"My name is Iruka-sensei and I'm going to be one of your teachers here at the academy." greeted Iruka to his new students.

"Good morning sensei!" greeted the students back. Today was the 1st day of school and Iruka was happy at his new bunch of students that he was eager to teach. To be honest he was getting a little bored with having to spend most of his summer break working at the Hokage's office. Being a teacher was something he always loved, even though most of the time he spent it yelling at his students.

"Today were going to spend the 1st part of class to know each other since your going to spend most of the time with them." This was a good exercise for his students to come out of there shell and hopefully make new friends. A few got up from there chairs and walked around the room, others just sat there and waited for someone to come to them. This was also a good exercise for him to tell which one of his students were more advanced than others and which ones were going to have a tough time. But it didn't really matter to him, he always made the same promise each year with his students, which was to make sure they graduated. After they finished there little greetings they spent the rest of the glass learning about chakra. Around 10:30 it was time for the chunin to attend to his other class with his second year students. Him and his students spent most of there time outside practicing there kunai techniques. Then around noon it was recess for his 1st year students and it was his job to watch them.

"Sensei! Sensei! Sensei!" Teared a young girl as she walked up to Iruka.

"Whats the matter Sayako?" He asked as he looked down at the young girl and notice a scratch on her knee.

"Riku pushed me!" Wailed the young girl. Not wanting his student to cry again, the chunin removed a 1st aid kit from one of his pouches. He cleaned her wound, and sealed it with a band aid.

"There that should do it Sayako. Does it still hurt?"

"A-a little." Blushed the young girl.

"The pain should go away in a little while, you'll be ok. You go back to playing while I talk to Riku." The young girl reached up and hugged her sensei and ran back to a group of friends she was playing with earlier. Iruka walked up to his student and saw that he was terrorizing a bunch of girls. Seeing that his sensei had an angry look on his face, the young boy tried to run away but was too late as he was grabbed from the arm. Iruka didn't like to yell at his 1st years but was forced to do it on a few occasions. After scolding the young boy, the chunin made sure his student apologized to the girl he pushed.

"Aw your such a good teacher sensei." Joked Kotetsu as he joined the chunin on recess duty.

"I know. Anyway your late."

"Oh yeah sorry about that. I was with Izumo." Iruka started to blush as he remembered when he walked in on the two when Kotetsu mentioned his lovers name.

"Thinking about Kakashi?" Teased the spiky haired ninja as he noticed how red the chunin's face had gotten.

"Shut up."

"I'm just saying that you two sure have been hanging around each other lately." It was true that lately the two ninja have been hanging around more often. Iruka would go to Ichiraku's after he was done with work and would find Kakashi already there. They would eat together and talk afterwards, just a simple night and nothing more. Although Iruka couldn't help but admit that he did enjoy the jounin's company. But with school starting and the jounin going out on mission's, they haven't really had the time to see that much of each other.

After recess was over, it was back to glass with his 1st year students. They continued there lesson over chakra until it was time for them to go home for the day. As much as he wanted to go home like his students, Lady Tsundae needed him at her office after he was done at the academy.

"LADY TSUNADE! Where are you?" He heard someone yell as he walked up to the hokage's office.

"Something the matter Shizune?" Asked Iruka as he saw a very angry Shizune walk out of an empty office.

"Its Lady Tsunade. I left her alone for a little while and when I came to retrieve some papers, she was gone."

"Really? That's funny because she told me that she needed me after class was over."

"Yeah she needed you to take this to the detention facility." She said as she handed the chunin a scroll. "We need this back as soon as you can return it."

"Yes Ma'am."

'A scroll for the detention facility?' He hardly ever visited that place. What ever the hokage trusted him with must have been important. Sure he was asked to deliver important documents around the village before, but to prison? This was a 1st to him. Since it was an important matter he had to attend, the chunin decided to run and made it there in a matter of minutes.

"Hold it right there!" One of guards stopped the chunin before he could proceed any father. "State your name and reason for being here!"

"My names is Iruka Umino, and I have an important scroll to deliver from the hokage to the head leader of this facility."

"You may enter." The guards unlocked the front gate and let the chunin enter. "If you'll please follow me, I'll take you to the head master." The guard lead Iruka down a dark corridor and up a few stairs.

'There sure a lot more guards here.' After the recent escape by Mizuki and his two goons, Lady Tsunade doubled security and stationed more ninja on watch out duty, to prevent another escape from happening again. Arriving to there destination, Iruka handed the scroll to the man that needed to sign the scroll and proceed to walk out and return to the Hokage's office.

"Hello Iruka." Greeted one of the guards as they recognized the chunin.

"Hello Izumo. On guard duty tonight?"

"Yeah. Oh I've been meaning to apologize about the time you walked in on me and Kotetsu."

"I-its ok. I should have knocked in the 1st place." Luckily for him the place was already dark enough to where they wouldn't notice his blush.

"Yeah but I should have tried to keep my voice down. I told him that someone was going to walk in on us but he didn't want to listen to me."

"Yeah I know what you mean." Joked the chunin. The two chatted for a little while until it was time for him to leave. Iruka was about to leave when he recognized a familiar face in a cell.

"Well well if it isn't Iruka." Taunted Mizuki as the chunin walked up towards his cell.

"I see your all better. I must admit that I was a little worried about you when your body went through that side affect from the potion."

"Huh, what do you care? I'm here because of you and that nine tailed brat."

"True but if it weren't for the medical team you probably would have died on that day."

"Lucky me. I would have rather died on that day then living and not having the ability to perform any more jutsu's."

"You shouldn't say things like that!" Iruka said in an angry tone. Before Mizuki had gotten into trouble, the two of them were once best friends. They've even known each other since they were kids. Even after all they had been through, the chunin was hoping that they were still friends, but I guess that doesn't happen when you have to stop your friend. Having his business finished, the chunin returned to the Hokage's office to find a heated argument going on.

'I should really learn how to knock, shouldn't I?' Luckily for him the Hokage noticed him and brought her voice down to an inside voice.

"Did something happen over there?" She asked as she noticed a sad face on the chunin.

"I saw Mizuki."

"I see. From what the medical team told me, they said that he made a full recovery and is showing less resistance since he's no longer a threat."

"Yeah. Is that all you needed from me?" Lady Tsunade dismissed him and returned to her heated argument with Shizune about where she had disappeared to. He wasn't in any real hurry to be anywhere. He walked by Ichiraku's and saw that on one was there.

'That's right, Kakashi-sensei is out on another mission. I wonder when he'll be back?' He wasn't really hungry so the only place for him to go was home. For once he returned home to find that there wasn't a stack of papers waiting for him. There was...nothing for him in his empty apartment. I guess you can say he was sad, over what? He wasn't really sure. The ninja decided to call it a day since he had to wake up early for class tomorrow.

"Aww what's with the sad face?" Asked Kotetsu as he stared at Iruka, who was grading papers.

"I'm not sad." He answered without taking his eyes off his work.

"Leave him alone Kotetsu."

"I'm just playing around with him Izumo."

"There's obiviously something on Iruka's mind and if he doesn't want to talk about it he doesn't have to." The Hokage had requested the 3 ninja's help and asked them to help her sort out a few papers for her. They worked at a slow and steady pace, they didn't do much talking, which left the room quiet for them. Occasionally a yelp would come out of Izumo as Kotetsu would place a hand on his lovers thigh, but other than that it was pretty much quiet for the rest of the day.

"So how are you and Kakashi doing?" Kotetsu asked the chunin.

"How many times do I have to tell you we're not a couple!" He shouted at the spiky haired ninja. "Besides how should I know how he's doing, he's out on a mission."

"But I can't help it! You guys make such a good couple!"

"I can't help but agree with Kotetsu on this one." Joined Izumo.

"For the last time, there's nothing going on between us. We're just friends."

"You seem to forget the fact that most relationships start out as "just friends"." As much as Iruka hated to admit it that the two ninja were right, but it was exactly how they started out. It was pretty obvious on how they felt about each other and sooner or later they got together. But the fact that they still teased him about Kakashi was becoming very annoying and was starting to make him angry. Both of the ninja's knew about the chunin's temper, but that didn't stop them from there pestering questions.

"If you keep giving me that cute little angry face of yours, I'm gonna have to pounce on you." Said Izumo.

"Cute?" Iruka said in a bitter tone.

"Yo!" Greeted Kakashi as he poofed into there office.

"Speak of the devil. Let ask him. Right Iruka has a cute face when he gets angry?" Asked Kotetsu as he stared at the masked ninja. Kakashi stared at the now blushing chunin and gave the couple a smile.

"Your right he is cute." Embarrassed by the jounin's words, Iruka's face continued to turn 5 shades of red as he tried to ignore the laughter that was coming from Izumo and Kotetsu.

"I forgot why I came here. Oh yeah, the Hokage wants to see you two." Said Kakashi as he pointed to the couple. With that said, they left to blushing chunin and the masked jonin alone. Too embarrassed to look at Kakashi, Iruka stared at the papers in front of him and pretended that he was working. It worked for a little while until the mood started to turn awkward as they stayed in that quiet room. Feeling Kakashi's gaze on him, Iruka looked up at the jounin and tried to break the ice.

"How was your mission?"

"Ok I guess." He answered.

"T-that's good." He fidgeted as the jounin continued to give him that intense look.

"So when do you get out of here?"

"Around 8. Why?" Asked the chunin.

"Well I just got back and I haven't eaten yet, so why not go get some ramen with me?"

"Sure." Smiled Iruka.

"Good then I'll wait for you." Pulling up a chair, the jonin placed his feet up on the desk and relaxed in his chair as he waited for him.
