Prologue Part 2
"Deidara?" He gently shook his shoulder. At the sound of his name, Deidara looked up. His cheeks were stained with blood and tears.
“Sasori no Danna?”
Sasori nodded gently. The blond whimpered and started crying again, incomprehensible words coming from between his cupped hands. Sasori didn’t understand what was wrong. He had never seen someone in such a state, and he definitely didn’t know how his new teammate was going to react if he tried to comfort him. Why did the kid have to be so unpredictable? He gripped Deidara’s shoulders firmly and stared into his cloudy eyes.
“Tell me what’s wrong.”
Deidara was taken aback by Sasori’s sudden request. His Danna hardly ever spoke to him anyway.
“I can’t” he choked, holding back more tears.
Sasori stared at him, in such a pitiful state. Was this sympathy he was feeling? Pity? No. Impossible. He had never felt such things for someone else. But he longed to find out what drove his partner to such a state.
“Tell me what’s wrong.”
Deidara shook his head violently, spraying flecks of blood onto Sasori’s face. He stared at him with terrified eyes. Only then did Sasori notice the many cuts and bruises on the other’s body, some still fresh, and the raw rope burns on his wrists. He took a deep breath.
“Trust me.”

Trust. The one thing he was incapable of at this time and his Danna was asking him to do so. To trust him. He was too weak to go against it. Trusting was a thing he hadn’t tried in a long time.

“Deidara?”
Deidara didn’t look at him.
“What happened?”
He bit his bottom lip and slowly nodded. This was so very wrong.
“Sasori no Danna?”
