Thank you to everyone that reviewed. It really means a lot to me to know that people like this. I just wish that everyone that read my fics would review. I always do. :D I posted this and then checked it but I'm not finding anything... I don't get it....
Ok, here's the next chapter. I might edit it some later and it's just a little on the short side.

Chapter 2 - Friends

Ah, yes, once again the porcelain goddess called.
Naruto stayed inside and sulked till he found himself craving apples and peanut butter somewhere around noon, just not the skin. He wondered if the cravings should start this early. He took a peeler and skinned the apples then cored them and cut them so they were all circles. He hummed in happiness as he ate. He then made good on the promise to himself and went to see his friends.
As Neji would say, it was fate. He ran into everyone.
He found out that Lee had finally gotten Sakura to go out with him.
“Congratulations, fuzzy brows.” Naruto said. “I know that you’ll be good for her. I always thought the two of you were a cute couple.”
“I thank you, my friend.” Lee said, fist clinched in victory. “I knew one day my persistence would prevail. My youth will always prevail.”
Lee and Sakura had a monstrous amount of strength and Naruto knew she found it hard to spar with him when she really needed to. He may heal fast but he would brake if she hit him too hard. She needed someone that would be able to handle her in and out of bed. Naruto had seen Sakura brake bones with a finger. He shuddered inside at the though of what she could do to some poor unsuspecting man.
Naruto knew that his pink haired friend was lonely. There was a part of Naruto that knew Sakura was still pining over Sasuke. A part of Sakura was still in love with Sasuke and Naruto hated her for it. He hoped she was not dating Lee because she thought he was the only person that “loved” her. He hoped that she did not agree to go out with Lee because of that. She deserved to be happy. Naruto hoped that she would be able to be happy with Lee. He would have to track her down today as well. He hated going to the hospital.
“I must go now.” Lee said. “I must run 200 laps on the village walls in victory.”
Naruto waved goodbye.
He then found out that Shikamaru was loosing to Temari at Go and laughed when she told him it was not the first time. He laughed at the look on Shikamaru’s face when he pointed out the only move that could possibly save the shadow master. Temari frowned at him. He laughed.
The two are a good match, he thought. The two fit together like the black and white pieces of go they so loved to play. They were like enough that they could get along but different enough that they would never get bored with each other. Naruto just was not sure if they knew or if maybe they were both holding out for the other to do something about it.
So Naruto smiled and testing a hunch he asked Shikamaru about a girl he had been talking to at the Hokage’s building. In an instant there was a murderous chakra coming from the blond woman. Naruto tried not to flinch. Shikamaru gave him a look of disbelief and slight betrayal and a great deal of panic. Naruto left with a good luck wave to Shikamaru and a go for it to Temari. He heard the go board crash into something as someone, Shikamaru assuming, got clobbered.
A little while later, Naruto found out that Kankuro was dating Shino the hard way. He walked along the rooftops and found the two together in the open. Meaning he found Shino with his legs wrapped around Kankuro’s hips as they danced an age-old tango. He left the rooftop quickly but he did not think they would have cared if he had stayed and watched. Strange, he thought, I didn’t think that Shino would be so loud.
The ice cream shop had Hinata and Kiba sitting across from each other. They were making eyes at each other. Kiba had a goofy look on his face and Hinata had a small blush to go with her smile. As he passed he heard them talk.
“I didn’t think you would agree.” Kiba said, a hand scratching his head. His tone had joy, wonder, and just a little fear in it.
Hinata smiled. “I really wanted to.” She said. Naruto heard the small defiance in her voice, as well as the happiness.
Naruto passed them by. He did not want to ruin their moment. Naruto wondered how long the dog-nin had been pining over the Hyuuga heir but inside he was glad that Hinata had found someone that loved her back. Naruto never wanted to be the one to brake her heart, but he knew he would never be able to lover her the way he loved Sasuke. He moved on. He promised himself, he would see them again tomorrow. When they were not making disgusting eyes at each other.
He found Neji at the edge of one of the villages ponds. The Hyuuga was staring at the fish. The blue pond and orange fish mirrored his kimono. But Naruto noticed his eyes did not follow any movement and were somewhat glazed over. It seemed Neji was staring at nothing. Naruto walked up beside him and stared into the pond with him. He lasted all of 5 seconds.
“You do know that you do have to blink, right?” He asked the silent man, never taking his eyes off of a koi fish.
Neji jerked beside him and stared at him and Naruto chuckled. He was somewhat surprised at how he had startled his friend. It was rare that Neji did not see someone coming. He should have at least felt Naruto’s chakra. It was a testament to how deep in thought the Hyuuga was.
“Thinking about Gaara?” Naruto asked, lifting his head and meeting the pale eyes.
Neji nodded and turned his gaze back to the pond. “Do you realize that there are a grand total two people that know about the two of us?” He asked. “You and Hinata. I do not believe that even his siblings know. I think I am the only Nin that the Hokage sends to Suna now.”
“You go because Gaara won’t see anyone else.” Naruto laughed. “I thought you knew that.”
Neji looked at Naruto sharply and Naruto laughed at the startled look on his face.
Naruto ran a hand through his hair. “You really didn’t know?”
Neji shook his head, the bewildered look still on his face.
Naruto sighed. “Gaara has liked you for a while. He said that the request had nothing to do with you being a Hyuuga. And don’t tell your uncle that, by the way. I think your uncle sees it a different way. Gaara told me that he thought this was the only thing he could think of to get you to see him. He didn’t think you would come unless you where told to.” Naruto stuffed his hands in his pockets and went back to watching the fish. “He’s insecure like that.”
“I did not know.” Neji said. “I always figured that I was requested because he wanted…”
Neji stopped and Naruto looked up. He caught the white eyes for a moment.
“Take it for what it is.’ Naruto said. “Gaara is in love with you. He loves you. End of story. If you really want it spelled out then you should talk to him.” The blond shrugged. “I think I would be happy with someone loving me for me, not because I am a name. You are Neji to him, not Hyuuga Neji. That’s what Gaara sees.”
Neji was the one to sigh this time and Naruto thought that maybe Neji did not believe him.
“Gaara will be here in two days.” Neji said. “Something about a Kage meeting but he seems to be the only one coming.”
Naruto laughed. “So, will I see you while he’s here or will you be…” Naruto smirked and wiggled his eyebrows. “Otherwise occupied?”
Neji’s eyes widened and a blush graced his cheeks and nose. He started to sputter out a denial but Naruto waved him off. “I know that if he’s coming here, he’s not here to do business. I mean, both his siblings are here already. I think it might be a vacation.”
Naruto noticed the slight hesitance in his friend’s words. “Weren’t you supposed to go to Suna last week?” He asked before it hit him. “Oh, so it’s Gaara coming to get you.”
Neji flushed with guilt. “Yes, I was supposed to go. But… I could not…” He trailed off and Naruto finished the thought.
“You couldn’t stop thinking about it.”
Neji nodded. “I miss him. I miss out time together.” He whispered, there was despair in his voice that Naruto could almost feel in the air around him. “I’ve never felt like this and it scares me.
Naruto walked away. “You should just accept it for what it is, Neji.” He said over his shoulder. “Our lives are so short. You never know when it will be gone.”
A short time later, Naruto opened the door to the Hokage’s office and got an eye full of Jiraiya and Tsunade and it scared him for life. He did not think that he would ever look at his teacher the same way again. He also made a mental note to have the desk burned when he became Hokage. They were 60, what were they doing having sex anyway?
That brought him to one simple question: Why was he the only one not getting laid? The fox laughed and answered that the Uchiha was not there and that when Sasuke did get back Naruto would not be getting out of bed anytime soon. Naruto shuddered at the thought and felt his face heat. He remembered how Sasuke had almost ripped his clothes off to get at his skin. He remembered hot hands touching him and a wet mouth mapping his body.
Naruto hurried home before the evidence of his distraction was for all to see.
