Rebirth

~~Normal POV~~

"Naruto!!!" Sasuke shouted once inside the tiny apartment. He could barely feel Naruto’s charka! He turned toward the others with worried eyes.

Sakura has never seen worry in those dark eyes, something was wrong. She walked toward the bathroom while Sasuke went toward the bedroom. As she opened the door she screamed.

Sasuke's heart stopped when he heard the scream. He raced toward the bathroom and stood behind her eyes wide with pain. He heard everyone running their way, "DON'T COME ANY CLOSER!!!" he shouted to them. "GET THE HOKAGE!" He pulled Sakura into the bathroom and closed the door. "HELP HIM!" He shouted at her.

She went to the blonde that was sitting in the tub of his own blood. She steadied herself and gently lifted his wrist out of the dark water.

Sasukes heart pounded, he could faintly still sense Naruto's chakra. 'Dammit Naruto, why?'

"Sasuke, what's going on!" Kiba started pounding on the door. "What's Happened?"

Hinata was scared, she wanted to activate her trait but was afraid of what she would see. Her pale eyes landed on the table where a note laid, it was for Sasuke. She picked it up and walked toward the bathroom.

"Sasuke-kun, there's a note here for you," she told him without stuttering. She slipped it under the door.

Sasuke saw the note and picked it up. His eyes going back toward Sakura as she worked to save the dobe's life. He opened the note and read:

"Sasuke,
If you are reading this then I am no longer with you. I have made this decision because this will make everyone’s life easier especially the villagers and yours. They won't have to
look at the constant reminder of the demon that killed their loved ones. I will no longer be in pain; I will finally be at peace. I've been broken for a long time and I
didn't want you to feel as though you had to be with me, pity me. I didn't want that. This was for the best, for the villagers and for you.
Just remember even though I was broken I still loved you.
Naruto.

Tears fell from the raven's eyes blurring the note as he read. "No, you can't leave me," he whispered. 'They don't know you like I know you. Everything is not your fault.'

The Hokage busted through the door and ran over to the tub. All Sakura could do was keep his chakra level up so he wouldn't slip away.

"Dear Kami, little brother," Tsunade whispered as she worked on the blonde.

Sasuke could feel Naruto's life essence slipping away!

"WE'RE LOSING HIM!" Tsunade shouted.

The others stood at the door looking at the scene that unfolded in front of them. The Hokage trying to save Naruto's life. They had to keep their cool but inside everyone they were anxious to help the blonde but they walked back into the small living room and waited.

Tsunade picked up the light boy and looked over at Sasuke, "follow me brat," her voice held no room for argument.

Sasuke walked over to her and Naruto. She spoke softly and they disappeared in a poof of smoke.

Sakura sat on the floor in a daze. She started down at her hands and saw blood. Naruto's blood, "why?" she whispered.

Hinata came in and gathered the weeping kunoichi into her arms and lead her out of the bathroom.

Shikamaru and Kiba stood at the threshold staring at the tub that, just a few seconds ago held the almost lifeless body of their friend.

The lazy nin was the first the take a hold of Kiba's arm and lead him from the room. "Let’s go to the hospital," he told them.

"SHIZUNE! In here NOW!" The blonde Hokage shouted. She gently place Naruto on the bed then place her hand over his heart. Fear moved across her face. There was no beat. "No Kami, NARUTO!"

Sasuke sat over in the corner, his eyes closed, he was concentrating. He had done this before to get inside of Naruto’s mind. When he opened his eyes he was standing in front of a cage, but he couldn't see the demon inside.

~~Inside Naruto’s Mind~~~

”What do you want Uchiha," the deep voice resonating through his body.

"Where is Naruto."

"He doesn't want to see you." The deep voice sounded sad.

Not accepting this he walked up to the bars. He looked and saw the fox sitting next to the wall. "Why? Kyuubi?" he asked the demon.

Looking up Kyuubi eyed the brat. He could sense that he was on the verge of a breakdown. His Kit didn't think his passing would affect the Uchiha this much, but what's done is done.
"His pain was going on every day. His heart, his spirit, his soul being broken by the very village that he loved even though they hated him for having me sealed inside. I've regretted what I've done ten-fold but they never forget or forgive. My kit as been broken and now the only place for him to find peace is in oblivion."

"No, no..."

"And you, you not showing no emotion, not showing that you supported him, not showing that you care, not showing that you love him..... He felt used by his friends and by you," the demon sneered. But really he was fighting to keep his kit alive. Kyuubi knew that he would follow him but he couldn't let him die, it wasn't his time. He looked at the raven brat standing in front of him. He was the only hope of getting his kit back.

"YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT MY FEELINGS TOWARD NARUTO!" The raven shouted. Nobody knew how he felt. He dropped down to his knees, not even Naruto. "Oh, Kami, I am a fool," he sobbed.

Kyuubi smiled and transported the raven inside the cage.

Sasuke looked around and saw that he was on the other side of the bars.

"There," Kyuubi pointed to the back of the cave. Sasuke rushed forward, into the darkness.
