The dark beast stirs

Sleep found him after a few minutes of tossing and turning pulling him under into a seething sea of dreams. For some reason Gai's subconciousness returned to the time around the death of the third and the appearance of Uchiha Itachi and that missing-nin from the hidden mist, mixing the memories and making it appear as if all had happened at the same time.

Chaos reigned around Gai, ninja attacking the giant snake summons while the blood traitor Uchiha and his shark-blooded companion were just barely held at bay by several Jounin both Asuma and Kurenai there, but two others in the place of Gai and Kakashi as they played out the actions like actors.

In fact, watching it more and more somehow made it seem... fake. The woods didn't seem that deep. The houses seemed like painted two-dimensional plywood and the people didn't seem that scared. Even the giant snakes began appearing more and more as giant puppets.

Having had this kind of dream often in the last few days Gai was confused as the familiar landscape changed, first in subtle ways then becoming ever more glaringly obvious. Turning his head he just caught how the replacement Kakashi sank beneath the surface of the river, just as it had happened in reality, only something was very different about it this time. Gai could only watch from his spot as unseen observer.

Kakashi's replacement did not get up out of the water.

No one made any move to help him. They were, however, keenly aware he was gone. Everyone seemed to stop what they were doing to look where he had disappeared under the surface, even long after the bubbles stopped.

The only one that did not seem to be affected by this was Gai's double. Not even bothering to look at the place at his feet where the other man had disappeared a dark smile played across his lips as he challenged the two Akatsuki members, uncaring or unknowing of Gai's presence , although the 'azure beast of Konoha' had rushed there as soon as it had become apparent that nobody else would help, trying in vain to reach for the other ANBU, ignoring everything around him.

The water was deep, too deep. There seemed to be no bottom to it, and Kakashi's replacement was nowhere to be seen in it. All at once, the water reached up to embrace Gai and swallowed him, only after a moment of terrible weightlessness to spit him back out again. He was not in the same place he was before.

He seemed to be in his own bathtub now, at home.

He was not alone, however. Hushed speaking and rough breathing could be heard in the direction of his own bedroom.

Disoriented he lay in his tub for a moment before pulling himself upright and cautiously making his way to the bathroom door, peeking carefully through a small gap into the dim depths of his bedroom, trying to identify the voices and figure out what was going on. The water dripped down his face and coldly ran down his back, making him shiver at the chilly sensation but he kept ignoring the way it was pooling around his feet.

The room was dark, but there were clearly two figures on the bed... One sitting, one laying down. As Gai's eyes adjusted to the dim lighting in the room, the scandalous scene before him became apparent.

It was him, on the bed, with Kakashi. Both of them lacked any kind of clothing. Gai himself sat back, leaning against the wall, a relaxed, almost smug expression on his face. One of his hands was threaded through Kakashi's mop of silver hair as Kakashi lay on his back on the bed, head between Gai's legs as he lapped at Gai's erection, eyes half-lidded and glossed. He seemed to be pulling his own legs closed in embarrassment despite neither of them being aware of the 'real' Gai's presence, and despite him clearly being the Kakashi that had no shame.

However, before his legs could close, the Gai on the bed gave a swift and painful yank on Kakashi's hair, getting a quiet yelp from the other ANBU and the quick response of his legs spreading as wide as they could once more. He, it was easy to see now, was wearing the cock ring that Kakashi had put on Gai before. Something else though seemed horribly wrong, but it took a moment longer before it became clear. It was the colouring on his legs . All along the insides of Kakashi's thighs were welts, the kind one would most likely receive from a belt of some kind being used as a whip.

Gai gasped in dismay at the sight, any kind of carnal interest he might have had dying with decisive swiftness. Pushing the door open he stalked into the room, his wet clothing clinging to him and leaving wet footprints with every step. "What is going on here!" He exploded in youthful indignation, but didn't give either of the two men time to respond. " Why were you hurting him?" He demanded to know from his doppelganger.

"You weren't." The Gai on the bed responded, darkly, sparing the real Gai a glance before looking back down at Kakashi. He gave another quick and painful twist of Kakashi's hair as he regarded him with an almost cool disgust. Kakashi let out another yelp but acted quickly, presumably out of fear of what Gai might do next if he didn't. And as he moved to his hands and knees to take Gai deeper into his mouth, these fears became less unfounded as Kakashi's back was revealed to the real Gai... his abused opening, the red marks all along his rear, and numerous scratches and welts similar to those on his thighs etched across his back. For the brief moment where Kakashi's wrists came in to view, dark bruises were seen all along there.

"Besides," the doppelganger continued, stroking Kakashi's scalp with the hand that just before almost seemed to try and tear it out, "you know he deserves it. The slut probably even likes it."

Kakashi took Gai deep into his mouth and throat as if he wanted nothing more in the world, as if he would die without it.

"Nobody deserves that!" Gai returned, his fists clenching in helpless anger. "And how would you know if he might want it? You care nothing about him!" A few more squelching steps brought him to the side of the bed. "Stop this this instant." His eyes fixed on the other him as he tried his best to tune out Kakashi's maltreated body and his actions for the time being. "And stop pretending to be me as well. We are nothing alike!"

"Don't tell me you really believe that." the dark Gai snorted, giving the real Gai another disgusted glance. "I am you. Even if you don't want to admit it, you know I'm there, inside you." All at once he seemed to stop enjoying Kakashi's efforts and pulled the other ANBU away from him roughly, tossing him onto his back onto the mattress then backhanding him across the face.

"He DESERVES this!" the other Gai roared, looking at Kakashi's prone, gasping, abused form with anger. "He used us! If this is all he wants, then that's what he'll get!!" He grabbed onto Kakashi's shoulder with a grip strong enough to bruise and flipped the silver-haired man onto his chest, forced him down then pushing into him without any kind of lubrication.

Kakashi screamed, but pushed his hips back to meet Gai's none the less.

"Stop this!" Grasping the broad shoulders identical to his own Gai ripped the other him away from Kakashi. "No matter what, it doesn't give you permission to treat him or anybody like this!" Placing himself between Kakashi and the other him he glared at himself, or so it seemed. "This is the reason I keep you locked away!"

Before the other Gai could speak in his own defence, Kakashi brought himself up to slide his arms around the real Gai's waist and up his chest. Rough breathing tickled against Gai's ear as Kakashi leaned in to speak, softly, voice plaintive. "...You haven't been paying attention to me. No one has. Please, if you're going to ignore me... just give me to him."

"SEE?!" the other Gai yelled out. "That's all he wants! We should have seen it from the start!"

"That doesn't mean you have the right to hurt him!" Gai shook his head sadly. "It's my fault for letting this happen. I shouldn't have let it come to this." Turning in Kakashi's arms he stroked the cheek that had just suffered under his own hands. "I'll do better from now on. I promise..." He threw a quick look over his shoulder. giving his other self a last weary glance. "I don't need you...and neither does he."

The other Gai said nothing, just glared darkly at the real Gai and the adoring Kakashi practically hanging off of him. When finally Gai looked away from him, the double vanished. Kakashi pressed himself against Gai almost lovingly, not seeming to mind the change of lovers.

"I'm sorry." Gai declared finally, letting the full extend of Kakashi's injury hit him. Shame washed over him in a huge wave, after all what the other Gai had said was true, he was merely a piece of Gai's character he had at a young age decided to keep locked away. Sitting down on the bed he hugged the other man to his chest petting the few areas where there was no visible injury.

The places without injury seemed to be very few and far between. Even places that before seemed unharmed now revealed themselves to have minor scratches or forming bruises, there was even a burn mark or two. Kakashi didn't seem to mind the pain and nuzzled against Gai's neck like an affectionate pet.

This made the appearance of a second Kakashi all the more out of place. But it wasn't a Kakashi, instead it was the same Not-Kakashi Gai saw so many nights ago on the return trip from a mission with Kakashi. Obito-Kakashi.

Obito leaned back to look at Gai, facing away from him on the bed where he hadn't been, previously. "...Although this shouldn't be forgotten, really, it's time to wake up now."

The dream vanished around Gai a full minute before his alarm clock was set to go off.
