dobe”

Naruto looked at him throwing daggers with his look “I hate when you call me that!!”

“I know, that’s why I keep doing it.” Sasuke let out an evil smirk and then waved goodbye walking the opposite way Naruto was going.

Gaaah Sasukeee!!! You make me wanna knock your face on the ground!!

Sasuke reached his home and took a hot bath, he then went to the kitchen to fix something to eat, he sat on the table and the rainy afternoon started to come to his mind, the part where he and Naruto where in the shelter. He was freezing. He thought while drinking a sip of his tea. I have to try and be more sociable around others, they all think I’m a cold hearted bastard… A sad smile came across his features. I don’t blame them, I built that image of me alone. His thoughts were interrupted by his phone ringing.

“Hello?”

“Hi, it’s me, Sakura.”

“Sakura? What do you want?”

“Um…I wanted to ask if you can join me, Kakashi-sensei and Naruto to dinner together in twenty minutes.”

Sasuke was silent for a while and then replied “Sure, why not…”

“Alright, see you in twenty minutes then. Oh, it’s at Ichiraku Ramen, Naruto almost cried when we said we wouldn’t go there, so we decided to just go and shut him up. Bye!”

Sakura hung up, Sasuke rolled his eyes. So typical of you Naruto, you’re 17 years old and you still act like you were 12.

Naruto sank his chopsticks in the bowl in front of him gaining a look from everybody on the table.

“That’s so impolite Naruto, how can you eat like that?”

“Because he’s a dobe” Sasuke declared answering to Sakura’s question.

“Say what you want Sasuke, you can’t piss me, I’m eating ramen, so you can say whatever you want about me, I don’t care right now, I’ll just kick your ass later.”

“What if I say to everybody that I fucked you senseless last night?” With so many ways to tease him, I had to choose this one? I’m hopeless. Not that I would mind if it was… I DID no just think that!!

Everyone in the table spit out their food. Naruto choked.

“WHAT???” Naruto shouted his face turning red, he stood up banging his fists on the table.

“Haaaaa!! See?? I can piss you off! I was joking Sakura, you can relax now.” Sasuke said with an implied tone of victory and a teasing smirk.

Sakura was looking at them with an expression of extreme disbelief and horror, but as soon as Sasuke said it was just a joke she sighed and relaxed.

Abruptly Kakashi burst into irritating and very loud laughter, everyone starred at him.

“What??”

“Mmm, besides you suddenly started laughing and scared everybody, there’s nothing wrong.” Sakura replied sarcastically.

“What was that all about Kakashi Sensei?” Naruto asked surprised. Sasuke just rolled his eyes. Is everyone nuts today? Including myself.

“Well, I just thought the situation was funny.”

“Then why didn’t you laugh when it happened, you laughed a few moments later.” Sasuke asked.

“I don’t know, I just felt like laughing now.”

“Isn’t this conversation useless? What does it matter when Kakashi-Sensei started laughing?”

Everyone rolled their eyes. It’s useless.

Naruto arrived home still laughing, just before they left the restaurant Sakura had a little accident, a bowl of ramen fell on her head, she was soaked and all dirty, she kept whining about her hair being ruined. He opened his front door and entered to the immense loneliness of his house. I wish we could have stayed a little longer, I don’t like being alone at night. He stepped forward until he reached his couch and sat there leaning his head back staring at the ceiling, he didn’t turn the lights on, he laid there in the dark, the only source of illumination was the glow of the full moon outside coming from his window. His mind was empty, the only thing he was feeling was solitude and misery.

Leaving the restaurant Sasuke offered himself to walk Sakura home since her parents were working late and couldn’t come to pick her up.

“Thanks for walking me home Sasuke-kun.” Sakura said with a big smile on her face, this is what she always wanted, time alone with Sasuke.

“No problem, it’s dangerous to walk alone at night.”

“You know…I’m so glad you and Naruto are getting along better, we had such a great time at the restaurant, I think we are becoming closer to a team now!”

“You know Sakura, I never knew this was your true self, I always thought of you as a conceited and selfish girl, but now you are showing your true colours, and I like what I’m seeing, you’re a better person just being yourself.” God and I thought Naruto was a softie. I’m worse than him!!

Sakura felt an urge of happiness taking over her, Sasuke liked her, not the way she always wanted, but she was in the right way to achieve it.

“Thanks Sasuke-kun, that means everything to me, from now on I’ll try to be always myself.”

They arrived at Sakura’s house; a group of girls passed by and threw angry glances at Sakura, she was pretty much sure it was because she was alone with Sasuke, girls were completely crazy about him. I’m no exception, I would probably have the same reaction as them. She thought to herself and blushed a little. When he noticed he had her attention Sasuke put his hand over Sakura’s shoulder, she immediately felt her heart starting to beat faster and her green eyes stared at Sasuke with disbelief.

“I know I don’t like physical contact, but this time I’ll make an exception, you are my team mate after all.” He said almost as guessing what she was thinking.

“Um, alright.” She was shaking and couldn’t say anything more than that.

“Well, you’re home; I’ll get going it’s getting late, see you tomorrow.” He turned his back and began to walk away from her. She stood there, frozen. Sasuke Kun just touched me!!

“SHANNAROOOOO!!!! Way to go Sakura, you’re in the right way to make Sasuke Kun love you!!” Sakura was shouting in the middle of the street, a group of academy students passed by and stared at her. She ignored them and went to her apartment; nothing could upset her at that moment.

Sasuke stopped in front of Naruto’s apartment on his way home from walking Sakura to her house. He looked at the building and was wondering if he should go talk to Naruto, it was already kind of late, but he needed to talk to him, so he decided to step in and started to go up the stairs until he reached Naruto’s entrance door. He took a deep breath and when he decided to knock, he noticed the door wasn’t well locked. That dobe, can’t even shut the door properly. He made his way into Naruto’s messy living room, the lights were off, as he made his way in he stepped and tripped into many objects. Must be cups of ramen, it figures… His thoughts were frozen by what he was seeing, in front of him Naruto rested on his couch, his face was softly bathed in moonlight glow coming from the window, his sun tanned skin was almost pale, his blonde hair looked like gold and his whisker like marks were clearly seen, Sasuke never noticed his scars were so deep, he felt his heart beating faster as he made his way to the other boy sleeping, he sat beside Naruto and stared at him for a while thinking if he should wake him or let him sleep, he looked so still. Who could’ve imagined, this person that is always so noisy could be so quiet sleeping… He leaned down and whispered in the boy’s ear “Oi dobe, wake up.” He got no answer. Maybe I was too soft? He grabbed Naruto’s shoulders and started shaking him “Naruto! Wake up!!”

“W-W-Wha? Wha is it?” Naruto woke up startled, his arms were moving in every direction and his eyes weren’t completely open yet “What’s wrong? W-who…”

“Naruto it’s me, Sasuke, Wake up already!”

“Sa-sa-sasuke?? How did you enter?” Naruto looked at the boy beside him demanding an answer with his gaze.

“The door was unlocked dobe; you can’t even do that right.” Sasuke answered poking Naruto on his nose.

Naruto pushed away the brunette’s hand and frowned “Did you come here to insult me?”

“No I didn’t…”

“Then why did you come?”

“Because I need to talk to you”

Naruto raised an eyebrow, this whole situation was so strange, he placed his feet on the floor and sat beside Sasuke, their shoulders touching, Naruto glared at Sasuke. “Then talk.”

“I never imagined myself doing this you know?”

Naruto stared at Sasuke for a moment. He was obviously confused.

“Doing what? Sasuke are you alright?”

“Yeah, I’m just fuckin’ trying to apologize to you”

Naruto frowned.

“Jesus Sasuke, you are such a bastard even when apologizing”

Wait. Sasuke is here, this late at night, just to apologize to me??

Naruto looked at Sasuke with a confused stare, his mouth half open as if he was trying to say something, but he was too petrified to spill any word at all.

“Jesus Naruto! What?? What’s with that face dobe?” Sasuke looked at him annoyed “Fuck, you’re making this hard you know?”

Naruto woke up from his daze.

“Why are you trying to apologize to me?”

“Because… I’m always such a bastard to you, I never gave a chance for us to get along, even though you’ve tried.” Sasuke paused, took in a deep breath and then continued “I see through that now, I’m always trying to do things on my own, I forget we are a team, all this came to me the moment you saved me...”

“Sasuke…” Naruto giggled “I don’t know if you noticed but you’ve been acting nicer since you went to the hospital.

“Of course I noticed dobe, would I not perceive what I was doing? “

“Hey, Sasuke!! You come to say you’re sorry and still call me dobe? You’re mean!”

Sasuke looked at Naruto for seconds, his expression unreadable; he lifted one arm and rested his hand on Naruto’s right shoulder, he then ran his fingers through his black hair, Naruto was staring dumbfounded and glanced at Sasuke’s hand on his shoulder, this was all too strange, he is not used to seeing Sasuke act like this, he turned his head to face his friend, the brunette’s face was pale and indecipherable, he couldn’t tell what was going through Sasuke’s mind, he’s thoughts were soon cut short by his team mate’s voice.

“I’m really sorry Naruto…”

A short silence, finally Naruto replied “I’m really happy Sasuke, You are opening up to me, telling me your feelings, I feel close to you this very moment, and I feel that we are true friends right now!” he said looking at Sasuke, his cerulean eyes wet and with a look of happiness and a smile on the lips. “Geesh, I’m such a cry baby, heh” The blonde spoke while wiping the tears that were becoming more visible.

“Thank you Naruto” Sasuke said while getting closer to his team mate.

“S-Sasuke?!” Naruto was staring at the brunette that was now really close, he felt his heart racing.

“Sasuke, what are you doing?!” His voice trembling and low, he was really not getting what was going on.

“Please Naruto, I need to do this.” Sasuke said.

Naruto was getting anxious, what was Sasuke about to do? What did he want? That’s when he felt two arms wrapping around his back, and the warmth of Sasuke’s body pressed against his own.

“I need this, please Naruto, hold me.” With eyes wide open, Naruto did what the brunette was asking.

“Um…s-sure…”

They stayed like that for a few minutes, holding each other. The silence was broken by Sasuke’s voice.

“Say a word about this to anyone and I’ll kill you.”

“Jesus Christ Sasuke, you’ve ruined the mood, we were so friendly.”

“Don’t let it get to your head dobe, just because I hugged you and said to you that I’m sorry doesn’t mean that I won’t be the same person.”

“Heyyy!! You said you were going to try to get along better with me and Sakura!”

“And I will, I didn’t say I wasn’t did I?”

“Will you keep being like that?”

“Yeah, but not as much as I’ve been to you, to other people I’ll be just the same.”

“Mmm, alright, as long as I can get along with you without getting my face on the ground.”

“Tche, don’t expect that to happen Dobe, I’m still going to kick your ass many times.”

“You wish!”

“Oh you don’t know how much.”

“What?!” Naruto asked astonished.

“What what?”

“What did you say?!”

“Um…I…I dunno, let’s stop this conversation ok?” Sasuke said turning his face away from Naruto’s blue eyes.

Suddenly the phone rang, Naruto went to pick it up.

“Yes?” Naruto asked.

“Naruto, it’s me, Sakura. It’s just to tell you that Kakashi called and said the mission was cancelled, Can you warn Sasuke too, I tried to call him to his house, but no one picked up.”

“Alright Sakura-Chan I’ll tell him, he’s right here with me.”

“He…is…with you?! Right now? At this hour?!” Sakura’s voice sounded both angry and shocked.

“Heheh… Well, yeah…” Naruto said with a bit of embarrassment.

Sasuke stood up and took the phone from the grip of the blonde “Sakura, it’s Sasuke, you don’t have anything to do with my life, I’m with Naruto, so what? We are team mates.” Sasuke handed over the phone to Naruto who was staring at him with his mouth wide open.

“What??” The brunette asked annoyed.

“Ahhh…… Nothing.” Returning the phone to his ear Naruto spoke with Sakura again.

“Sakura-Chan, sorry about that, you know Sasuke ne? He’s always like that.”

“Yeah, guess that even though he apologized to us it’s not gonna keep him from being the way he always is…” Sakura sighed “Oh well, I’m used to it, and he’s right, I don’t have anything to do with his personal life. Ja ne Naruto, bye!”

“Bye Sakura-Chan!” Naruto hung up the phone and looked at Sasuke with a frown, he moved towards the brunette and poked his forehead.

“Ne Sasukeee.”

Said person looked up at him, with a glare, Sasuke didn’t like to be poked on the forehead, it brought him terrible memories of a certain someone who used to do that, it was a painful past, he hated talking about it, and even worst, he hated to remember, each time he did, it seemed as though he was living that terror again, every time he remembers it, his heart gets pierced so violently, the hurting is unbearable.

“Naruto, don’t ever do that again.” His voice almost in a whisper, memories coming back again, the pain, again, and again, he was sick of it. He crossed his arms around himself and bent down.

“Sasuke?! Are you alright?” Naruto was really worried now, what’s wrong with Sasuke? He changed so suddenly.

“Is anything hurting?” Is there anything I can do for you?”

“Yeah, it’s hurting a lot, and no, there’s nothing you can do about it, not you, not anyone, just let me be, I’ll be fine in a moment.”

“This probably won’t be much help but …” While saying this, Naruto hugged Sasuke and rested his chin on the other boy’s head.

“Cry if you want to, if you need to, don’t keep it to yourself.”

Sasuke closed his hand in a fist grabbing Naruto’s shirt, he couldn’t contain himself anymore, tears burst out as he started crying, tightening his grip on Naruto’s shirt, he was so tired, tired of these nightmares, these memories that haunted him since the incident. Damn you brother! When will it stop? His eyes felt heavy, he couldn’t keep them open anymore, and the warmth of Naruto’s body helped him as he fell asleep.

They both fell asleep, Naruto leaning on his couch, holding Sasuke in his arms; they stayed like that all night.
