...Beginings...
"KIRA! GET UP AND OUT OF BED ALREADY!" A rock was thrown at one of the windows at the temple, as the same window's curtains were opened and a face with pretty green eyes looked down at the flustered monk below. Her bright golden hair caught the sunlight in it's silken mass...
"I've been up Miatso-sama! Just waiting for you to give me a shout!" She called down to him, waving at him and the other Priests and monks who followed the teachings of Monk Miatso without question- same as she did.
"Get dressed and get down here!"
The girl laughed as she vanished from her window and doned the clothing he had told her to wear whenever she wasn't in her room... The proud symbol of the priestess- with the red pants and white long sleeved shirt. It was easy for the Neko-Jin woman to hide her tail in the baggy pants as she grabbed her choice weapon, a bow and quiver filled with arrows and swung them into place over her right shoulder, and hurried down the stairs of the temple...
A few of the younger Monks waved at her as she passed them, and one of the teenaged ones threw a piece of toast out the door of the kitchen, which she caught in her mouth easily with an effortless flip off the ground to snatch it with her hand before she stuffed it into her mouth, and all before her feet hit the ground again as she hurried to the door.
"Good Luck Kira!" Dai called from the kitchen, knowing she had caught the toast without much trouble. She always did- she was the graceful cat of the temple, and the only girl around. It was up to the boys to know everything about the only girl in a three mile radius. ((Unless of course you counted the occasional ninja team who sported a female combatant))
Kira's final day of training could be today if she finished off properly, and the whole temple was abuzz with excitement...
Kira had been discovered as an infant in the arms of a dead mother less then five feet from a strong moving river, by Miatso nearly 17 years ago.. and the girl was reaching what Miatso determined to be her 18th birthday. This day was a day of joy and remorse for the old man... never had he seen someone with such a hatred for demons being so pure...
His little Kira had grown up strong, and had proven herself to be excellent at whatever fate handed her way. Nothing compared to the brutality with which she struck out at the low class demons who sometimes wandered into their world. She hated demons with a pure passion- and strived to destroy each and every one of them.
The pretty green eyed, blonde haired girl following Miatso, had come to them a week after the Nine tailed fox attack in the Leaf Village, and Miatso, after many years, was discovering she might be related to someone deep in that village... but that mattered little today... it was her final test.
Kira had been studying under Miatso for years now, and she had flown through many styles of teaching, until he had to teach her from scrolls of old, on how to handle demons and ensnare Ninja.
She began to read them on her own, her mind absorbing much more of the information then he thought she could, when she began to practice with silk wraps- an imatation of a jutsu from Prestiess Hakuria- who used silk with chakra to ensnare what she wanted to trap, and then use her 'Sacred Arrow' to finish the job, which is much the same style his Kira used in all their practice battles.. however today was not practice.
Miatso was well known throughout the Land of Fire for his demon sealing abilities, as well as summoning abilities- which is what Kira had to try her luck against today...
Miatso's demon summoning Jutsu.
The group of twelve, one master monk, 10 underlings of his, and finally the one who was ready to take the final test... made their way to the destination.. a large open field, with three massive boulders that marked the edge of the arena...
"Kira, stand there in the center- be prepared... if you let the demon get beyond any of the boulders- the test is terrminated." Miatso said as the teen walked to the center of the field, her grip on her bow tightening slightly... so what if she had never been able to use a shining Sacred Arrow? It didn't matter... but it all came down to this- she had to do it if she wanted to pass the test. She could do anything else- she just always had trouble using the Sacred Arrow.
After nearly half an hour of focusing,(More then likely just trying to rile his students nerves) Miatso released the demon from the MaKai world, or demon realm... with a burst of his energy...
With a flick of her wrists, the massive snarling boar demon was wrapped up tightly in the silk that rushed from Kira's hands- hidden up her sleeves in soft spirals...
This however, was a flawed plan... the boar demons tusks ripped through the silk as he charged at Kira, the obvious one who tried to stop him...
An arrow slid from her quiver, and into position on her bow... with a twang of the drawstring.. every one outside the rock marked battlefield held their breath...
The arrow was engulfed in a stream of light, as it shot out and went deep into the boars body.. which turned to sparkling dust... falling slowly to earth... only to get picked up in a wind and blown away.
Kira looked to her master, eyes wide and hopeful, a need to know she had pleased him shining in her eyes...
All it took was his pleased smile and a nod of his head as she jumped and punched the air happily with her fist....
Three months ago... that's how long it had been.
That day had been so happy when it began... but days like that seem to end terribly no matter what... That's why she had the letter in her hands as she walked to the Leaf Village...
Miatso had gotten sick that day, and had told Kira to go get him a letter he had written last week in his room, it was hidden in his far right desk drawer where he had told her it was... but when she came back with it... the room was filled with a deathly silence, his other pupils who had gathered earlier trying hard not to cry...
Realization struck Kira like a lightning Rod... her father... the one who had raised her... was gone. Her green eyes looked about the room, as her ears flicked out to take account of the others emotions...
She knelt down next to a few of the youngest, only 7 or so years old, and held them in her arms... letting them cry into her as the others came to join them, piling against one another to cry into Kira... who held the letter tightly in her hand... Hours later, everyone had cried themselves to sleep, except for Kira who stood and began to take care of the body... when she was done preparing him to be burned... she remembered the letter as she sat down next to the body and unfolded it... in her 'fathers' writing was the passage...
Dear 3rd Hokage, I hope everything is well with you in your Village. If it is not, my regaurds, but I have a request of you.
I am not in my best health, if I last till the end of the week I will be suprised. When you get this letter, my graduated Priestess student will be the one carrying it to the Leaf Village, and I will be dead- My ashes scattered to the winds of the temple. Her name is Kira, as far as she has known all her life, however, over the past five years I noticed the resemblance to that of your Fourth Hokage, not only in strength, but in attitude as well. She may be his daughter, and she might not... However, I am now giving her over to you- and your village. The rest of my students are free to do as they wish, but before she is free of my last orders, Kira must travel to the Leaf Village, and see if she can find herself while there.

Dragon Level Monk
"Hey! Kira!" The voice belonged to that of 'Konohamaru' the grand son of the man she had been sent to meet, though he had already passed away, nearly five years earlier. The two had become fast friends over the first month they had met, and Kira had been asked to stay in the village by Tsunade until 'someone' came back.
"Hello Honohamaru-kun." She greeted, as she moved from the second story to the ground with an effortless cat like movement as she smiled at the boy who laughed. "You're awesome when you move like that!" He chimmed as the pair began to walk around, soon joining up with Konohamaru's team as Kira bid them goodday for then... they had a mission: Catch an escaped Cat...
The only thing Kira could think as the three went after the cat was one simple thought.
'I feel your pain kitty-cat.'
