‘The Scarf’ had been a gift from their first Christmas together. It was important and cherished, besides it was long. It also look good on him, Iruka had said so and he was personally convinced it looked even better all by itself. Kakashi perched himself on Iruka’s desk and tied it around his neck. He wrapped it, deliberately covering his face with it before draping the ends down to discretely cover the rest of Iruka’s gift. Then he leaned back on his hands stared at the clock. Five minutes... maybe less and Iruka would be back from his teacher in-service meeting to finish grading papers. He wondered vaguely if it counted as re-gifting but hoped at the very least Iruka would appreciate his way of appreciating the gift.
