Chapter Three: Disaster Strikes
Captain Yamato sat in his position concentrating on keeping Kyuubi under control. When the two were waiting an earthquake suddenly erupted and the epicenter came from the tree.
“Captain Yamato what is going on”, said Sakura looking at Yamato. When she looked at the Captain he was struggling and was about to collapse. “Captain … Captain … what is going on Captain Yamato can you hear me” said Sakura.
“I’m sorry I can’t control it any longer Kyuubi is about to fully emerge with all nine…” An explosion sounded through everywhere and the tree in which their team went into was no longer there and in the smoke from the fallen tree there stood at a height of nearly 30 feet and in its fullest and finest glory was Kyuubi with all nine of its tails.
“How can this be possible how can Naruto have let the Kyuubi out I thought he had only had four of his tails that emerged” said Sakura
“I don’t know but I do know this throughout the battle the Kyuubi’s chakra had been given to Naruto and every time Naruto needed more power another tail emerges and when all nine tails emerge Naruto is no more and the Kyuubi is back in the material world. It has taken all of my strength and chakra in order to give Naruto an edge in keeping Kyuubi’s personality and abilities suppressed. Now the Kyuubi is in his prime form and Naruto is gone. I’m sorry Sakura I did the best I can”.
The Kyuubi then left the area and in the rubble of the fallen tree came Kakashi and two bodies each draped over each of his shoulders. One of which Sakura had noticed was Sai and the other was what she could tell was Sasuke’s. Sakura then ran up to Kakashi when he laid the two of them down on the ground. Sakura first examined Sai who she could see was in the worst shape and began to use her medical ninjutsu in order to heal Sai’s body. After she was done healing all of his life threatening injuries she immediately moved on to Sasuke who at the looks at it was in a very good shape despite being unconscious. “Kakashi-sensai what happened in there we saw the Kyuubi destroy the tree and leave but what happened to everyone”.
Kakashi said, “During the fight between Naruto and Sasuke, Orichimaru stepped in and it forced Naruto to draw upon the Kyuubi inside of him and the result was that the Kyuubi’s tails came out at an increased rate and before long all nine tails emerged almost at once. By the time the last tail emerged Naruto’s power increased exponentially and Orichimaru got in the way and he was destroyed by the Kyuubi in no time at all. What surprised me was the restraint at which he attacked Sasuke if it had been anyone else that person would not have survived but I think that because it was Sasuke, Naruto had a hand in not killing him”.
The four then left for the Fire country and Konoha. After they arrived in the Leaf Village they brought Sauske to the Hokage for interrogation and informed her of what had transpired. The Hokage’s reaction to the news deeply disturbed her to the point she would leave the village. The only good thing that had happened was that Orichimaru had been destroyed and Sasuke Uchiha had been returned to Konoha. “There is nothing more to be done until we can get reports on the whereabouts of the Kyuubi. Until then extra security is needed for all teams with genin.”
“Excuse me Hokage-sama but what about Sasuke-kun what will become of him” said Sakura.
“Sasuke will be kept here for observation and only top ranked Shinobi will be allowed to see him or talk to him. Sakura you will not be allowed to see him until I am satisfied…Am I clear Sakura.”
“Yes, Hokage-sama” said everyone in unison.
“Good now leave I have much work to do”.
