Chapter 22: Goodbye Konoha

gYo!h Kakashi greeted Sakura and Lee who were arguing about the proper way to wrap SasukeLs plates so they would survive the long trip to Oto-gakure. Sasuke had asked them to pack up the stuff in the kitchen and the living-room while he and Naruto packed everything on the first floor.

gHi Kakashi-senseic you came just in time to answer an important question. WhatLs best; newspaper or towels?h the pink-haired medic asked his while pointing at the plates.

gc Um I dunno,h the silver-haired nin told them as he raised a brow at their strange activities. gSay kidsc what are you doing anyway?h

gWe are helping niisan and Sasuke-kun to pack.h The pink-haired konoichi told him as if it was common knowledge that Naruto and Sasuke had decided to leave in the morningc which it of course wasnLt as the two future leaders of the Sound had just made that decision about two hours agoc and neither of them had been out of the Uchiha compound since Lee had been out, shopping four hours ago.

gThey are leaving already?h Kakashi asked in light surprise.

gYes, tomorrow?h the medic answered.

gc Um where are they? I need to deliver a message from Tsunade-sama to them.h The silver-haired nin told them.

gThey are upstairsc hopefully packing towels and sheets into boxes,h Lee said with a small blush.

gWhat do you mean?h Kakashi asked with a well hidden smirk.

gc We both walked in on them while they were nakedc or making out,h Sakura chuckled at her perverted sensei. She knew what he was thinking as she had learned to interpret his mood from the single visible eye as the rest was well hidden beneath his mask and hitai-ate.

gOh heh heh I guess I better go have a look then,h and with that he climbed the stairs with a huge grin on his masked face.

Sasuke was packing his fatherLs book collection into boxes while the energetic blonde was working in the bedroom. Naruto had his head buried in the closet as Kakashi snug up on him from behind and tickled him.

Kakashi should have known better than to pull a prank on a powerful and slightly frustrated half demon who had been denied sex all day from his dark-haired lover due to their packing and because of their down stairs guests.

Sasuke stormed the bedroom as he heard a strangled cry, only to find a growling Naruto on top of Kakashi with bared fangs as the blonde didnLt find it very amusing to be tickled by his former sensei, as he bumped his head on a shelve as he had jumped in surprise.

gNarutoc get of him alreadyc youLre scaring our former sensei,h the Uchiha said with a smirk.

gWell he deserved itc old pervert,h Naruto growled. He crawled of the older man none the less and even offered a hand to help Kakashi back on his feet.

gMa ma Naruto-kun, my sincerest apology,h the copy-nin chuckled. gSo I hear that you guys are leaving in the morning?h

gYes we are. We have been here long enoughc I know that a month hasnLt passed yet but a lot of work awaits us at Oto-gakure Kakashi.h Sasuke told him while wrapping an arm around the pouting blondeLs waist.

gc Well itLs your decision ne. Oh by the wayc Tsunade-sama wants to see youc we have found something interestingc and she wants to show it to you in person.h

gBaa-chan wants to see usc now?h Naruto asked his former sensei and teammate.

Both men gave Kakashi a death glare at the bad choice of words.

gWhat?h Kakashi chuckled. gI just wanted to hear if you need any help? I could ask Iruka, Gaara and the others to give you a handc especially if you wanna move to Oto-gakure tomorrow.h

gYeah that would be nicec Thank you Kakashi,h Naruto said with a smile. All prior annoyance was gone and only gratitude and warmth was left in those sparkling red-streaked blue eyes.

Deidara and Sasori watched the entrance to the hidden Akatsuki hideout from a save distance as they wasnLt sure what was going on.

gSasori-koic why are we waiting again?h asked the blonde as he brushed his shoulder against the puppet-master.

gSomething doesnLt add up. Why would Pain want us to show up in person instead of using the astral projection as we always do? And why do we continue to collect the Jinchuuriki and the stray Bijuu if the strongest Bijuu has been absorbed by itLs container and has become useless to us as we wonLt be able to extract it?h the redhead wondered.

gc I dunno, maybe he has changed the plans and is after something else.h The blonde artist suggested.

gMaybec but I have a strange feeling about thisc and thatLs usually a bad sign.h

They watched as Hidan and Kazuko entered the cave before Itachi and Kisame showed up as well.

gWhat do you suggest we do Sasori-koi?h Deidara asked.

gBaa-chan?h Naruto knocked on the door to the HokageLs door. Sasuke was talking to Shizune about some forms he would like to fill out before he and the blonde departed from the Sound.

gWhatcha doing Teme?h Naruto asked while he raised a brow at the raven.

gFilling out a form that will allow the Sound to open a trade route with the leaf Dobe. I wouldnLt want you to live without your beloved ramen.h Sasuke whispered with a light chuckle.

gYou are a true genius Teme,h the blonde chuckled and gave the Uchiha a chaste kiss on the lips. gI love you.h

gBrats! No kissing on my floor and now get your asses in here,h Tsunade called through the closed door.

gHow does she do that?h Naruto whispered into raven locks as Sasuke was about to open the door.

gI donLt know and I donLt really carec come on Dobe, letLs hear what she has to say so we can go home and pack up the remaining stuff.h The Uchiha said as he opened the door and entered the office.

Deidara and Sasori finally decided to see what their leader wanted and entered the cave.

gc Oh crap!h Deidara whispered as they saw the blood covered walls. Hidan and Kazuko were dead, killed by Itachi, Pain and Tobi. Kisame and Konan were standing next to their partners with an indifferent look on their faces.

gAh there you are,h Tobi chuckled. gI wondered when you would show upc was it too boring to hide in the bushes outside?h

gWhat is the meaning of this?h Sasori demanded to know.

gThose two outlived their purpose Sasoric and they were so annoying donLt you agree?. We want to recruit some new members and weLre gonna need a few rings for that.h Pain told them as if it was no big deal.

Deidara stared at his leader in fear while Sasori growled at Pain.

gHow dare you! Do you expect us just to let you kill us?h Sasori growled angrily while stepping in front of Deidara to protect the blonde with his life.

gNo. We need DeidaraLs abilities with clay and as we know of hiscaffection for you Sasori and yours towards himc we will allow you to live if Deidara accepts our offer.h Pain told him with a smirk.

gYou will have to give up on your ring and stay with Deidara to be allowed to live though.h Itachi told the puppet-master. gThe Shichibi will be a perfect power-up for Deidara.h

gWhat?! You want mec to become a Jinchuuriki, why?h the blonde asked.

gBecause of the Uzumaki kid we have found a way to gain full control of the Bijuu and their powers. We have selected nine shinobi who will become the new Akatsuki, and your ability to control clay makes you the perfect host for LMujina` the seven-tailed badger Deidara-kun,h Tobi told them. gWhat is your decision? gYes we have. That is why it was an easy task to kill Kakuzu and Hidan even though Hidan thought he was immortal,h Zetsu stated as he emerged from the shadows to feed of his dead teammates.

gI guess we have no choice then. Saoric I donLt want to lose you.h the blonde whispered to his lover. gPlease give up on the stupid ring and stay with me koi. In time we will get even with them.h

gILm with you all the way Deidara aijin,h Sasori whispered back as he slid the LTama` ring of his left thumb and tossed it to Pain who caught it effortlessly.

gThat was the right decision,h Tobi chuckled. gNow all we have to do is to woe the final two members of our new team. Our next destination will be the Soundc but we wonLt approach our new members right awayc weLll have to wait for the opportune moment.h

gSay that again,h Naruto and Sasuke asked the Hokage as she had told them about the former councils little secrets.

gYou will both be given back your families belongings and Naruto, your linage will be known to everyone. Your fatherLs final wish will finally be granted and everyone will know what you did to save our city,h she told them. She was a bit sad that they would leave in the morning, but the brats had grown into men and they were free to do what they felt was right.

gI have already dispatched a few ANBU to the Sound with your stuff which the council had kept hidden from you. Here are the deeds for your families property here in Konohac you are free to do with it what you want though I hope that youLll keep itc till when you stop by to visit usc so you would be able to live at your own place while visiting,h Tsunade told them.

gThe money and jewelry has been deposited in the bank in your namesc itLs a lot of cash and ILm sure that you will find good use of it at your new home.h She told them with a smile.

gc Thank you Baa-chan,h Naruto whispered. He wasnLt sure how to express what he was feeling right now. He was finally being acknowledged and he was rich for the first time in his life. He walked up to the blonde Kage and hugged her tightly against his chest.

gYou are the best Baa-chanc I love you,h he whispered with a smile. She was the closet thing to a mother he had ever had and he knew that no matter whatc he would always have a home here.

gI love you too kid.h She whipped a tear from her eyes as she felt happy to have been able to do something good for her gaki.

Sasuke wanted to shake the HokageLs hand in gratitude but was pulled to her ample chest for a tight bear hug.

gDonLt be so distant Sasuke-kun. We are almost family and I expect you to treat my gaki with love and respect or I will kick your ass and cut your balls off and feed them to KibaLs Akamaru, am I making myself clear?h she whispered into his ear.

The Uchiha swallowed hard and nodded at her threat.

gSasukec are you alright, you seem a bit paler than usual?h Naruto asked as the raven was released from the HokageLs tight hug.

gILm fine Dobec will there be anything else Hokage-sama?h He wasnLt going to show that her threat scared himc as he knew that she would castrate him if she thought that the Uchiha mistreated her gaki.

gYes in fact there is one last thing. The rookie nine and a few others including myself will be over in about an hour to help you to pack. ItLs not that we want you to leavec but if that is what you really want weLre here to help you out. We are your friends and family after all.h She said with a smile. gAnd now get the hell out of here so I get finish my work before I meet up with you at the Uchiha compound.h

As Sasuke and Naruto returned to the Uchiha compound the main house was buzzing with life.

The rookie nine as well as Iruka and Kakashi were wrapping and packing all of the UchihaLs belongings and stuffed it into boxes of various sizes.

There were boxes, bobble wrap and people all over the house as all of the male nin were packing while the konoichi were ordering the men around while making sandwiches as it was nearly noon.

gOi where do you want these scrolls Sasuke-kun?h Iruka asked while pointing at several boxes with different titles written on them.

gAdd them to the boxes with the kanji L”½‹¿Žº/ima` (living-room) on it. Come Naruto, letLs pack down the things upstairs.h

gWhy donLt you two grab something to eat and then pack up your place?h

gSurec Oi, weLll pack up the bedroom ourselves ne,h the blonde grinned as he grabbed a few sandwiches from Hinata and left the house with the Uchiha by his side to go directly to NarutoLs apartment down town.

Deidara felt a surge of power as Tobi inserted the demonic soul of the Shichibi in his chest. The demon was forced to merge with the artist immediately which gave the blonde full control of the demons impressive earth power.

gWhat now?h Sasori asked as he held the exhausted blonde against his hard chest.

gNow we wait till Naruto-kun and my kid brother return to the Sound and then weLll be ready to rule the world.h Itachi said with a smirk.

gAre you sure that this is all you want to bring along?h Sasuke asked after he had helped his lover to seal NarutoLs clothes, scrolls, books and a few personal items in five scrolls.

gYup. I want to bring my plants but other than thatc nothing.h The blonde said as he looked around the small apartment. gILve never really spend a lot of time here anyway. I used to train all the time or take as many missions as possible before I traveled around the world to find you Teme.h

gHn,h Sasuke pushed Naruto up against the wall and kissed him. gI guess we should go then,h

gI guess we could take a break while the others are preoccupied at my place; doing all the work for us,h the Uchiha said with a smirk on his face. He untied NarutoLs obi, opened the gi and slid his hands beneath NarutoLs grey fishnet shirt; feeling the heat from the blondeLs toned body.

Naruto purred as he let the gi slide of his arms and drop to the floor before he dragged his shirt over his head and tossed it to the ground.

gThis way SasLke,h the half demon hummed while dragging the Uchiha by his sleeve towards the small bedroom.

Sasuke undid his obi and shed both the white gi and his shirt as he watched Naruto remove his pants and boxers; leaving the blonde butt naked in front of the pale-skinned Uchiha.

gClothes offc I want you inside of me now Teme,h Naruto purred. He crawled onto the bed and sucked on his fingers with the intention to prepare himself.

The Uchiha found it hard to concentrate on stripping out of his remaining clothes as he watched the blonde stretch himself. It made him hard as a rock to hear the moans which escaped from NarutoLs throat as tanned fingers moved in and out of that tight hole to ease SasukeLs approaching intrusion.

gTeme!h the blonde whined as those busy fingers were removed from the blondeLs tightness. gClothes offcnow.h

gc What are you up to SasLke?h the blonde chuckled as he looked as the UchihaLs sly grin.

gWhy donLt I just show you what I have in mindc you see I stumbled across something as I packed my parents stuff into boxes earlierc and I think it would look great on you Aijin, and it would definitely show everyone that your ass belongs to me.h

Iruka let out a relieved sigh as the last boxes were finally added to the growing pile in the UchihaLs living-room. Everything except the master bedroom and a few necessities in the bathroom had been packed into labeled boxes.

Furniture had already been wrapped up in bubble wrap and had been collected in the living-room as well; ready for the movers to pick it up in the morning.

The girls had cleaned the entire house and had talked everyone into taking the moving couple out for dinner and drinks so that they didnLt have to stay in a nearly empty house and get bored.

They wanted to give Naruto and Sasuke a night to remember before they left in the morning.

gWhere are we going?h Chouji asked Ino.

gTo IchirakuLs. We rented the whole place and Ichiraku has already asked Kisu-kun from the BBQ restaurant to stop by with some BBQ for those who prefers something else than sushi, miso and ramen,h Ino told her boyfriend before she kissed him on his painted cheek.

gIno-koi youLre the best.h The Akimichi chuckled as he hugged his beloved girlfriend.

gHi guys, you look cozy,h Naruto chuckled as he and Sasuke entered the house.

gc You packed everything down this quickly?h the Uchiha asked. He and Naruto had only been gone for about three hours, so they must have been working without having to many breaks to be able to pack all his stuff down this quickly.

gWell Iruka-sensei is a talented supervisor,h Ino chuckled. gHe spilt us up and told us what to do and we were done in no time.h

gDivide and conquer,h the Uchiha muttered as he left the blonde and their friends to find Iruka to thank him for a job well done.

gNarutoc what happened to your ears?h Chouji asked while pointing at the blondeLs newly pierced earlobes.

gOh my Naruto-kun, does this mean that you and the Uchiha are engaged?h Ino squealed which made the rest of the rookie nine, the Hokage, Gaara and Kakashi to rush towards their position to see what was going on.

gNarutoc your ears,h Sakura stepped closer and touched on of the red and white fans which hung from NarutoLs lobesL to get a better look.

gSo he found a way to mark you as his ne Niisan,h she chuckled. Sakura knew how possessive Sasuke was and that it annoyed him not to be able to leave a mark on the blondeLs skinc like Naruto had marked him as his mate.

gNaruto my manc are you sure that you want to let anyone know that youLre the UchihaLs bitch?h Kiba teased.

gHeLs not my bitch Inuzuka! He is my mate like I am NarutoLs. We have already ordered a matching pair with our combined insignia which I want one of you to deliver to us when you stop by to visit us at the Sound,h the Uchiha told them with a smirk. gThe Sound and Konoha will be allies and our doors will always be open for all of you.h

gAwww Sasuke-kun that was sweet.h Kakashi chuckled. gNow letLs go out and celebrate and remember that we wonLt lose two treasured friends as you will always be a part of ours hearts but that we will gain a powerful allied nation under the leadership of two great shinobi and my former students.h

They went out and partied till the break of dawn. Everyone had a lot of fun and even Sasuke laughed as Jiraiya told embarrassing stories about Naruto when he was a cooing baby and had peed all over Kakashi the first time the copy-nin had held the boy.

Naruto chuckled as well as he had been too young to remember the incident himselfc the only one who seemed the blush was Kakashi while Iruka laughed till the tears welled up in his brown eyes.

They talked about the past a lot, about their lives before Orochimaru had entered their lives and f***ed things up.

Sasuke and Gaara decided finally acknowledged each other with a little help from Neji and Naruto and they decided that Suna and Oto would benefit from an alliance. The two men ended up talking about politics and found out that they had a lot in common.

Neji and Naruto talked about the HyuugaLs relationship with Gaara. Naruto suggested that Neji should ask Baa-chan to become an ambassador for Konoha.

This would force Tsunade to station the Hyuuga at Suna for at least ten months each year and would give Temari the opportunity to stay just as long in Konoha as she could fill out NejiLs place at the leafc and stay with her beloved lazy ass nin Shikamaru.

Kiba ended up so drunk that he told everyone that he intended to marry Hinata who confessed that she was pregnant. This news made Neji force Kiba to propose to Hinata while everyone cheered him on. The blushing girl accepted right away which made Neji buy everyone a drink to celebrate his cousinfs engagement.

Encouraged by KibaLs proposal a somewhat drunk Sasuke asked for everyonefs attention.

g Dear friends and family figures,h the Uchiha slurred slightly as he had dragged his Dobe into the center of the cozy restaurant. gI know that I have made many mistakes in the pastc many that I am not proud of. I know now that leaving my home, my friendsc and Naruto behind was the dumbest thing I have ever done.h

He knelt down in front of the red-streaked blonde and everyone held their breath.

I love you with all my heartc I know I canLt give you children because we are both malesc but know this, I will do all I can to make you happy. Everyone bit their lower lip and whipped away the tears from their eyes at the UchihaLs emotional confession of love and affection.

Iruka was cuddling against Kakashi who had removed his mask to be able to press his lips lovingly against his dolphinfs ear and whisper sweet promises into the teachers brown locks.

gI do Sasuke. I love youc I would be honored to rule the Sound at your sidec as your spouse.h

The leaf shinobi, Ichiraku, Ayame and the B-B-Q owner cheered as they would soon attend to two weddings; one at the leaf and one at Oto-gakure.

Tsunade and Jiraiya just looked at each other and decided that everything was better off this way. The toad-nin wrapped an arm around the Hokage and dragged her closer as Ayame served them another drink which was on the house this time as Ichiraku; who loved Naruto like a son paid for this drink.

gDo you think that everything will work out right once Sasuke-kun and my gaki moves to Oto-gakure?h Tsunade asked with a hint of concern as he leaned closer to the toad-sanin.

gI donLt know Tsu-chan, but for their sake I hope that everything will work out fine. Both the Uchiha and Naruto are strongc they will make it no matter what or who will cross their path. Say lovec shouldnLt you tell them about the offer you wanted to talk to our two troublemakers about?h

gcYeah, I guess youLre right. ILd better go over and talk to them.h The blonde Hokage chuckled. She kissed Jiraiya softly on the lips before she rose to her feet and made her way through the masses of people who wanted to say a proper goodbye to Naruto and Sasuke before they had to leave in a few hours.

gNarutoc Oi gaki!h

gHi Baa-chan,h the blonde chuckled. Naruto was drunk and so was Sasuke who was currently discussing something about sex, tolerance and affection with Sakura and Lee who had asked the raven about male relationships.

gNarutoc can I have a word with you and your bastard alone?h She asked while dragging the blonde and the Uchiha outside where they stumbled across a passionately kissing Neji and Gaara.

Tsunade hushed the kissing couple inside so that she would be alone with Sasuke and her gaki.

gWhatLs up Baa-chan?h Naruto asked as he wrapped his arms around the drunk Uchiha. Naruto wasnLt as deeply affected by alcohol as the Uchiha as his demonic half turned the alcohol into energy right away.

gDo you want children?h She asked the blonde as the Uchiha seemed to drunk to respond.

gIt would have been nice to have children Baa-chan. We both want our lines to go onc but I guess weLll have to settle with what we have as men donLt get pregnant.h Naruto told her. gWe love each other and I doubt that any of us would be willing to sleep with a girl to get a kidc though kits would be nice. I DonLt think I could bear to share him with anyone Baa-chanc and I would never cheat on Sasuke. I love him so much that I would die for him.h

gI know kid,h Tsunade said as she helped the whiskered man to lower his raven-haired lover to sit down. gThat is why Jiraiya, Shizune, Sakura and I have come up with a possible solution for you twoc Do you want to hear me out though you significant other is drunk?h

Naruto and Sasuke left Konoha-gakure a few hours later.

Most of their friends were still drunk or at least very sleepy as they hugged the happily smiling blonde and the quite drunk Uchiha goodbye with the promise to visit Oto-gakure very soon.

Sakura, Iruka and Tsunade had a hard time to let go of Naruto as they didnLt felt like letting him go even if she knew that their favorite blonde loved Sasuke and vice versac they still felt like their hearts were breaking as Naruto left Konoha for good.

From now on they would only return to Konoha on diplomatic mission or to be a part of the shinobi examsc as a Kage didnLt leave his city unprotected unless there was a very good reason.

She knew that she was going to miss them a lotc it helped a lot that neither of the boysL seemed too sad about leaving; they seemed eager to rebuild a nation that they could call their own from now onc and she decided that she would look forward to travel to the Sound very often from now on.
