OMG!! Babies!!
Gaara covered his face as the hospital door opened. He hadn't seen the twins yet,
and the nerves of seeing something he was so close to were killing him. A small
burping "gaaaah!!" and the red head uncovered his eyes. The nurse smiled fakely
as she pushed the babies onto the tired nin and left. Gaara glared at the door, as if
it would dissolve and then looked at the bundles in his arms. Patches of red and
black looked up at him, mystified. Gaara giggled as his long hair was yanked and
nibbled on.
"You guys are just like your father... Except, this doesn't feel as good..."
The weird giggles that sprouted made Gaara crack up. No one had laughed at his
jokes before. He sat up and set the red head on his back as he examined the raven
haired baby girl. Her eyes shined with admiration, a steely onyx barely visible. the
small nose was turned up and her lips were pouty and puffed from crying.
"Hey there my little Maiko chan..."
The small gurgle made Gaara smile as he picked up the other bundle, setting Maiko
down. Red hair and Green eyes greeted him in all their bright fury. He thanked the gods
that the eyebrow gene had been weakened and kept on doing his inspection. A up turned
nose and high cheek bones. Gaara smiled as he blew into the babe's face, making it squirm.
"Mamoru chan, you better make sure your sister is protected, alright?"
He poked the small nose as he set the bundle down. A knock made him look up. Lee was grinning
at him from ear to ear, eyes shining. Gaara stretched out his arms and held the man of his dreams
in them, the bundles wriggling for attention. Lee picked them up and sat next to Gaara. The red head
spoke quietly.
"Keep an eye on them Lee. I don't want any tests done, no one near them. Protect them ok?"
Lee nodded and then both parents settled in to watch the babies wriggle, laughing
at the disoriented faces the made.
