Chapter 2
Looking around he only saw darkness. He shivered as the cold seeped into his bones.
'Where am I?' He wondered.
'Kyuubi, where are you?'
'Kit....kit.....'
Naruto could barely hear the fox demon. What was happening to him? Where was he?
He started to panic until he felt a touch of warmth. The feeling started to flow up his arm and throughout his body. He closed his eyes enjoying the feeling. The warmth felt familiar like he’s been waiting to feel it his whole life.
~~
The dark nin looked down as Naruto wrapped his tan fingers around his hand. "Naruto?"
Tsunade looked down at him as he slowly opened his eyes. She also noticed that Sasuke gently pulled his hand from Naruto's and stepped back. His eye back to their darkness, his stoic face back in place, He turned to look at the Hokage and shook his head then vanished.
Shaking her head, “what an idiot brat, one day he's going to have to tell him."
~~~
His blue eyes stared out the window from where he lay. He didn’t want to get up all he wanted to do was disappear and never be found again; that would make the villagers happy. This feeling had been eating away at him ever since he opened his eyes. The moment he looked into Tsunades’s golden orbs and saw pity for him, that’s when he knew what he wanted to do, had to do. He closed his eyes remembering the warmth he felt. He felt so good but then it was gone.
He thought he was strong enough to fight back. He was suppose to be a powerful ninja but he felt more like a coward and a weakling. He wanted to make the pain stop. Those men will do that again and again until they kill him.
Naruto sat up and swung his legs over the bed and stood. His legs were a little weak but he managed as he headed toward the door. He walked out not caring if anyone saw him. He wished his dreams were real because in those fantastic images he was happy and with the one that he loved. Shaking his head at the foolishness of his thinking he headed toward the door marked roof access. His reality will never be happy. He can never be with the one he loved because he would only end up hurting him and he couldn’t do that.
~but kit wouldn’t this hurt him too? ~ The fox asked.
~the hurt won’t last long. He’ll move on, find a woman to continue his clan and be happy~ the blonde told the fox.
~being able to see your face seems to make the brat…happy~
Kyuu knew his kit was hurting. He was in so much pain that he would not stop him, but he had to try something. The fox demon, unbeknownst to Naruto sent out a small mind pulse toward a certain dark haired man.
Naruto opened the door to the roof and stepped out. His eyes gazed up into the grey sky, “rain,” he said as he walked closer to the edge, “just like at the thirds funeral. At least the heavens will cry for me,” he whispered as he stepped up onto the ledge.
Thunder rumbled in the distance as the first rain drop fell.
~
Sasuke was speeding back toward the hospital with an ominous feeling like something terrible was about to happen. He raced into the hospital heading toward Naruto’s room. Once he reached the door he could hear the Hokage cursing. He opened the door.
Tsunade was worried and mad, “damn it gaki!” she hissed as she turned to face Sasuke.
A nurse rushed past him, “Hokage-sama, we can’t find him! We checked everywhere!” The frantic nurse told her.
“Where are you,” she said aloud.
Sasuke stared at the blond then closed his eyes. ‘Where are you…naruto’ he thought. Just as he was opening his eyes he had a feeling, a bad feeling about where he was. He turned and ran from the room. He stood in the hall looking up and down the corridors searching for something. “Shit,” he cursed as he ran toward the door marked roof access.
Tsunade saw where the dark nin ran and cursed herself. “Why,” she said as she ran after him.
Naruto stood on the edge looking out over the village. This was the home that he loved but the people hated him, loathed him for having Kyu inside him. Smirking, “no one would miss me,” he whispered as he looked down. The pain will stop with just one step, he told himself as he closed his eyes.
The rain came down lightly, coating his blonde hair with mist. Tears slide down his whiskered cheeks as he thought of Sasuke. Shaking his head, “no, he’s better off with out me,” he whispered as he started to fall forward.
Sasuke opened the door in time to hear the blonde say something about ‘he’s better off without me’ and then he saw him falling.
“NARUTO!” He shouted as he shot toward the falling man. Sasuke reached out and grabbed the blonde’s sleeve. But he didn’t have a good grip. He looked down into sad blue eyes. “Naruto,’ he whispered as he started to pull him up.
“Stop Sasuke and let me go…”
“No,” the dark nin told him as he continued to pull him up. “Never.”
Naruto started to struggle as he was being pulled up. “I don’t want this! I’m doing this for Sasuke! I’m doing this for Tsunade-baachan! I’m doing this for the villagers!” He screamed inside his head at least that’s what he thought he did, but he was actually screaming this into the darkening night.
Sasuke had pulled the blonde up and into his arms. He stared wide eyed at what he had just heard. Tsunade stood at the door, golden eyes glistening with unshed tears, “naruto,” she whispered. She hadn’t known how bad it was for him. She only knew what sarutobi told her and from the time Naruto would come to her afterwards. But he never told her how deeply this effected him. She stepped forward but saw Sasuke shake his head.
Nodding the Hokage turned and left the two alone. Once the door closed her tears slid down her cheeks as she walked down the stairs. “Damn it,” she hissed as she disappeared through the red door.
Sasuke held the blonde tightly. He was scared for him. Sasuke has never seen Naruto like this. He considered the blond the strongest ninja in the village but yet…
Naruto squeezed his eyes shut as he gripped the raven’s shirt tightly. He was afraid this was a bad dream and that if he opened his eyes he would be alone. “Don’t leave me,” he whispered.
A single tear slipped from the dark man’s eye as he rocked the blonde, “I’ll never leave you.”
