Chapter 24: Family

“What do you want for breakfast, koi?” Asked the Uchiha with slight amusement as he watched Naruto growl as he found out that his favorite jeans didn´t fit anymore.

“Breakfast?! I don´t want food… look at me, I can´t even ft into my pants anymore… damn.”

“You could always just run around naked and stay in our lovely new home.” The raven suggested with a smirk as he walked to stand behind the blonde; hugging him tightly.

“Oh, you wish teme! Damn, I hope that the clothes will fit me tomorrow.”

“They will dobe. Our tormentors are already on the way; I can sense their chakra bursts from the other end of town,” Sasuke nibbled teasingly at the tanned neck.

“Did anyone even tell Iruka, Sakura and Baa-chan that we moved last night?” Naruto mewled as the nibbling turned into wet kisses.

“Hn, I told Kakashi as I ran into him as I picked up the last of our stuff.”

“Do you think he might have forgotten to tell them?” He felt Sasuke´s hands on his hips; playing with the hem of his jeans.

“He might have… We´ll see when they arrive.” The Uchiha dragged the jeans down in one go with a smirk.

“Teme, what do you think you are doing?” Naruto sounded a bit annoyed. He wasn´t in the mood for sex right now because it was the teme´s fault that he couldn´t fit into his pants anymore.

“You need to change into something less restraining, koishii.” Sasuke hummed as he walked to the closet to find something that fit his lover.

“Oh!”

“And you say that I´m a pervert, dobe.” The raven smirked as he handed Naruto a pair of lose blue pants and kissed his lover´s pouting lips. “Get dressed and meet me downstairs… I´ll make you something healthy to eat.”

“K, but no veggies!” The blonde told his lover, who was already descending the staircase.

Naruto and Sasuke was enjoying a quiet breakfast with fresh fruit, bread, milk and a lot of minerals and vitamins in pill form for Naruto and onigiri and tea for Sasuke.

“They are here.” Sasuke sighed as he felt the familiar chakra of the three mother hens as well as Kakashi´s.

“Well, there goes the peace!” Naruto chuckled as he went to open the door for his foster family.

“This really is a nice place!” Ryu told his companion after they had jumped over the tall wall that surrounded the Otokage´s new home. They hid in the shadows as they spied on the people inside the huge house.

“Yes, it is. Fitting for Minato´s heir. But we must not forget why we are here!” The woman told her son.

“How will we approach him?” The young man asked.

“As soon as he´s alone, we´ll make our move.”

Sasuke growled in disapproval as Iruka, Tsunade and Sakura dragged Naruto upstairs while ordering Kakashi to keep the Uchiha downstairs.

“I don´t understand why I can´t see Naruto in his yukata before the weeding?” Sasuke hissed.

He was curios to see how Naruto looked with the Yondaime´s weeding suit – the yukata Namikaze Minato wore to his own weeding with Naruto´s mother. Everyone told him that Naruto looked so much like his father, and it made him happy that Naruto at least had that to remember his father by… but what about his mother?

Sasuke was happy that he got most of his looks from his mother´s side of the Uchiha´s… as he never did like the lines that his father and Itachi had beneath their eyes – it made them look old and tired, he thought.

Sasuke couldn´t remember how Naruto´s mother looked like, he had only been one year old as the Kyuubi had attacked Konoha. He had seen pictures and the stone portrait back in Konoha… but there didn´t seem to exist any pictures of his wife.

What had happen to her? Had she died back then too; killed by the Kyuubi or died after given birth to Naruto?

“It´s tradition, Sasuke-kun!” Kakashi told him.

“… What is?” The raven had been so deeply in his own thoughts that he forgot about his own question.

“The clothes! You´re not allowed to see Naruto in his yukata; means bad luck if you do!” The copy-nin explained.

“Like I care about old superstitions!” The Uchiha growled. “Say Kakashi… what did Naruto´s mother look like?”

“Well, Kushina was an extraordinary woman. And though Naruto has his father´s looks… he still got her eyes, though hers were green. He has her temper, loudness and interest in pranks from her as well as her fighting style. His ability to use the wind element comes from her too.”

“Really? What did she look like?”

“Well, just like Naruto she was quite cute when she was a child… and just like him she turned into a beautiful butterfly as she grew up.”

“… It´s my fiancé you´re talking about, Kakashi, and I´m the only one that is allowed to call Naruto a beautiful butterfly!” The Uchiha said with a hint of jealousy.

“Gomen.” The copy-nin grinned and scratched the back of his head. He was a pervert after all and liked to piss the young Otokage off when it was possible; Sasuke was just too stiff sometimes.

“And you didn´t really answer my question!”

“Yare… yare! I know. Actually I have a picture right here, as I thought that you and Naruto wanted to see it!” Kakashi stuck his hand into his left chest pocket and fished out a small picture with a smiling and very pregnant woman and a grinning man.

“These are Minato and Kushina?”

“Yes, it was taken a week before Naruto´s birth. Looking good together, nee Sasuke?”

“They sure do.”

“Awww, you look so cute in those colors!” The pink-haired cheered and hugged the blonde man.

“You should wear baby blue more often, it goes so well with your eyes… and the orange is only going to be a distraction once you´re Sasuke´s… wife heh… heh. “The medic laughed as Naruto pouted at her.

“I´m not his wife, damn it! We´re equals and we´re both going to be daddies soon!” The blonde stated firmly.

“You really look handsome, Naruto. I´m so happy for both of you.” Iruka patted his foster son on the shoulder with a hint of tears in his brown eyes.

“Blue and black… it´s like your father knew that you were going to marry an Uchiha, brat!” Tsunade grinned. “All you need is the Uchiha fan on your back and it´s perfect.”

“Hmmm. I do look good, don´t I?” Naruto grinned at his image in the mirror. He fished out the blue crystal pendant that he had won from his Baa-chan almost eight years ago.

He wanted it to be visible as he still wore it with pride; it was his symbol of faith. A symbol that said, I´ll never give up and I can do the impossible if my heart is in it.

“Niisan, you´ve head of the traditions of the four things you have to wear for good luck, right?” Sakura asked as she adjusted the blonde man´s sash.

“Yeah… I have to wear something special, that you; my family, brings me.” Naruto answered.

“That´s right, brat!” Tsunade told him. “We have three of the four things already… but we still need something borrowed!” They all smiled warmly at him for calling them his family; they really loved him as he was a beloved family member.

“… Can´t I just borrow something from one of you guys?” Naruto asked. He soon realized that it was a really bad thing to ask, as his friends stated a fierce argument about what Naruto could borrow and from whom!

He rolled his eyes after calling out to them to stop fighting and decided it would be safer for him to just leave them to it. He grabbed his little notebook and a pen and jumped of the balcony and onto the garden.

“Guess I´ll have about an hour in peace to go over my wows one last time!” He chuckled as he walked towards the pond to get a moment for himself.

Watchful eyes followed the blonde man as he walked across the soft green grass towards the beautiful Japanese pond.

“This is it!” The woman said. “Let’s get moving!”

Naruto walked up to the bench in front of the pond that was a part of the beautiful garden that surrounded his and Sasuke´s new home. He already loved it here and knew that it would be the perfect place to raise the twins.

Naruto sat down on the wooden bench by the pond to review his wows; he wanted the words to be perfect… to describe the feeling he had for his Sasuke.

“I want to express my inner most feelings; and I want to tell him how grateful and happy I am that he found me at the wave.” He whispered to himself.

“You really love the Uchiha-heir, don´t you, Uzumaki-sama?” A male voice asked. The blonde fox jumped at the sudden interruption and turned to see who was talking to him.

“I do… Who are you?” Naruto asked the two cloaked frames who stood behind the bench.

“We have been searching for you for years, Naruto-kun.” The other; a female, answered.

“… And what do you want, now that you have found me?” The blonde asked with caution. He didn´t think that they were here to attack him; if they had, they would have by now.

“We would like you to accompany us to the whirlpool nation, Naruto-sama.” The young male said. “We want you to take your rightful place as the daimyo and help us to rebuild our nation; back to what it used to be.”

“…?” Naruto was happy that he was already sitting down or he would most likely have dropped to the ground as his knees went weak. He stared with wide blue eyes as the two in front of him revealed their faces, by taking off their cloaks’.

What the hell were they talking about? He wasn´t the heir to the country of the whirlpool was he? Did that country even exist anymore? Didn´t it perish in a war many years ago during the war?

“Who are you?” Naruto asked as he took in the features of the strangers.

The woman was about forty years old and had the longest and deepest red hair he had ever seen. She was beautiful and looked familiar somehow. She smiled so warmly at him, as if he was a long lost friend or something like that. Her eyes… so clear… so familiar and… was she crying?

The young man; who looked around the same or a bit younger age as Naruto looked a lot like…

´He looks a bit like me or my father.` Naruto found himself thinking as he inspected the younger man.

He was a bit smaller in height than Naruto. He had blonde, unruly hair that had a shade of red and had a haircut much like Naruto´s when he was twelve. He was slender… like Sasuke and he had matching features with the older woman next to him.

“Who are you?” Naruto repeated as he didn´t receive an answer.

“My name is Ryûga… and this is Kushina…Our mother!”

Sasuke was bored beyond his mind. Kakashi had refused to tell more about Naruto´s parents and was now reading in one of his perverted books, as if that was something new.

He walked over to the window and looked out to the garden. Wasn´t that Naruto sitting there on the bench by the pond, reading or writing something? Sasuke looked at his husband-soon –to-be with a soft smile on his lips.

Sasuke really loved Naruto with all his heart and there was no bigger joy than to marry this heavenly being tomorrow.

The Uchiha was about to turn away to see what the others were actually doing, now that Naruto wasn´t with them anymore as he noticed someone approach his dobe from the bushes. He watched with a growing panic how the two strangers talked to Naruto who seemed rather shocked and surprised as both the strangers pulled down their cloaks.

“Kakashi! Hurry up and follow me, something is very wrong!”

“Naruto, Are you alright?” Sasuke and Kakashi materialized themselves next to the stunned fox.
Sasuke wrapped an arm around his blonde while Kakashi approached the two strangers.

“Oh hello Kakashi-kun. Long time no see.” The woman smiled at the copy-nin. “You have grown quite a bit since I last saw you.”

“Kakashi, do you know these people?” Sasuke asked. Naruto didn´t say anything at all, he just stared in disbelief at the strangers.

“I know you.” Kakashi pointed at the female. “But that can´t be… You´re dead!”

“So they lied to you too, Kakashi?” The redhead asked sadly. “They sent an Anbu with a note that stated that my beloved husband and son had been killed as the Kyuubi attacked Konoha. They wouldn´t even let me return for the funeral…They banned me!” Kushina told him.

“Who?” Kakashi asked. “Who banned you, lady Kushina?”

“The Konoha elders! They never liked Minato or our union… they feared him because he wanted to change the old ways… as well as they feared our firstborn son and the child I was carrying… our second son, Ryû!”

“… My… mother?” Naruto stared at Kakashi in disbelief. “And… my… brother?”

“How is this possible?” The Uchiha asked. “And what do you want?”

“We want to save my brother from the ones that are trying to use his powers for their own good. We have searched for my niisan since he fought Zabuza and Haku at the great Naruto bridge… we followed every lead… but somehow we where always two steps behind you.” Ryû explained.

“Naruto is my son and therefore the next in line to take over the leadership of the country of the Whirlpool, which we are rebuilding. We want him to come home where people love him… where he has a family.”

He already has a family!” Sasuke growled. “And he is loved… more than anything in the world!”

“Sasuke is right!” Kakashi said firmly. “He might have had it tough as a young child… but he has made a lot of friends. He has found a family in us and he has finally been united with the one he loves!”

“But he belongs with his real family, he-“

“Enough!” Naruto cut off the redheaded woman who claimed to be his mother. “This is my life and I belong only to myself! I am free to decide what I´ll do with my life. I love Sasuke and I´m happy to bear his children.” The blonde stated firmly, moving closer to Sasuke who possessively wrapped his arms around his soul-mate.

“You may be my mother, but I don´t know you! You can´t expect me to even believe a word you´re saying… I…” Naruto suddenly dropped to his knees as he passed out.

“Naruto?!” Sasuke caught his dobe before he hit the ground.

“What did you do to him?” He growled at the two who claimed to be Naruto´s real family.

“Nothing… we just talked, and what is this about him baring your children?” Kushina asked with concern as she watched the raven walk towards the house with her son in his arms.

“Naruto is pregnant with Sasuke´s twins. I´ll explain it to you later.” Kakashi promised the woman. “We need to get Naruto inside. He has to get to one of our medics!”

Tsunade eyed the redheaded woman with suspicion as Sakura was taking care of the unconscious blonde. She had recognized the woman instantly as the fourths wife and Naruto´s mother. Both the Hokage and Kakashi made sure that the woman and her son was who they claimed to be before they even exchanged another word with the strangers.

“How is it possible that you have survived the attack of the Kyuubi and why do you have another child with Minato?” Kakashi asked with curiosity.

“As Naruto was a week old I had to leave Konoha on a diplomatic mission to my former home country. The Kyuubi attacked the same day I left and as far as I was told… the elder Uchiha Madara told my husband that the demon had slain me.” It almost sounded as if she was going to cry, but she restrained herself and went on.

“He knew that the only way to stop the demon’s attack was to seal it away into a Jinchuuriki. And as he was to sacrifice his own life to seal the demon… he chose our son as the vessel. I was already pregnant with Ryu then, though I didn´t know it till much later.” She sighed sadly.

“I feel into a deep depression and stayed with my clan. I first head of the rumor that Naruto was still alive about eight years ago. Ryu and I want looking for Naruto as soon as he passed his genin exam at the age of twelve (a/n: Naruto was thirteen at that time.)

“So you meet with Tazuna at the Wave and found out that Naruto really was your lost son?” Kakashi asked.

“That is correct; we were surprised as we saw the name of the bridge.” Ryû told them.

“I didn´t believe it at first… but then I heard about a whisker-marked boy who had won a fight with Sabaku no Gaara; the vessel of the one-tailed Shukaku.” Kushina told them.

“Then almost two years ago, there was the news from travelers from the east that a brave young man who looked just like the Yondaime was fighting the Akatsuki… because he wanted to free his best friend from the claws of darkness… and then… the trail just stopped.” She sighed.

“Till we heard the rumor that Naruto might be here at the Sound; lured here and was held against his will.” Ryû added.

“As you see he´s not being forced to do anything he doesn´t want to.” Sasuke hissed. He was worried about Naruto and the twins – what had happen to his beloved fox?

“Yes, we know that now, Uchiha!” Kushina said with a hint of anger. “But he is my son. I love both of my children. You are going to be a father, I´m just trying to protect my child you should know how I feel. I lost him once… I don´t want to lose him again.”

“Naruto is my light… I will not let you take him away from me!”

“I like to hear that, teme!” Everyone turned their attention to the blonde man who had just entered the room; his arm around Iruka´s shoulder for support. Sakura entered the room behind them.

“Naruto!” Sasuke rushed to his lover and took Iruka´s place. “How do you feel?”

“I´m fine…” Naruto smiled softly at his Uchiha.

“It was all too much excitement for him.” Sakura told them. “The up coming wedding, the sudden appearance of his… relatives… and the pregnancy. He needs rest and no more surprises if he is to be married to Sasuke tomorrow!”

“I´m sorry.” Kushina said softly. “We didn´t know about the twins. Kakashi explained it to us and of course we won´t never force you to go… We just wanted to make sure that you were happy… one way or the other. I guess you´re happy here, with your friends and-“

The front door was nearly kicked in as Gaara and Kira made their entry along with all the other visiting Konoha and Suna nins.

“Who dares to attack our Naruto?” Kira and Gaara growled in unison.

Kiba and Kankurou, who had been almost invisible since they got together spotted the stunned strangers and approached them; ready to fight them with all their might.

Temari and Shikamaru took in the whole situation with some calmness though they both cared greatly about their blonde friend.

Neji and Hinata had already activated their Byakugan while Shino, Lee, Ino and Ten-Ten were struggling to get inside as Chouji blocked the doorway with his enlargement jutsu.

“Easy now.” Tsunade ordered everyone to calm down as she saw the somewhat terrified look on Kushina and Ryu´s faces – they were scared, but who could blame them. The mob looked as if they would have torn everyone apart that would have dared to harm a hair on Naruto´s head.

“Friends, may I present my birthmother Uzumaki Kushina and my younger brother Ryu.”
