Almost Caught
“Naruto! Tsunade-sama wants you to go to her now,” Shikamaru said, as he saw Naruto in Ichiraku, Naruto looked at him and nodded.
“You called, Tsunade-sama?” Naruto said, as he walked into the Hokage’s office, Tsunade was taken aback by his formal tone, he has never called her Tsunade-sama, she looked at Naruto’s emotionless face, normally he was lively and filled with mischief, but now, he was a bit like Sai before they became friends, Tsunade knew there was something terribly wrong.
“Naruto?”
“Yes Tsunade-sama?”
“Is there something wrong?”
“No Tsunade-sama, nothing.”
“Okay then, well I wanted to ask you if you’ve seen Sakura anywhere?”
Naruto clenched his fists tight until drops of blood were visible. “No Tsunade-sama, I haven’t seen her anywhere….is that all?” he answered sharply,
“Um…no well, I just wanted to tell you that……Sasuke coming back.”
Naruto stared at Tsunade, his clenched fists relaxed, but his tone did not change.
“When will he be here?” Naruto said suddenly,
“Well, reliable sources say that he said he will be here in 4 weeks, so I want you to tell Sakura, if you see her.” Tsunade said, Naruto hesitated for a moment but then nodded and was about to leave when Yamato burst into the room.
“Tsunade-sama!” Yamato said, “Two guards were found unconscious at the gates of Konoha, when they awoke in the hospital, they said Haruno Sakura had attacked them for not allowing her to leave Konoha,” Naruto clenched his fists again, but this time he cut right into his skin and even Tsunade could see the blood dropping onto the floor,
“What?! Sakura….left Konoha?” Tsunade exclaimed, Naruto could not speak, he was too shocked.
“Sakura left Konoha? But why? Did she leave Konoha….because of me?” Naruto thought, he thought back to what he said to Sakura,
“No………”
“Naruto did you say something?” Tsunade asked, ignoring her question he ran out the room and head for the gates of Konoha.
Meanwhile Sakura was walking through the forest and taking advantage of her freedom, she was not exactly happy but she wasn’t sad either, it was her decision that no one had forced upon her, but where will she go now? Maybe somewhere far away, like the Grass Village, she knew shinobis from Konoha will come to find her, its not like she can hide her location like the Akatsuki…….wait, that’s it! The Akatsuki! Maybe if they let her join the Akatsuki since they let missing nin join, she wouldn’t be found so easily, and she wouldn’t have to worry about meeting Sasuke since the chance of Sasuke finally killing Itachi was low.
“So it’s settled, I’ll join Akatsuki,” she said to herself, unfortunately for her, a pair of eyes were watching her closely.
“Akatsuki…..hn.”
When Naruto arrived to the gates, Shikamaru, Ino and Chouji were now replacing the guards for the time being.
“Naruto, what are you doing here?” Shikamaru asked, before Naruto could answer, Kakashi appeared.
“Naruto, we sent a letter to the Fire Lord to look out for Sakura and we just got a reply,” Kakashi said,
“Really? What did he say?” Naruto asked eagerly,
“He said some of his guards remember seeing a pink-haired kunoichi wandering around the Sound Village_” Before Kakashi could finish, Naruto ran passed Shikamaru and the others and head for the Sound Village.
“I better go with him,” Kakashi said, as he followed Naruto to go find their beloved Sakura.
“Sakura…….I’m sorry.” Naruto whispered.
“Hmm……..excuse me, how much is this?” Sakura asked the man behind the stall.
“That, young lady, is 200 yen, but for you, 150.” He answered, Sakura paid for the herbs that could be used for different antidotes for poisons.
Then she heard a nearby voice that stopped her heart.
“Excuse me, but have you a pink-haired girl, about just over 5 feet high, with a Konoha forehead protector?”
She spun around and saw Kakashi and Naruto a few metres away from her, she quickly put her hood on that covered her hair, but she couldn’t take any chances, she kept walking, hoping she could get out of the town without anyone noticing she was the missing nin they were looking for, she was near the edge of the town when…..
“Excuse me!!!”
Her heart dropped to her stomach, she took a deep breath and turned around, carefully hiding even a single strand of hair, she saw Kakashi walking up to her, as he got closer, she put her head down slightly so he couldn’t see her emerald green eyes.
“You dropped this,” Kakashi said, handing her the bag containing all her herbs that she bought, she grabbed the bag and replied in a rough voice completely abnormal to her own.
“Thank you, young man,” and with that she turned and walked off.
Kakashi walked back to Naruto who was talking to the man who sold herbs,
“Have you seen a pink-haired girl, about 5 feet high, wearing a Konoha forehead protector?” To their surprise the man nodded, Naruto asked eagerly, “When did you see her?”
“Well she was here about a 3 minutes ago to buy some herbs, then something scared her, so she put on her hood and walked away,” the man answered, Kakashi widen his eyes in realization, the girl who thanked him for picking up the herbs was Sakura!
“Shit!” he thought, he grabbed Naruto and ran to the direction Sakura had gone.
After about a mile away from the village, Sakura knew that Kakashi would soon realise that she was Sakura, so she decided to change course and head for the Stone Village.
“I'm sorry Naruto, but I must go,” Sakura said, not aware of the eyes still following her.
When she got far enough she felt a certain chakra right behind her, she turned her head to see who was there but before she had a glance she was knocked out and carried to the Stone Village.
