Rebirth

Naruto felt empty, he didn't feel any better then before. 'Is this death?' he wondered. That’s when he heard his name.

"Naruto!"

He stood from where he was sitting. That voice sounded familiar, but he knew it was impossible. He wouldn’t be here, he couldn’t.

"Naruto, where are you?" The voice held concern, sadness.

"Sasuke?"

Sasuke came to a stop in front of the blonde. He looked into tormented blue eyes. "Please forgive me," he told him.

"What are you doing here?" Naruto stared at the raven, confused.

"I can't believe you would leave me like this," he told him.

Naruto lowered his eyes, looking back up with a fake smile, "hey teme, just think, now you can revive you clan. You don't have to waste any feelings you might have had towards me."

"Don't," Sasuke snarled.

The fake smile dropped as he continued, "the villagers don't have to look at me anymore to be reminded of what Kyuubi did. They will finally feel safe."

"Stop."

"And the other teams don't have to worry about hanging out with me anymore. See it works out for everyone."

"Shut. Up." Sasuke growled as he advanced on Naruto. He grabbed the blonde and pulled him into his arms and held on tightly. His body shook as tears streamed down his pale cheeks.

Naruto's eyes widened as Sasuke held him. He didn't want these feelings to over whelm him, he didn't want to cry.

"I love you." Sasuke voice was a whisper but Naruto heard him before the darkness took him, with a smile on his face.

~~Six Months Later~~

Sakura walked down the street with Hinata beside her. They both were worried about their friend. The raven seemed more irritable now and they knew why but they didn't want to mention it. It was still kind of a touchy subject for the dark nin.

When they arrived at the large wooden door Sakura knocked, holding her breath.

Sasuke opened the door and saw Sakura and Hinata standing there.

"H-Hi Sasuke-kun," Hinata told him smiling.

"Hn."

Sakura could see slight darkness under his eyes and that his eyes looked tired. He hasn't been getting enough sleep....

"SASUKEEEEEEEE! Where’s my ice cream?" A voice whined from the back.

Sasuke sighed, "Come on in," he pointed toward the back.

Both women walked past him careful not to laugh in front of him.

As they walked through some double doors they saw the blonde sitting in a chair that had been specially made so comfort for optimal.

When Naruto looked up he smiled, a real one. "Sakura-chan!, Hinata-chan! I'm so glad your here!" He told them as he struggled to stand.

Sakura sat down the box she held and went over to help him. It would have been easy except for his bulging belly.

Huffing he finally stood and rested a hand on his stomach, rubbing absently.

Hinata smiled and hugged the pregnant blonde, "you are so cute, Naruto-kun!" Hinata told him.

That brought a blush his tanned cheeks, "Hinataaaa, men aren't cute...they handsome," he corrected her.

Just then Sasuke came in carrying a bowl of ice cream and some pickles. He sat the items down and went to stand over by his blonde.
Naruto could see that he was tired, "Sasuke, why don't you go take a nap, while the baby shower is happening. Or better yet why don't you go hang out with Kiba."

"Kiba is doing some training right now. He wouldn't mind," Hinata told him. Since she was engaged to the dog nin she knew where he would be.

Sasuke kissed Naruto, "I think I'll take a nap. Let me know if you need anything." With those parting words he went upstairs.

"Naruto, I am so happy for you. Do you know what you’re having?" Hinata asked as they sat down. The shower wasn’t' due to start for another hour. They thought they would stop by earlier and help out, give Sasuke a break.

"Baa-chan said I'm having twins, a boy and girl." he told them smiling.

As the women went about getting the shower decorations up Naruto sat back down and closed his eyes to pay a special visit.

~~Inside Naruto’s Mind~~

'Kyuubi?"

‘Yes kit.'

'Thank you.'

Confusion marred his face, 'for what?'

'Keeping me alive when all I wanted to do was....'

'Don't kit. Remember you have your own kits to care for now.'

Smiling, 'thank you for these miracles.'

'My pleasure.'

Naruto opened his eyes and could see that more people had arrived. He looked around and could see that Sakura and Hinata had set everything up so nicely and not they were sitting down arranging all the gifts. Sasuke somehow was back downstairs but he was speaking with Neji, Lee and Gaara about something. He was leading them towards the back to give them out of the way of the baby shower. Kiba and Shikamaru were already out there waiting. Temara was there along with Ten-ten, Shizune and Ba-chan. Smiling Naruto stood to welcome his guests, his friends, and his family.
