Change for the Better?

I don’t own Naruto... nor Harry Potter

Rated R: Violence, language

(What?)

Naruto looked up towards the blue sky wounding what the exam would have in store for them. He wanted to prove not only him but the villagers as well that he could pass the exam and become the Hokage. The scroll the old man had given him was safely tucked into his shirt where he would open it up as soon as the exams were finished.

“Hy Dobe!” Sasuke shouted. Turning his head Naruto saw that Sasuke was actually waiting for him up ahead.
“Hey I coming Teme.” Naruto shot back running towards the entrance exam for the Chunnins.

Naruto grinned, while he and Sasuke sprinted towards their destination. His fox and Sasuke’s wolf right beside them. Naruto was actually a little nervous. He knew he could do it and pass and he was pretty sure his teammates could also pass. It’s just that he felt that something wasn’t right. It was just a gut feeling like something horrible was going to happen.

Sasuke glanced at his friend and narrowed his eyes. Naruto looked like he was in deep thought, which surprised the Uchiha. Most of the time the Dobe would have been thinking about how he would conquer this challenge and about being the Hokage. But now with the way Naruto sprinted forward with a determined face, it sent shivers down his back. Naruto really did look cute like that, Sasuke mused.

Naruto burst through the door yelling and shouting about what happened with Sasuke quietly walking behind.

“So you both have a secret scroll.” Nina said smiling at them then she turned towards Kyo, “You know if you don’t move faster we will be late for the Chunnin exam.” Nina said towards Kyo who was just putting his things away.
“Yeah well that’s why you love me” Kyo said smirking. He got up and started to head for the door. It seemed that everyone else was already there.

“Oi so what did you name the fox Naruto.” Nina said locking up the door before the small group started to head for the old school building.

“Well I was thinking of naming him sly.” Naruto said.
“Wow the Dobe can actually pick a name.” Sasuke said smirking. He was right beside Nina looking ahead. He could already see some people up ahead.

“Shut up Teme! What did you name the wolf then.” Naruto shot back.
“If you must know I named it shadow.” Sasuke said proudly. Naruto had to snort on that one. He was acting all cool again.
“Alright you two, lets go before we get left behind.” Nina said walking out.

When they got to the gate Naruto had to start weaving in and out off the crowd that was gathering for the Chunnin exams. He was surprised it was already this crowed.
Sasuke looked like he also had been in deep thought and just looking at Sakura you could tell she wanted to meet cute guys. Now Naruto he wanted to see if anyone was prettier then Sakura and Hinata.

“Finally we can go.” Sakura said looking at the late comers. They were only half an hour late, not like Kakashi.

Naruto was going to retort when something caught his eye. Turning he saw a black figure in the middle of the street, now this normally wouldn’t have bothered him. But people seemed to go through the figure in black like he wasn’t even there. Naruto just stared, he narrowed his eyes a little and took a step forward. The figure also turned it’s head and was looking directly at Naruto.

It was such an intense feeling that was flooding his very being that had Naruto take a step back but he couldn’t seem to move. He felt stuck there. Naruto looked around to see if anyone else was like him but he gasped. No one was moving, it was like this thing had frozen time itself.

A red steam started to rise from the figure forming what looked like a small snake. The thing floated a little until it moved closer towards the blonde and Sasuke which happened to be right beside him. It seemed it was waiting for something. Naruto blinked once then twice trying to figure this out. Everyone was frozen and there was a red snake in front of his FACE!
Without thinking he reached out his hand catching the thing in his palm. When he opened his hand up the thing was gone. Naruto just shock his head looking back from the dark figure only to fell something on his arm. It was like a needle had just poked his right arm. Then another until his arm started stinging.
“What the hell.” Naruto said pulling up his shirt sleeve to see the red snake was actually wiggling itself into his arm. Naruto started to panic and was about to rip the thing out but he couldn’t move. His whole body was paralyzed. The snake was now fully in his arm. Naruto started to breathe deep grinding his teeth, his arm felt like it was on fire. All he wanted to do was scream out loud but he couldn’t even make a noise. He felt like he was going to throw up, he felt so hot. His head was pounding and his heart was thumping against his rib cage. His navel felt like it was being thrown everywhere he didn’t know what was going on.

Finally after what seemed like an eternity he could move and he grabbed his arm before bending downwards trying to ward of the pain that seemed to continue to get worse. He felt someone shaking him trying to talk to him but he couldn’t understand him or her. It felt like he was burning up, he couldn’t take much more of this. He was already having trouble breathing.

Harry’s World

The Weasley family along with Harry and Hermione had long ago been up in the stands waiting for the World cup to start. The place was pretty huge with over a thousand people wearing different shirts and colors to show their spirits. Down at the bottom was a large grass field with lines stretching all around the corners.

Harry looked around just taking in the fantastic view since they were basically at the top of the dome.
The box filled gradually around them with wizards they have never seen before. Mr. Weasley and Sirius kept shaking hands with these people who were obviously very important wizards.
The wizards, dressed completely different from anything they have ever seen. They kept pointing at other people and asking questions.

"These are foreigners, here for the World cup you know. The young woman over here is the representative for the Ministry. And those by her side are her family, and the rest are friends." He turned to the foreigners.

"Harry Potter, the wizarding hero you know” Fudge said, Harry sat back and tuned out Fudge not wanting to hear what else he was going to say.

"Now lets sit down and watch this game." Fudge said to Harry and Black. "I'm no great shakes at languages; I need Barty Crouch for this sort of thing. You know he once went to a small village…” Fudge was saying. All of the foreigners didn’t catch that or they were ignoring it but either way Harry thought they were rather odd.

The Ministry representative dressed in a blue robe with dark long strips at the end, she had her blue hair up. The others had on black robes and were pointing out random things around the field. If not anything else they gave Harry some entertainment.

"Ah there's Lucius," Fudge said, interrupting Harry's thoughts. He, Ron, Sirius, and Hermione turned around quickly in the direction of Fudge's eyes. Edging along the second row to three still empty seats right behind Mr. Weasley were none other than Lucius Malfoy, his son Draco, and a woman who was probably his wife.

Draco and his father looked almost exactly alike. The woman was blond too with deep pale blue eyes, with her tall and slim frame, she probably would have been nice looking if it hadn't been for the look she had, it was as if someone were waving a vomit bag under her nose.

"Ah, Yes I see that the foreigners are here Fudge." Mr. Malfoy said, holding out his hand as he reached out. "How are you? I don't think you've met my wife Narcissa or our son Draco?"
" Yes I have, and as you can see they have arrived and are enjoying themselves yes?" Fudge said, smiling.

"Please allow me to introduce Mrs. Floorn, the Ministry representative. None of them can understand a word I'm saying anyway, so never mind. These younger children are the pride and joy of...” Fudge went up to say as harry looked around the stadium. He was really enjoying himself. He was glad that they had arranged this little trip even if Malfoy was here.

"And let's see you know Arthur Weasley, I daresay? He was doing such a good job in the Ministry that I gave him and his department a raise." Fudge finished.

It was a tense moment. Mr. Weasley and Mr. Malfoy looked at each other and Harry vividly recalled the last time they had come face to face, in Flourish and Blotts' bookshop, and they had a fight. Mr. Malfoy's once semi warm eye were now cold gray eyes that seemed to sweep over Mr. Weasley, and then went up and down the row.

" Arthur," he said softly. "What did you have to sell to get seats in the Top Box? Surely your house wouldn't have fetched this much?" Sirius frowned on Malfoys words but otherwise kept quiet.
Fudge looked at the tension in the air and decided to calm things down. “He's here as my guest."

“How nice," Black and Arthur replied at the same time through gritted teeth and very strained smiles.
Mr. Malfoy's lips curled as he looked at Hermione. The Malfoys prided themselves on being purebloods so he had to stop himself from sneering at the girl.

"Ah, well I hope we will speak again." He nodded to Mr. Weasley trying not to sneer and continued down the line to his seats. Draco shot Harry, Ron, and Hermione a finger, then settled himself between his mother and father.

"Slimy assholes they are," Ron muttered as he and Harry turned to face the field again. Then Barty came up taking out his wand looking at Fudge.
"Everyone ready?" Barty asked, his round face glowing with excitement.

"Ready when you are, Barty," Fudge said.
Barty brought out his wand, directed it as his own throat, and said, ‘Sorina’', and then spoke over the sound that was now filling the packed stadium. His voice echoing throughout the stands.

Most of the people nearby winced at the volume of his voice just wanting Barty to make the damn speech so they could have some fun.
Then Bary finally stopped whatever he was doing and cleared his throat to make the big speech.

"WELCOME TO THE FINALS OF THE FOUR HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SECOND QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP!" Barty said loudly the spectators screamed and clapped.

Thousands of flags waved, including shirts adding their national anthems to the racket. Up in the sky letters flashed as they read

BULGARIA: 0;

IRELAND: 0.

Making the crowd even louder.
"AND NOW THE BULGARIAN NATIONAL TEAM MASCOTS!"

Then you could hear drums in the background start to pay in the right hand side of the stands, which was a solid block of scarlet, roared its approval.

"I wonder what they've got," Mr. Weasley said, leaning forward in his seat. Then you could see women start to walk out the field playing music that was so entrancing everyone wanted to fall asleep. Then it stopped and a couple of people had to shake their heads to just think right again.

"AND NOW FOR THE BEST TEAM AROUND…. THE IRISH NATIONAL TEAM MASCOTS!"

A great blue and crimson beach ball zoomed into the stadium, making three laps around the floor of the stadium. Suddenly, a large rainbow arced across the field. As it faded away, the ball of light formed a great shimmering shamrock that soared above them. And from that shamrock, a golden rain began to fall.
The great big shamrock disintegrated and became a huge swarm of tiny green leprechauns floating in the air.
"I didn't know those things existed…" Harry muttered.
"They have them everywhere remember the gnomes?" Ron asked.
Bagman introduced the team players as they shot out into the field.

"That's him!" Ron said as KRUM flew onto the field. He was thin, dark, and had a large curved nose and thick black eyebrows. This guy was only eighteen?

And the game began. Four balls burst into the air. A red ball, two black ones, and a tiny gold one that was difficult to keep track of. Fudge pointed out some of the things about the game.
"The red one is called a Quaffle," He said. "Throw it in a hoop, and the other team gets ten points. The two black ones are Bludgers. The Bludgers knock the players off the broomsticks. And the gold little ball with wings is a Snitch." Harry looked at Fudge as he kept trying to communicate with the wizard. It was pretty funny seeing him waving his wide arms about.

Harry was just turning around when he felt something in the air and he wasn’t the only one who noticed. Almost everyone stopped at once and looked around even the players were slowing down and some even stopped.

The air seemed to have gained electricity, because at random moments there would be a spark in the air. Then the wind started to pick up blowing around the whole stadium. Harry got up and readied his wand, he had indicated that the others do the same. Something was coming, he could feel it.
“Look up there!” Someone shouted into the crowd. Harry tightened his fist on the wand looking up and listening to people screaming and saying it was the Dark Lord. Then some of the players where getting out of there with their blooms landing on the ground or in the stands.

The sky had darkened considerable with dark thunder clouds all over the sky. Lighting started to slowly creep out threatening the stadium. Harry could only watch what was happening. He saw that his Godfather had moved up to his side with his wand also out.

“It’s He Know Must Not Be Named” Some of the crowd shouted trying to get away, people were actually trying to run up the chairs and stepping over innocent bystanders.

A loud crack brought Harry attention back up at the sky. It looked like the sky was turning red. Harry looked over at Herm to see if she knew what was happening but she just looked as stumped as everyone else. The air was getting worse he could hardly breathe now. Then the sky seemed to open on it’s own splitting the dark clouds open to have a fiery hell fall from it. It was the only way to describe it. It was a huge fire lightning that was heading towards the ground fast.

Harry didn’t even blink as the thing made contact on the ground. A huge earth shattering rattle went through the whole stadium. Harry was almost at the top of the whole towering building and he could feel and warmth it was giving off from the fire. The red thing seemed to have a life of it’s own going everywhere and striking at random things all around. Then it stopped.

Harry could till hear people screaming and running but some of them had stopped to look back. The fire of red seemed to be getting smaller and smaller until he couldn’t see it any more. Thinking quickly Harry grabbed Ron’s telescope and aimed it at the light on the ground. He nearly dropped it to when he saw what it was.

“Harry mate is it. What’s wrong.” Ron asked Harry trying to see what it was or himself.

“It’s a boy.” Harry said before sprinting down to get a better look. He didn’t stop when Black yelled at him to stop or anything else. All he wanted was to see what it was. He couldn’t get the picture out of his mind of the boy.

“Ladies and Gentlemen please stay calm and have the officials deal with this.” Someone was saying but harry didn’t care about this either he was almost there...
