I was looking through my old fic folders, and I found three more things. They're bits from what I was thinking about doing with The Lucky Ones. This one is how I feel like it should have ended, really, without getting Genma involved. ^__^
Okay
Kakashi gasped, his eyelids flying open. He felt his heart thundering in his chest, felt the wetness on his pillow where his tears had been leaking for the past... who knew how many minutes.
A nightmare. It's been a long time since I had that one...
He sat up, breathing harshly, rubbing his eyes with the heels of his hands.
"Kakashi?" came the sleepy voice from beside him. Sheets rustled as his lover moved on the bed beside him. Kakashi turned his head to see the welcome sight of Sasuke's face, lit dimly by the thin light coming in through the slats of the blinds over the windows, his hair a pitch-black mess around his face, spreading in wild tendrils over his pillow.
"Are you okay?" Sasuke asked, concerned at the look in the older man's eyes.
"I'm okay now," Kakashi whispered, laying back down to pull Sasuke into his arms. "I missed you so much."
"Me, too," Sasuke said softly, running his fingers through the silver hair at his lover's temple. "But I'm back now. I'm not going anywhere."
Kakashi tightened his arms around the pale teen, breathing in the warmth at the juncture of his slim neck and shoulder, planting a kiss on the underside of his jaw.
"I'm not going anywhere, Kakashi," Sasuke whispered against his lover's forehead. Kakashi sighed and relaxed as the last shreds of the nightmare left him, and let himself be soothed back to sleep by the feel of slim fingers running through his hair.
