Shadows of destruction
The air was cold, the atmosphere tense as the four Shinobi made their way into Kumo. A rough wind hit against the rock side causing alarm within Ino.
Naruto turned, smiling towards his blonde friend. “Don’t worry Ino, even if he attacks again, I will protect everyone!” He let out a deep breath as he continued walking towards the cloud village.
Ino glared up at him, looking into his wonderful blue eyes. ‘He’s so calm, even after the last attack. Though, it’s clearly drained him.’ She thought, her mind flashing back to the events.

A shadowed axe burst out from a tree, skimming the young blonds arms, blood spewing out from the wound. “You… you… won’t… stop… me,” Naruto said, breathing deeply as he tried to regain his composure, his eyes still burning red.
The cloaked figure slowly walked towards the young Shinobi, looking slightly past him, seeing the other three Shinobi’s lying unconscious in the background. A sharp smile formed on his evil face. “Ahhh… this is so… so… exhilarating!” He yelled, eyes closing in ecstasy.
Naruto launched himself to the side, rolling amongst the rubble and grass, narrowly avoiding a shadowed blade thrown from the shadow of the Akutsuki members. As Naruto stood, he roared out in pain as he felt four Shuriken slice into his back, causing him to fall face down in the muck. When he looked back, there was nothing there but the wounds. ‘Is he using… Shadow Shuriken? No, it can’t be…what…what’s going on here? No matter, I can’t- I won’t die here!’
The young boy slowly pushed himself onto his knees, arms shaking violently as they tried to support his weight.
Tetsu spoke slowly, “And still he gets up. I have to hand it to you… this… this is amazing! I have never had so much fun in my life, all that pain, all that blood. And you’re still fighting, your resistance is still strong.” A smirk spread across his face, “Kid, you have earned my respect. But that alone will not help you survive.” He held his arm outwards as a shadow built up from the ground, slowly taking the shape of a sword. He grasped it in his strong hands, raising it above his head, preparing to strike the final blow. “Now young Kyuubi. Prepare to die. But smile, knowing your legend will live on, once we’ve extracted that demon from you that is…”

Ino’s thoughts continued as she walked slowly beside Shikamaru, gripping the bandage around her arm. ‘He barely came out of it, but he did so with our lives. Where did all that power come from? He was barely moving before, before it just exploded. And he healed before the rest of us.’
The four walked through the streets, looking for the girl in the picture, Yugito. Naruto prayed he would see her, even though he knew he was never good at searching.
“This is troublesome, at this rate we’re just gonna continue walking in circles. We should get some rest. There’s a hotel over there, looks comfortable enough. We should stay there for the night, then continue our search.” Shikamaru said, looking backwards at the group to see all but Naruto nodding.
“I am sorry Shikamaru, but I wont rest until I have found her, you guys get some rooms booked, I’ll continue searching, and meet you back here.” Naruto said, frowning as he looked at the setting sun. He stretched his arms out in front of him and said, “Lets get to it, Kage Bunshin no jutsu.” Five perfect copies of him appeared around him, looking straight out at the sun. “Right, you all know what to do!” he ordered. All six versions of Naruto launched into the air and onto the nearest rooftops.
‘How can you even walk Naruto, you certainly are troublesome!’ Shikamaru thought, shaking his head.

Naruto coughed. Rain began to pound from the heavens above, washing the blood from his wounds. He looked to the side and saw the outline of a sword emerging from the dirt.
“And still you dodge! Hahaha this is amazing!” Tetsu yelled, grinning manically as he clutched his shadow blade.
Blood spurted from Naruto’s mouth as he coughed violently again. “You… You’re crazy!” Coughs wracked his body as he slowly got to his feet. “You’ve… certainly …found … your… voice!” He shouted. A boot slammed into him, compressing his ribs as he shot backwards, landing heavily against a tree. Struggling, he forced himself to a stand.
Tetsu’s smile began to fade. “This is… There’s no words- but I must end this, first you. Then I’ll get the girl. Yugito will be dead very shortly! And we’ll have two new Bijuu to add to the shukkaku!” he said.
Suddenly a fire began to build around the young blond Shinobi, engulfing him. Fangs burst from his mouth and two tails spun out behind him. “I. Will. Kill. You,” he hissed, with every word a shockwave of chakra exploded from him, knocking Tetsu backwards.
“What is this power? This- Is the Kyubbi’s doing, yes?” An insane smile burst across Tetsu’s face. “I cant wait for this!”

‘Where could you be Yugito? I hope you’re not already dead. Please don’t let me be to late!’ The Shinobi launched himself to the next rooftop, dropping down to his knees as he landed. ‘It’s affecting me more than I thought, I’ve not completely healed from the fight.’ He stood up and looked towards the horizon, his thoughts straying back to Konoha.

“You did what?” Jiraiya exclaimed.
Tsunade sipped slowly from her sake and said, “I let him go to the Cloud Village.”
Jiraiya’s eyes began to burn red with anger. “You let him go without a Jonin? What if he loses control of the Kyubbi again?” He spoke with clear exasperation in his voice.
Tsunade sighed, staring at the bottle in her hand. “He would have gone anyway, it’s something he truly believes in and nothing we could have done would have stopped him. I don’t even think his mother could have stopped him. In fact, she probably would have encouraged him to save her.” She said, smiling in amusement.
Jiraiya sighed deeply into his sake. “I guess you’re right. How- how’s Kakashi doing?”
“Sakura is treating him, he’s going to recover fully, but he’s still a little weak. I’m amazed he hasn’t went blind due to the Sharingan.” Tsunade said.
“He’s tough, and has an unbelievable amount of chakra. He’ll be fine, don’t worry about him, Tsunade….”

“I. Will. Kill. You!” Every scream sent out another shockwave at Tetsu. A ball began to build in Naruto’s hand, not blue, but red. He looked up through his red eyes and saw the huge body of Tetsu, blood dripping from him. “Now die!” Naruto roared, launching from the spot, holding the Oodama Rasengan in one hand, slamming it into the gut of the Akatsuki member, propelling him backwards wildly through the trees. “Finally… it’s… over.”
Naruto woke from the dream, mind still traveling over the fight. ‘He was tough, but at least he’s taken care of. But there’s a lot more, we can’t rest. Not for a minute.’ He looked down to the street below and was startled to see a blonde girl. A group of people stood near her.
A voice spoke from behind him. “So you finally noticed her did you, Naruto?”
Naruto looked up to see Shikamaru standing behind him. “How long have you been standing there?” he said.
“Naruto, you’re so troublesome. I’ve been here the whole time you were asleep. We’ve found her, now lets get her to Konoha, so we can rid ourselves of this troublesome mess.”
