Re-Education- Second Overture: WAFF

============================================================================

Sasuke pulled away from the curb. He didn't know what had possessed him to pull over and force the boy into his car, and now he was nervous again. Naruto was so close, his car was small, fast, and expensive after all, and the small distance made him nervous. He glanced over at the boy from the corner of his eye, his breath catching at the look on Naruto's face, at once both adorable and heartbreaking. He hadn't thought it was possible for someone to look so sad, though he supposed the cold and the rain could have something to do with it.

He coughed lightly, the car moving more slowly in the heavy rain, the windshield wipers flying across the glass at their greatest speed. The water pouring down still made it hard to see though. He didn't relish the thought of walking anywhere in this rain, and he couldn't bear the thought of making the blonde teenager do such a thing. Though, if the boy knew he'd be walking home, Sasuke didn't understand why he wouldn't bring an umbrella.

Still, the way the blond had looked there, in the rain, the slump of his shoulders and the slight flinch when the car had splashed him. Sasuke hated to see that, it made something inside him ache a little. He'd justified pulling over to himself with the fact that he owed the boy something, for their first little "detention incident." Really though, he just couldn't stand the idea of Naruto walking home alone in this rain.

He came up to the next stop sign slowly still, unsure about where he was going. He had no idea where Naruto lived, though he knew it was close, and probably in this direction because the boy had been walking this way when he'd picked him up. Sasuke cleared his throat quietly.

"Uzumaki-kun, you're going to have to tell me how to get to your house, or at least where you live, if I'm going to take you there." Naruto grunted in response, not looking up from the dashboard.

"I live over on River St, that way." Naruto pointed to the left, and Sasuke nodded, turning the car. He knew where River St was, and he frowned a little. That wasn't a very good neighborhood. He found himself concerned about the blond again. Naruto walked home through there every afternoon? That wasn't something Sasuke would do, especially now in the heavy rain and rapidly approaching darkness. It wasn't that he wasn't brave, or capable of taking care of himself, he just wasn't that stupid.

The rest of the ride past in tense silence, with Sasuke glancing at the blond every once and awhile, careful not to move him head and get caught at it. Naruto pointed the way every once and awhile, voicing his instructions in a curt, direct way, never looking away from the rain streaked windshield. It made something inside of Sasuke hurt a little, to see the normally happy, loud, obnoxious boy so quiet and withdrawn.

Still, he said nothing as he pulled into the complex Naruto indicated, thinking it was a bit of a dump as he rolled to a stop. Naruto pointed to one of the old buildings, and Sasuke nodded, Naruto mumbled a number and Sasuke rolled the car slowly over, secretly wanting to prolong the time the silent boy was inside, in the warmth of his car, and near enough for Sasuke to feel. Still, Naruto pulled the door open, waving awkwardly behind him as he slammed the door, grunting a thank you over his shoulder with a blush. That was closer to the usual Naruto, and Sasuke found himself smiling a little.

He watched Naruto walk up to his door, knowing he should drive away, but ignoring his better instincts and staying. He saw Naruto fumble through his pockets before cursing, looking through them again, before kneeling on the ground, emptying his bag and sifting through the contents. Sasuke's brows crinkled in confusion when Naruto sprung up again, tossing the repacked bag on over his shoulder before getting up, heading down towards one of the apartments on the end. Sasuke scowled, debating with himself. Finally, he through the car into gear and followed, pulling to a stop again in front of the boy, who was furiously scribbling down a note on some scrap paper. Sasuke flung the door open again.

"Oi Dobe! What's wrong?" The boy stiffened slightly, before turning to glare back at him.

"Im locked out, you bastard, I lost my keys somewhere. The land lord can let me in, but he doesn't seem to be in right now so I'm leaving him a note. Anything else I can do for you, Uchiha-sensei?" Naruto's voice was harsh and frustrated. Sasuke pondered this for a moment, and Naruto turned to slip it under the door. Sasuke stopped him with another shout.

"Where are you going then?" Naruto tensed.

"I'm going to go back and sit in front of my rooms till he comes to let me in." Sasuke scowled slightly, and stared at the seat next to him. He sighed.

"Put your phone number on there, Naruto-kun, and get back in the car." The sentence was commanding but soft, and edge of annoyance showing in the tone. Naruto scowled, turning to face Sasuke head on.

"What good would that be, Sasuke-sama, hm? My phone is bolted to my kitchen wall. Not all of us can afford fancy things you know." Sasuke sighed, before cutting the engine, stalking around the car to grab the note from Naruto. The boy was frozen in shock when he tore the paper from his grasp, and the boy's eyes got wide as Sasuke scribbled his own number onto the note, grabbing Naruto's bag from the ground as he slipped the note under the landlord's door.

Naruto stumbled over his words, making a grab for the bag, but the Uchiha just growled lowly, grabbing the boy's outstretched hand by the wrist and pulling him back towards the car. Naruto found his voice then, his other hand scrabbling at Sasuke's fingers ineffectually.

"What the hell, you bastard! I have to stay here if I want to get back in the apartment." Sasuke turned around quickly, glaring at the boy.

"Shut up. It's cold here and you're all wet. If you just stay out here you'll get sick and you can't afford that if you want to graduate. I'm taking you home, where you can dry off and get warm. There will be no arguing, now get in the fucking car." Naruto was a bit shocked by the tone, and the thought behind it. Sasuke took advantage of this, opening the door and throwing Naruto inside. The boy swung his feet up and inside on his own though, and Sasuke relaxed a little as he closed the door behind him, watching Naruto but on his seat belt before turning to walk to his own side of the car.

The ride was tense, Sasuke wondering why he was doing this. He told himself it was just to make sure the boy really did graduate, just holding up his own end of the bargain, admitting only softly in his mind that he wanted to make that night up to the boy. Nothing in his mind would ever say anything about how he felt himself coming to like the boy though. He chose not to think about that at all.

They pulled up in front of his townhouse, and he got some satisfaction out of the awed expression on Naruto's face. The boy stared up at the building for awhile, he was still gaping at it when Sasuke came around, opening the door and holding his umbrella over it. Naruto blushed, but wrestled himself from his seat, reaching over to grab his backpack that was stuck in the back of the car. Sasuke felt his own flush rise at the little sliver of skin this action exposed, but pushed it down, covering it with a little noise of impatience. Naruto scowled back at him, but hurried himself anyways, popping out of the car and waiting as the Uchiha locked it up, the remote in hand.

Sasuke got more nervous as he neared the door, his hands shaking slightly as he unlocked it. He ushered Naruto inside quickly, turning on the light and locking the door behind him before taking off his shoes. He grabbed a pair of slippers, one of three neatly lined up by his door, and dropped them in front of Naruto before slipping on a pair himself, setting his shoes by the heater. He grabbed Naruto's as well, as soon as they were off, and lined them up next to his. The action made his heart flutter a bit in his chest.

The only people to ever visit him at home were his mother and his brother, Itachi. It was odd, and somewhat satisfying, to see those small, somewhat shabby shoes there by his, in sharp contrast to the usual, impeccably kept shoes of his family.

Sasuke found himself staring at those shoes, a small smile on his face. He scowled quickly, and looked around. He didn't see Naruto though, and that relaxed him somewhat. He didn't relish being caught like that. Still, he wondered where he could find the boy now. Still, he passed through the hallway beyond quickly, stopping in the kitchen first. He put the electric kettle on to boil.

Naruto stood inside the door to what seemed like a living room awkwardly, his clothing damp but not wet enough to drip onto the tatami beneath him. He felt the water drip from his hair though, down across his neck and into the cold dampness of his shirt. He was lost, unsure of where to go from here. The room was dark, and warm, and he fumbled along the wall for a second until he found the switch, flipping the lights on.

The room looked comfortable, yet fashionably simple and sparse. He saw several low chairs around a dark wood kotatsu. On the walls, there were bookshelves on every side, each one packed with volumes. He wasn't sure what to do. while the seats looked inviting, and the room felt warm and dry, Naruto couldn't quite bring himself to move forwards, to sit. It was all so clean, so perfect. He was struck with a deep wave of doubt. He didn't belong here, this wasn't his life. He belonged outside, in the cold, waiting for his door to be unlocked so that he could go back inside and sleep in his own, cold bed.

He was startled by a screen sliding open across the room, and that shock, on top of all of those other emotions, shone in his eyes for a split second before he hid them. Sasuke stood there, meeting his eyes for a heartbeat before the man looked away.

"Come on, dobe. I'll take you upstairs so you can get a shower." Naruto was about to argue, but something he saw in the tightness of the Uchiha's muscles, the way the man stood there, made him stop. He just nodded silently, and followed. The man took him up two flights of stairs, and down to a rather large bathroom, the japanese style showering room off to one side. Sasuke turned to a closet, opening it and selecting two fluffy black towels, setting them on a stool by the door.

"Here you go, Uzumaki-kun. I set out a towel, and I'll grab you something dry to swap for your wet clothes in a minute. We can put those in the dryer and they should be ready before you leave." With that, Sasuke ducked through a side door, leaving Naruto there alone. The boy shuddered a little, still cold. He pulled his wet shirt up over his head and dropped it to the ground. He almost picked it up again, but stopped himself. It looked out of place on the impeccably clean floor, but he shrugged. He could pick it all up on his way out.

X

Sasuke leaned against the wall to his room, panting slightly. He must be going crazy, there was no other explanation for why his heart would be racing, his breath coming much to fast. He was always nervous when there was someone in his house, he didn't bring many people here after all, but this was slightly different. This anxious squirm in his chest was warmer, more comfortable.

He threw the door to his closet open, stepping into the dressing area inside. His eyes scanned the shelves, and he quickly grabbed some things, mostly a deep navy. That was pretty much the only color he owned, or at least the only color he wore. He paused though, and went back, putting down the shirt he held in favor of a white tank that was too small for him, and he also exchanged the pants for soft red sweatpants his brother had given him for christmas many years ago. He blushed slightly, but still grabbed a pair of boxers, black and silky, and gathered everything together.

He took a moment to calm his breath again, wondering what on earth had compelled him to do this. First he had picked the boy up, then brought him back here, which he never did, and then he'd even bypassed the guest bathroom on the second floor in favor of his own. He winced a little, running his hand through his own damp hair, steeling himself for this before pushing the door to the bathroom open again.

The little ante-room was warm, and Sasuke could see that Naruto was still in the shower. The door was shut, and fogged up, but he could still see the outline of the boy on the other side, seemingly rinsing out his hair. Sasuke blushed hotly, the outline of the dobe's naked body pulling images from his memory, the way the boy's ass curved down from his spine, the way the cheeks of that ass fit in his hands, the way the boy's face had looked, when he glanced back over his shoulder, lightly frosted with cum.

Sasuke felt himself getting hard then, and he had to adjust himself through the fabric of his pants. He moaned lightly at the electric tingle of the contact, and for a moment he considered stripping off his own clothes and crossing the rest of the floor, pushing open that shower door. He could picture how Naruto's body would look, dripping wet and flushed from the heat.

He was pulled from that fantasy by the sound of the door sliding open on it's own, and for a minute he thought it was by his own hands, but he was still standing by the screen leading into his bedroom. Instead, Naruto stood there, dripping wet and naked, and everything flew from Sasuke's head as he stared at the boy's body. It was better than he imagined. He blushed when he caught Naruto's eyes, the boy just as frozen as he was. Naruto broke the spell though, grabbing the towels with an embarrassed little squeak.

"Bastard, get out. I'm naked, or hadn't you noticed." Sasuke opened his mouth, but couldn't quite think of what to say so he closed it again. He stepped forwards, and Naruto tensed a little, but instead of walking to the blond he walked to the little stool instead, dropping the clothing he was still carrying there.

"Here. These are dry, you can put them on. I'll put your things in the dryer downstairs, and you can get them when your ready to leave." Sasuke rushed out then, grabbing Naruto's clothing from the pile on the floor and almost ran from the room. He didn't slow down until he'd gone down both flights of stairs, breathing hard then. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart.

Naruto flushed, partly from the heat and partly from the Uchiha's closeness. He'd willed his slight erection down while in the shower, but it was hardening again now. The hungry, slightly lost look in Sasuke's eyes as he'd stood there had made something flutter in Naruto's chest. While it had already been established that the Uchiha found him at least slightly attractive, he didn't think the man would still want anything to do with him. It warmed something inside of him to think that maybe Sasuke did still want him somehow.

He'd never really been wanted by anyone, not since his parents had died, and the thought appealed to him. There was also something tragic and lonely about his sensei, and he felt like maybe, if they were together, they wouldn't have to be alone anymore. Naruto knew how that felt, and he didn't like it at all, he felt like no one deserved to feel like that, not even someone as abrasive as Sasuke.

He remembered how it had felt nice when Sasuke had touched him in the classroom that night, even as he had objected it hadn't been bad really, just unexpected and a little bit scary. The Uchiha had been careful, Naruto knew that it could have hurt a lot more than it did. In the end, he felt himself thinking about that night alone, in his apartment. He always ended up touching himself when he did, trying to pretend that his hand wasn't his, but Sasuke's instead, remembering how his sensei had spoken to him, his voice a low purr, and how the man had moved inside of him.

He shook the thought from his head though, bending to grab the clothing Sasuke had brought him. It was a bit weird, it smelled strangely like the Uchiha, which made him smile for no real reason. It was quite comfortable actually, Naruto enjoyed being enveloped like that, like Sasuke was holding him.

He sighed, deciding that that was a stupid thing for him to focus on. He pushed the door open, hanging the towels he had used on the rack behind it before stepping out into the hallway.

He headed out, down the stairs, remembering roughly where Sasuke had led him. When his feet hit the tile floor of the back hallway he got nervous again though, but he forced himself to keep going, ignoring the panicky little voice in his gut that told him to run run far away from this. With a deep breath he pushed onwards, following the slight sound of clinking porcelain to the small living room he'd been in before.

He pushed the screen open, ready to ask if maybe his landlord had called already, but the words died in his throat. There was Sasuke, sitting at the kotatsu, the muscles in his back tense and wound so tight that Naruto thought they might just shatter at any second. There was another man there, like Sasuke only older, and seemingly completely relaxed, a small smirk playing on his lips. Naruto could almost breath the tension in the room, and his heart clenched protectively. He wanted to tell whoever the hell that was to get the fuck out of his sensei's living room and leave them in peace. He almost did too, but Sasuke spoke first, turning to face him.

"Ah, Uzumaki-kun. This is my brother, Itachi. He stopped by unexpectedly. Come sit, I made tea." Naruto crossed the space, sitting at one or the chairs between them, his eyes meeting Sasuke's, soft with concern. The younger Uchiha scowled and looked away, staring at the table in front of him so intently that Naruto thought it might just burst into flames. Still, he sensed from Sasuke that the boy didn't want a confrontation. He gritted his teeth, turning to Itachi with a forced smile.

"Hello Uchiha-san. It's nice to meet you." The man's smirk only grew at that though, which made Naruto seethe slightly.

"Hello Uzumaki-kun, that's right isn't it? I'm pleased to make your acquaintance. If I may ask, how do you know my otouto. I'm quite startled to find someone else in his house. It is quite rare indeed that someone might capture the heart of our stoic little ice prince." Naruto gritted his teeth, scowling at Itachi across the table.

"He's my sensei, you bastard. He's just helping me out with some things, so that I can graduate on time." Sasuke put a hand on his arm, squeezing gently in warning, though the action was calming. Naruto stopped, taking a deep breath and picking up the tea cup Sasuke had poured for him sullenly.

The rest of the evening was filled with a tense awkwardness, until finally Itachi rose to leave, bidding Sasuke goodbye. The younger Uchiha showed his brother to the door, and when he returned his mood was a bit better, but he looked exhausted. Naruto cocked his head to one side, and bit his lip. He didn't want to impose on Sasuke any more than he already had. He stood.

"You look tired, Uchiha-sensei. I'm sure my land lord is home by now. I'll just walk back and let him to unlock my door for me. I can ju-" Naruto was interrupted by Sasuke, who slammed a hand down on the table.

"No. It's still pouring out and even if I gave you an umbrella you'd still get soaked. Besides, it's dinner time so you might as well stay for that at least." The man paused. He looked up at Naruto then, their eyes locking for a second. "I didn't bring you home and warm you up just so you could get sick anyways, right?" Naruto couldn't stop himself from nodding.

X

Naruto had tried to help out as much as possible making dinner. He felt weird eating at someone else's house, he felt like he should contribute in some way. There wasn't much Sasuke had let him do though. In the end he'd mostly just sat on the counter and pouted.

Sasuke was perfectly fine with that arrangement, just enjoying the petulant expression on the blond's face as he sat up on the kitchen island, his feet kicking slightly, following the Uchiha with his eyes as the older boy moved about the kitchen. Sasuke enjoyed cooking, and as much as he didn't care what anyone thought of him, at least as far as he would admit, it was still nice to have someone to show off his skills to.

He ended up making what he thought would be entirely too much food. Naruto, though, proved him wrong. The speed at which the boy gobbled down anything and everything put in front of him boggled Sasuke's mind, and made him worry slightly if the boy was eating enough on a regular basis. He convinced himself it was just a teenage boy thing though, mostly so that he wouldn't have to think about it anymore.

He had expected the tense mood of Itachi's visit to linger over them, but it didn't. In fact, it seemed to have cleared the air a little bit between them, making it easier to just relax and interact, not worrying about what had happened between them before.

After they ate, Sasuke had brought the boy upstairs to his study. He had papers to grade, and he knew that Naruto couldn't have done all of his homework at school. Though the boy sulked a little when his "I left my books in my locker so they wouldn't get ruined" excuse was blown out the window by way of the Uchiha's extensive collection of books, which just happened to include the textbooks Naruto needed.

Still, after the initial sulking, the boy quieted down, spreading his work out on the floor by Sasuke's desk, and turning to his sensei every so often with some small problem, or something he didn't quite understand. The Uchiha got a lot of work done too, more than he would have on a regular night, and that thought baffled him. In fact, he'd finished grading all of the quizzes from the week before, and the final essays.

He stretched, watching Naruto nodding off over the science homework Sasuke knew wasn't due until the end of the week, and he felt himself smiling. He glanced at the clock and his eyes went wide. It was 2 in the morning, he never worked this late. It hadn't felt like that long at all, they couldn't have finished dinner later than 7. So where had all the time gone?

He looked over to find Naruto finally asleep on his science text book, the pencil held slackly in his hand still, poised over a ruled notebook page half filled with charts and process notations. Sasuke smiled again, putting away his papers before kneeling to shake the boy's shoulder slightly.

Naruto blinked up at him sleepily, his mouth opening to say something, but it was eclipsed by a giant yawn.

"Come on, Naruto-kun. It's time for you to go to bed, you can just sleep in one of the downstairs rooms tonight. It's too late to go home now anyways." Naruto glanced at the clock and then nodded, yawning again as Sasuke led him out of the room quietly, neither bothering to check Sasuke's phone, the small screen blinking "4 missed calls."
