Hidden Love

Two weeks later and Lee and Gaara were still not back together. Gaara sat at the lunch table and sighed as Sasuke and Naruto augured. "That's bull shit! What do you mean cats can see color?" Naruto was saying.

"As I said.. felines can see color they just see it different than humans Naruto, get your facts straight," Sasuke argued back though he refused to look at Naruto too focused on glaring at Lee who was sitting by himself and doing homework at a table near by.

"No, no, no. Sasuke stop acting like you know EVERYTHING, they don't just like dogs." Naruto shot back and sipped his soda. Gaara let his head fall onto the table with a loud thud and groaned. 'Why can't they shut up?? They have been talking about this for an hour!' He thought.

"Gaara-kun are you alright?" Sasuke asked his eyes finally looking away from Lee concerned for the redhead next to himself. Just then Riku came over and sat down next to the redhead. "Hey Gaara... I thought we were still going to be friends why don't you hang by the tree with me anymore?" He asked at the wrong time.

Gaara twitched and lifted his head. "I'm fine...and I will go to the tree now all the agruing is pissing me off!" He growled and grabbed his notebook, he got up and left the lunch room heading to his tree so he could write in peace. Naruto blinked and then frowned. "I blame you for that Sasuke." He said simply then grinned at Riku. "Hey you have been busy, what you up to now?" He asked loudly.

Riku blinked before scoffing, did Naruto really think they would become friends just because he wasn't dating Gaara. "Continue your conversation..." He said and left while Sasuke said, "No I think that one was your fault.." When Riku made it outside he let a small smile come to his lips seeing Gaara and he sat down next to him, "How have you been?"

Gaara glanced up at the older male then stared down at his notebook. "Not to well...a lot of shit has happened.." He muttered and pulled his hood down lower. "How have you been?" He asked as he kept writing.

"Hmm.. better.. that friend of yours.. Ian he keeps me happy.. but.." Riku reached out and snatched the notebook from Gaara flipping back a little seeing his writing changed to being messy as it did the more he got upset. "It seems Lee has not been keeping you happy..." He said, his lips pursing together to suppress a frown as he read over the notes a little before turning it around and handing it to Gaara. "But.. why are you two even broken up... from my understanding he was protecting you... and you turned your back on him but not supporting him and following him, instead you helped your father out..." Riku said in a calm tone used to Gaara's problems and he moved sitting next to the small red haired boy close, knowing he needed comfort.

"I didn't know what to do...no one has ever taken on my dad before.." Gaara said and moved his knees up and wrapped his arms around them, hugging his knees into his chest. "My father has banned me from seeing him...dad was saying the whole 'you do one more fucking thing and its off to boarding school'." He muttered and stared at the ground. "He sent Kankuro away when I was younger but my brother is so strong it didn't even change him when he came back...but I am not as strong as him...Lee would be happier with out having to deal with all my shit.."

"Gaara... you are being stupid..." Riku said laughing a little and reaching and arm up wrapping it around Gaara's neck and pulling him close into a comforting embrace. "I know you more than anyone... you are strong and can hold your own... your father will get what is coming to him one day... go speak with Lee... I know he misses you... who knows Ms. Juliet.. you may be able to sneak out against your fathers will to see your romeo," Riku said laughing softly knowing the play would be coming up tonight and both of them would have to make up before then.

Gaara closed his eyes half way relaxing into the hug and let out a long sigh. "You sure he misses me..he wasn't even looking at me during lunch...and I have barely seen him lately.." He mumbled and bit his lip. "I have already caused enough trouble for him.." He added his eyes saddening.

Riku let out a small sigh and he nodded, "Of course he misses you... he is pretending to do homework but he is sitting there trying to draw that one thing you taught him... the only reason he won't go near you is the Uchiha kid keeps death glaring at him so he stays away. Gaara... if you do not go and get back with him and be happy you hurt my heart for nothing..."

The redhead grabbed the top of his hood and pulled it down over his face. "This is stressful!" He said into the fabric and buried his face into his knees. 'How can I get back together with Lee if he holds what I did with Riku against me...I don't want to be feeling like this..' He thought feeling his eyes start to burn.

The older male frowned and he gently pulled the hood off of Gaara, tilting his head to him and giving one of his rare sweet smiles. "Gaara... I love you... and if he does not accept you back I will personally beat the crap out of him for you okay?" He said leaning in and resting his head to Gaara's, that being the only way he knew how to cheer up the boy. However he was not expecting the sudden yank away from Gaara. Lee had come out a little curious and he was shocked and hurt to see what Riku was doing. "Don't you dare ever touch my Gaara again! You have Ian! Go on, I do not care if you were comforting him, get!" Lee yelled growling. Riku blinked but he didn't move, face not showing any fear, no emotion at all as his eyes shifted down to Gaara to see what he had to say.

Gaara stared wide eyed up at Lee and then glanced at Riku. "Uh...Riku could you er.." He trailed off trying to hint to Riku that he should leave so he could talk to Lee. He stood up and moved his hood back down over his hat. 'Maybe Lee does s-still care about me..' He wondered.

Riku looked at Gaara a little worried before nodding and sighing looking to Lee. 'You better not screw up...' He thought with a glare before turning around and walking. Lee let out a sigh and he turned going to hug Gaara before rethinking it and backing up. "Sorry..." He muttered.

The redhead was silent for a moment before looking up at Lee. "How come you...reacted like that I thought we..." He then bit his lip and stepped closer. 'He called me h-his...so that means he really still loves me...right..?' He thought and set his hands on Lee's shoulders and got up on his tip toes to kiss him not able to help it. As upset as he was he was still deeply in love with the older male.

Lee's heart started racing, he loved Gaara. He loved him so much it hurt to love him. But he couldn't let the younger boy kiss him, not after what he just saw. Lee was taking it the wrong way, He thought that Riku was trying to steal Gaara back and the redhead was falling for it. So he turned his head away, feeling his heart just stop, feeling just sick to his stomach. "We never broke up... I never told you 'I want to break up with you...' yet... you are.. you go back to him... am I really that bad of a boyfriend.. I.. I cannot... you..." Lee trailed off unable to say anymore without crying so he just pulled back.

Gaara felt the ache in his heart increase when Lee pulled away and he froze hearing what he said. 'What? He thinks I am trying to be with Riku?? Why would he think that Riku was comforting me..' He thought and struggled to get his voice to work. "Y-You don't understand.." He started and could feel he was starting to lose control of his emotions.

"I understand perfectly.. what I did before was wrong... even though I was defending you.. you let me walk away... and you protected your father... So you are angry with me.. and all I did was hurt you more.. and you are going back to him... i-it... it is fine... if that is what you want.. you call it when it is over.." Lee said and he swallowed a huge lump in his throat before turning around and walking away, yet again turning his back on Gaara though he did not want to.

Gaara bit hard into his lip to the point it started to bleed and gripped his head. "NO! You got it wrong! I hold no feelings for him! I am now banned from seeing you...I c-can't do this..this is all to confusing and to hard.." He said his eyes filling with tears and he backed up. "I c-can't handle this...just f-forgot me! Go b-back to your friends...I w-will go where I belong and y-you go where you b-belong t-then you can be happy!...A-And I can s-stop ruining your life.." He said and then ran into the school needing to be alone, once again forgetting his backpack.

Lee tried to hide his tears and he turned around when he heard Gaara run. "Gaara..." He whispered then let his tears fall walking over and getting his backpack. Three hours after school was over Lee was being rushed into a costume and he was depressed. He had no clue what Gaara was going through. Why didn't he tell him these things? And before he knew it he was pused on stage and he had to talk to Naruto. It all seemed simple and easy, that is until the scene in which Romeo and juliet were both speaking to their care takers about the other. "Oh I have no clue what to do.. Juliet just will not tell me any of her problems, it hurts me so.." Lee said until he realized what he said was not part of the script and he looked to Gaara's side of the stage hoping he would not notice.

Gaara was trying to get the long black wig on froze for a moment and looked at the stage. 'What's he doing..? Is he mixing up lines?' He thought then finely got the wig on and folded his arms still mad he had to wear a dress...again..some times he hated plays. Naruto sweat dropped and then cleared his throat. "What do you mean?" He asked trying to stay in character.

"I mean, Juliet's father has forbidden us to meet, it hurts me so..." Lee said but he could not help but wince thinking of the fact, Gaara's father really had banned them from seeing each other.

Gaara took a deep breath to get himself into his role and stepped onto the stage, he winced at the bright light and looked at the girl who was playing the care taker. "I wish so badly to see Romeo..why is fate always so cruel." He said and tried hard not to look over at Lee.

"Juliet, I will see her tonight... apologize for what i- I mean her father has done and let her know... I am here no matter what.." Lee said completely forgetting his lines when he glanced at Gaara coming on stage. He looked just like a woman, if he did not know Gaara was the one playing Juliet he would diffidently think he was a girl.

Gaara blinked and glanced over at Lee. 'What's he doing?' He thought and frowned a little. 'Is he messing with me?' "As much as I care about Romeo..I wish he would mind his own business at times." He said and folded his arms over the fake chest. The girl sweat dropped and gave him a confused look.

Lee frowned, Gaara was talking to him with that one. He forced himself to keep his back turned towards Gaara as he made up his next like, pitching it to the fake Juliet instead of the audience, "However Julie can be so stubborn... I am worried she does not trust my judgment on her fathers word is bad for her..."

Gaara twitched a little. 'Stubborn?!' He thought and tightened his hands into fists. "I wonder if Romeo will ever understand that sometimes their father is right about things.." He said and bit into his already hurt lip.

Lee turned around at that, staring right at Gaara. "Father is right? Father is right?! How can a father be right when he hurts his so- daughter so! Casting ..her to the life of loneliness... never able to be with her one true love! How can a father be right on something like that."

The redhead turned and glared at the older male. "I am broken...and can't be fixed.. So if I am alone I won't ruin anyone else's life! And my father has kept me from doing that!" He snapped and Naruto gaped at them. 'Ok...what the hell are they doing??' He thought.

Lee moved closer to Gaara as the audience started to become confused. "You think that is best?! Honestly! Juliet look around you! You are being selfish... I am putting my life on the line to come, see you, sneak out and enjoy our love, defy your father.. yet... you push me away to try and not ruin my life?! Juliet..." Lee's voice suddenly went lower and he moved close enough to whisper. "Gaara..." And then he raised his volume again acting as if it was just a pause, "You are my life! I am nothing without you! I will keep loving you no matter how much our love is shunned upon!!"

Gaara looked at Lee surprised and stepped back since Lee had moved into his personal space. "B-But you would be happier without me! You were doing just fine without me if your life!...I'm going to always be broken! And you s-still hold what I did wi-...that I..the things I have done wrong against me!" He yelled and looked down feeling that aching pain again.

"Juliet you fool! I care about you!! More than you will ever know! I may not show it but I am aching, my heart yearns for your touch, your voice, your scent, everything about my beauty.. my precious... my..." Lee trailed off again and he stopped closer to Gaara again tilting his head up so he could see the one feature that defined Gaara in the outfit, his bright green eyes. "My Gaara..." he whispered, words barely audible to even Gaara who was a mere inch from him.

Gaara grit his teeth trying hard not to let himself cry and looked up into his lovers eyes. "A-Are you sure..you sure you w-want to keep being near me..?" He asked and swallowed feeling like was a lump in his throat making it hard to speak. 'H-He's c-calling me h-his again..' He bit his lower lip and glanced off to the side trying to think of something more to say.

Lee frowned and he did not like that Gaara was the one looking away this time. Raising his hand he tilted the redhead's head back to his and smiled at him. "I am positive I want to stay near you..." He added then leaned in and pressed his lips to Gaara in a gently touch before wrapping his arms tightly around the boy, kissing him deeply and passionately.

Gaara stiffened up in shock blushing a dark red then slowly closed his eyes not able to help it and kissed back. Naruto couldn't help but smile and leaned on the fake wall behind him. 'About time..' He thought. Anko was gaping staring at the stage. 'They ruined the play!!...Wait..' She thought and stood up clapping and everyone looked confused before clapping and then cheering. Gaara jumped away from Lee remember where he was and turned as red as his hair.

Lee turned bright red and he looked away from the crowd saying, "Right so uh Juliet.. will you join me in a happily ever after?" Lee inquired reaching his hand out to the young male dressed as a woman trying to improvise an ending for their now complex play.

Gaara swallowed then nodded shyly placing his hand in Lee's. "Y-Yes!" He said and then quickly dragged Lee off the stage feeling extremely embarrassed. Naruto chuckled then walked over to the front of the stage and bowed before walking off with the girl. "Well..thank god everyone is a idiot and thought that was p-part of the play." Gaara muttered and reached up to push the fake bangs out of his eyes.

Lee gulped and he looked around, seeing the changing rooms he dragged Gaara over and pushed him in, letting him rest against the wall. "Gaara-kun... do not even leave me again... I.. you saw how I acted.. I ruined the play... I can not function without you.... you are mine.. and only mine..." Lee told him, reaching up and gently tugging on the wig pulling it and the wig cap off so he could fully see his lover.

Gaara stared up at the older male and felt his heart beat faster at his words. "Lee...y-you truly mean that?" He asked and then blushed when Lee pulled off the wig. "I a-am still h-having issues..and my father will still try and not let me s-see you.." He said and rubbed his elbow. 'I k-kind of like it when he calls me h-his..' He thought then blushed darker. 'Not the time to be thinking that!'

"Then we can hide our love until you can be free of him... Gaara.. I do not care what happens to me.. as long as you are happy and living well and he does not hurt you anymore I will be happy..." Lee muttered and he could not help himself as he moved in, resting his head in the crook of the smaller boy's neck wanting to inhale his scent because he had not in so long and he was surprised to smell something sweet. Pulling back he laughed a little, "Did they put perfume on you..?"

Gaara blushed darker from Lee suddenly being so close and closed his eyes half way. "O-Ok.." He whispered and then sweat dropped at hearing the rest of what he said. "They almost killed me with it! The girls always go over board when doing the make up and the wig!...I mean I am freaking wearing a fake chest.." He said poking at the fake breast. Then he blinked and looked down awkwardly. 'S-So he really wants to stay together..' He thought.

Lee laughed a little and he looked down, "Though I must admit you are a really cute girl.. I will take my sexy redhead any day.." Lee said before pulling back giving Gaara a grin and a thumbs up saying "Yosh!" And then he tilted his head staring at the fake breast leaning in and poking it. "Are they water balloons???"

Gaara blushed dark at being called sexy then leaned back a little to look at Lee's hand. "No they ar-" He froze when he heard the door opened and looked over to see Naruto. "Hey guys that was pretty amazing I just talked to Anko and she said..." Naruto trailed off and raised a eye brow watching Lee poke at Gaara's chest. "You guys are so weird..is this gonna be a new fetish for Gaara to wear dresses?" Naruto asked smirking. Gaara glared at him and reached down the dress and throw one of the fake breasts at him hitting him the face. "No Lee they are sand bags." Gaara replied as Naruto was holding his nose in pain.

The older male cracked up at Naruto and then he pulled back, "No, they cover up too much, when he wears his jeans and sweaters at least I can see the beautiful curves of his normal body and not this tight corset.." Lee said in a soft voice looking Gaara up and down showing he never lost interest in his lover. "Now what did Anko say?"

Gaara blushed again and pulled out the other sand bag then folded his arms. 'B-Beautiful curves??' He thought and wished he had his sweat shirt on so he could pull his hood down and hide the fact he was blushing. It was still going to be a bit awkward between them but Gaara was glad Lee wanted him by his side. Naruto pulled off the dress shirt and started looking around for his t-shirt. "Well she said you guys made a whole new version of the play and everyone thought the ending was really sweet..though no one knows it was Gaara dressed as a chick." He said and shrugged. "But your not in trouble or anything Bushy-Brows."

Lee sweat dropped and rubbed the back of his neck, "yeah... I would prefer not to be in trouble by anymore teachers.." He said still thinking about how he had went off on his social studies teacher. As Lee was about to say something more though the small Uchiha walked in and went to go over to Gaara however when he caught a glimpse of Naruto without a shirt on he stopped watching where he was going and tripped over a cord, falling over the snack bar table and landing on the floor with a loud thud, still blushing form the sight. 'Why does he have no shirt on?! I knew it was a bad idea to come back here...'

Naruto jumped at the thud and turned around to look down at Sasuke. "Whoa careful man this place is a death trap." He said and moved the cord while Gaara knelt down next to Sasuke. "Are you alright??" He asked looking worried and grabbed his arm helping him to his feet. "That sounded like it hurt."

"I Uh.... I uh... I am fine..." Sasuke said though he could not take his eyes off of Naruto. 'No body! Stop it, focus.. focus..' "Are you two all better now or was that really the play...?" The Uchiha asked forcing himself to look instead at Gaara and Lee. The eldest male sweat dropped and nodded, "we are better it was all improvised off of us needing to blow steam off apparently.."

Gaara gave a awkward look at Lee then brushed dust off the Uchiha. "So now that the play is over what do you guys want to do?" He asked and walked over to his clothes. "I need to change so can you guys leave?" Naruto nodded and quickly changed not even caring everyone was in the room.

Sasuke was bright red and he turned, shakily walking out of the room with Naruto behind but Lee refused to leave. "Why do I have to leave if you are changing? Can I not help?" Lee asked with a small playful pout towards his lover. But the truth was, he really just was afraid to leave Gaara's side now.
