Chapter 2: Finding you
He was currently running through the forest. Hopping from one tree to another, while the wind was gracing the golden fur, his long, nine tails wagging playfully. On the next branch he came to a stop. Blue slitted eyes narrowed, scanning the area for sudden changes. Then he felt it – a sudden burst of
powerful Chakra. Concentrating on the pulsing Chakra the fox was able to make out the location of the disturbing energy. 'It has to be more than one human, the Chakra is coming from.' Were the creatures calculating thoughts. Turning his elegant body in the direction the Chakra was coming from, he continued in his searching way.
After not more than five minutes, he reached his destination. Hiding behind a tree the fox masked his own Chakra so the three humans in front of him, wouldn't notice him. Straining his furred ears, he listened to their conversation.
“Is everyone alright?” Asked the silver-haired man in a mix of boredom and slight concern.
“Yes we're fine Kakashi-sensei.” replied the pink-haired girl, who was currently sitting on a stone, resting her tired muscles. Beneath her stood a tall boy with short black hair and dark eyes. The fox could make out the piece of shining metal with a leaf symbol gracing his forehead. 'So they're Konoha Shinobi.' Mused the eavesdropping fox.
“Kakashi-sensei, we have to find Sasuke-kun! He might be injured...w-what if they have k-killed him!” said the pinkette with a trembling voice and unshed tears in her emerald eyes.
“I know Sakura, I've already sent out Pakkun and my other dogs to find him...there is no need to panic now. First we have to report to Tsunade-sama about the incident.” replied the one-eyed Shinobi in a calm voice, trying to reassure the upset girl.
“B-But..-” she inquired but the raven cut her off. “Kakashi-sensei is right, Sakura-san. There isn't much we can do. If we're trying to find him now, we will just get lost in the forest without a trace.”
The pink-haired girl took a deep breath before sighing loudly. “Yes you're right Sai. I'm sorry.”
“Don't be Sakura-san, I know you're worried about him but I'm sure he's fine.” He gave her a small smile which seemed to calm her down more. “Thank you.” was her quiet reply.
“Well since this is settled. We can go back to the village now.” informed the teacher his students.
They both nodded and than they took of.
'Well that's interesting' the fox thought 'It seems there is another one left'. while listening to their conversation, he tried to find out the other occupants Chakra, but he wasn't able to find anything.
'I hope the boy and the scarecrow are right and their friend is OK.' Being the kind-hearted creature that he was, he couldn't help but be worried about their other teammate. He didn't think long before he made up his mind and tried to find their lost comrade. Straining his advanced senses, he took off
in the direction he had come from in search of a certain teammate.
While traveling trough the familiar forest, he began to wonder what happened to those humans. To him it seemed they got caught in a fight if their wounds were an indication. And while they were fighting their teammate must have been separated from them. 'I wonder who they were fighting...nobody goes in that forest...' he thought sadly. He came to a halt when his nose caught a familiar scent. /It's blood./ Said the fox aloud in his own language. Picking up is pace, he tried to find the source of that smell. Then he saw him.
There on the ground lay in puddle of blood a dark-haired, pale skinned boy. He jumped off of the tree branch he was standing on, landing gracefully on the forest floor. Narrowing his sapphire eyes on the stranger he could make out that the boy was barely alive. The raven-haired teen was panting heavily, as if he wasn't getting enough air to breath, his beautiful face was covered in cuts and bruises. Sweat was running down the pale neck and the fox was able to see the large gash on the boys upper arm and left thigh. Walking on silent paws the fox closed the distance between him an the teen. When he was standing beneath the boy, the creature looked into the most beautiful midnight eyes he had ever seen, before they finally slid shut.
Panic raised within the fox, knowing that the teen was slowly dying. He lowered his head onto the passed out Shinobi, feeling slightly relieved that he could still hear a heartbeat. Scooting Sasuke's right arm into his mouth, closing it carefully so the fox wouldn't bite off the ravens arm with his razor-sharp fangs. With a violent jerk of his head, he slung the injured Uchiha onto his furred back.
Wrapping his nine fluffy tails around the teen to keep him warm and secured, he dashed off deep into the forest.
It didn't take the fox long before he reached his destination with his companion. Before them lies a small lake with crystal clear water. The lake wasn't very deep. It would only reach to a mans chest.
The trees surrounding the lake were very high with wide crowns, letting only small shafts of sunlight trough. In the middle of the breathtaking lake was a small island with a beautiful Sakura tree, standing in full blossom. Taking a deep breath the fox made his way over to the small island. Gathering Chakra in his paws he walked in a quick pace over the lake.
When he reached the island, we walked around the Sakura tree to find a small cave under the the other side of the tree. Feeling more than reassured that he finally reached his home – or lair – the fox crawled inside the cave with the passed out Sasuke on his back. Walking trough the familiar tunnels till he reached a 'room' what looked like the fox's home. Gently laying the injured teen on a makeshift straw-bed, the fox let out another sigh.
'Well I think it's time to put you together again ne?' thought the fox in a gentle voice before he gathered his Chakra , the light blue energy surrounding his whole body. Then his form began to change. The ears were disappearing, the tails, and also the fur. His paws were changing into hands, while his animal legs transformed into those of a human. When the light blue Chakra disappeared, there was no longer a fox standing but a human boy.
Silky golden tresses were framing the boys beautiful tanned face. Large indigo blue eyes with long golden lashes were looking gently at the black haired-boy. On the golden-haired teens cheek were the faint traces of tree whisker-like marks. The boy was clad in a light blue yukata which was matching his eyes perfectly. Then the boys soft pink lips moved when he saw the raven-haired teen shiver.
“Don't worry, everything will be OK now and soon you will be with your friends again.” Were the soft words of the fox-boy in perfect human language before he knelt down beside Sasuke, his left hand glowing with light blue Chakra while his right hand was removing the boys hitae-ate. Then he put his glowing hand onto the ravens sweaty forehead. As soon as the golden teens hand touched the Uchiha's skin the shivering ceased an the boy began slowly healing...
