The New Avenger

Neji arrived at the Hokage office and there, in her office, was Lady Tsunade. Neji approached her. "Lady Tsunade!" Neji said out of breath. "Neji, what is wrong? Why are you covered in blood?" asked the Hokage. "We need you at the hospital, right away. It's Lady Hinata!..." he said. "Alright Neji. Tell me what hapened along the way."

Neji explained how the Akatsuki had returned and what had happened to Lady Hinata and the rest of the Hyuga clan. "The Akatsuki huh? After all this time, the have returned. I had a feeling this would happen." said lady Tsunade. "You knew this was going to happen! And yet you sat there and did nothing! What kind of Hokage are you!? You sit down, and just watch as a clan is murdered!!" yelled the young Hyuga. "Kid. Listen. I had the Anbu Black-ops guarding every inch of Konoha's walls. I was prepared for this. No one was allowed in or out of Konoha without proper identification. I followed all precautions, so don't come off with that crap. I am doing the best I can! Now shut up, we're at the hospital." snapped Tsunade. "Which room is Lady Hinata in?" asked Tsunade to the nurse. "This way please." said the nurse. She pulled the curtain back and there was Hinata. Lying there on the medical bed, covered in blood and still in pain. "Let me handle this. I should be done shortly." said the medical ninja Tsunade.

Neji sat in wait in his chair, clenching his fists. Then to Neji's surprise, the medical room doors slammed open, nearly knocking them off the hinges. "You little twerp!" roared lady Tsunade. Neji sat confused looking at lady Tsunade. She walked over and grabbed him up by the collar of his shirt. "Do you want to know why Lady Hinata was bleeding and coughng up blood? The damage was done from the inside, yet her skin was bruised, and her chakra flow was disrupted. The only ninja's I know that can do that are from the Hyuga clan! And you and Lady Hinata are the only two that remains! You did this to Lady Hinata didn't you!?" Neji looked shocked at the rampaging Hokage. "No I didn't! I told you it was the Akatsuki. I saw Itachi, Deidara, and Sasori" "Hold on! Did you say Sasori?! Now I know you are lying. Sasori has been dead for years!" spoke Lady Tsunade.

"Lady Tsunade! Hinata has awakened! Hurry." said the nurse. Tsunade threw the young Hyuga down and told him "You just wait! We'll hear the story from Hinata!". Hinata lay there in bed just watching as the young Hyuga and Lady Hokage walked over. "Alright Hinata. Tell us what happened." said Lady Tsunade. "W-Well, I saw some ninja in black robes walking with Neji." she said while resisting the urge to cough. "Can you describe them? Please try o remember what they looked like." "Okay, I-I'll try. One was tall, with black hair and red eyes. A-Another was slightly shorter with blonde hair and a pony tail. And the last one was about the same height as the blonde, but with short reddish hair...but..." interrupted by a cough, "Neji looked different. His eyes were not their same peaceful color. They were pure red, and h-had a look of bloodlust in them. And I watched as the dark haired man with red eyes, and Neji, killed every one of our clan." she said with tears in her eyes.

"Neji." said Tsunade. "You are not responsible for the death of your clan... I now believe you. Sasori is back along with the rest of the Akatsuki. Sasori can manipulate anyone or anything by concentrating his chakra in forms of string and linking them to whatever he wishes to control...Neji...you were being controlled."

"Lady Tsunade. I now know that the Akatsuki is to blame most, but I still take responsibility for what happened to my clan. I was caught off guard, and now I must kill Itachi, Sasori, and Deidara, and any Akatsuki member there is. I will not return to Konoha until ever last one is dead." said Neji as he walked out the door. "N-Neji!" yelled Hinata. Neji turned his head in the doorway, "Yes lady Hinata?" said Neji. "B-Be careful." replied Lady Hinata. Neji looked at her with a small smile, nodded and walked out the door, and out of Konoha.

From the top of the hospital, two shadows loomed over the village. "Shall I kill him now?" said the shark. "No. We shall see how he fairs against the Akatsuki." said the dark haired man. "But why let him live?" asked the shark. "Because I know, he will fail..." said the dark haired man as he and the shark dissapeared into the darkness.
