Dreams and Screams

Chapter 2 - Dreams and Screams

She cowered against the rough wall behind her as he entered her cell. The stone was cold and damp, but at the moment, she didn't even notice. His eyes were far colder. How had she ever thought the sharingan was desirable? She shuddered.

He seemed not to notice her discomfort, or not to care, as he approached her with cat-like stalking. She shut her eyes, hoping to block him out, but only succeeded in robbing herself of the chance to brace herself when he reached out and pulled her to her geet by her hair. Still, she kept them shut, warding of another attack like the one she had endured before slumping into unconsciousness and awakening here in the dark.

When he found that she was ignoring him, he smiled and fingered the slanted zipper from her tunic's throat closure to its side. Then he gripped the fabric and pulled. It ripped op, exposing her bra, and she tried to cover herself. Backhanding her, he sent her to the floor and she kicked as he approached again. as she did, he grabbed her foot and twisted, spraining her ankle, then unlatched her sandal and threw it to the side, followed shortly by it's mate.

Moaning softly with pain, she saw him pull a pair of kunai and wished for death, hoping it would be quick. But he merely slashed up the side of her thighs, slicing her forest green shorts and the skin beneath as well. She felt the fabric fall away while her blood trickled down her legs and she finally opened her eyes to stare at her attacker, whose gaze was focused on the streams of scarlet on her white skin.

"Blood-red and milky-white... a perfect combination, don't you think?" he asked, his gaze moving up her legs to the dark reddish curls only just starting to cover her blossoming womanhood.

She suddenly realized what was in store for her and screamed... and screamed... and screamed...

Sakura sat up, soaked in sweat and clutching the covers of an unfamiliar bed, her throat raw. It was just a dream. Only a dream. It hadn't happened.

Then she saw where she was - the hospital in Konoha - and the gi and shorts thrown over a chair near the bed and she almost screamed again.

It hadn't been a dream. Itachi-sama had taken her, used her, and left her. The tears in her eyes were too numerous to hold back and she let them fall onto her hospital smock unchecked. After what she and Itachi-sama had done, she couldn't even stand to look at herself or care about what happened to her. And she didn't blame anyone else who didn't, either. Itachi-sama had left her and her life might as well be over.

She awoke the next morning to see a fuzzy yellow and orange blob leaning over her. She blinked the sleep from her eyes, revealing her teammate, Naruto. He looked worried, but when he saw recognition in her face, he grinned like the idiot she knew him to be and turned.

"Sasuke! She's awake!" he nearly sand, and she froze, her blood turning to ice in her veins as she saw Sasuke - no, Itachi-sama. There were bruises around her beloved Itachi-sama's throat; she whimpered. He was always far more brutal when he'd been injured, and she hurt already. But she still ached to take that pain away from him, even if it meant letting him inflict it upon her own body, and reached out her hand towards him.

The her vision cleared, and she saw that it was not Itachi-sama at all, but Sasuke. She recoiled, remembering the even of the previous evening and how he had seen her in her shame.

"See? See? She's fine, Sasuke. No need to worry." Naruto reached to elbow her arm and she flinched away involuntarily. He didn't seem to take it amiss, though. "Sorry, I forgot about those," he said, glancing at the bandages covering the visible portion of her appendages.

She focused on them herself with a glare of annoyance. They itched, she now noticed, and were a little too tight. With her attention on her forearms, she failed to notice Sasuke coming nearer until he put a hand on her shoulder. "Ne..."

"Don't touch me!" she shrieked, knocking him back. "Get away!"

Instantly, she felt ashamed at what she had done, and even more so when she saw the look of sadness on her former crush's face as he stiffened, then ran from the room. Naruto looked back and forth between the two of them, seeming torn, then raced out after the dark-haired boy. "Sasuke! Wait!"

She winced as Naruto slammed the door behind him, but knew that she was better off alone, because everyone else would be better off without her.

Wow, another chapter already. Why, you might ask? I was stunned to log on tonight and see almost 200 hits in less than 24 hours and felt that, if there were that many people who wanted to read my story, they should get a little more than just that first, teasing chapter. Please review and let me know what you think. And thanks to m.z for my first review on this story. Hope you continue to enjoy!
Sorry that the chapters are so short. There are longer ones coming, but these first few needed to be separate. The story seems to flow better that way.
Well, it's early and I have work soon. Wish me luck at the office!
