The Inexistant Yesterday
Artemis: Wow! So many reviews. I'm so glad you guys like this story. ^_^ Personally, I'm tired of all the angsty Sasunaru stuff out there. Yes, Sasuke betrayed everyone and left with the Sound. That's nice...but I didn't come to read about that, I came to read about Sasuke and Naruto getting it on!! XD
Ok...call my a fluff lover. Anyways. By the way, I did state in the first chapter that the beginning of this story is influence a lot by Pita-Ten, a manga my sister had. But only the first two volumes, cause I glanced over those and got this idea.
Reviewer responses are at the end of this story, right after the short dictionary of terms I'm going to place in case anyone is lost by a few of the words used in this story. ^_^ K!
One last thing, I updated this quickly cause I already had the first three chapters written up. I promise to update as quick as I can, but I'm in college so I'll have to work around my schedule. So don't get discouraged. I'll do my best. ^_^

Chapter Two: The Inexistant Yesterday
Sasuke had never told anyone but his mother about the things he saw. When he had been little, those things would scare him so much. But his mother always told him to not be scared or ashamed, because his ability to see was a gift.
Over the years, he’d grown used to the occasional ghost or demon. He knew where things went when they were supposedly ‘lost’ and he had met things that only folktales of Japan dared to tell the tales of. He’d been to the place under his bed and he’d found where socks went when they disappeared while doing laundry.
But never in his life had he found himself on one of the metal beams of Tokyo Tower itself, hundreds of miles above solid ground and wrapped up in the arms of a blonde that had just appeared out of no where into his life.
Sasuke relaxed in the embrace without realizing he’d done so, feeling almost comforted and content oddly enough, and enjoyed the gentle breeze that swayed his hair and shirt about. Naruto sat calmly, holding him while watching the cars below and humming softly. It was almost perfect. Almost serene. Like heaven…or the warmth of your mother’s love.
Sasuke let out a sigh, his eyes half lidded in his relaxed state, “What are you?”
Naruto turned his gaze from the people below down to the boy in his arms, a smile on his lips, “I told you already, baka Sasuke. I’m Naruto…you’re guardian angel.”
“Guardian…angel…” Sasuke repeated softly, closing his eyes with a slight frown. He wasn’t sure he understood. After all, why would an angel come to him now? After all this time?
“It’s ok. You won’t ever be alone again,” Naruto promised, as if reading the other’s mind. He hugged Sasuke more tightly to him, resting his face in the crook of Sasuke’s neck thus enveloping the other completely in his warmth.
Sasuke felt his conscious slipping away in the unfamiliar action, but didn’t fight it. He felt tired all of a sudden and safe oddly enough. He wasn’t afraid to fall asleep in this stranger’s arms. So he did just that, and for once his dreams were peaceful, the nightmares shushed away by a gentle light.
When Sasuke woke up a few hours later, he was in his own bed mat at home with his pjs back on again and the covers only half on him. He would have thought it had all been a dream, but a blonde curled up beside him asleep in the bed drove away that idea.
Sasuke propped himself up on his elbows and looked down at the other. Naruto was in a rather cutesy pajama suit that resembled a kitsune of sorts and was clinging to Sasuke lightly as he slept. Unable to keep from smiling, Sasuke allowed the rare action for a moment before looking around his room trying to register everything going on in his mind.
He was home, Naruto was real, but what about the incident at school? Sasuke looked over at his alarm clock, surprised to see that it was seven in the morning already. Had he slept through the entire day? Damnit…he had mock exams today and he hadn’t studied at all yesterday by the looks of it.
Sighing, he started to get out of bed but the action caused his stalker/angel to tighten his grip on Sasuke. Frowning, Sasuke reached down and tried to free himself from the grip. This caused Naruto to whine and tighten his grip more.
Ok…he wasn’t seeing any progress here.
Sasuke reached into his nightstand and pulled out a crowbar he kept in handy. Never know when a crowbar could be of use while you’re in bed. He slipped it between him and the other and began attempting to pry himself free from the iron grip.
Ok…good feeling gone, annoyance kicking in.
Scowling and being a Uchiha after all, he thus proceeded to whack the blonde on the head with said crowbar.
“WAHH!!!” Naruto cried out sleepily, clutching his now bleeding head painfully. “Sasuke!!! Why’d you hit me!?!”
Sasuke rolled his eyes at the whining blonde and got out of bed, making his way to the bathroom to carry out his usual morning routine.
Naruto whimpered and rubbed his head painfully, now officially awake. “So mean…dumb Sasuke….”
Sitting up, he used a spell to lesson the pain of the bruise before glaring at the crowbar lying there on the sheets. Evil thing of death!
Meanwhile, Sasuke got under the shower and sighed thankfully. He was so glad for hot water in the morning. Letting the water run over his hair, Sasuke enjoyed the peace and quiet. That is…until he was suddenly glomped.
“Hey SASUKE! What’cha doing?” Naruto asked the boy in his hold.
Sasuke blushed from ear to ear and let out a yell, knocking Naruto off him and quickly covering his vitals. “Naruto! What are you doing! Get out, I’m trying to shower!”
Naruto blinked with an innocently confused expression at the fuming, blushing boy, “Shower? What’s that?”
Sasuke blinked incredulously, then scowled, “It’s where you wash yourself to get clean. Now get out!”
“That sounds fun!!!” Naruto grinned hyperly, bouncing on his feet. “I want to shower!”
“F-Fine…you can shower, but only after I’m done,” Sasuke stumbled over his words, thrown off by Naruto’s innocence.
Narutos frowned, “No fair! Why can’t I shower now?”
“Because I’m showering.”
“So?”
Sasuke sighed and turned a bit redder on the cheeks, “Naruto, I’m naked. Now get out.”
“Then I’ll get naked to!” Naruto smiled happily, and before Sasuke could protest he stripped and happily got under the water. “See? Now we’re showering. Isn’t this fun!?”
“Naruto!” Sasuke growled, grabbing out for the blonde in an attempt to forcibly remove the nut from his bathroom if he had to.
Naruto managed to dodge Sasuke’s grip and grabbed the shampoo bottle, staring at it curiously, “Woah! What’s this thing for?”
Sasuke finally grabbed Naruto from behind, but by doing this Naruto became startled and squeezed the bottle, the shampoo suddenly squirting out into Naruto’s wide eyed face.
All hell understandably broke loose.
“AHHHHHHH!!!!!”
“What happened!?!?!”
“MY EYES! SASUKE!!!! IT HURTS!!!” Naruto screamed, flailing about.
Sasuke tried to grab hold of the blinded boy, but it was hard with the other flailing the way he was.
Naruto immediately solved the problem by glomping onto Sasuke, screaming his head off from the pain.
Sasuke turned three shades of bright red and instinctively tried to escape the naked body hugging his, his feet slipping on some of the shampoo on the shower floor. Losing his grip because of the soapy substance, Sasuke lost ground and fell, grabbing hold and taking the shower curtain as well as the blonde with him to the ground.
“WAAAAHHH!!!!!” Naruto continued crying painfully all the way down and afterwards.
Thirty minutes later, Sasuke had them both out of the shower, dried, and dressed, and was carefully helping Naruto wash his eyes with cool water. He was doing his damn best to watch his temper, after all…it wasn’t Naruto’s complete fault and he did feel a little sorry for the blonde. Apparently, angels weren’t that used to physical pain they can’t heal.
“Feel any better?” Sasuke asked with a sigh as Naruto straightened up and dried his face.
Naruto whimpered softly and lowered the towel, nodding his head. He looked at Sasuke worriedly, “Are you ok?”
“I’m fine,” Sasuke sighed, wondering how the other could be worried about him after such a thing happening to him.
“I’m sorry. I messed up bad. I’m supposed to make you happy and protect you…but I got you hurt,” Naruto slumped and hung his head, obviously depressed.
Sasuke sighed again and reached out, awkwardly ruffling Naruto’s hair. “It’s ok. How about we forget about it.”
He turned and headed into the kitchen then, checking his clock to make sure he had enough time to eat before school. Naruto followed after him, smiling happily and obviously having perked up from Sasuke’s small bit of kindness.
Sasuke opened the fridge and looked around inside, frowning when he couldn’t find anything to eat. Closing the door, he ran a hand through his hair with a deep sigh. Great, a sore back from falling on the tub, a headache from Naruto’s screams, and an empty stomach from no food. Great way to start the day.
Naruto looked into the refrigerator with curiosity, finding it empty. “It’s empty.”
“Yeah…no shit,” Sasuke snapped, and then winced. Then he wondered why he cared if he was mean to the other. After all, he had never been nice to anyone. Why was Naruto any different?
“Sasuke…?” Naruto spoke up with a frown.
Sasuke looked at him and sighed. He was different, “Sorry. Looks like we’ll have to eat breakfast at school.”
“Okay!” Naruto smiled cheerfully, glad Sasuke didn’t seem angry with him anymore.
“Um…Naruto…” Sasuke asked, watching as the blonde ran off to get their stuff ready to go. “Are you…going to be living here from now on?”
Naruto looked up from their bags and blinked, then smiled at Sasuke and shook his head. “Of course not silly! I wouldn’t want to intrude.”
Sasuke was going to comment about the intruding thing, but let that slide since Naruto probably wouldn’t understand him anyways. “So…where do you stay?”
Naruto grinned and pulled on his backpack, bouncing to his feet. “Next door! Wanna come see after school is over?”
“Uh….sure…” Sasuke blinked, surprised a bit. No one had lived in the next door apartment since Momochi Zabuza had been busted there for black market affiliation.
“I’ve been unpacking. Wait, I know! We’ll have a party once I’m done settling in!” Naruto grinned hyperly. “We could invite all your friends so I can meet them!”
Sasuke frowned and walked over, pulling on his backpack without commenting. Smiling, Naruto grabbed his hand and interlaced their fingers, swinging their arms as they left the apartment and headed to school. Sasuke was blushing faintly, and trying to pretend like he didn’t give a damn either way. He started to wonder if yesterday at the Tokyo Tower had just been a dream though. Maybe Naruto was simply his new next door neighbor with a stalkers streak that rivaled Sakura and Ino’s.
But for certain, his quite life was out the window…if this morning had been any proof of it.
After walking his usual path to school, Sasuke nodded when he spotted Hinata and Shikamaru hanging around by the tree in front of the school building obviously waiting on him. Stepping up to join them, Sasuke sighed and turned to Shikamaru.
“Did you get yesterday’s science homework?”
Shikamaru looked at him like that was the dumbest question and pushed himself up from the tree, “It was too troublesome to bother with.”
“I…I did…” Hinata spoke up shyly.
Sasuke froze as they turned to head into school, eyes widening in shock. Wait…wasn’t this exactly how’d they’d started school yesterday? Sasuke looked over at Naruto, who looked up at him and smiled oblivious to anything being wrong.
“Oi…you coming?” Shika asked, looking burdened from even having to speak.
“By the way…um…Sasuke-kun,” Hinata blushed deeply, nervously glancing at the blonde by his side. “Who’s your friend?”
“Wha…wait…don’t you know?” Sasuke blinked in total confusion, looking at Naruto again then back at his two friends who did not seem to know.
“Know what?” Hinata asked, eyes widening slightly with worry.
“You know! Yesterday! Sakura and Ino…wings…he……you really don’t remember?” Sasuke blinked, utterly surprised by the blank looks he was getting.
“Troublesome…” Shikamaru sighed, turning and heading into the school building before they were late for class.
“Sorry Sasuke-kun…” Hinata apologized softly, glancing at Naruto again before turning and quickly catching up with Shikamaru.
Sasuke was left standing there utterly confused, wondering if maybe all of yesterday had possibly been some weird dream.
“Oi…Sasuke…shouldn’t we go before we’re late?” Naruto asked, acting confused much like Hinata and Shikamaru had been with Sasuke’s odd question.
Sasuke again looked at Naruto oddly, before nodding dumbly. Naruto rolled his eyes and chuckled, tugging Sasuke to class since the boy seemed a bit slow on the uptake all of a sudden. Sasuke spent much of this time trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Why had Hinata and Shikamaru acted like they’d never met Naruto before? And you’d think after a guy sprouted wings and flew out of a crowded hallway yesterday there would at least be rumors flying around and weird looks sent Naruto’s way. But all they seemed to get was odd looks towards his and Naruto’s interlocked hands.
Sasuke was led to his seat while he stared at the date on the blackboard, unable to believe his eyes. According to that, today was yesterday! How the hell…
Naruto helped Sasuke to his seat with a smile, then took the seat right beside him since Shikamaru had the seat in front of Sasuke and Hinata had the one behind him. Silence rained as Sasuke continued to try and figure out what was going on. No one seemed to act like they remembered what happened yesterday, and even then the chalkboard claimed today was yesterday. It made no sense really. All he could do was keep looking oddly at Naruto, wondering if the blonde had to do with any of this or if maybe he was just losing his mind.
Iruka walked into the classroom, immediately shutting up most of the students and everyone scrambling for their seats. Iruka picked up papers from his desk and did roll call, before looking up and smiling at Naruto. “You’re the new student. Am I right?”
Naruto nodded and got out of his seat, making his way up to the front of the class without hesitation or hint of nervousness. He turned and grinned at the entire class fearlessly, “Hello people! I’m Uzumaki Naruto! I just moved to Konoha yesterday and I’m Sasuke’s new neighbor. Nice to meet cha!”
Iruka and everyone smiled, finding the boy rather cute. Sasuke sweatdropped and looked at everyone like they were crazy. Come on! That was the same thing he’d said before...cept it wasn’t about angel stuff but about neighbor stuff. Yet he seemed to be alone in his paranoia déjà vu attack. Sasuke sunk down into his seat and let his head fall onto his desk like before, again thinking ‘why is it always me?’.
By the time free time came along, Sasuke had gladly taken refuge on the roof with Hinata and Shikamaru. Sometime before that Sakura and Ino had shown up, causing Naruto to let out a terrified shriek and run off, making Sasuke terribly suspicious that though the world seemed to have forgotten the inexistent yesterday, Naruto might not have. Which again made him suspect that the blonde had something to do with all of this.
Standing there watching the kids below through the roof’s fence, Sasuke wondered all of this. Hinata was a few feet away sitting against the wall, braiding different colored strings into some kind of necklace. Shikamaru lay not to far from her in the shadow of the water cooler system, doing his favorite thing in the world, watching clouds.
“SASUKE!!!” Naruto’s voice cut through the otherwise normal feel of the moment. Sasuke expected to be glomped from behind, but wasn’t. Instead, he blinked in confusion and looked down, his eyes widening in surprise.
“NARUTO! What are you doing!?”
Hinata looked up, watching Sasuke help and guide Naruto up and over the fence onto the safe side where the ground of the school roof was. She blushed a little and giggled, amused with Sasuke’s blonde stalker. Shikamaru rolled his eyes and sighed, not bothering to get up and look.
“Sasuke!!” Naruto grinned and glomped the other, making Sasuke blush heavily and lose his balance.
They both toppled to the ground with Naruto on top, nuzzling his captive charge. Sasuke sighed and just lay there, staring up at the sky and the clouds. This is what he got for expecting the blonde to glomp him.
“You’re insane, you know that?” Sasuke stated matter-of-factly. “What were you doing climbing the weather drain?”
“I lost you, baka! Then I saw you up on the roof so I came back to you,” Naruto sighed, closing his eyes and happily enjoying the other’s warmth.
“Dobe! Use the stairs next time,” Sasuke rolled his eyes and finally sat up, bopping Naruto’s head lightly.
Naruto yelped and clutched his head, glaring and pouting at him, “Wha’d you call me!?”
Sasuke grinned evilly, “What? You don’t like being called a dobe?”
“Asshole,” Naruto huffed.
“Idiot,” Sasuke fired back playfully.
“Teme!” Naruto shot back with a fiery glare.
“Usuratonkachi,” Sasuke countered with a smug grin.
Naruto couldn’t think of a come back, so he just glared and puffed his cheeks out in a pout. Sasuke chuckled before he even realized he’d done it and flushed, practically feeling Shikamaru’s eyes on him and the eyebrows shooting up in curiosity. Naruto seemed happy that he’d made Sasuke laugh though and immediately forgot his previous anger at being called a dobe.
“You’ve got a nice laugh, Sasuke,” Naruto informed him, as if explaining his cheerfulness.
“Baka dobe,” Sasuke sighed and dodged the thrown glare, deciding he rather enjoyed the reaction he got out of the other with that nickname.
“Hey lovebirds. I’m heading back,” Shikamaru spoke up as he stood with a sigh, heading towards the stairs back into school.
Sasuke glared at him for that while Naruto just blinked dumbly, not understanding that he’d been insulted there. Hinata stood up and bowed at Sasuke and Naruto, mumbling something about bathroom before class then rushing off. Naruto sighed and smiled happily, not caring as long as Sasuke was near him and safe.
Sasuke found this a perfect opportunity to get some answers. He turned to the other male with narrowed eyes, “All right, Naruto. Talk.”
“Nani?” Naruto blinked, looking curiously at Sasuke. “What do you mean, talk?”
“Dobe…don’t play dumb. Why is today yesterday!? And why doesn’t anyone but me remember it?” Sasuke asked, holding Naruto in place by his arms.
Naruto huffed and glared at him, “Quit calling me dobe! And how should I know?”
“Answer my question and don’t play games. I know you know because why else would you have ran from Sakura and Ino in such a panic?” Sasuke accused, knowing he had the other cornered.
“Uh…...oh…” Naruto looked down at his lap with a small frown. “Well...truth is…this is my first time as a guardian angel. And apparently I wasn’t supposed to tell anybody but you. And showing my wings like that is a big no-no unless there’s absolutely no other choice. Father forgave me though and fixed everything.”
Sasuke blinked, guessing that made some sense. That and Naruto suddenly looked rather vulnerable and…cute. If he was permitted to think so. “Father?”
Naruto looked up at that and smiled a little, nodding, “Yep! Father. You know…the big guy up there.”
“Oh…you mean God, right?” Sasuke relaxed and released Naruto’s arms, looking up at the sky. “…I never much believed there was a God.”
“There is! And he loves everyone, including you…whether you choose to believe in him or not,” Naruto replied, wrapping his arms around Sasuke and hugging him. “He’s been watching you for a long time.”
“That’s hard to believe,” Sasuke sighed and frowned.
“Hn…why?” Naruto pulled back and blinked again, something he did a lot when he was confused.
“If he’s been watching me…why did I just now get a guardian angel,” Sasuke reasoned, turning his gaze back to Naruto’s.
“Hmph…baka Sasuke,” Naruto huffed, then smiled and crossed his arms proudly. “I wanted to be your guardian angel! And Father said I could, but I wasn’t finished with school.”
“Angel’s have school?” Sasuke frowned, but figured angel’s had to learn to fly and stuff somewhere. He then frowned even more as the second thought popped up. “Wait…why did you want to be my guardian angel?”
Naruto hesitated and his eyes widened in surprise, then he frowned and placed a finger to his lips as he looked up. His eyebrows furrowed slightly in deep thought, as he seemed to try and recall the answer to that. “You know…I don’t remember why. I just did…”
Sasuke sighed and sweatdropped, “Dobe…”
“HEY!” Naruto glared angrily and huffed.
Rolling his eyes, Sasuke stood causing Naruto to fall out of his lap onto the ground. “Come on, dobe, or we’ll be late for our next class.”
“I said stop calling me that!” Naruto yelled at him and scrambled to his feet, rushing after Sasuke who’d already started towards the stairs. “Hey! Did you hear me? Sasuke? Sasuke!! You big teme!!”

***Reviewer Responses***
Kinkay D.J. - YEAH!!! My first reviewer, and a nice person to. Thank you so much. And here's a stuffed angel Naruto in kitsune pajamas for you. *hands the prize over* ^^
staletz - yes sir! ma'am! Uhh...yeah... ^_^'
Anon - poor Naruto. I just had to have him panic about the Sakura/Ino ordeal. And it will traumatize him for life. Naruto fits the angel image perfectly. I can keep his personality as well as still make him so cute and blonde. =D
Nyuchan - well, here's more of angel Naruto. you like? ^^
Evans - Wish is a cute story. ^^ Cept in this story Naruto doesn't turn chibi. Though I did consider, and still am, the idea of him changing into a fox pup under the right circumstances. What you think of that idea? ^_^
Me - thank you! ^^ Please don't die. Everytime a fan dies, another Naruto angel loses his wings. 9-9
Anna - You're right. I hope you don't mind. As I stated before and in this chapter, this story was big influence by the first two volumes. But I'm taking it my way as the plot goes along. Naruto is Misha's counterpart, Sasuke is Kantaro's, Shika is the blonde guy's, Hinata is Kantaro's little girl friend's, and later on I'm bringing in Neji and Gaara. But I'm keeping them with their personalities...hopefully. ^_^
Eizzie - poor Sasuke. Always stuck between the fangirl tug-a-wars. ^^
Miko hanyou - That was fun with Sakura and Ino. Hee hee. And Angel Naruto...I wanna draw it. ^_^
