~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Tsunade sighed, looking up at the sky no less than a week later. The entire sky was dark, no stars even, save for the full, red moon in the very center of the sky.

"A red moon? How...odd. Sakura-Chan,"

Sakura yawned a little, finally finishing up with the paperwork Tsunade had assigned her. She walked out onto the balcony, standing beside the busty Godiame.

"Hai, Tsunade-Sama?"

"Look at the moon."

Sakura looked up, her emerald eyes widening slightly.

"A red moon? That's a little strange. Wonder what it means...?"

Tsunade shrugged it off, though her sense of forboding was very strong and she sensed something just wasn't right. She looked at Sakura and smiled.

"Why don't you head home, Sakura-Chan? It's late and I'm sure Sasuke-San is waiting for you."

Sakura smiled with a small blush, stretching her arms.

"He's always awake whenever I get home..."

Before Sakura could even finish her sentence, a long, blood-curdling scream could be heard resonating throught Konohagure. It sent birds and bats alike flying from trees and people's heads turning left and right.

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!"

"Oh, dear god..." Tsunade began.

Tsunade went quiet, listening to the screaming as if someone were being murdered. Both girls nearly screamed themselves when Kurenai rushed up the stairs, trying to catch her breath.

"T...Tsun...Tsunade...!"

"Kurenai-Sensei! What's the problem?" Sakura asked.

She tried speaking, but was obviously very winded.

"It's...Hinata-Chan...She's...she's in labor...!"

"WHAT?!"

Both Tsunade and Sakura looked at one another, eyes wide with panic.

"How...!? Hinata-Chan wasn't supposed to deliver for another six or seven months...! She was barely beginning to show...!" Sakura protested.

Before Tsunade and Kurenai could stop Sakura, she leaped off of the balcony, jumping rapidly from rooftop to rooftop until she saw TenTen, dressed in a black night shirt, running in the opposite direction of where Naruto and Hinata lived. TenTen skidded to a stop when she saw Sakura drop down in front of her.

"TenTen-Chan! Is it true?!"

"Sakura-Sama! Hurry, come with me!"

TenTen quickly grabbed Sakura's hands, Sakura herself, noticing how cold and sweaty they felt. TenTen was usually very reserved, but her vitals alone told Sakura there was sometjing very wrong. They arrived at the Lake of the Lost Soul, only to see Hinata laying on her back, sweaty, screaming and moaning as if she were in the worst pain of her life. Naruto, stripped of his jacket to make for some comfort between Hinata and the hard ground, was holding her hand tightly, looking nervous as well.

"Sakura-San! She can't move!"

"S...Sakura...." Hinata barely whimpered.

Sakura hurriedly kneeled down beside Hinata, who was wearing only her light, purple jacket, opened at the front to reveal her black sports bra. TenTen kneeled beside her as well, trying to wipe away her own tears.

"We...we were about to train and then she just fell to her knees and started screaming...Naruto-Kun was nearby, luckily..."

Sakura focused her own medical jutsu, scanning Hinata's body for any abnormalities. Her eyes sprang open.

"Oh, dear god..."

"What?!" Naruto quickly asked.

Sakura swallowed nervously, her hand shaking.

"Hinata-Chan...is in labor..."

Everyone went silent, save for Hinata, who's eyes were wide with panic and fear.

"But...but the baby...! It's not due for...only...six months or so...! How?!"

"Hinata-Chan, remain calm, okay? I'm not sure what is happening, but like it or not, you are about to bring a child into the world. It's odd enough how you're delivering earlier than expected, but you stressing out will only make complications. Relax, Hinata-Chan..." Sakura sighed, rubbing the girl's hands.

Tears began spilling down Hinata's face. Naruto adjusted himself so Hinata's head was resting on his lap. He looked down at the sweating, nervous Hinata who's blue eyes were filled with fear. Naruto forced a grin, despite his nervousness.

"H...hey, atleast we got all the stuff for the baby before hand, right?"

Hinata could only giggle a little at her lover's attempt at humor, but even to move hurt her entire body. Sakura forced off her pants, realizing they were soaked from Hinata's water breaking. Just by looking at her, she could tell this baby was on the way within the next ten minutes. Sakura swallowed nervously and looked around.

"Okay, TenTen-Chan...I want you to go get Sasuke-Kun and round up all of our friends. Hurry!"

TenTen nodded and tore off into the small forest surrounding the lake.

"Hinata-Chan, I know it's hard, but I am going to have to ask you to undress. You as well, Naruto-Kun. Well, in to your boxers atleast."

"WHAT?!" Both blushed.

Sakura nodded, a small blush of her own.

"Hinata-Chan, I know this is going to sound strange, but you are going to deliver this baby in the water. It is the most purest in all of Konoha and..."

Hinata almost went out in a dead faint had it not been for the horrible pain threatening to tear her body apart. After about ten minutes, Hinata and Naruto were both undressed and waist deep in the water. Naruto stood behind Hinata, supporting her as they stood in the very center of the lake, Naruto using his chakra to keep the both of them from sinking within it's depths. Hinata's breathing was getting more and more labored and screamed in pure agony.

"NARUTO-KUUUN! I feel the head....! Oh, kami...make it stop! It hurts so much...!"

Naruto hated seeing his young wife in pain, but what could he do? He watched the tears stream down her cheeks. He didn't hear the rustling of leaves, unaware of the fact that Shikamaru, Temari, TenTen, Kiba, Shino, Shino's mother, Seiko, Sasuke, Neji, Tsunade, Kurenai, Chouji and Ino were present, everyone's eyes wide with amazement and some fear. Sakura hurried over to Tsunade who was standing in front of everyone else.

"Sakura-Chan...how is...?"

Hinata let out a painful scream as her muscles contracted once more.

"Hey...the moon...!" Temari noticed.

Tsunade and Sakura looked up, noticing the moon was directly over the lake, shrouding it in an eerie, red light.

"What the hell is that....?" Ino asked.

Everyone went on full alert when the wind picked up, the entire lake glowing a bright, red color, hiding Naruto and Hinata from sight of their concerned friends. Even Hinata's screams had been silenced. At that point, the ground shook and they watched as a waterspout surged upwards, spiraling directly in the center of the lake where Naruto and Hinata were.

"HINATA-CHAN...!" Temari yelled.

Kurenai held Temari back, grabbing her arm like a vice.

"Temari...don't..."

After twenty minutes of watching this horror, unaware of Hinata and Naruto were alright, the wind slowly died down, the ground, ceased shaking and the geyser surrounding Naruto and Hinata disappeared. Before it fully vanished, a soft wind blew, bringing with it the cries of an infant...Sasuke impulsively discarded his shirt and ran forward until he was knee-deep in the water, his fists balled up and his eyes nervous. The water finally dissipated and the Uchiha watched as the sillouette of Naruto walked towards him, still waist deep in water. Sasuke ran out further until he met Naruto face to face. Both boys were completely naked, save for Sasuke who wore a pair of black boxers and Naruto who wore a vibrant pair of orange sleeping boxers beneath the water's surface. He looked down, see the crying, wiggling baby in his rival/friend's arms. There was a moment of pure silence and tension in the air before Sasuke was overcome with an emotion so strong...it brought tears to his eyes. They flowed into the water, mixing with the tears falling from the Uzamaki boy's. Sasuke slowly reached out his hand, stroking the soft, blonde hair of Naruto's son and in a choked voice, whispered,

"W...Welcome to the world, Hikaru..."

Sasuke put his hands on Naruto's arms, both boys resting their head on the other's shoulders as they leaned forward, making sure not to crush the baby inbetween them. No words were exchanged...just a warm feeling spreading between both Naruto and Sasuke...It was almost unexplainable, but they needed, nor, wanted to explaination for it, both knowing the answer.

The girls hurriedly ran to Hinata who was being lifted out of the water by Koishubi and carried on his back towards land. Sakura quickly grabbed Naruto's jacket and covered her bare body with it before Kurenai picked up Hinata, laying her down on the soft grass by the lake while Tsunade prepared a stretcher and several blankets. By the time Hinata finally opened her eyes a few, anguishing minutes later, she was covered by several blankets and laying on the soft stretcher.

"Hinata-Chan...! Are you okay?" Sakura quickly asked.

Weakly, Hinata nodded, tiredly smiling with a small blush.

"H...Hai, Sakura-Chan. Where...where is my baby?"

Sakura looked up at Naruto and Sasuke as they walked out of the water, over to Hinata. Sasuke kneeled down with a blush as he held the newborn in his arms. Shikamaru handed him a small, soft blanket to wrap the naked baby in, but even after the baby was wrapped up nice and warm, Sasuke continued to hold the baby, staring at it softly: A look no one, not even Sakura, had ever seen him use.

"He's...so beautiful, Hinata-San. Congratulations."

Hinata smiled when Sasuke went to hand her the new baby, but held up her hand.

"Sasuke-Kun...you can hold him a little longer if you want."

Sasuke blushed, looking down at the baby who's eyes were slowly opening, revealing a vibrant blue color. This baby was almost an exact double of Naruto, except unlike his father, he didn't have the fox-whiskers or the sunshape on his belly. His little hands reached up, softly grabbing Sasuke's face and the Uchiha could only blush and, yes, smile. The baby, in return, smiled as well. Shikamaru stood beside Sasuke, looking at the baby.

"Well, well, he's cute. Looks just like Naruto which means he'll be just as troubling."

"OY!" Temari yelled.

Shikamaru was once more on the ground, courtesy of Temari's weapon. The blonde walked over to Naruto and before the baby knew what hit him, he found all of these strange faces looking at him. He could only smile at the attention, however.

"Look at his hands! They're so tiny...!" Ino giggled, taking Hikaru's hand.

"Kawaii...Oh, Hinata-Chan, he's so cute!" TenTen smiled.

"Look at that hair! It's soft and down now, but wait until he turns one! It'll spike just like Naruto-Kun's...!" Kiba grinned.

Sasuke huffed a little, looking the shinobi and kunochi surround him.

"OI! Give us some breathing room. Besides, I think he should be with his mother now."

Everyone saw the reluctance in his eyes when he handed the baby back to Hinata who held the baby close. Hikaru almost instantly sought out her breast to partake in his first meal. Hinata blushed a little, while the boys turned their heads, save for Neji who kneeled down, looking at the baby. He leaned over, kissing Hinata's forehead softly.

"He's so beautiful, Hinata-Chan. I...don't know what to say."

Neji watched as the baby ceased suckling on Hinata only for a moment to look up at the new presence he felt. Neji slowly scooped up Hikaru in his arms and held him close.

"Hikaru-Chan...I promise...I'll protect you."

Hinata could only cry a little, watching as Neji held her son close. Tsunade sighed a little with a smile.

"Imagine...having a completely healthy baby so soon? Oh, Hinata...You must be so exhausted."

Hinata wearily nodded and she looked at Sakura and Kurenai who lifted up both ends of the stretcher.

"Don't worry, we'll take you back to Tsunade's clinic and get you and Hikaru all cleaned up and examined and such."

Neji looked at Hinata before turning to face Naruto who looked very tired, but happy, as well. Neji handed the baby to Naruto who could only smile, trying to bite back the swelling of his heart which threatened to reveal itself in the form of tears.

"Arigato, Neji-Oniisama." he smiled.

Neji blushed, looking at Naruto and nodding.

"You're welcome."

Naruto held his baby close as everyone walked to the clinic. Hours later, Hinata was resting in bed with her sleeping baby in a small crib beside her. While everyone had left, save for Sasuke, Sakura, TenTen, Neji and of course, Naruto, they were all wondering the same thing: Why was the baby born so early? The five sat in Tsunade's office, while Kurenai poured them cups of coffee. Tsunade sat behind her desk, very tired, despite the fact she had no big part in Naruto's baby being born. Neji yawned a little, gently stroking TenTen's head as it laid on his lap as the twosome sat on the soft couch against the way. TenTen was already asleep by that point.

"You think it's maybe because of the mixed chakra within Hikaru that he was born so suddenly?" Naruto asked suddenly, but thoughtfully as he looked at the wooden floor.

Tsunade looked at Naruto who was only adorned in a pair of orange boxers and his orange jacket.

"I do."

"Does this mean the baby will grow fast?" Neji asked.

"I doubt it. When Hikaru grows older, he will just have to learn to harness all of his special chakra is all." Sasuke yawned, taking a gulp of the hot coffee.

He looked down at Sakura who had yet to change out of her normal day clothing as she rested her head against his bare chest. She yawned a little, looking at Tsunade.

"Oh, I never asked...What was that pendant she was wearing around her neck? Hinata-Chan, I mean..."

Tsunade and Kurenai both grew silent, but Tsunade could only sigh.

"A small present from her late mother. She's had it for a few days now."

"It sure is pretty." TenTen yawned, rubbing her eyes.

Naruto sipped his coffee in silence, his thoughts focusing more on Tsunade's story. When he'd asked Hinata where she'd gotten the pendent, she said Tsunade gave it to her. He guessed it could have been given to Tsunade by Shioriko who was holding it for Hinata when the time was right...

"Why don't you all go home and get some sleep. It's been a long night."

Everyone agreed and headed out of Tsunade's office one at a time. After bidding goodnight to Hinata and his new child, Naruto left, accompanied by Sakura and Sasuke who'd stayed behind to hear the announcement from Hinata of them being official godparents, which meant if something were to happen to Naruto and Hinata, Sasuke and Sakura would be given Hikaru to take care of. The two welcomed the honor with open arms, though Sasuke only blushed, trying not to seem more happy than he really was. Sakura knew the second he'd held Hikaru in his arms, there was a bond formed between the two instantly. As Sasuke and Sakura headed home, looking at the red-to-white moon hover over konoha, he grabbed her hand with a small blush.

"Hmm?" Sakura asked, turning to look at him.

His bangs were shadowing his already dark eyes, but she knew his head was slightly lowered.

"Sasuke-Kun...? What's the matter?"

"Sakura...What do you say?"

He raised his head up, revealing a small smile and blush on his face.

"Wanna...have a few of our own?"

Sakura nearly pulled and Hinata and went over in a faint, but when she saw how seriously he was looking at her, she knew she had to the face this reality...Sasuke was ready to be a father and ultimately make her a mother. But...

"Sasuke-Kun...you haven't even officially said we're boyfriend and girlfriend...!"

Sakura looked at the ground, her emerald orbs beginning to fill slightly with tears.

"How can we just go from being...like...lovers to 'father' and 'mother'...? Sasuke-Kun, you haven't even told me that you...!"

She was abruptly cut off when he seized her lips in a passionate, dominating kiss. Sakura clenched her eyes shut, trying to stop her entire body from shaking the way it was. When he broke the kiss, he looked at her, smirking slightly.

"You're so annoying, Sakura."

"What...?"

"I wouldn't do these things if...you know...."

He released her, frustratingly scratching the back of his head.

"....I didn't...feel things for you...So, all I'm saying is that...I...feel things for you enough to wanna have a kid with you."

He glared at Sakura upon hearing her sudden laughter. She wrapped her arms around his own arm and giggled.

"That's so like you, Sasuke-Kun!"

"What's so like me?"

She smiled even more, hugging the life out of his arm.

"Okay, Sasuke-Kun...If you 'feel things for me' enough to have a baby, then I say, we have a baby."

He smiled a little blushing. As they continued to walk, Sakura could only blush.

"Think of any names for a boy or a girl?"

"I thought it was the woman's job to come up with a boy's name?"

"What would make you think...?"

Sakura then smiled a little. Sasuke had been named by his mother. Maybe that's why he thought that. In several ways, Sasuke was just like Sai: They both weren't very adept at living, much less interacting with people, but slowly, Sasuke was beginning to open up.

"Well, if it's a boy...I guess...something like Hatori...?"

Sasuke chuckled.

"Be serious, Sakura. Hatori? It makes him sound old."

Sakura giggled, playfully pinching him. He smiled back at her and shrugged.

"Well, if it's a girl, I want her to have a pretty name."

He looked pensive for a moment before saying,

"What about Hikari? It means..."Light"."

"Hikari Uchiha...Sasuke-Kun...do you really want a girl? Wait a second..."

Sakura grew smug and looked at Sasuke who was doing his best to avert her gaze.

"Hikari sounds a lot like Hikaru....Sasuke-Kuuuuun..."

He huffed and blushed, turning his head.

"So what? That stupid Naruto took the name I wanted to use...But we have to be prepared, dummy."

Sakura smiled, holding onto his arm once more.

"Hikari for a girl it is then. And for a boy...I was thinking of Tsubasa...That way, our children's names all match."

"Huh?"

Sakura looked up at the white moon with a small smile.

"Hikaru is light, Hikari is light, Tsubasa is 'Wings'....I think that's pretty amazing, given that our baby's wings will always be protected by the light given off by Naruto and Hinata's son and the light protecting our future daughter. I think...all of the future children in Konoha will all protect each other one way or another. Even if they are not related by blood, they will all be connected..."

Sakura smiled at Sasuke who seemed a little blown away by how reflective she just was.

"That is my wish for all of our friends in Konoha who bring the future to our hidden village."
