Naruto, CSI

A/N: Thank you to those of you who reviewed the first chapter. Your reviews are really encouraging.

Word_slave: No, I've never read any Charlain Harris. Next time I'm looking for something to read I'll make sure to keep my eyes open for it.

Lilith: I'll do my absolute best to try and complete this. I'm surprised there aren't more vampfics out there. Some of the characters just seem so perfect for it. Sasori, because he never ages. Orochimaru, snake > fangs > vampire. I could probably go on forever.

Anyway, here is chapter 2. I hope you like it as much as the first.

Warning: My inner pervert escaped again while I was writing this.
Disclaimer: As much as I wish I did, I do not own Naruto.

Chapter 2

Konohamaru smiled as a bright orange Lamborghini convertible approached the Sarutobi estate. He approached the car as it attempted to wedge itself between two police cars. Naruto got out of the car, his orange shirt mostly unbuttoned fluttered in the breeze revealing his perfectly tanned skin. His black trousers clung to his round, slender ass as he made his way to the trunk where his assistant was waiting for him.

“Nice car. Over-compensating much?”

“Jealous much?” Naruto smirked as he clipped Konohamaru round the back of the head. “That’s for dragging me out of bed this morning!”

Konohamaru rubbed the back of the head as he watched the blond reach into his trunk and pull out a small toolbox. His eyebrow twitched as the next item out of the trunk was a pair of orange overalls. The shirt that matched the colour of his car was one thing, but orange overalls too?

“You sure know how to dress for work.” He winced as Naruto’s hand connected with the back of his head for the second time that morning.

“Gotta look good in case I run into any hot policewomen. Speaking of which, who’s in the charge up there?” He motioned towards the large house. “Please tell me it’s not that pervert Jiraiya again.”

This time it was Naruto’s turn to be surprised as a hand smacked into the back of his head. “I am not a pervert! And what’s so wrong about me being in charge?” Jiraiya folded his arms against his creased, brown suit and white shirt. Konohamaru’s hand shot up to his mouth as he tried to suppress a small chuckle, earning him a quick glare from his teacher.

A grin creeped across Naruto’s face as he turned to face the large man. “I was just hoping Tenten would be in charge today. Haven’t heard from her since I gave her my number.”

“Hmph.” Jiraiya did not look amused. He turned and began the long walk up the driveway. “Don’t be long, kid. They’re waiting for your expert opinion before they can move the body.” Naruto had already slipped into his brightly coloured overalls and started making his way to the house. His assistant’s navy overalls were a stark contrast to his own. Gotta buy that kid some less depressing work overalls, he thought to himself. Sure they hid the bloodstains better but in his mind that was no reason for not looking good.

The young duo approached the front door of the house as a black blur flew out of the house, almost knocking Naruto to the floor, and proceeded to empty the contents of it’s stomach onto the nearby flowerbed. A voice could be heard muttering about rookies and their weak stomachs as they entered the house. Konohamaru led the way to the bedroom where Jiraiya stood waiting. A gust of wind blew through the house, carrying with it the scent of blood and faeces. Experience had taught Naruto to breathe through his mouth near murder scenes, however it seemed his assistant was still learning. The blond looked amused as Konohamaru gagged on the smell. Luckily this time he wouldn’t have a repeat of his first murder scene. Throwing up on the officer in charge was never a good thing.

“Have fun.” Jiraiya grinned, opening the door to the room behind him. Naruto’s senses were assaulted all at once as he stepped inside. So much blood. The body of an old man lay half naked on the bed, his stomach looking as if it had exploded. Blood stained the white sheets and had dripped onto the red carpet below. The smell of death coated his lungs, threatening to do to him what it had already done to the officer who nearly knocked him over on his way in. Naruto placed his toolbox on a table near the entrance and pulled out a pair of latex gloves. He snapped the gloves over his hands and moved slowly towards the body. The carpet squelched under his feet as he neared the bed.

The old man lay there shirtless, his wrists and ankles were bound tightly to the corners of the bed with what appeared to be purple silk. The hole in his stomach was messy. Lumps of flesh lay scattered around the body, but there weren’t enough lumps to fill the hole. Naruto’s eyes made their way back up the body of the old man. A quick look at the man’s neck told him there were no bite marks. His wrists were also untouched.

Konohamaru, as if sensing his teacher’s confusion, made his way over to the bed. “The bite marks are on the back of his left shoulder.” Sure enough the bite marks were there. Two, small, neat holes each with a trail of dried blood leaving them and running down the man’s shoulder.

“So what’s the verdict?” Jiraiya had been stood in the doorway watching the blond examine the corpse.

“What do you think, Konohamaru?” Naruto nudged his assistant, motioning for him to answer.

“Well it was definitely a vampire attack, the bite marks tell us that much. But the position of the bite mark is unusual; it’s not near any of the major blood vessels. It could be a kind of signature.” Naruto smiled at his assistant and gave a quick nod.

“What about the hole in the stomach?” Jiraiya asked.

The young raven hesitated, looking towards his teacher for help.

“Werewolf.” Naruto stated.

“There hasn’t been a werewolf attack since the Zabuza case you worked last year. What makes you so sure?” Jiraiya watched Naruto curiously, waiting for an answer.

At the mention of the name Zabuza the blond’s hands had moved towards his face of their own accord. His fingertips traced the scars lightly, highlighting them with the old man’s blood. Zabuza had been a serial killer, a werewolf and was the one who had given him the whisker-like scars on his face.

“I don’t have time for your daydreaming, kid.” Naruto shook off the images and turned to look at the white-haired man stood in the doorway, impatiently tapping his foot.

“The carpet here is sticky.” Jiraiya seemed puzzled by the response. Naruto crouched, pressing his hand to the floor. He lifted his hand revealing a clear, sticky substance on the palm of his glove. “When a werewolf changes form they leave behind this stuff.” He moved towards the man, holding out his hand for him to see.

“So one vampire and a werewolf?” The blond nodded as Jiraiya began scribbling on a small pad. “Anything else you can tell me?”

“He wasn’t killed for food. If that bite mark on his shoulder is a signature then you might have a serial killer on your hands.”

“Great, that’s just what this town needs.” Jiraiya turned and began walking towards the stairs. “I’ll let the guys downstairs know you’re finished with the body.” With that he disappeared round the corner.

Naruto removed his gloves and dropped them in a black plastic bag that had been placed near the door. He reached for his toolbox; a small mirror caught his attention. Blue eyes widened as they noticed the blood decorating the faint scars. A reminder of his encounter with Zabuza. A reminder of what he had become.

“You okay, Naruto?” Konohamaru stood in the doorway holding out a tissue. The blond forced a smile for his friend.

“Just tired, I guess.” He took the tissue and wiped his cheeks. Some of the blood stubbornly refused to move causing him to press harder. His skin felt raw from the rubbing but he was happy just to have the blood gone. “Let’s go.”

The two of them made their way out of the large, stuffy house. Outside was little better, the sun shone down on them relentlessly. The overalls were soon off.

“Looks like it’s gonna be another really warm day.” Naruto started to undo the last few buttons on his shirt. Dark eyes watched as a bead of sweat slowly trickled down the blond’s chest and over the lean muscles in his stomach. Konohamaru licked his lips instinctively, wishing he’d gotten the chance to catch the sweat drop with his tongue, to taste the luscious-looking skin. A gentle nudge from behind brought him back to reality. Jiraiya stood behind him and gave him a knowing smirk; his cheeks flushed with colour when he realised he had been staring.

“You okay, Konohamaru?” Naruto’s hand pressed against his assistant’s forehead causing his blush to intensify. “You’re burning up. Come, I got an icebox in my trunk with some bottled water.”

----------------------------------------------------------

The cold water helped calm the young boy’s body. He sipped quietly, stealing quick glances at the slightly older boy stood next to him. Konohamaru almost choked when the blond poured a bottle of icy water over himself and shook his head. His messy blond hair shook drops in all directions. Water ran down his chest, showing his now hard nipples through the thin, wet, orange material.

“I… uh… I should get going. Thanks for helping me out, I owe you!” Konohamaru turned and started to walk off. A slight twinge in his boxers had told him it was time to leave before things got awkward. A hand gripping the back of his shirt collar stopped him.

“I seem to remember you saying something about ramen when you woke me up this morning.”

“I did?” The cold hand released its grip slowly and moved to open the passenger-side door.

“Get in. I’ll drive you home after.” Konohamaru reluctantly obeyed, using his backpack that held his overalls to hide his partial erection from the seemingly oblivious blond. Naruto made his way round to the driver’s side, choosing to hop in rather than open the door. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and flipped it open. A few button presses later and it was pressed against his ear.

“Hey, you busy?” Naruto fumbled with the ignition. “Great, meet me at Ichiraku in fifteen. I got a favour to ask of you.” Another short pause as the engine sparked to life. “Cheers, I owe you.” The phone snapped shut. Naruto smiled as he manoeuvred out of the tight parking space. Thoughts of ramen danced inside his head as he contemplated what he would order. The young passenger grinned, knowing exactly what Naruto was thinking. So easy to please.

A/N: Wow, that's longer than most of the essays I wrote at Uni. No sign of the smexy Sasuke yet and things seem to be going a bit KonoNaru xD. Don't worry, the sex god himself should hopefully make an appearance at the end of the next chapter.

If you enjoyed this chapter, please review. (If you don't I'm so bumping Sasuke back into chapter 4 *evil face*).
