Miki's Story Part 3

Miki Story Part 3

“So when could we make a move? I can’t wait any longer! I want to have him. And I want him now.”

“I also want the other man now. We will have to move up the plan. They must be ours by the end of the month at the latest, or I will go hunting for blood.”

“We need to set a trap – figure whom would be our obstacles – destroy them. Only then, when I have Shikaku and you have Minato, should we be satisfied.”

“Once we have them, let’s share”

“Really? We could?”

“It was like if fate was going in cycles – re-enacting the same situation over and over till the right combination was found. Till it was happy with the results. It was like that for three generations. You boys be careful, now. Don’t catch the eyes of anyone from the mafia….especially the Uchiha and the Hyuga Clan”

Both men looked at each other, lost for words. They really couldn’t say “Too late”, right?

They didn’t know all this half year ago. Beside, they didn’t have a choice, a detective must always investigate a crime, and the Yakuza meant crime. They were only doing their jobs, really.

“Anyway, if I say Madara was obese, it would have been the understatement of the year. He was so paranoid of losing Shikaku senior, that he put up a electric fence after he kidnapped the man from my garden.”

“MY GRANDFATHER WAS KIDNAPPED?”

“Actually, that was not correct. He was blackmailed your grandfather into going with him. It was nothing about love. It was to keep your grandmother meeting a bullet head first. Even when he hated Madara to the bone, he did what he does best, self sacrifice to save the woman he loved. Madara was the type of man he hated most. Cruel, bloodthirsty and childish.”

Minato looked slightly confused “Childish”

“Like most Yakuza, he had the power to get what he wanted and keep it under lock and key. And he does it so often with no one making a beep. He thought man and objects were the same: Possessions. Love to him was a feeling he imagined but what it really was simply put was he must have what he could not have. Even if that means destroying everything in his wake, killed anyone that was no use to him, Yosino was still valuable to keep Shikaku in line. That was till he strangled Shikaku to death out of rage. That was when one toy turned and destroyed everything in her sight. Yosino took all the rage, all the anger, and all the grief as her weapons. It was one moment that her past was revealed.”

Shikaku unconsciously sat up straighter.

“She was not a daughter of a simple farm it seems. That one fateful night, I think we all learnt just how tough she was. She had strategy, intelligence and dangerous knowledge of explosives. That night, was the day that the Uchiha’s Mansion burned bright for five whole hours. It was revenge that did not work. Madara was on a business trip with his son. She was such a wreck, knowing she had killed tens of people without a cause. Two days later, when it really sunk in, she hanged herself. As a matter of fact, I think she was planning to follow her husband to be all along. Come to think about it, that makes perfect sense: she did it after giving birth after all. She waited a few weeks after the funeral to take action.”

Shikaku did not know what to feel, he didn’t even know what to think. He could not believe how cruel his grandmother was to swap one life for ten or more. But then he could also understand the blinding pain of losing a loved one, even more if it was a lover. He shyly glanced at Minato and thought: Would I seek revenge if I lost you? Or would I die in your arms like your father did in my father’s arm?

He knew for sure – Suicide – he could never live without Minato.

“I could not live without you too.” Minato hugged him and added peck on the cheek for good measure.

Shikaku’s cheeks went red. Trust Minato to read his uneasy mind and by showing just a little bit of affection, he made to reassure him.

Yes, that right. He should calm down. He needs all his wits as well as Minato’s support (well, yeah, his intelligence)

“That was why once again I attended another funeral – at that time I was feeling that my whole life was a funeral.”

Just like me at the moment, both men quietly thought.

“I was also touched to tears, when your father, Shikamaru was placed in my arms. They told me to deal with the child before Madara knew about him. I was told clearly Madara was furious and if he knew about the babe….I shudder to think. So I did the one thing that came to mind: send him to the same orphanage as Naruto. As fate or destiny had it, the two grew up joined by the hip. It was as if the two red thread of destiny has entwined and thicken at birth. Their past was linked so was their future. Friendship first then love, even if the love was never meant to be. I actually thought it was great. Two unfortunate kids battling life together. So cute and strong. I was hoping that they would succeed to have a normal life. A wish that never came true.”
