Rainy Nights

Staring down into the serene face of the blond Sasuke couldn’t understand. Why did he do this? He told him that he would always protect him…

“Why Dobe, why do you want to leave me?” He whispered as he took Naruto’s hand into his.


~~inside Naruto’s mind~~

Naruto stirred, sitting up.

‘What’s that?’ he mumbled

‘Kit, do you hear him?’

‘Sasuke?’

‘Yes’

‘Why am I still here?’

Kyuubi sighed

‘I told you kit, you have to stay alive for him.’

Still Naruto shook his head.

‘He would be better off without me.’

A cold chill swept over Naruto as a deep voice whispered.

(Yes, he would be better off without you. You bring nothing but pain to those you love)

Naruto turned to look at the fox demon. But this felt different from him.

(You don’t need anybody. You only need yourself and your power. Let me in . . .)

‘Who are you!

Naruto shouted as he stood. He looked around the cage. He could see nothing but darkness.

Kyuubi looked down at his kit.

‘What is it kit?’

That’s when he felt the odd stirring of power. This power felt dark, menacing, and familiar, but then it was gone. Kyuubi turned to look at Naruto who stood looking straight out of the cage.

Naruto?

Tsunade felt anger flowing through her body as she slammed her fist down on the desk splintering it into a thousand pieces, "Shizune, I need another desk!" She shouted then dropped back into her chair.

What the hell's wrong with the people of Konoha? The Fourth wished for Naruto to be treated as a hero. No one honored that wish, no one cared. They only knew that he was a demon brat kid who might destroy them one day.

Shaking her head at her blonde charge, "and he still loves this village and the people. He still wants to become Hokage." Sighing she stood and walked over to the window and stared out. The sky was still grey as dawn arrived. The streets below began to come alive with people starting their day. As her mind wondered she thought about Naruto and what he would do now that he was still among the living.

Sasuke felt the sudden surge of power. He looked down at Naruto and saw that his brows were drawn together as if he was in pain. He reached down to touch his cheek but yanked his hand back from he heat that was radiating from him.

What the hell, Sasuke thought as he stared at him. Just then Naruto began to thrash around on the bed.

"Naruto?"

"Get away from me!" The blonde shouted his eyes still shut. His arms were flailing around wildly until the Uchiha grabbed both arms and held them down.

He knew that he was in the grip of one of his nightmares but this seemed . . . different.

As Naruto whimpered and squirmed Sasuke lay down beside the Dobe and pulled him close. Naruto stopped moving and snuggled closer to Sasuke which brought a smile to his lips. He brought is lips close to the blonde’s ear and whispered, "I love you."

~~Inside Naruto's head~~

Naruto pressed his back against the bars of the cage. Eyes wide with fear as he stared at a large dark mass with teeth and eyes moving toward him. He couldn't move, it was like he was paralyzed.

As a strange feeling flowed over him he felt the presence of Kyuubi. He looked at the fox demon with wide scared eyes as Kyuubi clamped down on the dark mass of teeth and eyes.

'What is that!' Naruto asked pointing to the dark mass in the demons mouth.

Instead of answering, Kyuubi applied more force as the creature struggled. He knew this creature all too well and he would be damned if it got its rotting hands on his kit! He continued to apply pressure until he heard the creature whine and struggle but then there was an audible snap then the creature swung limp in the demon's mouth.

Kyuubi opened his mouth and the dark mass slid to the ground and dissolved.

Naruto was shaken; he didn't know what the hell was going on. All of a sudden he felt warmth spread through his body. He closed his eyes and could feel his raven haired lover. Then he heard, “I love you."

Naruto smiled as he slide down the wall wrapped in the love of his Teme.

The man snarled as his connection was broken. "Damned that demon," he spat as he stood on the branch looking out over Konoha. A smile spread across his pale face as his mind worked on another plan to obtain the fox brat. "I will have him," he hissed has he disappeared into the trees.

'Kit, it's time for you to go to him.'

Naruto stood by the bars staring out into the darkness. He was scared of what they would think. Everyone probably will think he was weak for trying to . . .

‘No one will think that. You have been brave all your life.’

Naruto turned and smiled at the fur ball but his smile faded.

‘Kyu, what was that creature?’

Kyuubi knew this was coming. Sighing he walked over to his kit and sat down.
Naruto sat down and waited for him to begin.

‘First, I want to tell you that the fourth Hokage and I were friends, best of friends. Even though I was who I was he never thought less of me. I actually grew to love him. Before long we became lovers. I thought my life and his would be peaceful but I was wrong. An evil ninja cast a mind control jitjsu over me and I became the beast that nearly destroyed Konoha. I was being controlled.’

Naruto stared at the fox, letting it all sink in.

‘The Hokage figured the only way to save the village and me was to use a sealing jutjsu. When I was sealed within you I could feel the control slipping then altogether vanish. But not before I saw it. That was the same creature as from before.’

‘Why was it after me?’

Shaking his head, ‘I don’t know kit. Once you are back with him, please be careful. Use my power if you need to.’

Sakura walked into the hospital room and saw that Sasuke had lain in the bed beside Naruto. Smiling she took a blanket covered them both.

“Please come back to us Naruto,” she whispered then left the sleeping boys.

Naruto slowly opened his eyes and saw a white ceiling. As he turned his head his eyes took in the beauty of thick dark hair.

“Sasuke,” he whispered. Smiling he leaned over and brushed a kiss over his lips.
Sasuke felt a warmth rush over his lips. He opened his dark eyes to find clear, bright blue eyes staring at him. Without saying a word Sasuke deepened the kiss. He pushed his tongue further into the blonde’s mouth.

He tasted of citrus and sun Sasuke thought as he ravished naruto’s mouth.

Both moaned from the intensity of the kiss.

A throat clearing made the two pull back, panting heavily.

Tsunade stood at the door smiling, “geez Uchiha, can you wait until he’s fully recovered.” Laughter threatened to spill.

Pinkish color stained the dark ninja’s cheeks as he sat up on the side of the bed.

"Hn," was the Uchiha's response.

Naruto laid there smiling, a genuine smile because with that one kiss he could feel how much his teme loved him.


No one saw the ninja outside the hospital window. He masked his charka so no one, not even Sasuke sensed him. He smirked at this. As the pale ninja looked at the blonde fox he smiled. His time will come; he will get what belongs to him.
