They're Not Gonna Get Us

A/N:Back again folks. Hope you like this chapter as much as you liked the first two. Included within the regular story will be song lyrics... From the song "Waking Up" by Julien-K... I don't own the song nor the characters here... So yeah

Chapter 3: Taking a Stand

Waking up, Breaking out

The wall encapsulated Sasuke, as his eyes traced the lines among it. His mind drifted back to the ANBU that desperately searched for him in the woods. And now Naruto was their new target. He frowned at that thought, as other things started to cross his mind. What if we just stop running for a little while. He thought, as he looked over at Naruto, who started to stir a bit. I mean, both me and Naruto seem to be strong together, why not?

Although he agreed with that, he was angry. Angry that Naruto had jepordized himself by saving him. He never wanted to drag Naruto into all of this, since this was his battle. As if Naruto read his mind with his waking notions, the blonde spoke up. "It is our battle now, Sasuke..." He muttered to him, as his eyes opened slightly. He had startled Sasuke, who moved his head away from Naruto's shoulder and blushed. The blonde could only chuckle at him. "Don't worry, Sasuke... We'll be safe."

This is what it means to be free

As the Uchiha boy twitched a bit, as the wound on his side ached from the sudden movement. Naruto caught the twitch, as he faced Sasuke. "What is wrong, dude?" Sasuke frowned, shaking his head.

"Nothing is wrong, dobe. I just am a bit tired from all this running." Naruto chuckled at him, before standing up wearily.

"Then why don't we fight?" The blonde retorted to him, with a wry smile on his face. Brushing himself off, he looked at the rock door hiding them. "I mean, I've already killed one of them, and I'm guessing you have too, so.. why don't we just battle them?"

Rip it up, tear it down.

Sasuke sighed as he looked at the smaller ninja. "You want us to go against all of those ANBU?" Yet he didn't want to reveal to Naruto that he was planning on doing it, with or without the blonde's help. Naruto only nodded as he held out a fist.

"Believe it! We will win!" His old motto that Sasuke used to cringe at, now seemed only helpful. His spirit was risen by the little ninja, as he ruffled Naruto's hair.

"Then dobe, let's come up with a plan." He said back to the blonde who just tilted his head with a chuckle.

"Alright, why don't we..."

This is what it means to be free

~~~~Time Skip (3 Hours)~~~~

Both ninjas had what they needed to find a way to trick the ANBU. Looking at the rock door, Sasuke just smirked as he punched it with his fist, letting it shatter and echo throughout the forest. "Surely they heard that, ne Dobe?"

Naruto nodded as he looked at Sasuke. He couldn't help but just take in the magnificence of the man he was helping. This is why I wanted to help. Naruto thought as he chuckled. Something about Sasuke now, seemed to attract the blonde, making him want the black-haired man even more than before.

Jet sounds a distant roar behind you

Just as the Uchiha had predicted, he heard the rustle of leaves that came from all directions. The ANBU were finally going to see the duo and attempt to capture them. As they arrived, they stared in disbelief as both renegade ninjas were staring them down.

"What is it with you two? Hvae you finally decided to give up?" The main man in the masks asked them.

Sasuke gave a defiant laugh as he held his position. "On the contrary, we are here to fight you and make you leave us along for now!" Concentrating his chakra together, he closed his eyes and began to make seals. "I am no longer that weak ninja I was a long time ago!"

As you try to clear your head

"Fireball Jutsu!" His hands clamped near his mouth as he shot out a large and blazing fire towarsd one of the men, who tried to dodge, but was hit as the fire arched back. Sasuke smirked as the man became ablaze, still wondering how the fire arched back. "As I said.. I'm no longer that weak ninja! And I am not a TRAITOR!" He screamed as he started to do more handseals.

The blonde blinked at Sasuke, registering what he had just done. ANOTHER MURDER!? He thought, before he sighed. He started to tap into the Kyuubi's energy deep inside of him as he let himself get into the brawl. "And I am not going to let anyone hurt Sasuke!" His body became surrounded by a red aura as he morphed into the Kyuubi partially. "I will murder you all if I must!" He launched himself at the man infront of him, who was still stunned at the flaming ANBU member running around. A punch to the right side of the face, Naruto let his fists do the talking, whie the man tried to defend himself. Hands tried to block the multitude of hits and kicks that Naruto managed, but most had gotten through. Flying backwards into a tree, the man fell down to the ground, his face bruised up, along with his body.

THe remaining five ANBU members, including the leader, stared in awe. There was nothing in the records about these two being as strong as they were. "Attack them all at once!" He screamed at his fellow members, making them snap out of the daze they were in. Thre of them launched themselves at Naruto, who was held back by them all. "That's right.. keep him held, I'll deal with this one!" He looked at Sasuke with a grin on his face. "You learned how to channel that chakra of yours into the attack so much you can control the fire." His hands moved as fast as Sasuke's, letting it be known that he had a few tricks up his sleeve.

You start to look and answers find you

"SASUKE!" Naruto growled as his chakra started to move around from his body, wrapping itself around the three ANBU members that were holding him. "I WON'T LET YOU DIE!" He felt as though his heart was breaking, but he let something slip from his lips. "BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!"

Everyone stopped and stared at Naruto, who was still struggling, his chakra had found the opportunity to constrict the men that were holdign him. They began to let go just enough that Naruto through them all over his shoulder.

Sasuke stopped in mid seal, as he stared at Naruto. He..loves me... It all clicked in his mind. The reason why Naruto wouldn't leave him alone. And the reason he always picked on Sasuke and tried to compete with him. Yet he felt he could worry abotu that later. "Dragon Blast Jutsu!" His whole body was covered in flames as he charged the main ANBU man, who had finished his own seals.

"Darkness Containment Jutsu!" His hands started to grow black as they held themselves in front of him, catching the multiple blows that Sasuke was tossing at him, with flaming arms. Angered by this, Sasuke stopped punching for one moment, as he jumped up and dived down to kick theman in the head, letting it connect. The main ANBU man blinked as he fell backwards and onto the ground, Sasuke standing now on his neck.

"Leave us alone, or die." His onyx eyes started to turn blood red as he looked at the ANBU member. Death reflected back as the man stared deeply within the eyes.

Your inner purpose lies ahead

He could only gasp out a stop command to his fellow comrades who were being beaten to a pulp by Naruto. Sasuke smirked at him, as he lifted his foot. "Stay away from us. We are not traitors. We are just on our own now." He looked at Naruto, who was ready to punch an unconscious man in the face, and told him to stop. "Naruto, let's go."

Dropping the man, he tried to calm himself down. Yet it wasn't working for him. The blonde was still half Kyuubi as he continued to walk with Sasuke, bloodlust in his eyes. He didn't understand why, until he realized what he had said before. Blushing intensely, he looked at Sasuke's moving body, entranced by it slightly. "S-Sasuke..."

The black-haired man turned around and looked at Naruto, noting that he was still in attack mode. "What is it Naruto?"

"About what I said..." He looked down, confused and embarrassed. "I can understand if.."

Sasuke chuckled at Naruto, his eyes flashing back to their onyx normality. "Don't worry about it, Naruto." A smirk crossed his face. "Because... right now we need to get far away from here."

One step to calm the storm inside you

Naruto sighed, as the blush stayed with him, but as he continued to walk, and look at Sasuke's swaying body in front of him, he started to feel himself change back to normal, slowly but surely. The fire inside of him now was no longer of hatred and anger, it was love.

Though he did have feelings for Sasuke, he always attributed it with being stuck with him twenty-four seven, but now, those feelings were stronger than they were before. He couldn't hide it anymore, but it was sort of a surprise when he yelled it out in the fight they just had.

"So, Sasuke.. where are we going?" Naruto asked quietly, trying to keep the other topic out of both of their heads.

"To someplace secret. Not even the ANBU know of it. It's my old home." His face was hidden in the shadows as the sun started to set behind them. "Where my parents were murdered. I doubt that they would look there."

The blonde couldn't help but feel coldness radiate from Sasuke's body and words. They stabbed him in the heart, as if Sasuke didn't care anymore for Naruto. But that wasn't the case. In his own mind, Sasuke was conflicted with the same thing. He had feelings for Naruto and such, but they never did come out. Until earlier this morning with the kiss. He had thought that Naruto looked cute when he slept against the wall, and slightly pleased that it was Naruto who saved him and not Sakura.

Unlock the secrets in your head

Thoughts of how Naruto was always there when he needed help crossed his mind, along with all the memories of when he saved Naruto from certain danger. All of that made him chuckle a bit. Had he realized it any time before, he might have hated himself, but because it was now, when both had to rely on each other to survive, it felt right.

The woods passed them by, walking constantly for a few hours, both boys felt as though they would collapse, but they strove harder. Naruto constantly kept himself close to Sasuke as they walked in the direction of the old cabin. It was only another hour away, when Sasuke chuckled. "Here we are, Naruto."

The blonde looked at the building. It was in very much disrepair, and on the verge of collapsing. "We're going to hide out here?" He asked. The black-haired ninja nodded.

"It needs a little work, but it'll be fine."

Not another day- no more- confusion

Both boys walked into the cabin, though Naruto was a bit nervous at doing that. He didn't know how Sasuke would react to coming back to the place where his parents were murdered.

Yet it seemed that the Uchiha had gotten over that since they were Gennin. The only thing that the blonde coould see on Sasuke's face was a smile. "I beleive we are home for a while. At least until I can find a way to clear your name." He looked at Naruto, smiling.

The blonde frowned and held his hands togehter. "But if I'm free, I'm still going to go and follow you, whether I am caught or not and have to become on the run again. I want to keep you safe Sasuke, since you are all out here by yourself." He thought back for a moment. "Hey.. isn't this place near Konoha Village?" He questioned.

Sasuke nodded, though he was a bit worried. "WHy do you ask, Naruto?"

"Because I can have Sakura help us with some stuff, like getting you new clothes and such. And Kakashi will definitely know what to do now.

No more living like we're dead

"But that would jepordize our safety here!" Sasuke yelled at Naruto. "Dobe, you know we can't have anyone know where we are."

Naruto chuckled as he held a hand seal. "Transformation Jutsu!" With a puff of smoke, his body had morphed to that of Kakashi-sensei. "You see, I can sneak around like him to get both of their helps, just changing between Sakura-chan and Kakashi-sensei." He snickered as his hand rubbed the back of his head. Another puff of smoke and he changed back to the normal form.

"Dobe, you really are stupid." He sighed. "ANBU will be all over Konoha because of what you did!" He looked to the side. "And well, I don't think it would be safe for you." A blush crossed his face. "I don't want you hurt either.

The blonde smirked as he walked over to Sasuke. "I know you do, which is why I won't get hurt." He kissed him on the cheek, before he turned around, blushing. "I'm going to go for some supplies, alright?" He said to Sasuke before he disappeared out the door.

Sasuke sighed as he blushed. Looking at an old chair, he remembered back to the deaths in here, but that was what was bothering him. It was the conflicting feelings towards Naruto that made him this way. Just as he started to thnk about that, a jolt of pain hit his side, the one that was open slightly. Lifting up his shirt, he took a look at it, noticing that it may have grown smaller, but it started to look green.

"I can't let Naruto know of this."

It seems its just out of sight
The ones with answers always get their way
But I think they should know
That I'm coming for them now
