hello,
i had originally intended to have this as a quick one shot but as i wrote more, this lil mini story progressed, i hope you enjoy!

Ino sat up the next morning, looking down at her lover. She kissed his lips softly and then proceeded to stand up, but a hand snaked around her middle brought her back down on her butt.

“Mmm where do you think you’re going?” asked a sleepy Shikamaru as he buried his face in her soft hip.

“Heh, well I was going to go take a shower since you, Mr. Nara, did not wear a condom.” Ino said, not heeding what she had said. Shikamaru did not heed them either and kissed her hip.

“Fine, leave me alone and cold and go shower.” He said pouting. She kissed his lips softly and moved a hand to his cheek.

“You can always join me.” She said with a wicked gleam in her eyes.

“Why didn’t you say that before.” He said, picking up his nude love and carried her to the bathroom. He sat her down and turned and started to turn the knobs for the shower. She smiled and enjoyed the view of his nice ass. She moved a hand out and rubbed it, startling him.

“Hey! That’s mine.” He said playfully. She smiled and kissed his lips softly.

“Well, I was under the impression that you, Mr. Nara. Were all mine, including your cute ass.” She said and stood, kissing his lips and walked into the shower, letting the hot water cascade down her body. He smiled and slipped in as well, shutting the glass door and watched her body, enjoying the view. She looked at him and motioned him over with a finger.

“You’re lying….” Ino said. Sakura handed her an unused pregnancy test and Ino went to the bathroom. Ten minutes later the two teens looked at the test and saw two blue lines. Ino fell to her knees and cried. Sakura held her friend and rubbed her back gently.

“Don’t worry Ino….you’re not alone.” Sakura said and her friend looked at her.

“What do you mean?” Ino asked.

“I’m pregnant too…” Sakura said, trying not to cry. The two girls exchanged stories and began eating the crackers with tea. All the while, trying to figure them out.

Ino sat on his bed, looking at the test in her hands. ‘Things….are going to be so different…’ she thought and looked up when she saw him come in. he smiled at her and kissed her lips softly. His smile faltered when he saw her face.

“Baby, what’s wrong?” he asked and saw the small white stick in her hands. He had yet to understand its’ meaning yet.

“Shika…Shika-kun…I’m….pregnant.” she said and looked at him. He stopped thinking….he stopped moving…he stopped breathing. “Shikamaru!?” she said worried.

He looked at the stick, realizing its’ meaning then at her, his brain not working fully. “Is it mine?” then a hand print appeared on his face, along with the sting and heat of the slap.

“You bastard! Of course it’s yours!!” she said, crying and stood up, pushing him away and ran from the room. It was then that Shikamaru realized the words he said and then the fact his lover and soon to be mother of his child was crying and gone. He stood up and then fell back to the ground. He tried again and succeeded and ran after her, not really sure where she was going. All he knew was that if he didn’t talk to her right then and there, his heart would break again, this time deeper. It was then that the rain began to fall.

Ino was at Sakura’s door, knocking as the rain fell. She shivered and looked up into the eyes of her friend as she walked inside the house. Sakura let her friend changed into a spare shirt and pajama pants and started to make some soup. They ate in silence as the music from the CD player played and after a time Ino told Sakura what happened. Sakura hugged her friend and they talked about how they felt about their new changes and what they might do. After a time, they went to Sakura’s room and went to bed.

It was midnight; Shikamaru was not sure where Ino could be. He went into the ramen stand, hoping she may be there. However he found Sasuke, Naruto and Sai, which was odd to him. He went up to them and took a deep breath. The three teammates look at him with an interest. It was not every day they saw Shikamaru all railed up.

“Have you guys seen Ino?” he asked, his voice cracking a little with worry.

The three looked at each other and then at him.

“No but have you tired Sakura’s place?” Sasuke asked.

“No…I didn’t think of that, thanks!” Shikamaru said and left.

“That was weird.” Naruto said, Sai nodded and Sasuke said nothing.

‘Sakura….I need to talk to her anyway….she’s been acting strange.’ Sasuke thought to himself.

Shikamaru knocked on Sakura’s door, waking both girls but Sakura told Ino to stay and went to answer it. She looked at him through the peep hole and opened the door, glaring daggers at him.

‘If looks could kill…’ Shikamaru thought and took a deep breath. Ino had come to the hall way and could hear from here.

“Is Ino here?” he asked, his voice even more broken.

“Why do you care you ass hole?” Sakura demanded her look even icier.

“Because I said something I shouldn’t have said and I need to let her know I did not mean to say that but…something else…I need to apologize to her.” He said and tried not to look away or run.

“Why should she listen to you? After how saying something that was so stupid, pathetic and insensitive to her?!” she knew Ino was there and wanted him to squirm before she let them speak.

“I didn’t mean to say that! I know Ino isn’t like that…I was in shock! I’m 16 and now I’m going to be a father.” He said…the last not as loud.

“And how do you think she feels? 16, unwed and pregnant?! How do you think it felt when she heard her boyfriend ask her the most stupidest question a male could ask?!” Sakura yelled.

“Worse than I do.” He said and saw blond strands in the corner of his eye.

“I don’t even know why I’m going to let you talk to her, but if you say anything to make her cry and hurt, I swear you will know real pain and wish for death.” Sakura said and opened the door for him. Ino leaned against the wall, her tear stained face the first thing he saw. He walked over to her and got down on his knees before.

“Ino…I’m sorry. I never meant to say that, I never meant to hurt you. I would never say anything to hurt you intentionally. I love you too much to ever want tears to fall from your eyes. Forgive me for saying that….” He said, looking at her.

“What did you mean to say then?” she asked.

“I…I’m not sure…” he said and felt kick in the ribs that sent him flying. He looked up and saw Sakura cracking her knuckles and then went air born again, falling into the street and saw the door slam shut. He stood up, pain was radiating and knocked again.

“Ino I’m sorry!” he said, knocking and no answer. After a while he stopped and just sat there by the door, still not sure how this could have happened.

Sakura held Ino and let her friend cry as they sat in bed, trying to figure out what the hell was that guys’ problem.

Shikamaru felt a foot against his sore rib and looked up at Sasuke.

“Come on man.” He said. He took the new father to be to Naruto’s place and let him clean up while Sai and Naruto made breakfast.

Shikamaru sat on the sofa, listless and the others traded worried looks.

“What happen man?” Sai asked. Shikamaru took a deep breath and began telling them what happened. After he was done the other three were silent and then traded looks.

“What did you mean to say?” Naruto asked.

“I’m not sure….I meant to say something like ‘wow and how could this happen…’ I think….” Shikamaru said and held his face in his hands.

“I think that wouldn’t have gotten you killed but still in deep shit.” Sasuke said.

“I don’t know what to do!? Everything I do is wrong so far! I’m 16 what does she expect of me?!” Shikamaru said.

“Maybe for you to be a man and try to support her, not make her feel like shit.” Sakura said from the window surprising everyone but Sasuke.

“How the hell did you do that?!” Naruto asked, surprised. Sai nodded in agreement.

“What do you expect me to do, propose?” Shikamaru asked.

“No, but at least not ask her to get rid of it or ask her if its’ yours.” Sakura said and glared at him. “Ino is my friend and I will be there, but you Shikamaru are her lover, you are the one who is to help her like this. You need to make sure she knows you will be there and you will love her no matter what. She’s not asking for marriage, but it would be nice for you to make her feel better. I can only do so much.” Sakura said and with that, she vanished.

“That’s creepy.” Naruto said.

A week passed and Ino was still at Sakura’s, not ready to go home or to face anyone else. Ino had made sure her friend’s place was spotless while she was away at the hospital. Also, dinner was on the table and the two talked and just grew comfortable with the idea that they were now pregnant and unwed mothers. It was that night when Shikamaru once again was at the door, but this time things were different.

“Wait, before you try to kill me let me please say something.” Shikamaru said to Ino. She looked at him and he got down on one knee. “Ino, I’m sorry for everything I have done wrong. I didn’t want or mean to hurt you, I’m young like you, but I’m not the one with child. I want you to know that, no matter what happens, I’ll always be right here for you and no matter what, I’ll support you with what ever choices you make. Please forgive me for the stupid shit I said. What I meant to say was ‘will you move in with me?’” Shikamaru asked, looking into her eyes.

Ino knew that wasn’t what he meant to say at that moment, when she told him, but over looked that fact. He was asking her to move in with him, that was a lot and she knew that if he asked her to marry him, she would say no, thinking that he felt obligated to ask since he got her pregnant.

“Yes, I’ll move in with you.” Ino said. ‘One day he will ask something else.’

“No more smoking thought.”

“Anything you want dear.”

Three days later, Sakura was behind a bush, her teammates wondering what was wrong with her. She kept throwing up, for the last two mornings. Now Sasuke was over with her, rubbing her back.

“Things keep getting weirder and weirder.” Naruto said, Sai and Kakashi agreed.

Sasuke handed Sakura a wet rag and she cleaned her mouth and looked at her lover, friend and comrade.

“Sasuke…I’m pregnant.” She said, looking at him “And yes it is yours.” Sasuke Uchiha…fell over and stopped breathing. “SASUKE!?” Sakura yelled as she felt for a pulse.
