Chapter Two

Hello, thanks for the reviews. I'm happy there are people who like my story. I hope the ones who've read it, have read these authors notes, as I did warn that there would be Anita Blake bashing, as I really don't like her character.

Anyway, I hope even because of that, you continue to read. Hope you like the second chapter.

Oh and please ignore any spelling and puntuation mistakes. I'm actually doing a home writing course and I've only just started, so hopefully when I'm finished with it, I will be able to write and have no mistakes, well that's what I hope. So, I'll shut up now.

Chapter Two

Naruto eyed the man suspiciously. “What do you want to talk about?” He asked.

“Why don’t we go to my office?” Jean-Claude asked.

Naruto shook his head. “I’m haven’t got time. I’m searching for someone.”

The black haired vampire narrowed his eyes, he was not pleased. He was used to being obeyed. “This is my city your in, as I am the master vampire.”

Naruto raised an eyebrow, so this man wasn‘t a man, he was a vampire. He knew the man didn‘t smell right, and now he knew why. “Does it look like I care? I’m not a vampire, so you don’t own me.” He backed up and smirked as the remaining vampires, were-wolves and leopards started surrounding him. “I guess the only way out of here is to fight.”

Jean-Claude looked round and held up a hand, but it was too late, he looked back in time to see the blonde hold up his hands and he disappeared in a puff of smoke.

He looked at the spot where the boy had been only moments ago. He shook his head, and wondered if he would see him again as he wanted to talk with him. He looked to Meng Die and she flinched from the look her master was giving her. She knew her punishment would be severe. She would make that little blonde bit pay.

--

Naruto appeared where he had arrived. The place where he fell when he came through the chakra. He paused and looked around, he couldn’t sense anything and he had no idea where he should go. He whimpered, he wanted Sasuke.

Well, he couldn’t wait around here all night. He began to walk, and hoped he would find a place where he could rest.

--

Later that night, Orochimaru and Kabuto were standing outside a huge building called the ‘Circus of the Damned.’ The snake-like man liked the name and with Kabuto by his side, they entered the building and found somewhere to hide.

While they were hiding, Orochimaru sensed a presence, and stilled. This presence felt much like him. He turned and saw a woman, well that was what she looked like, but she also looked like a snake. He could see the woman’s tongue was forked.

As he was entranced by the snake-woman, he didn’t notice that she had sensed him. Melanie turned and saw a man, who looked rather snake-like. With her astonishing speed, she was in front of him, before he could blink.

“Who are you?” She demanded, looking from the snake-like man, to the young silver haired man, who looked frightened.

“I am Orochimaru, and this is my companion Kabuto. May I ask what you are?”

Melanie cocked her head to the side. She didn’t know what to think of this strange man, so she answered. “I am Melanie, the last of the lamia.”

Orochimaru’s jaw dropped. “But they are extinct.” His mind began to whirl at the possibilities. The lamia were immortal. What could this mean for him? He hid his excitement at being able to use this woman’s body, he would then realise his dream, he would be immortal. “I am sorry, it is an honour to meet with you.” He bowed his head.

Melanie narrowed her eyes, this little man irked her in a way she did not understand. “Why are you in the masters dwelling? You are not to be here.”

“I am sorry, we are lost and we were looking for sanctuary.”

Melanie paused. She should really take this to Jean-Claude. “I will have to speak with the master. Follow me.” She led them through the circus and down some steps. Her master had been back for an hour. She knocked on the door, and when she was granted entry, she turned to the two men behind her. “Please stay here a moment.” She entered the room and fought the sneer as she caught sight of Anita. She turned to the Master vampire. “I have two men waiting outside, asking for sanctuary.”

Jean-Claude nodded. “Are they supernatural?”

Melanie pursed her lips. “One of them looks like a snake, the other is a young man.”

The dark haired vampire frowned. “I thought you were the only lamia left?”

“That is indeed true. I know he is not of the lamia, what he is I do not know.”

“Very well, send them in.”

Melanie opened the door and ushered for the men to enter.

Jean-Claude stood when he recognised the men from earlier. Schooling his expression, he motioned for the two men to sit. “Now, I understand you are seeking sanctuary?” He paused as the two nodded. “Very well, I will allow you to stay. May I ask what part of the supernatural community you are apart of?”

Kabuto frowned. “We are humans.” The young man looked around the room, and saw there were many people. He had never felt intimidated before, but he did now. Their was an ominous presence surrounding them and he didn’t like it.

Jean-Claude just nodded, he could sense a power coming from the two, a power he was unfamiliar with, so if having the two stay, he might find out more information about them. He stood. “Jason. Will you show these two men to the guest room?”

The blonde were-wolf nodded and motioned for the men to follow him. Jean-Claude sat back down, and looked to his companions and friends. “Well, they are the two men that young blonde boy is searching for. If we keep them close, maybe we will meet the boy again and I will get the answers I want.”

Anita just nodded, she got a funny feeling from the snake-like looking man. He just didn’t feel right.

--

When the sun rose, Naruto groaned and stretched. He had wandered for a long time last night and found a small forest and had taken refuge in a tall tree, where he had spent the night in a fit of restlessness. He hadn’t slept alone for along time, since he and Sasuke had gotten together. He had moved in with his lover and had shared his bed ever since. Without Sasuke to cuddle, the nightmares had come back.

Climbing down, he rubbed his stomach, he was hungry. He had no money, but even if he did, it probably wouldn’t mean anything in this world. Closing his eyes, he shut down his senses, apart from his hearing and he heard everything that was in the forest, the swaying of the leaves, the birds chirping in the sky and rustling of small animals. Lifting his nose to the air, he sniffed, and smelt rabbit. Using his fox instincts, he fled and caught the rabbit.

After setting a fire, and cleaning the rabbit from his water bottle, he began to cook the meat and sat before the fire. While he was eating, he thought about what to do. Kyuubi was still sleeping, the fox had yet to wake and he felt more alone than ever. He also wanted Sasuke. He sighed and cleaned up, before moving on.

He had been walking for many hours and the sun was beginning to set. He had not sensed Orochimaru and Kabuto and wondered where the snake could be. Before he knew it, he was back outside ‘Guilty Pleasures’, he paused and wondered whether to go back into the place.

“Mon enfant?”

Naruto turned and saw the blonde haired vampire from last night behind him. He took a step back and narrowed his eyes. “What did you call me?”

“Ah, it is my child in French.”

Naruto nodded. All that meant to him was ‘my child’ in a different language. “What is it you want from me?” Naruto asked.

“I am Asher, and I wish nothing of you. My master does wish to speak with you.”

Naruto shook his head. “Anyone that tries to get into my head is not a friend.”

Asher just nodded. “He did not wish for that to happen. Will you accompany me in? Jean-Claude is not here tonight, so we can talk.”

Naruto thought for a moment and decided, what the hell. He was tired and wanted to sit down. “Okay.” He followed Asher.

--

Sasuke, Neji and Gaara were in a forest and were eating what they had caught. The dark haired ninja sighed. They had been in this world for only a short time and he did not like it. And he wanted Naruto, he didn’t feel right without his dobe by his side.

They had been walking round for a long time. They had come to a house near the edge of the forest and were going to seek help, but when they saw a woman emerge, with a long haired man with her from the house and get into one of those metal things that moved on wheels, they retreated and they were now sat down eating.

Sasuke suppressed a sigh as he watched Gaara and Neji. The two weren’t showing each other affection, but you could tell the way they felt about each other from their looks and touch, and it made him feel lonelier and craved Naruto’s touch.

--

Naruto felt relaxed and was beginning to feel comfortable in Asher’s company. The blonde vampire had just finished telling him about St. Louis, which was where he was, and about the supernatural community.

“So, mon enfant… what are you? I know you are more than a mere child-”

“Please do not call me a child. In my village, I am classed as an adult. We have to grow up very young. I had to grow up very young.” He said quietly, thinking of the way he had to grow up. Asher saw the boy’s hand unconsciously move to its stomach. Naruto shook his head. “So is there something you wish to know?”

Asher nodded. “I know you are not human, what are you?”

Naruto pursed his lips. “Do I have your oath that you will not tell anyone? Especially your master? He has to gain my trust first.”

Asher paused. Could he keep this a secret from his master? He just nodded, they needed this boy to trust them. “You have my oath that this will go no further.”

Naruto nodded and settled more comfortably into his chair and began to tell Asher everything about himself.

--

Orochimaru felt weak. He had nearly been three years and this body was deteriorating. He needed a new host, that was what he was after when he and Kabuto dived through the chakra. He had been hoping to either have Sasuke or Naruto as his new host, but now in this world, he had found a better host. The lamia Melanie was immortal and he hoped in that body, he would have achieved what he had been hoping to gain for years.

He and Kabuto were in the circus watching Melanie as she performed before her audience. He would have to act and soon.
