Chapter 1 – Genin Exam
Than he experienced what it felt to move through space and time, to die and be reborn over and over again as Kyuubi's power did as the demon had promised.
An eternity seemed to pass, and than he opened his eyes...
/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
Breathing in deeply Naruto immediately scanned the area with his chakra, searching for an hostile signatures and making sure he was safe. Once he documented all the signatures around him, he coated the inside of the room he was in with chakra. With that done he finally looked around for where he was, he immediately recognized his old apartment.
“I haven't seen this place in years,” muttered Naruto quietly.
He remembered perfectly the last time he had been in his apartment, he knew in reality it had only been days ago, but to him it seemed like years, centuries even. Smiling he walked over to the calendar, he blinked at seeing the date and than smirked widely. Today was the morning of the Genin Exam, where Kakashi tested them on teamwork. He remembered it well, and this time he promised to do better.
Heading to his closet he pulled it open, and immediately swore violently. His entire closet was full of those horrible orange jumpsuits, he couldn't believe he had worn these things. With his new memories and knowledge, and the fact his mask had been shattered forever, he wouldn't be able to put one of those on. But if he remembered right, he should have something buried in the closet that Jiji had given him.
Sure enough near the back of the closet was an outfit Jiji had bought him on his tenth birthday, Jiji had bought it for him when he asked if it was okay not to be a ninja. It was a civilian outfit, and the only one he had. Naruto knew it would be perfect, because he no longer really considered himself a ninja. Quickly getting dressed Naruto looked at himself in the mirror, and grinned, it was indeed perfect.
His outfit started with a skintight white shirt, that accented his thin layer of muscles perfectly. This was followed by a pair of baggy black jeans, and a light brown leather belt to hold them tightly in place. His shoes weren't ninja sandals, in fact they were a pair of white street shoes that a foreign merchant had brought into the village on his yearly trip. His outfit was completed with a long black trenchcloak, that stayed open at the front and allowed greatly mobility of movement.
For his supplies he stayed very basic, not bothering to use kunai, shuriken, explosive notes or anything else anymore. His skills were more suited to other things, like Taijutsu and Kenjutsu. He even had styles for both of them from Kyuubi's time as a Fallen Angel, and he thought they were both perfect for him.
So without needing weapons, he instead kept a small storage pouch. It was hooked to the back left part of his belt, and contained only sealing scrolls, food pills and soldier pills in case he needed them. Breathing in deeply Naruto pulled his hair back and tied it in a tight ponytail, his transformation had altered him more than he thought it would. His eyes now contained slit pupils, and his hair was slightly more white, and reached down to his shoulders in a spiky ponytail. Not only that, but he was faster, stronger, healed even faster than before, could see miles away and much more.
With all his knowledge though Naruto was unsure of what he had become, he still had demonic chakra flowing through him freely, but now there was a third source, a powerful pure chakra that he knew was divine because of Kyuubi's memories. Naruto figured he must be a fallen angel, or something close to it at least because of what he could do. He could still draw out the fox shroud, but he now also had wings.
He could feel them within him, even though he had yet to try and use them. He had only been awake for a few hours after all, yet it felt like he had been awake for months. Breathing in deeply Naruto turned and in a blur of speed vanished, he wanted to get to the training ground early and practice with his new body for a bit...
/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
“Hey guys good morning,” said Kakashi cheerfully as he walked towards them.
“YOUR LATE!” screeched Sakura angrily.
Kakashi completely ignored Sakura's voice, far too used to people yelling at him for his habit of being late. Stopping in front of Sakura and Sasuke and blinked, Naruto wasn't with them, and he couldn't sense him anywhere nearby. Frowning Kakashi wondered where Naruto could be, it didn't seem like him to be late like this. Everything the Hokage had told him made him think Naruto would be here, bouncing on his feet screaming about how ready he was.
“Do either of you know where Naruto is?” questioned Kakashi
“The Dobe is even later than you, obviously he isn't a very dedicated ninja,” answered Sasuke with a sneer as he stuck his nose arrogantly into the air.
“YAH NARUTO-BAKA IS SUCH A LOSER! SASUKE-KUN IS THE ONLY ONE WE NEED ON THIS TEAM ANYWAYS!” screeched Sakura.
Kakashi's eye twitched and he tried not to glare at the two Genin in front of him, both of them weren't showing very much team spirit. He smiled slightly under his mask, neither of them would pass at this rate, and that meant he didn't need to train a team again. Suddenly he frowned and swore mentally, or he wouldn't have to except for the Council ordering him to pass them no matter what. Hopefully he could get the idea of teamwork across so they could pass correctly, or who knew what would happen.
“I suppose we'll need to go pick up Naruto than,” said Kakashi cheerfully.
“There is no need for that Hatake-sensei,” echoed Naruto's voice from the right.
Kakashi turned in time to see Naruto step out from between a few trees, his eyebrow immediately raised though at the sight of the boy. He had thought Naruto wouldn't surprise him for a while, but from what he could see Naruto had changed overnight. Gone was the bright orange jumpsuit, and the hyperactive screaming from before. Instead Naruto stood calmly, in clothing only a Civilian would wear, with a stance that showed he was still ready for everything.
“NARUTO-BAKA! YOUR LATE!” screeched Sakura as she swung her fist to punch her idiotic teammate.
Kakashi watched to see what would happen, normally Naruto would just let Sakura hit him. To his surprise though, Naruto raised his hand and effortlessly caught Sakura's fist in it. Than he let go, and walked past her as if nothing had happened at all. Sakura furious sent another fist at his unprotected head, only for him to tilt his head and cause her to stumble and fall onto her face.
“Haruno, I would appreciate it if you didn't do that again,” said Naruto in a quiet voice without even looking at her.
Sakura growled angrily and charged at him screaming, “I'LL GET YOU!”
Naruto turned towards her, raised and eyebrow and dodge her first punch, than her second. This was followed by him ducking a kick, titling away from a punch, turning to dodge a jab, and multiple other small movements to dodge every attack Sakura threw at him. After a few minutes of this, Naruto caught Sakura's hand, twisted her into a choke-hold and than let her go.
“Haruno, I asked you politely to stop,” said Naruto quietly before he whispered seriously, “Don't make me ask again.”
Kakashi decided this was the time to defuse the situation and quickly called attention to himself, when everyone was looking at him he began talking. Informing them of the test, the rules and how they needed to pass. He made sure to keep his entire posture and voice neutral during his explanation, it helped to pass his lie off as the truth.
“Begin!” exclaimed Kakashi
Sakura and Sasuke immediately jumped backwards into the forest, but Naruto remained standing where he was. Kakashi raised an eyebrow and looked at him oddly, before Naruto nodded at him, turned and walked over to the edge of the lake where he sat down. Blinking he walked over to Naruto, making sure to be careful in-case it was a trap of some sort.
“You do know this is a test right?” questioned Kakashi
“I'm aware,” said Naruto as he looked up at Kakashi, “I also know the true purpose of the test.”
“You think so hey?” questioned Kakashi cheerfully.
Naruto nodded and than shouted out, “Haruno, Uchiha we need to use teamwork to defeat Hatake-sensei! His test is about teamwork, as all Genin Teams always empathize it, not to mention the bells were just to get us to work against each other!”
Kakashi's visible eye widened slightly, it seemed Naruto did indeed know the purpose of the test. He prepared himself for Sakura and Sasuke to burst from the trees and attack, no doubt that they would both do so after Naruto's brutal explanation of his test. A few seconds later and he found himself confused, why on earth weren't they attacking him.
“NARUTO-BAKA!” screeched Sakura from within the bushes, “SASUKE-KUN DOSEN”T NEED ANY HELP AND YOUR TO USELESS ANYWAYS, LIKE HELL I'LL HELP YOU!”
“Hn,” scowled Sasuke before speaking loudly his voice echoing through the training grounds, “I'm an Uchiha, I don't need anyone's help, let alone a useless dobe like you!”
Kakashi couldn't believe what he was hearing, but glancing down at Naruto he saw his student wasn't even a bit surprised. Struggling to come up with something to say, he found himself stepping back as Naruto stood to his feet. A faint blue aura of chakra began to surround his student, who was slowly turning to face him with a serious look on his face.
“Hatake-sensei,” began Naruto his voice echoing eerily, “In our world, those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their comrades...are worse than scum.”
Kakashi's found himself getting more and more shocked, Naruto was turning out to be his most surprising student ever. He knew the meaning of the test, understood his teammates easily, and even knew the phrase by which he lived his life. He found himself doubting everything the Academy had written about his students, it seemed Naruto was the Genius and not Sasuke like they had written down in the reports.
“What happen to you Naruto, your clothing is different, your eyes have become slit, your personality has changed, your calmer, your hair has become whitish?” questioned Kakashi confused.
“I'm no longer the container Hatake-sensei,” said Naruto emotionless, before he smiled brightly and continued, “He's gone, and now only I remain.”
“GONE!” screamed Kakashi horrified, “Where did!?”
“I suppose in a way I fused with him, all his powers and memories are mine,” explained Naruto with a shrug, “You don't experience those memories without changing a little.”
Kakashi didn't know what to think, was Naruto now the Kyuubi, or was Naruto being controlled, he didn't understand anything. Yet something about his student told him everything was fine, like none of these changes had truly effected the blond troublemaker. Seemingly sensing Kakashi's indecision Naruto smiled, and held up his thumb in a pose he had seen a weird Jōnin use.
“Don't worry Hatake-sensei I”M STILL ME, NARUTO UZUMAKI, THE FUTURE HOKAGE!” exclaimed Naruto cheerfully with a wide grin.
“Very well, but we'll see the Hokage after this, agreed?” questioned Kakashi seriously.
“Agreed,” answered Naruto seriously before he smirked, “Now, how about I show you a little of what I can do.”
Kakashi nodded figuring that was a good idea, settling into one of the more advanced Taijutsu stances he knew he prepared himself. Having absorbed the Kyuubi, Naruto would likely be faster and stronger than a normal Genin should be. Also, who knew what other abilities he had gained from Kyuubi's memories, or how well he could use the nine tails of demonic chakra that rested within him.
Naruto blurred and vanished from view, moving so fast that it was only Kakashi's chakra sensing skills that let him track him. Bending he pushed himself off the ground and into the air, just as Naruto reappeared, slamming his fist into the ground where he had been standing. Immediately the ground shattered and exploded upwards, dirt and dust flying through the air in a display of incredible strength. Kakashi forced himself to remain calm, it seemed Naruto's physical strength was even higher than he had thought.
Naruto vanished again and reappeared instantly in the air, Kakashi raised his guard and began to block. Naruto rained blows down on him, only most of them didn't come as he had expected. Instead Naruto's blows seemed to be a mix of fake attacks, faints, powerful attacks, and normal attacks all mixed together. It was impossible to tell them apart, and Kakashi found himself hard pressed to keep up with the powerful style.
It was unlike any style he had ever fought, obviously very focused on confusing the opponent. Not only that, but the style seemed to focus on raw power when up close, and the incredible speed when further away. Kakashi knew one thing for sure, his rival Gai would have loved to fight against this style. Kakashi suddenly felt his feet touch the ground, and he immediately replaced himself with a nearby log.
He glanced down at Naruto from the branch he had replaced himself on, and immediately swore as Naruto spun to face him. His eye went wide as Naruto flashed through a long chain of hand signs, before his chakra aura vanished and he breathed in deeply.
“Katon: Gōenkyū (Fire Release: Roaring Flame Sphere),” mentally shouted Naruto as he breathed out.
Kakashi immediately moved forward, his fist slamming into Naruto's chest at Jōnin level speed and sending him flying backwards. Relieved he had been fast enough, he let out the breath he had been holding.
“Naruto, don't use such powerful Jutsu for training,” scolded Kakashi.
“Sorry Hatake-sensei, I got caught up in the fight,” muttered Naruto blushing, “Good thing you stopped me, that would have taken out the entire training field.
Suddenly Naruto's eyes narrowed, and he spun and caught Sasuke's fist in his hand. Sasuke wrenched his fist backwards, glared at Naruto and threw another fist directly at his face. Naruto slapped Sasuke's fist aside, and shoved him back with a slightly chakra push. Sasuke stumbled backwards, before catching himself and glaring at Naruto leaking a weak amount of killing intent.
“How did you get so strong?” questioned Sasuke
“I trained,” answered Naruto with a shrug.
“Show me how you got your power,” growled Sasuke.
“No,” said Naruto shortly.
“I demand you teach me the Last Uchiha everything you know!” exclaimed Sasuke angrily, before turning and glaring at Kakashi, “I demand you order him to teach me, I'm a Uchiha dammit and I deserve power!”
Naruto and Kakashi both blinked, neither of them really believing what was going on. There was no way Sasuke was doing this right, no one so unstable would have been allowed to graduate from the academy. Frowning both of them turned away from him, only to immediately regret it as Sasuke stabbed a kunai into Naruto's side.
Naruto stumbled slightly, before he grabbed Sasuke by the wrist, and squeezed. Kakashi winced when he heard a loud crack, and than his eye widened when Naruto effortlessly spun Sasuke around and tossed him into a tree. Immediately Sakura's voice screeched and she flung herself from the bushes, Naruto stepped out of the way, and she stumbled and tripped, before falling face first onto the ground.
Kakashi was too shocked to react, as Sasuke flew forward and proceeded to attack Naruto. A kunai held tight in his good hand as he attacked, his eyes shinning with madness as he attempted to kill a fellow Leaf Ninja. Seconds later Sakura joined him, and together they attempted to kill, or at least brutally injure Naruto.
“Hatake-sensei,” said Naruto frowning, “I'm disabling them.”
Before Kakashi could say anything, Naruto had snapped into motion. A single fist to the chest later, and Sakura had collapsed coughing up blood to the ground, before she passed out from seeing her own blood. Naruto than turned to Sasuke, and Kakashi felt an incredibly dark and terrifying chakra burst to life. A blood red aura surrounded Naruto, whose eyes had turned crimson, along with his whisker marks getting darker, his canines turning into fangs, and his nails turning into claws.
“Tenmaton: Sokuon (Demonic Release: Assimilation),” intoned Naruto as he stabbed his hand forward.
Kakashi unsure of the demonic power coming off Naruto, moved forward to intercept the attack just in-case Naruto had made it too powerful. Stepping in front of Sasuke, he felt Naruto's clawed hand sink through his clothing and cut into his back. Immediately a pulse of pain flew through his entire body, before Naruto ripped his hand back and stared at Kakashi in shock.
“Kakashi, YOU IDIOT!” shouted Naruto annoyed, “You have no idea what you just did.”
“What did I do Naruto?” questioned Kakashi concerned.
Naruto twitched angrily for a few moments, before disappearing and reappearing behind Sasuke. Than with a simple chop to the neck, he sent he collapsing to the ground unconscious and unable to hear whatever Naruto was going to say.
“That technique is an incredibly powerful Demonic Jutsu, and it's used to absorb the memories, knowledge, DNA and everything else about the person it touches,” explained Naruto slowly, “Since Sasuke is just a Genin it wouldn't have done much, but your a Jōnin...”
Kakashi's eye suddenly went wide, memories, knowledge, and everything else? If Naruto had absorbed that it meant he would know everything, a Genin, even one like Naruto, wasn't ready for those kinds of things.
“Thankfully I wasn't using the full power of it,” said Naruto still serious, “But I still managed to absorb a small portion of your knowledge, and gain a complete copy of your DNA.”
“So what does that mean exactly?” questioned Kakashi still slightly unnerved.
“I've gained knowledge of lightning manipulation, this seems to come from your techniques Chidori and Raikiri, which I should have no trouble performing after a few attempts,” began Naruto with a slight haze to his eyes, “It also seems by copying your DNA I've gained a partial bloodline.”
“WHAT!” exclaimed Kakashi shocked
“Yah, I seem to have a Sharingan dormant in my left eye...” trailed off Naruto as he looked at Kakashi confused, “Why do you have a Sharingan in your left eye?”
“I...I...” stuttering Kakashi tried to figure out what to say.
“Never-mind,” said Naruto shaking his head, “I think it's time we go see the Hokage, the times up anyways.”
Sure enough the alarm Kakashi had set started ringing that exact second, and Kakashi found himself snapped out of his slight daze. Sighing he turned to pick up his two unconscious students, only to see Naruto walking towards the posts, Sakura and Sasuke being carried limply over his shoulders. Blinking he wondered what he was going to do now, what should he do about Sasuke and Sakura who were both obviously too unstable to be ninja?
Frowning he thought about everything he had learned today, it had been an eye opening experience that was for sure. But now he had even more questions than before, and less answers than he wanted. Naruto had promised to explain everything to the Hokage, but what if he was bared from the room, or what if Naruto didn't want him knowing anything.
Kakashi found himself more and more intrigued by Naruto, the deadlast of the academy and a boy everyone else underestimated. Smiling under his mask he knew what he would do, Team 7 had failed, nothing could change that. But Sasuke and Sakura were both too unstable to return to the academy, and Naruto was too talented to sit through another year of lectures. Tomorrow would have to be the start of something great, something he had never done before.
Tomorrow, he would take an apprentice...
/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
Naruto sat calmly on the Hokage Monument, his legs hanging off the Fourth Hokage's head. The meeting with the Hokage had gone better than he thought it would, Jiji having listened and accepted everything he said. He had explained everything to the best of his abilities, and even brought out his wings, and the shroud as proof of his claims.
Needless to say Hokage-jiji had been shocked, and his shock had only increased as he had continued to explain things to him. Telling him about the future, even showing him things that had happened using the Hokage's special crystal viewing orb. But of everything he told him, nothing had shocked Hiruzen more than watching Sasuke kill his adoptive grandson.
It was at that moment both Kakashi and Hiruzen decided Sasuke was too dangerous, they had agreed he needed mental help, and until cleared he wasn't to be allowed back into the Academy. Sakura's case wasn't so bad, and Hiruzen had decided she could be sent back to the academy, but would need to visit a Yamanaka weekly to help cure her single-mindedness towards Sasuke.
Flashback no Jutsu
“So what now Naruto?” questioned Hiruzen
“I suppose we keep going as normal, and along the way I try and change the horrible things that happened in my timeline,” answered Naruto with a shrug, “But what am I going to do about my squad?”
“I have a solution for that,” spoke up Kakashi, “If I may Hokage-sama?”
“Proceed Kakashi,” said Hiruzen with a nod.
“I'd like to take you as my apprentice Naruto, I want to show you how a real sensei acts, and try and teach you everything I can,” explained Kakashi before he chuckled slightly, “Also, who better to teach you how to awaken and use your Sharingan.”
Naruto was shocked, he had never expected this of all things. Kakashi had always been indifferent to him in his timeline, but this time it seemed like he actually cared. Did he dare trust Kakashi, did he dare put himself in the hands of someone who had given Sasuke the skills to kill him. Naruto pulled forth his Divine Chakra, just enough to get a sense of his sensei's true feelings and motives.
Immediately he discovered many things, Kakashi was full of many regrets, had felt guilt, pain and hate, knew what it meant to live a hard life, truly cared for Konoha, and really did want to show Naruto everything. Cutting off his Divine Chakra, Naruto smiled his first true smile since returning, and nodded his head.
“Excellent,” said Hiruzen cheerfully, “You can both begins missions next week, use this one to get a view of each others skills, and for Naruto to begin learning anything you might need.”
“I shouldn't have too many problems,” said Naruto with a shrug, “It should be a piece of cake.”
Suddenly Naruto felt a shiver go down his spine, and turning he found himself facing Kakashi. Who was currently surrounded by a dark menacing aura, a cheerful smile in his eye, covered by a look that no doubt promised pain.
“Than this should be fun,” said Kakashi as he cackled evilly...
Flashback no Jutsu...KAI!
Yet despite the terror he had felt for that moment, Naruto really couldn't wait to begin. He couldn't wait to be truly taught by Kakashi, to learn things he had missed, and to become the great ninja he had always known he would be.
“K...ib...Kiba...I...sa...said....n....n....no,” stuttered a voice.
Naruto was instantly on his feet, his senses locking in on the voice he easily recognized as Hinata. Disappearing in a blur of speed he rushed to where she was, and seconds later he was on a tree limb overlooking a scene that angered him instantly. Hinata was pinned to a tree, Kiba holding her there, his body flush against her as he kissed her roughly. If this wasn't horrible enough, Hinata was struggling and trying to break free, and Kiba was ignoring it as he kissed her.
Naruto felt his demonic chakra begin to rise, and embracing it he allowed himself to transform into his partially demonic form. Stepping off the branch he fell to the ground silently, and slowly began to stalk towards Kiba. As he did he noticed Akamaru off to the side, whimpering in pain from a wound that matched Kiba's ninja sandals.
His anger intensified and Naruto reached out towards Kiba's shoulder, intent on just pulling him off Hinata. Only to stop as he saw Kiba's hand reach down into Hinata's coat, growling he grabbed Kiba's shoulder. Than with a slight movement of his legs, he hurled Kiba over his shoulder with so much force that it sent him crashing through three trees before he slammed into one and slid to the ground unconscious.
“Hinata, are you alright?” questioned Naruto concerned.
“Na...Naru....Naruto-kun...I....I....I cou....couldn't,” stuttered Hinata before she collapsed to her knees crying heavily.
“It's okay Hinata,” whispered Naruto hugging her tightly as she cried, “Kiba won't be doing that again.”
Hinata continued to sob into Naruto's shirt, and after a few minutes she fell asleep in his arms. Lifting her gently into the air, he walked over to Akamaru and motioned for him to come. Akamaru struggled to his paws, and jumped weakly onto Naruto's shoulder, where he hung limply, still whimpering every so often in pain.
Naruto blurred and disappeared, reappearing only a second later in front of the Hyuuga Compound. Not even bothering with courtesy, he raised his leg and kicked the door sending it ripping from the wall and crashing to the ground. Immediately the guards moved to attack him, only to be stopped as Naruto's demonic killing intent sent them crashing to the ground.
Not bothered in the slightest Naruto walked straight to the main building, where he knew Hiashi would be. Every time a Hyuuga attempted to stop him, they would be immediately crushed with killing intent as Naruto continued walking without pause. Reaching the door to the main building, he was about to kick it in, when it flung open an a Jūken strike flew towards him.
Spinning Naruto dodged the blow, and brought his killing intent down on Hiashi. Immediately Hiashi found himself unable to move, and he took the moment to take in the situation. His eyes widened at the sight of his daughter sleeping in this boys arms, and he immediately tried to move forward and attack, only for the killing intent to increase and easily hold him in place.
“Hiashi-san, I'm sorry for the damage I've caused but there was no time for subtlety,” said Naruto serious, “Hinata was almost raped today by her teammate Kiba, and needs the comfort of her father.”
“Than she is weak,” spat Hiashi.
“Idiot, your mask dosen't work on me Hiashi-san, I know you love Hinata with all your heart,” said Naruto chuckling slightly, “I will remove the problem that stops you from showing your care.”
Hiashi's eyes went wide, and before he could do anything Naruto unleashed the full power of his demonic killing intent. Immediately the Hyuuga Elders collapsed from simultaneous heart attacks, before Naruto's killing intent vanished and he smiled at Hiashi.
“Problem solved,” said Naruto.
Hiashi opened his mouth to talk, only to blink at the sight of an empty room. Naruto had vanished, leaving only Hinata behind in his care. Smiling Hiashi felt hope for the first time in years, finally he could begin to help the clan as he had always wished.
That day members of the Hyuuga clan saw the true Hiashi for the first time in years, all of them rejoiced as the clan was quickly changed. The branch family combined with the main, the seal removed and than replaced by a simple one that would only protect the bloodline, that was worn by each member on their shoulder. It was a good day for members of the Hyuuga Clan, and an even better day for the Leaf Village.
Naruto appeared in a blur of speed in front of the Inuzuka Clan Compound, Akamaru resting weakly in his arms as he carried him into the compound. Immediately a feral looking woman appeared in front of him, an angry look on her face and a large dog at her side. She took one look at Naruto, spotting the injured Akamaru, noticing the absent Kiba, before she breathed in deeply.
Smelling her son all over Akamaru's wound immediately angered her, and she began to growl angrily. Naruto watched the woman snap her fingers, and blinked when three wolf-masked Ninja appeared around her. She spoke softly, with her voice carrying a sharp deadly quality to it as she ordered the ninja to hunt down Kiba and bring him to her.
The ninja vanished, and the woman turned and motioned for Naruto to follow her. Immediately he did so, and he quickly found himself lead into a large building that was obviously some kind of Animal Hospital. There Naruto was greeted by a girl who spotted Akamaru, and immediately took him and placed him gently on the table. The girl and the woman growled louder as they both cared for Akamaru, and Naruto instantly knew one thing.
Today was not going to be a good day for Kiba Inuzuka...
