During those nine months when Sakura was pregnant with their first child Sasuke suddenly became rather busy. A couple of the houses in the Uchiha compound were already renovated but now he made sure that more were fixed.
Naruto found him walking down the street with his black hair full of ashes one day. He didn’t even laugh; because Sasuke somehow looked so… relieved.
Not too long after that Naruto noticed that Sasuke spent a lot of time writing on a scroll. He seemed to put a lot of effort into it; making sure everything was right. In the end he sealed the scroll with a seal Naruto had never even seen before. Then he walked off to meet up with Kakashi.
Kakashi seemed rather surprised when Sasuke handed over a scroll; and a well-sealed scroll at that. He took it curiously.
“Put it away.” Sasuke said simply. “I don’t want any future sharingan users to know this; but sadly I can’t let the information be completely destroyed either.”
Kakashi eyed the scroll with new interest and Sasuke made an impatient sound.
“I burned the original information.”
“…I see. Well thanks then, Sasuke. I’ll make sure that this scroll is safe.”
Sasuke relaxed a little at the older mans seriousness.
“Thank you.” He bowed slightly and turned to leave.
“Sasuke. Why did you burn the originals? I thought they were safely hidden.”
Sasuke stopped for a moment to answer.
“You can never be careful enough. Shouldn’t you know that? You’re the next hokage after all.”
When he left Kakashi couldn’t help but smile a little.
