Chapter 22: Marriage preparations

“Are the flowers here yet? What about the food? Are you sure that Neji and the others will be here.” Kakashi and Tsunade shook their heads and sighed as they watched a flustered Iruka run around the ballroom and nagged the poor servants who were working on the preparations for the upcoming weeding.

“´Ruka-darling, calm down. Everything is going to be fine. We have two whole days and Neji, Hinata and the others will be here in a few hours.” The silver-haired nin told his lover.

“But… but everything has to be perfect… it is Naruto´s weeding… and I… Oh Kakashi, he has grown up so fast.” The brunette almost sobbed.

“I know, love, I know. But that is the way things have to be. We can´t expect them to stay kids all their lives, now can we?”

“Why not?”

“… “Kakashi wasn´t sure what to say, and luckily he didn´t have too as a messenger dropped by to tell the Hokage that her shinobi had arrived.

“Neji´s team is finally here? I have to make sure that they have Naruto´s yukata with them.” The brunette rushed past both Kakashi and the Hokage.

“He really loves Naruto like a son, nee?” Asked the busty blonde woman.

“He sure does… may I ask why you are so calm? Isn’t Naruto like a son to you too?” The copy-nin asked with an amused tone.

“He is like a son to me… but I am the Hokage and I have to maintain my self control.” She said.

“WHAT?!” Iruka´s voice roamed through the halls “YOU FORGOT WHAT?!”

Kakashi´s eyes went wide at not only his lover´s angry and frustrated voice but also his Hokage´s reaction.

The aging woman managed to run down two young men who were arranging the chairs for the guest as well as jumping over a table filled with vases and glasses without breaking any; just to see what the fuss was about and maybe beat the crap out of a certain Hyuuga if he had left something important back in Konoha.

“… Maintain control… yeah right!” He chuckled as he walked towards the exit to see what was going on.

“So, let me see if I get this right.” The young man with the whisker-like marks on his face chuckled. “You decided that I was to hot for ice-cream and wanted to eat me instead?”
“Something like that!” The Uchiha smirked against Naruto´s heated skin as he trailed the tanned neck up to his ear with butterfly kisses.

“Well, I still want my ice-cream afterwards.” The blonde muffled as his lips were claimed by his lover´s.

“Of course.” Sasuke was happy that Naruto allowed him to caress and kiss him. He had been chocked as the blonde had refused him because of the hormonal mess he was going through right now.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

“Otokage-sama, the guests from Konoha-gakure have arrived.” Came a voice from the other side of the bathroom door.

“Fine, now leave!” The Uchiha growled. He was going to kill this idiot who dared to disturb his private meeting with his blonde soul-mate.

“… Otokage-sama. Lady Hokage is about to break everything in the lobby.” The Sound nin stated.

“WHAT?!” Both Sasuke and Naruto yelled in unison.

“My lord, it seems that the Hokage and a scarred brunette is pis… um angry at the shinobi who has just arrived… we have tried to pull them apart, but without success.”

“…#Deep sigh# We will be there in a minute, now leave!” Sasuke growled as he looked deeply into his beloved blonde´s worried eyes. ´Damn, now those idiots managed to make Naruto worry… I will kick their asses and I have to make sure that this won’t happen again. `

“I´m sorry, love, but I think we should better go down there.” The Uchiha got out of the tub with another sigh. The love session would have to wait; someone would definitely have to pay for this!

“Yeah.” Naruto looked really annoyed too and Sasuke decided to cheer his cutely pouting lover up.
He offered the blonde a hand and embraced him tightly as soon as Naruto was on his feet and kissed him.

“I love you, Naruto.” He whispered lovingly. “We’ll settle this and then I´m gonna take you to the best ice-cream stand in all Oto-gakure.”

“Mmmmm Sas…ke, double chocolate, pistachio and cherry?” The blonde moaned into the kiss as Sasuke nibbled at his earlobe.

“Yup, all you can eat. I went there all the time when I craved for something sweet and you weren’t here yet.” He whispered. Though he had never had much love for sweets, Sasuke found that he had a weakness for licorice ice-cream; especially the way the made it here at the Sound.

He really wanted Naruto so badly right now… damn Hokage and her fierce mood.

“Dobe… we really have to get dressed.” He mumbled as he kept on licking and kissing the smooth skin on that lovely tanned neck.

“NNngh, don´t want to…”

Five minutes later:

“What the hell is going on down here?!” Sasuke´s deep growl could be heard roaming through the halls of the Oto-gakure tower as he and Naruto entered the main hall and saw the mess there.

“Baa-chan, Iruka-sensei? Let go of Neji… please… you are choking him!” Naruto couldn´t understand what was going on and neither could Sasuke.

“But… But Naruto-kun. He forgot to bring something really important!” Iruka explained.

“I don´t care… if there is going to be any killing in these halls it will be I who do it and none other!” Growled the Uchiha as he grabbed the poor Hyuuga who was already turning blue from the lack of oxygen, and handed him on to Naruto and Hinata to keep him safe.

“What on earth did you forget that was so important that you were nearly strangled?” Naruto asked in confusion. “Did you forget to bring my father´s yukata or something like that?”

“…#cough#...No… #cough# we brought your families yukata… but… #cough# we forgot… something else.” Neji said as he desperately tried to catch his breath.

“What the hell did you leave behind?!” Growled the Uchiha as he turned to look at Neji who was now resting his head on his fiancé’s lap.

“Well…”

“Are you sure that we will find him here?” A male voice asked beneath his cloak.

“… The rumors say so.” His female companion answered as they walked through the gates of Oto-gakure.

“But we have followed so many dead leads already! Maybe we should call it quits and go back home.” The male said with a sigh.

“No! I have lost him once… I will find him and bring him back to his real home… were he will be appreciated and loved!” The female stated with light anger in her voice.

“Welcome to Oto-gakure.” Greeted the guard.” Are you here for the weeding?”

“Weeding?” The female asked.

“The weeding between our powerful Otokage Uchiha Sasuke and his chosen partner Uzumaki Naruto.” The guard said with a smile.

“… “Both of the cloaked figures looked at each other before staring back at the guard.

“We get that a lot!” The Sound nin grinned.

“Get what a lot?” The male asked.

“Well, people here were a bit surprised at first too… I mean, they are both male…but none of us have ever seen out Kage so happy since he brought his… friend here.”

“Thank you.” The male bowed as he and the female walked through the gates towards the next inn.

“So he is here after all!” The cloaked male said.

“Finally we will be able to reclaim what belong to us.” The female said as a smile filled with resolution crept onto her lips.

“What do we do about the other one?” The male asked. “If they are going to get married… then things will become difficult.”

“I´m sure that this marriage is the Uchiha´s idea… they tend to try anything to get what they want… I´m sure that he is forcing this on our heir!”

“So what did you forget?” Sasuke growled again. He had succeeded in calming Tsunade down with a little help from the sharingan and Kakashi was taking care of the problem with Iruka.

“…Well.” The Hyuuga began, happily Hinata decided to take over.

“Well you see, Naruto, Sasuke-sama, there is this tradition.” She explained calmly.

“Tradition?” Both Sasuke and Naruto asked in unison.

“Yes, and in this tradition the friends and family of the… eh bride… and that would be you, Naruto…”

“WHAT?!” The blonde pouted. “Why would I-“

“Well you are pregnant with Sasuke´s offspring!” Neji stated dryly.

“Hmmm, but still!” The blonde barked.

“Well…”Hinata coughed to regain everyone’s attention. “They friends and family have to collect a few things for the bride to be; for good luck and prosperity.” The raven-haired woman explained with a light blush.

“What kind of things?” Sasuke asked as he lifted a brow in curiosity. Never had he head of a tradition like that before, though it seemed to be of great importance to Iruka, Tsunade and Sakura who had suddenly decided to show up. She seemed pissed at the Hyuuga (Neji) too after Tsunade had whispered something into her ear.

“… For a couple to become happy in holy matrimony forever… it takes something new, something old, something borrowed and something blue.” Hinata told the marring couple.

“And?” The raven-haired Otokage asked. “What connection does this have to Neji?”

“… What he did is unforgivable!” Both Iruka and Sakura cried.

“He forgot to bring the four things that ´Ruka-darling, Sakura-chan and Tsunade-Hime had picked out for this.” Kakashi said with a chuckle.

“Hnnn.” Sasuke sighed as he looked from the half-way strangled Hyuuga to the three hysteric ´family` members that were ready to kill Neji for his mistake.

“I don´t really see a problem.” Naruto rose to his feet and walked to stand next to Sasuke. “The yukata belonged to my dad, and it’s old; right!”

“And it’s blue.” Sasuke added as he slipped and arm around his lover´s waist.

“All you need it something borrowed and something new… One of you could borrow me something and you could find something new here at the sound… my new home.” Naruto told them.

Iruka, Tsunade and Sakura stared at him as if he had just invented the cure for cancer or something.

“You are a genius.” The Uchiha leaned in and whispered softly into his lover´s blonde locks; sliding his tongue lightly against Naruto´s earlobe.

“… Something… borrowed?” Sakura mumbled.

“Something… new?” Added Tsunade and Iruka. “We can work with that!” All three of them smiled widely at Naruto and Sasuke; threw an annoyed glare at Neji and walked of through the door towards the city.

Kira and Gaara walked in just as the chattering three left. Both Kira and the kazekage glared in curiosity after the unlikely threesome(heh… heh)

“Say, what did we miss?” Gaara asked. He had an arm around the blonde girl’s waist and she had one around his.

“You don´t wanna know.” Naruto said with a sigh. “Weeding traditions and crazy people.”
“Crazy people who love you, Naruto.” Neji said as he got back on his feet with a little help from his fiancé.

“Thank you, Naruto-kun, for saving my fiancé’s life.” Hinata bowed respectfully to Naruto and Sasuke.

“Well, there wouldn´t have been much left of him if Sasuke hadn´t butted in.” The blonde demon carrier grinned.

“So what are you two up to?” Sasuke asked Gaara and Kira.

“Sasuke-sama… I have a favor to ask.” Kira asked as she looked from Sasuke to Naruto to her redheaded boyfriend.

“…I would like to go back with Gaara and his family to Suna-gakure after your weeding… would you allow this?” She asked while staring at her feet.

“You want to leave?” Sasuke asked without hesitation.

“… Don´t get me wrong, Sasuke-sama. I´m grateful for everything you have done for me; saving my life. Training me, giving me a purpose in life… even though everyone else considered me a burden and useless.”

“Don´t say that you are useless, Kira-chan, Never! You are among my dearest friends and a strong and skilled konoichi… If you want to leave… then leave. Go… see the world and become happy with your most precious person. I want you to be happy.” The Uchiha said while dragging Naruto a bit close to his beating chest.

Gaara smiled with pure happiness for the first time in his life. So the Uchiha had a warm and very feeling heart after all. Naruto would be safe and loved here, of that the redhead was now one-hundred percent sure.

“Thank you, Sasuke-sama… I will be back in time of the birth… “Kira said with a warm smile on her lips and teats of relief and happiness in her bright blue eyes.

“We both will.” Said the redhead as he kissed his girlfriend lovingly on her rosy lips.

“I guess ice-cream will have to wait!” A certain pregnant blonde whispered into his raven-haired lover´s ear.

“I guess you are right, Naruto.” Said lover whispered back.
