I do not own Naruto, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Chapter Two: Car Ride to Konoha
Thank you, everyone for your wonderful encouragement! I cant express in words how much I appreciate everyone's interest in the story!!! All of the encouraging reviews motivate me to crank out the chapters sooner!!! And I would just like to explain, to no one in particular ;}, that I used the clothes labels and car labels and such to emphasize how rich Sasuke is and how well-off Naruto is for being a mere waiter. I will continue to do this because I am a description maniac!! The more descriptive I can be, the better! I don’t think it makes the story boring at all (if I do say so myself o_0). And I apologize if anyone does, but I’m sure you can handle a few boring sentences every few paragraphs. It’s not like every single sentence has a brand name on it. O_O That would be tedious to read and write. Anyone, moving on to the next chapter.
Oh! And I actually proofread this one! It would've been out yesterday but I wanted to make sure I didn't mess it up horribly now that so many people are interested!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The next morning Naruto awoke, remembering what is was he was doing that weekend. He couldn’t remember feeling so happy in his life. Yet he still worried that he may have completely messed up his chances with Sasuke the night before. That stunt with the kiss was, although extremely nice, completely unexpected. He knew that the only reason Sasuke had come to him was to pretend to be his boyfriend for his family. But this also entailed that he was the only person that Sasuke trusted or even liked enough to take. It gave him hope, but he knew that he would have to play it carefully if he wanted to start a real relationship with the broody raven-haired man. The more Naruto thought about it, the more frustrated he became. Sasuke had kissed him back, so he had to have been interested. But he was slightly tipsy as well. Naruto decided he would just have to gauge Sasuke’s attitude that day to see how much damage had been done.
He climbed out of bed and stalked into the bathroom to wash up. After his shower, he had a small breakfast and checked to make sure he had everything he would need packed. Sasuke wasn’t supposed to come get him until noon, so he had a few hours to blow. He brushed his teeth and decided to watch a little TV before noon. That was his plan, but then there were sharp, severe bangs at his front door. He looked over, wide-eyed, trying to think of who it could be. The first person he thought of was Sasuke. Oh no!!! He thought, getting a bit panicky. Sasuke is pissed and came to tell me that he decided not to take me!!! Naruto got up slowly and walked to the door. He viewed through the peek-hole and was incredibly relieved to see his neighbor, and best friend, Kiba. He unlocked the deadbolt and opened the door for his friend.
“Naruto!” The tall brunet yelled, stepping inside and closing the door behind him. “Who on earth was that sexy pale guy you brought home last night?!” He exclaimed, plopping down on Naruto’s couch. Naruto grinned and sat next to Kiba.
“Uchiha Sasuke.” He replied, watching Kiba’s face morph from jubilant to thoroughly shocked.
“You’re fucking kidding me! That was not Sasuke from Konoha!” He yelled. Naruto nodded his head slowly.
“Does he recognize you?” Kiba asked. Naruto shook his head.
“No, he’s been coming to the coffeehouse since I’ve been working there.” Naruto looked at the TV screen, some crisis in Malaysia playing across it. “We’ve talked and everything, and I told him I went to Konoha too, but he says doesn’t remember me.”
“No shit.” Kiba sat back, propping his legs up on the coffee table. “Well how come you brought him home?” Naruto began explaining the situation to Kiba. Sasuke’s mother requesting him to bring a boyfriend, dinner last night, and finally the kiss.
“You’re in deep shit, Naruto. What if he starts to remember who you are?” Kiba studied Naruto closely. The blond looked faintly sad.
“I guess I’ll tell him the truth. What else could I do?” He inquired, sounding slightly defeated. Kiba smiled.
“Well, hey! If he hasn’t remembered yet, then he probably wont right?! And besides, you’ve got to keep your mind focused at the mission at hand!” Kiba said in an authoritative manner. Naruto laughed.
“How did you know I brought him home anyway?” The blond asked, raising an eyebrow at his friend. Kiba grinned.
“I was out walking Akamaru when you drove up with him.” Kiba referred to his white mongrel pup. “Nice fucking car, by the way!”
“Yeah, you should see his Aston Martin.” Naruto exclaimed. Kiba’s eyes grew to the size of dinner plates.
“Weird that he became the successful, rich businessman. Especially after the accident.” Kiba averted Naruto’s gaze, which suddenly turned bitter. “Hey, uh, sorry Naruto.”
“Nah, it’s ok. It was along time ago.” Naruto smiled, though he was still lost in thought about that fateful day in Konoha so many years ago.
“Now now, no time to worry about the past! You have a big weekend ahead of you!” Kiba grabbed Naruto’s hand and dragged him into the bedroom. “Now, show me what you’re planning on taking to wear!”
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything went dark, then people were screaming and crying but he wasn’t sure why. Quite frankly it was annoying him because he was trying to sleep. At least he thought he was sleeping, but when he tried to move, his entire body ached. He tried to open his eyes, but his muscles didn’t seem to want to work properly. Confused, he lay there, listening. He recognized some of the voices around him. Classmates and people who generally ignored his existence, he thought bitterly. Why were they surrounding him. And where was he?
“Someone, call an ambulance!!!” A voice near his head shouted. Ugh, his head hurt so bad. What the hell was going on?! He wasn’t even sure if he was awake anymore. He didn’t feel like he was awake. Damnit!!! Just wake up already!!!
Sasuke was drenched in sweat when he sat straight up in bed. It had only been a bad dream. A reoccurring one, that he hadn’t had in many weeks. It was always dark and he felt disconnected from his body, although he was unable to see what was going on. He knew he had been hurt somehow. He figured this was what had happened during that accident a long time ago. He knew it involved a car, but couldn’t remember the specifics. His parents liked to keep the details from him, saying it wasn’t important anymore. He also knew that after the accident he had lost control of his short term memory. He remembered struggling through classes that he was once the top student in. But he worked hard and his memory came back to him, as far as academics go. He still couldn’t remember the accident or anything before it other than schoolwork. His parent’s were right, it really didn’t matter because now he was just as successful as he would have been had he not been hit by a car.
Shakily, he got out of bed and showered, recomposing himself while doing so. Dressing in more casual attire, jeans and a tight-fitting Versace tee. He wanted to be comfortable on the long drive back to Konoha. For breakfast he ate a grapefruit and some yogurt. They would probably be stopping for lunch on the road. Afterwards, he brushed his teeth and double-checked to make sure everything he needed was secured in the suitcase. A lightbulb popped into his head, and he walked to the dresser, pulling out a pair of blue and black swim trunks with a red and white fan pattern. He wondered if Naruto was aware that his parents had a pool. He snatched his cell phone out of his pocket and dialed the blond’s number.
“Hello?” The blond answered. Sasuke cleared his throat.
“I probably forgot to tell you that my parents have an indoor and outdoor pool. Just in case you want to go swimming I would bring a bathing suit. I like doing a few laps myself in the early morning.” He informed Naruto, who didn’t say anything for a moment.
“Oh, alright. Hey Sasuke, about last night I-”, but he was cut off.
“Don’t worry about it. I shouldn’t have had so many drinks.” Sasuke replied casually. Naruto sighed in relief, hoping it was not audible over the phone.
“So, you’re not mad?” Naruto asked, still lightly unconvinced. Sasuke sighed.
“No, of course not. Geez it wasn’t as if we had sex. It was a harmless little kiss. I don’t see any reason to make it something it wasn’t and make the weekend an awkward deal.” Sasuke finished, feeling the need to add, “Accidents happen when you drink too much.” Naruto grimaced. So Sasuke viewed it as an accident. Which was really a good thing, though, because he wasn’t angry or anything. Naruto smiled.
“Alright well that’s a relief. So, I’m ready whenever you want to come get me. Just have to pack a bathing suit.” He said as he crossed his room to get a bathing suit out of the dresser. Kiba had left a while ago, so Naruto was eager to see Sasuke again. Especially since Sasuke wasn’t angry with him.
“Well, I’m about done too. Might as well start driving early.” Sasuke said goodbye to Naruto and hung up, shoving the phone back into his pocket. He closed the suitcase and zipped it up. Since he wanted to be comfortable for the ride, he pulled on some old, black Chuck Taylors (the only decently priced thing he owned), and grabbed his keys. Locking up his apartment, he walked down to the garage. His favorite car to travel in was his jet-black Lotus Exige. He wouldn’t deny he liked the speed of it. It was a thrill in his otherwise dull life. He popped the trunk and put his suitcase in it. The trunk was a tiny thing, and he hoped Naruto didn’t have a suit case much bigger than his or else it wouldn’t fit. He sat in the driver’s side and drove to Naruto’s.
Parking the car in the same spot as the night before, he got out and made his way up to Naruto’s apartment. He knocked and was greeted almost immediately by the blond, grinning like an idiot. He had a obnoxious orange suitcase which was, much to Sasuke’s relief, slightly smaller than his, and an army fatigue backpack slung over his shoulder. He was wearing some black shorts and an orange muscle shirt. He looked ready to go on a camping excursion, in Sasuke’s opinion. He waited while Naruto locked up his apartment and put on some dark sunglasses. Sasuke raised an eyebrow, but lead the way to his car. Naruto did a twelve-take when he saw the Lotus.
“Fuck Sasuke! How many damn cars do you have?!” He exclaimed, putting his suitcase on top of Sasuke’s in the trunk and shutting it delicately. He climbed next to Sasuke in the passenger’s seat and pulled down the suicide door. Sasuke pulled a pair of Christian Dior sunglasses out of the glove compartment and fired the engine up. Naruto felt the car purr underneath him and Sasuke revved the engine. They sped out of the complex and turned onto the busy city street.
“Only three, but I use them all for different things.” He replied, answering Naruto’s question. “I like to travel with this one because my parents hate it and it’s fast.” Naruto laughed lightheartedly. Sasuke was being completely natural with him and it made him happy. It felt like they were old buddies going to his parent’s for the weekend. He grinned to himself thinking that that was half true. Sasuke looked over.
“Why are you grinning like a moron?” He asked, turning onto the highway. Now he could really put the car to work. He shifted into third then fourth. Naruto glanced at Sasuke and grinned.
“So you like going fast hm?” He joked. Sasuke smirked.
“You wish huh? Well don’t get any ideas, Naruto. You know why you’re here. Don’t confuse that for something more.” He said, rather coldly. Naruto nodded, but smirked on the inside. He’s already proved that Sasuke might be harboring some very hidden emotions towards him. At least maybe there was an attraction. He would uncover it before the weekend was over.
“Alright, alright. Hey look.” He pointed out the window at a Lambourghini trying to keep speed with him. Sasuke smirked and pushed his Dior’s up onto the bridge of his nose and pressed slightly harder on the gas. Naruto had to admit Sasuke never looked so sexy as he did at that moment. The guy in the other car, with a red-dye-haired bimbo in a slinky dress in the passenger’s seat, looked over at Sasuke. The raven pretended, very coolly, not to notice and eased ahead of the Lambo. The guy didn’t seem to like this, so he stepped on the gas and inched in front of Sasuke. A sexy smirk played across his lips and he slowed down. Just as the man was getting several feet in front of Sasuke’s Lotus, the mischievous raven looked over at Naruto.
“Floor it.” The blond stated. Sasuke shifted into fifth and then sixth, zooming past the Lambo before the guy even knew what was going on. Naruto laughed loudly, not noticing the back of the mommy van, quickly approaching. When he did he looked wide-eyed at Sasuke. “Uuuh… Sasuke…?” He wasn’t sure the raven even heard him because the car continued barreling towards the van. Within six feet of the van, Sasuke swerved into the other lane and passed it.
“I know how to drive my car.” Was all he said. Naruto grinned and slumped down in his seat. That was for damn sure. Sasuke looked in the review mirror at the, now small, Lambourghini. “That guy isn’t getting any tonight.” He remarked smugly.
The two chatted idly for another hour or so. It was well past afternoon and they still hadn’t stopped to eat. As they were passing through a small town Sasuke turned off and parked in the lot of a Taco Bell. They decided to go inside and eat. After ordering, and getting their food, they sat in a small booth where Sasuke could keep an eye on his car. As they were about to start eating, Sasuke’s phone went off. He pulled the small device out of his pocket and flipped it open.
“Uchiha Sas- Hi mom.” He corrected himself. He figured his mother was probably asking where they were. Naruto watched in fascination as Sasuke talked to his mom. “We’re almost there. We got hungry so we stopped at a Taco Bell.”
“Oh well, Itachi just came in. He’s napping right now, but he should be up when you get home. He sounded so excited to see you!! He’s missed his little brother so much!” Mikoto said, which Naruto could not hear.
“Yeah we should be there in twenty or so minutes.” Sasuke replied, looking at his watch.
“Well?” Mikoto asked, expecting Sasuke to know what she was talking about. Of course he did because he had been waiting for the topic to pop up. He sighed heavily.
“Yes, I’ve brought my boyfriend with me.” He told her, glancing up at Naruto who was smiling knowingly. Mikoto squealed in delight.
“Sasuke!!! You little liar! You told me you didn’t have one!!!” She accused, though she was still giggling.
“Well I thought I could save him from being completely overtaken by my family.” He joked, and his mother laughed all the more.
“Well I am sooo very anxious to meet him! As you’re father will be, I am sure.” She assured him. “But for now, I am requested at the golf course. If you get here while we’re still out, just drive a golf cart out!”
“I will. Bye Mom.” He waited until she said goodbye and hung up, replacing the phone in its home in his pocket. He looked at Naruto again. “That was my mom.”
“No really? I couldn’t tell.” Naruto replied sarcastically, rolling his eyes. “What did she say?”
“She asked if I had brought a boyfriend… I told her yes.” He took a bite of his nachos. “I guess she’s going golfing now. Itachi is there, but he’s sleeping. Maybe you’ll have time to get settled in for the weekend before everyone in my family smothers you.” Naruto laughed and started eating his soft tacos (which Sasuke made a joke about: soft tacos). Their lunch went by smoothly and they were back on the road again. Naruto knew it wouldn’t be long before they were in Konoha. They listened to the radio for the rest of the way; it only took them another fifteen minutes to get into Konoha.
Uchiha Estates was on the outskirts of Konoha. The main manor wasn’t even visible from the road. When Sasuke pulled up to the ginormous gate with the fan crests wrought into it, he put the window down and reached his arm out to press a little box to the side.
“Uchiha Estates.” A very clear, pronounced voice expelled from the box.
“It’s Sasuke! Open the damn gate!!!” He yelled, rather impatiently. Before them, the gates swung slowly open. Sasuke drove inside, going along what appeared to be a paved country road. They passed stables and pastures with horses until the ominous-looking Uchiha Manor came into sight. Naruto felt slightly intimidated by the two-story, sprawling house. There was a large porch wrapped around it. It was very traditional Japanese-style. Sasuke parked right in front of the house behind a pearly white Rolls Royce.
“It’s Itachi’s.” Sasuke informed Naruto, seeing the blond eyeing it. He climbed out of the car and walked in through the front door. Naruto followed him, staying a couple feet behind. Despite the whole thing being a lie, he was still nervous. He felt a burning need for Sasuke’s parents to approve of him. It might make wooing Sasuke easier. They entered into a foyer that was the size of Naruto’s entire house growing up. There were two sets of staircases on either side and many halls and doorways leading to other parts of the house.
“Doesn’t look like there’s anyone actually here, does it?” Sasuke asked, turning to look at Naruto. The blond nodded. “It pretty much always looks like this.”
The two went up a flight of stairs and down a long hallway to the last door on the right. Sasuke opened it and stepped into his old room. Naruto followed and looked around. It was pretty much how he imagined any room of Sasuke’s. The colors were blue and black and everything matched. The bed, he noted, was enormous. Heh, nice.
“Set your things anywhere. I suppose we’re going to have to share my room to make it look convincing.” Sasuke said, throwing his suitcase on “his side” of the bed. Naruto set his down on the other side. Sasuke figured he might as well show Naruto around, so they explored the house. There was a massive kitchen downstairs where several chefs were busy preparing dishes for dinner and Itachi’s party. The dining room was adjacent to the kitchen. It was very western style, with a high table and raised chairs. They also examined living rooms and family rooms. There was a pool hall/game room for guests. They wondered into the indoor pool, and then back out. There was a gallery with many different kinds of priceless artwork. His father’s study, a breakfast nook, a drawing room, and a small library. Naruto was amazed that anyone could walk through the house without getting lost. The bedrooms were upstairs. There were fifty of them, all with bathrooms en suite. They returned to Sasuke’s bedroom. They agreed it would probably be nice to take a little nap before things started getting busy. Naruto had to meet Sasuke’s parents, then there was dinner, and the family always did something together afterwards. Itachi’s party wasn’t until the next day. So they both settled into the massive bed, each staying on their respective sides, and fell asleep.

Alrighty well, what did you think? I know I pretty much gave away the
whole mystery of their past.... but I thought it would make a little nice drama. I'll eventually get to what specifically happened. This chapter was a little rushed, I’ll admit. It’s hard to extend a car ride. And I figured if I described every single room in the entire house, it would get really boring. I figure I’ll just explain each room individually if they’re ever in it. Works for me.
Next Chapter: Meeting the Family
Until then,

Until then,
